(CNN) A Georgia couple who rode with a Confederate flag-waving group that made armed threats against African-Americans at a child's birthday party were sentenced to prison Monday.

Jose "Joe" Torres, was sentenced to 20 years, with 13 years in prison, after a jury convicted him on three counts of aggravated assault, one count of making terroristic threats and one count of violating of Georgia's Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act.

Kayla Norton was sentenced to 15 years, with six years in prison. She was convicted on one count of making terroristic threats and one count of violation of the Street Gang Act.

"Many people tried to make the case about simply flying the Confederate Battle Flag," Douglas County District Attorney Brian Fortner said in a statement. "This case was about a group of people riding around our community, drinking alcohol, harassing and intimidating our citizens because of the color of their skin."

On July 25, 2015, Torres and Norton, joined about a dozen other people in a convoy of pickup trucks waving large Confederate flags as they drove around Douglas County, a suburban Atlanta community. Most of them belonged to a group called "Respect the Flag."

"The convoy of trucks passed by the victim's residence where the victims were grilling hot dogs and hamburgers while hosting a child's birthday party featuring a bouncy castle, snow-cone machines, and a DJ," the district attorney's office posted on its official Facebook page.

The party-goers said the people in the trucks yelled racial slurs as they passed, the statement said.

The drivers parked the trucks near the house, prosecutors said. Torres was part of a smaller group that "threatened to kill the party goers while repeatedly using derogatory racial slurs against them," said the statement.

"Torres, who had retrieved a shotgun from his vehicle, pointed his shotgun at the group of African American party-goers and stated he was going to kill them while his co-defendants stated that 'the little ones can get one too,' referring to the young children at the party," the statement said.

Norton was accused of making similar threats. The victims said some member of Torres' group was armed with a knife and a tire tool.

According to the district attorney's statement, Torres testified he carried the shotgun because he feared for his friends' safety. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported members of "Respect the Flag" said people at the party had thrown objects at them.

CNN has tried to reach the two defendants' lawyers for comment.

After the arrests, investigators looked through the defendants' Facebook accounts, the statement said.

"Law enforcement was able to locate numerous posts and messages indicating that members of the group were white supremacists who discussed attending KKK rallies, joining Skinheads Nation, and making numerous derogatory remarks about African Americans as a whole," the DA's statement said.

Video of Monday's sentencing shot by WSB-TV, a CNN affiliate, showed both Torres and Norton breaking down in court as Judge William McClain handed down the sentence.

Norton apologized for her role in the incident saying, "I want you all to know that is not me. That is not me, that is not him. I would never walk up to you and say those words to you. I'm so sorry that happened to you. I am so sorry."

Hyesha Bryant, one of the people at the party, testified at the hearing and told Norton, "What you said affected my life. It affected my children's lives."

73792804?profile=RESIZE_1024x1024

But Bryant ended up telling Norton that "I forgive you, I forgive all of you."

A jury convicted Torres and Norton on February 6. They are both banished from Douglas County when they're released from prison.

Fifteen members of the Respect the Flag group were originally indicted. The disposition of all their cases is unknown, but the district attorney said some of them pleaded guilty to similar charges and received shorter sentences.

The title of New York artist Blackway’s “One Question” references his repeating of a single plea: “Will you be mine?/ Will you be mine?” Shot, edited, and directed by Kenneth Callier, an accompanying video for it dropped on Valentine’s Day — which, considering the earnestly lovestruck vibes of this Afropop-tinged track, feels fitting. Watch as Blackway emphatically spells out his romantic confessions with his hand gestures, the monochromatic aesthetic interrupted only occasionally by bursts of color set off by his dancers.

On September 7, 1996, Tupac Shakur was shot four times as he sat in the passenger seat of a BMW 750iL being driven by Death Row Records CEO, Suge Knight, on the Las Vegas strip.

The two had just watched Mike Tyson defeat Bruce Seldon by technical knockout in the first round at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Six days after being shot Tupac died from his wounds at the age of 25. Despite numerous leads the music icon's murder has never been solved.

Two decades later the BMW is up for auction on the memorabilia website Moments in Time. Their asking price is $1.5 million.

This is the latest item that Tupac was connected to that has been put up for sale. Over the years his jeep, handwritten letters, lyric sheets and more have been auctioned off.

Meek Mill vs. The Game.

This beef has no end in sight given the fact that both rappers continue to throw shots at each other via Instagram.

As we previously reported, Game went after Meek over the weekend for what he perceived as the Philadelphia rapper turning his back on his ex-girlfriend, Nicki Minaj, during her conflict with Remy Ma.

"Instead of leaving yo bum ass like she should've, she held yo skinny rat face havin ass down! Now she gone & all you can do is try & shit on her every chance you get over social media? Straight pussy shit," Hurricane captioned an IG photo.

Meek and Dreamchasers rapper Omelly took to Instagram Live to fire back.

Omelly: "The nigga a weirdo, y'all know that shit. Who the fuck write that paragraph that nigga wrote? Ain't none of us read that shit. We like, 'Yo, this nigga trippin.' Man fuck that shit. This some weirdo shit. You gotta be a weirdo to write all this shit about another man. And it's bitch shit. You in the middle of some shit. Get the fuck outta here, you weirdo. How is y'all even vouching for this shit? Y'all out here standing up for the wrong shit."

