Prior to Conor McGregor fighting and defeating Jose Aldo at UFC 193 on December 12, TMZ Sports caught up with him and asked who would win a fight pitting him against Jesus.
"Me versus Jesus in the Octagon. I'll tell you what, there's not a man alive that can beat me," McGregor said. "But Jesus ain't alive is he? I don't fucking know. Maybe he can come back from the dead. I'd still whoop his ass."
Those comments didn't sit well with Wanderlei "The Axe Murderer" Silva, the former PRIDE middleweight champion and former UFC title contender.
Silva posted a Facebook video in response to the disrespect he feels McGregor showed towards God.
"When I meet this guy, for everything he said about Jesus, I will slap this motherfucker in the face. You can’t do that. You can’t play with our God. When I meet you, raise your hand because you’re getting slapped in the face, you punk," Silva said.
Trash talking is normal among fighters. Nothing usually comes of it outside of the Octagon. But Silva is very serious about his religious beliefs and is known for his hot temper. It will be interesting to see what happens if he crosses paths with McGregor.
