(CNN) -- A 3-year-old boy who was taken at gunpoint from his California home nearly two weeks ago has been found, authorities said Saturday. Briant Rodriguez, 3, was taken during a home invasion on May 3 in San Bernardino, California, police say. 1 of 2 Briant Rodriguez was found wandering the streets of Mexicali, Mexico, by a police officer late Thursday, said San Bernardino County Sheriff Rod Hoops. After clearing paperwork with Mexican officials, California authorities reunited the boy with his mother Saturday in the border town of Calexico, Hoops said. "We're very happy that he's alive," Hoops said. "A 3-year-old goes missing in this country for two weeks -- sometimes it has an unhappy ending. "This one did not." Watch portion of sheriff's news conference » The boy had been missing since May 3, when two men armed with handguns burst into his family's home and tied him up -- along with his mother and four siblings. The men ransacked the home before leaving with Briant, a small amount of cash and some personal property, San Bernardino sheriff's spokeswoman Cindy Beavers said. Authorities had not caught the suspects as of Saturday evening. Hoops said authorities have information about at least two suspects -- who were captured on video at a home-improvement store near the Rodriguez home buying tape like the kind that was used to bind the family. He said the names of the suspects, and what authorities believe was a motive, are not being released because they could jeopardize the investigation. He also declined to say what relationship the suspects may have had with the family or whether the kidnapping is linked with drug crime that has run rampant in Mexican border towns in recent months. Members of drug cartels in the border region have been known to use kidnapping as a means of quick cash. "If you take a look at the case, I'll let you do your own homework on it," Hoops told reporters. Authorities from San Bernardino flew to Mexico late Friday to get Briant. Hoops said he appears to be in good health. His hair, which is shoulder-length in photographs that authorities had released, had apparently been shaved, Hoops said. Hoops said Briant's mother is "a Mexican citizen living here in the United States," but that he is unsure of her immigration status. He said Briant was born in the United States. Sgt. Doug Hubbard, who was in Calexico when Briant and his mother were reunited, called the meeting emotional. "Tears even came to Briant's eyes," he said. "It was a beautiful thing.

Man Kills Boss Over Air Conditioning

Simon Silva, a 66 year-old Miami resident, lived and worked on the property of his unnamed boss and de facto landlord until he was fired earlier this week. Silva began making arrangements to move out, but the landlord seemingly grew impatient yesterday and disconnected the air condition during a 90+ degree Miami day. Silva got angry, which is understandable given the weather, and the two got in a heated dispute over the hot situation, according to police documents. What isn't understandable is why Silva pulled out a gun and shot the man and another unidentified victim. The other victim was not involved in the argument. The landlord later died of his injuries at Jackson Memorial Hospital. The second victim is currently in the hospital in stable condition. Silva later confessed to the police. He's being charged with 2nd degree murder and attempted murder. Source: Miami New Times

On Eminem's upcoming album Relapse, the rapper touches on his past addictions on several tracks, but a number of songs also feature twisted narratives like that on "3 A.M." Datwon Thomas, editor in chief of XXL, interviewed Eminem for the June issue of the magazine and said Relapse reflects a number of influences: Particularly, Thomas cited the crime shows and documentaries the Detroit native watched on TV regularly. Thomas said Em told him he would drop what he was doing to check out documentaries on serial killers. "All his influences from the past four years while he's been down, I think, are all jumbled into the album," Thomas told MTV News. "Like, all the TV shows he watches, 'The First 48' and 'CSI' type of shows. Those are the shows he watches, a lot of serial-killer type of documentaries. That was all incorporated in this album. And if you think about it, it's very conceptual. It's a concept album based on his issue with drugs, but then this dark sinister individual." Songs like "Same Song & Dance" and "Stay Wide Awake" find the rapper delivering horror-core-like tales of murder and mayhem. The music influenced XXL for the photo shoot with the rapper. According to Thomas, the dark album inspired them to go with a comic book theme for Eminem. The result was the rapper donning a Punisher get-up and logo on his chest for the magazine cover. "That's why with XXL, we went with that theme," Thomas said. "We had the Marvel angle, but he picked the Punisher out of the Marvel family."