Meek Mill: "We gon' fuck his bitch, that's all we gon' do. I know one of his baby mom's mad. I know one of your baby mama's wanna get you back."

Welp...

Safaree Samuels probably knows Nicki Minaj better than anyone else. The two dated for over a decade before breaking up in 2014.

Like everyone else, Safaree has heard Remy Ma diss his ex on the song "Shether." When TMZ recently caught up with him to get his opinion, the rapper didn't pull any punches.

"Aww man, I ain't gon' lie ... crediblity-wise it's just a very disrespectful record. It's probably the most disrespectful record I've heard in my life," Scaff Beezy said.

When asked if Nicki should fire back with her own diss song Safaree said he wasn't sure, because he can't see an angle she should take.

73793405?profile=original

"I don't know 'cause it's like, what can you even say?" he responded. "Not even about the streets being behind [Remy] or not. What can you even say to Remy? It's really not much."

Safaree added that fans shouldn't expect him to come to Nicki's defense in this situation because he doesn't get involved in beefs between females.

Lyrics:

Watch me kill'em with the convo
I fuck with Vegas shit I might just get a condo
Or hit Jamaica roll some weed up in a fronto no grass for the snakes I keep my loan low Living fast no brakes I'm in alarm mode
used to hustle for some rims and car note Now I hustle like there is no toworrow
Use my pen to drop gems on a lost soul
I spent time up at crossroads no lie
My women friends is in the bed play both side
rappers out here washed up like low tide
How you see the bigger picture lens on low fi
I'll take mine off too if you don't mind
How you bout to do it major if you don't grind this is more than a co-sign cuz I left my haters road side the real ones don't die

Pre chorus
Wooo wait, hold up, run it
Since day one a nigga always been a hundred
From a Dollar and a dream to some hundreds
With my homies on the scene getting blunted

Chorus
Me and my team we gonna hustle make major paper
Work hard in this game till we ball like them player
Like my woman like weed baby I'm tasting all the flavors
You can be major later hater

You could be major later, hater
Wait up, look I done got my weight up
Made it all off the scraps they gave us
Now they the ones that’s asking favors
Funny how tables turn
Can’t lose when you play to learn
Run game like David Stearn
Your bitch wanna fuck tell her wait her turn
You can be major later
Or big time like Flava Flavor
I’m getting foolish paper
Floyd Mayweather My Neighbor
And I got my team on
Shinin’ like neon
Kept it 100 since day one
Haters want the AC on

Always been 100 flow is 5150
Lil bitches thinking they can stick w me tell em hit me
I, followed the code and made it a different mold
Created a different lane the baddest bitch on the road
They can't see me got them black tints
Peeling off they just following my track prints
That's why I'm still lappin bitches when I back sprint
Bitch my head is still litty off a dab hit
Fuck a blue print make a black print

Video After The Jump

(Reuters) American actor Bill Paxton, who rose to stardom in such Hollywood blockbusters as "Titanic" and inspired budding meteorologists as a tornado chaser in "Twister," has died at age 61, his family said on Sunday.

A family representative said Paxton died of complications after surgery. It was not immediately known what procedure the Fort Worth, Texas, native had undergone.

"Bill’s passion for the arts was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth and tireless energy were undeniable," the representative said in a statement.

Paxton, who appeared in more than 90 films or television shows over four decades, had recently starred in the HBO television series "Big Love" about a polygamous Mormon family, and acted alongside Tom Cruise in the 2014 film "Edge of Tomorrow."

For his role in "Apollo 13," Paxton won a Screen Actors Guild Award for outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture in 1996.

The son of a Texas businessman, Paxton had a brush with history on Nov. 22, 1963, when as an 8-year-old he saw President John F. Kennedy speak outside a Fort Worth hotel hours before Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas.

A photo of Paxton held above the crowd to catch a glimpse of the president became famous, and 50 years later, Paxton narrated the documentary "JFK: The Final Hours."

Paxton started in movies as a set dresser for maverick director Roger Corman and made his film debut in "Crazy Mama" (1975).

He was a familiar face in movies directed by James Cameron, appearing as a knife-wielding punk in "Terminator" (1984) and a treasure hunter in "Titanic" (1997). Paxton also was a space marine in Cameron's "Aliens" (1986) who memorably yelps, "Game over, man!" when threatened by the title creatures.

His profile soared with "One False Move" (1992), a critically praised film noir in which he played a sheriff with a secret past.

In 2004, critic David Thomson called "One False Move" Paxton's finest work. He wrote of his performances, "Bill Paxton can vary his action hero by several degrees one way or another - towards introspection or loud-mouthed enthusiasm."

Paxton also gained an unlikely fan base - meteorologists - when he starred in "Twister" (1996) as tornado-chasing weatherman Bill "The Extreme" Harding.

On Sunday the National Weather Service said on Twitter, "'Twister' was an inspiration to many budding meteorologists over the last 20 years. Thank you, Bill Paxton."

He was nominated for three Golden Globe Awards in the best actor category for his work in "Big Love" and the 1990s miniseries "A Bright Shining Lie."

Paxton leaves behind his wife, Louise Newberry, and two children, James and Lydia.
