CHICAGO (WLS) -- The trial for the murder of 9-year-old Tyshawn Lee in Auburn Gresham in 2016 began Tuesday.
Dwright Boone-Doty and Corey Morgan are accused of luring Lee into an alley in the Auburn-Gresham neighborhood four years ago promising him a juice box, but instead, prosecutors said they shot him multiple times, execution style.
Prosecutors say the killing was in retaliation for an earlier shooting that killed Morgan's brother and injured his mother. The first witness called was Detective Brian Drees, who said two rival gang members are charged in that shooting.
Prosecutors said they have evidence from witnesses as well as DNA linking both men to the scene, and even an alleged jailhouse confession on an undercover recording.
Boone-Doty and Corey Morgan will be tried together but before separate juries, each of which will only consider the evidence as it pertains to one of the defendants.
Prosecutors are taking the case chronologically, establishing a motive and then providing evidence. Defense attorneys argued the evidence is circumstantial, and that police were under pressure to solve a high profile case and got the wrong guys.
The judge said he expects the trial to last about four weeks.
The accused getaway driver pleaded guilty earlier this month in exchange for a 25-year sentence.
In August, Corey Morgan's brother, Anthony, was sentenced for buying the gun used to kill Tyshawn.

Report via TMZ -- Travis Scott is definitely in the one percent -- not only does his new vehicle cost more than most new houses ... it's one of only 99 ever made in the whole world.
The rapper recently dropped a fortune on a white 2018 Maybach G650 Landaulet, an extremely rare G-Wagon that goes for $1.6 million and comes fully loaded.
Travis bought the G through Specialty Car Collection in L.A. a couple weeks ago after it purchased the ride from well-known car collector Obi Okeke ... AKA "Doctor Bugatti." We're told it was loaded in Austin and shipped to Scott in Houston.
Maybach only produced 99 of the Landaulets, but just to make it even more special ... Trav had it custom wrapped in brown. Goes well with the interior -- which includes a mini-fridge!!! It is $1.6 mil, after all.
The baller ride caps off an incredible run Scott's been on this year, with the massive success of his "Astroworld" album and tour and the release of his Netflix documentary, "Look Mom I Can Fly."

Report via TMZ -- Dave East isn't celebrating the fact he scored a three-way in Vegas ... instead, he's facing a battery charge after cops say bottles and punches were thrown while he was in the act.
The New York rapper was cited last weekend in Las Vegas after cops interviewed multiple witnesses to an altercation he and 2 women allegedly got into following an appearance Saturday night at Drai's Nightclub.
According to the police report, obtained by TMZ, Dave invited 2 women back to his room at the Delano hotel and started having sex with them. From Dave's POV, he told officers that 1 woman was upset he wasn't giving her as much attention ... and flipped out.
Dave told cops she started hurling champagne bottles at him from across the room, and 2 of 'em made contact ... striking him in the head and leaving cuts -- which cops saw -- on his arm and leg.
As for the woman's version ... she told officers that in the middle of the sexual encounter, she and Dave got into an argument, and he threw punches 5-6 times, with one hitting her arm. She said she ran to the bathroom to call cops. She made no mention of bottles being thrown.
Other witnesses included a third woman who entered the room once the argument started and one of Dave's friends. The woman said Dave was the aggressor, while his buddy only saw the woman hurling bottles. Obviously, a he-said, she-said situation.
Both parties were cited for misdemeanor battery, but nobody was arrested. Dave and the woman were treated at separate hospitals.
Dave's attorney, Stacey Richman, further claims the woman threw a soap dispenser at Dave -- but says the rapper didn't respond with violence, and instead was concerned for everyone's safety. Richman claims Dave justifiably took her by the arm and put her out of the room.
Richman denies Dave assaulted anyone and says he got a CAT scan after the alleged incident ... doctor's orders. They are waiting on the results.

Report via TMZ -- Mac Miller's fortune has officially been totaled up -- and the guy was worth over $11 million ... which will be split among his closest friends and family.
The rapper's estate filed new legal docs showing Mac's wealth has been appraised in full at about $11.3 million, including his personal property and cash on hand. A few of Mac's buddies are going to get a vast majority of his belongings -- including LOTS of jewelry and other cool stuff -- while his mom, dad and bro will get the rest.
According to the docs, obtained by TMZ, Mac's trust left special instructions to give Bryan Johnson all of his clothing and electronics, specifically ... his TV, laptop, iPads, etc. Another friend named Q Chandler-Cuff is getting more than 20 pieces of jewelry ... valued at several tens of thousands of dollars.
His bud, Dylan Rectenwald, will be getting all of Mac's musical instruments and equipment -- MM was a known musician and producer, so he had his fair share of toys, including a $5,000 guitar. He also left someone named Jimmy Murton his household furnishings.
As for Mac's family, he left them a whopping $5 million-plus in bank and brokerage accounts -- plus whatever else he had to his name.
Mac Miller died of an accidental overdose last year at the age of 26. His death resulted in the arrest of his alleged drug dealer, who the feds say provided him a lethal dose of spiked drugs.

ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga. (WSB) -- The Rockdale County Sheriff's Department is investigating a deadly triple shooting Monday morning.
Deputies said a homeowner shot three teens who were wearing masks. Channel 2's Aaron Diamantlearned two of the teens were brothers, 15 and 16 years old. A third was a 15-year-old boy.
The shooting happened around 4 a.m. at a house off White Oak Court in Conyers. One of the boys died at the scene. The other two later died at the hospital.
Investigators said one of the teens pulled out a gun and fired at the neighbors before the homeowner returned fire.
Deputies found the teens outside the home after the homeowner called 911 for help. One was lying near the edge of the driveway and the other two up the road a bit.
"I heard a guy yelling for help. 'Help me, help me, I'm dying, I'm dying, help me, help me,'" said neighbor Brian Jenkins.
The sheriff says the homeowner was outside around 4 a.m. Monday when the shootings happened.
A neighbor heard the gunfire and ran out to help.
"It was five shots and then it sounded like a handgun. Then I heard somebody have an assault rifle. And it was a slew of shots that came out," neighbor Carlos Watson said.
Deputies say they still don't know who owned the two guns they found.
Investigators say three people were at the home, including a woman, when the shooting happened.
The homeowner who shot the masked intruder is a man. Neighbors say he's a truck driver who owns a semi-automatic rifle and is highly protective of his mother.
No charges have been filed against anyone at this time.
Authorities are still interviewing neighbors in the area.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office.

Born King has been called a prolific rapper, releasing two albums a year, one on his birthday and one on Halloween. His 2007 album, Kradedis was heavily anticipated and sold out at The Sound Garden in Baltimore, Maryland. It went on to house two Baltimore anthems, one in particular, “Blue Lights”, gained attention from its criticism of the Baltimore police department's surveillance camera campaign; it made it on Al Shipley’s Government Names 5th Anniversary Retrospective list. The second anthem, “A Better Way”, focuses on the struggles of the everyday blue-collar worker with no hope in site, and spread through Baltimore’s underground hip-hop scene through word-of-mouth. In 2008 under the name Killa Fifth, Born King released, The Secret Order, an album containing lyrical and abstract content, it was reviewed by Al Shipley for the City Paper being recognized for its “uncompromising music and murky sonics”; it continues to garner attention through popular file-sharing sites. Born King is planning to release his next album, The Rize of the Lightkenz in the near future under his Killa Fifth alias, an album that will creatively mesh concrete and abstract subjects into a powerful album that will replenish Baltimore’s underground hip-hop circuit.
