The heartfelt track tackles the tough topic of addiction, depression and anxiety in Canada. Suicide is the ninth leading cause of death in Canada and the second leading cause for youth age 10-19-years of age and opioid overdose death has claimed more than 13,000 lives in Canada since 2016. The song and video pay tribute to loved ones and family that were lost far too young.
Sirreal is an original hip-hop artist bringing hard-hitting beats and lyrical talent to every performance. Sirreal believes in a world where a connection can be the antidote to death, depression and anxiety. For him, what drives connection is music. Music is the medicine that has been around for longer than any of the prescribed vaccines, antidepressants or painkillers that we see today. LOS ANGELES — A police officer was arrested Thursday on a charge that he fondled the breast of a dead woman in October, according to authorities and court documents.
Officer David Rojas, 27, who has been with the Los Angeles Police Department for four years, was arrested by the department’s internal affairs division.
He is charged with one count of having sexual contact with human remains in the Oct. 20 incident, which occurred after Rojas and his partner responded to a call about a woman who had died, prosecutors said in a statement.
Rojas was released Thursday on $20,000 bail, according to jail records. It was not clear if he had an attorney who could speak on his behalf. A phone number for Rojas could not immediately be found Thursday night.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said Rojas faces up to three years in prison if convicted.
"This incident is extremely disturbing and does not represent the values of the Los Angeles Police Department," LAPD Chief Michel Moore said in a statement.
The LAPD said earlier this month that an officer was removed from active duty amid an investigation. The Associated Press reported at the time that that the alleged incident was captured on the officer’s body camera despite an effort to turn it off.
The officer turned off the camera after being left alone with the corpse and then turned it on, but the cameras have two-minute buffering periods that record what happens right before they are activated, the AP reported, citing a person briefed on the investigation.
The district attorney's office said Rojas touched the dead woman's breast while he was alone.
The board of directors for the Los Angeles Police Protective League, the police officers' union, called the alleged acts "vile."
"We hope that District Attorney Jackie Lacey charging Mr. Rojas for his vile alleged crime will bring some solace to the deceased woman's family during their time of grieving," the board said in a statement.
"The Los Angeles Police Protective League will not defend Mr. Rojas during his criminal proceedings," it continued, "and his alleged behavior is abhorrent and an affront to every law enforcement professional working for the LAPD."
Internal affairs detectives were examining Rojas' entire career at the LAPD, including a review of other video he recorded while on duty, NBC Los Angeles reported, citing sources.
The police department said in a statement that it presented its case to the district attorney's office on Tuesday and the single felony count was filed Thursday.

A Tennessee family said someone hacked a Ring security camera set up in their children's bedroom and taunted their 8-year-old daughter.
The LeMay family, of Memphis, said they installed the device to keep an eye on their daughters. A few days later, the family said a stranger had gained access to the device and was talking to the little girl.
In a video from the Ring device, the child, standing in her room, asks: "Who is that?"
A man responds that he's her "best friend."
"I'm Santa Claus. Don't you want to be my best friend?" he says.
The terrified girl screams for her mother.
The hacker also played music for the girl and instructed her to mess up her room and break her television.
"You can do whatever you want," he says.
"I don't know who you are," the girl responds.
Ashley LeMay, the girl's mother, said that the hacker could have watched her daughters changing or sleeping.
"They could have seen all kinds of things," she said.
Ring told NBC News in a statement that, "While we are still investigating this issue and are taking appropriate steps to protect our devices based on our investigation, we are able to confirm this incident is in no way related to a breach or compromise of Ring’s security."
The terrifying ordeal the LeMay family experienced isn't the first time there have been reports of security camera devices being hacked.
Earlier this month, a Florida family said someone hacked their Ring device and spewed racial slurs at their 15-year-old son. The family said told NBC affiliate WBBH in Fort Myers that they had to remove the batteries from the camera.
"I was scared... I was scared. I didn't know who that is, how long he'd been watching us and I'm still scared now because I don't have any answers," Josefine Brown told the outlet.
In January, an Illinois family said a stranger hacked into their Nest home security camera and thermostat.
Arjun Sud told NBC Chicago that after he put his 7-month-old son to bed he heard someone talking to the infant. The hacker also turned the heat up in the room to 90 degrees.
“The moment I realized what was happening, panic and confusion set in, and my blood truthfully ran cold,” Sud said. “We don’t know how long someone was in our Nest account watching us. We don’t know how many private conversations they overheard.”
During that incident, Google, which owns Nest, told the outlet that its systems were not breached and customers were "using compromised passwords" that were exposed in breaches on other websites.

The mother of slain 6-year-old Zymere Perkins on Wednesday coldly recounted the fatal beating her lover delivered with a broken broomstick, and how she cleaned her child’s limp and unresponsive body, read the bible and did her makeup before carrying the battered little boy to the hospital.
In her third day on the stand in Manhattan Supreme Court in the murder trial of ex-boyfriend Rysheim Smith, Geraldine Perkins, 29, confessed that she stood idly by while her son endured the heartless beating that killed him in their Harlem apartment Sept. 26, 2016.
After a day without food or water — punishment for his supposed misbehavior — Perkins testified she found little Zymere rummaging through the trash for food.
“I heard him walking and going into the garbage bag, eating out of it,” Perkins said. “I thought it was a mouse.”
The next morning, Perkins said she was awoken by Smith yelling at her son for defecating in the living room and hiding it.
“He started to strike him with a broomstick, beating him from his chest to his legs with the broomstick,” said Perkins.
“'Why the f--k did you take a s--t? Why did you take a f-----g s--t in here? There’s a bathroom, you could have used the bathroom,'” she said Smith yelled at the little boy.
The beating intensified when Smith picked a screaming Zymere from the floor and brought him into the bathroom, where he waterboarded him before pulling down the shower rod and unleashing another beating.
“He was going limp, like unresponsive,” Perkins recounted.
He looked “like he was dead,” his mother testified.
Perkins said hours later she finally sought medical assistance for her son, who, she testified, she instinctively knew was dead.
