Let's be honest, the Oscars are pretty damn boring to watch. Last night's show was no different, aside from Leonardo DiCaprio's Best Actor acceptance speech, Lady Gaga and The Weeknd's performances and Chris Rock doing his best to keep people awake while doing an admirable job as host.
One segment that was supposed to be funny, but fell flat was Stacey Dash's brief appearance after being introduced by Rock as "the new director of our minority outreach program."
The "Clueless" star hit the stage and said: "I cannot wait to help my people out. Happy Black History Month, thank you," before quickly walking off.
There were a few laughs from the audience, but most just seemed confused. Watch the moment below and check out The Weeknd and Chrissy Teigen's reaction.
The Weeknd looked like he wasn't sure if he wanted to laugh or cringe while watching Stacey Dash

Dash later took to her blog to explain what took place.
You might be watching the Oscars and wondering why someone named Stacey Dash just walked across the stage. (Why was that funny anyway?)
Well, I’m Stacey – with an “e” – and it’s nice to meet you. I was born in the South Bronx, became an actress in Hollywood where I starred in the 1995 movie Clueless.
Since then, you won’t believe what happened. (Actually you can read the full story in my upcoming book There Goes My Social Life: From Clueless to Conservative.) Even though I voted for Obama during 2008 – even had a bumper sticker! – I didn’t make the same mistake twice. In 2012, I voted for Mitt Romney – and everyone freaked the hell out about it.
Why? Well, black people should support black candidates, I was told. But I’m not one to be told what to do. No matter my skin color, I was going to vote for the best candidate. Since I was blamed, mocked, and ridiculed in the press over supporting a Republican, I’ve spoken out about a LOT of stuff that black people try to stuff down my throat.
For example, I spoke out against Black History Month. ( Why should there be such a thing? Haven’t we had more than just one month’s worth of accomplishments? Here my thoughts HERE.) Plus, I spoke out against the #OscarsSoWhite controversyHERE. My take? We need to stop complaining about white people oppressing us, we shouldn’t boycott the Oscars, and we need to support Chris Rock the host.
Which brings me to the joke. When they added ME to increase the diversity, I’m sure many black people rolled their eyes. I’m not “black enough,” they say. But guess what? I’ve heard that all my life. I would rather be a free thinking, black than a cookie cutter black who thinks – and votes – just like all my friends.
Yes, I’m the actress from the South Bronx who has always dreamed of winning an Oscar. But God has a great sense of humor and this is my first encounter with one of my dreams of destiny. Bringing diversity to Hollywood… not merely because of color, but politics as well. (After all, different colors of skin is an easy kind of diversity. Ideological diversity is much harder, because it forces everyone to come face to face with actual beliefs. Hollywood needs BOTH.)
Anyway, this is a first. A beginning.
So that’s who I am. Nice to meet you.
OK...

Chris Rock was the host of the 88th annual Academy Awards on Sunday, February 27th. Right away he jumped into the #OscarsSoWhite controversy.
“Why are we protesting this Oscars? It’s the 88th Academy Awards, which means this ‘no black nominees’ thing happened at least 71 other times," he joked. "You've got to figure that it happened in the 50's, in the 60's. One of those years Sidney didn’t put out a movie. I’m sure there were no black nominees some of those years, say ‘62’ or ‘63. And black people did not protest. Why? Because we had real things to protest at the time. We were too busy being raped and lynched to care about who won best cinematographer. When your grandmother’s swinging from a tree, it’s really hard to care about best documentary foreign short.”
Rock was able to walk that fine line between pointing out facts about the Oscars history regarding black actors without being offensive.
Nobody was spared during the comedian's 10 minute monologue, regardless of race.
One of his funniest jokes took aim at Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith.
"What happened this year? People went mad," Rock said. "Spike [Lee] got mad, [Al] Sharpton got mad, Jada went mad and Will went mad. Everybody went mad. Jada said he's not coming. I'm like 'Isn't she in a TV show?' Jada boycotting the Oscars is like me boycotting Rihanna's panties. I wasn't invited. Ohhh, that's not an invitation I would turn down. I understand Jada's mad. Your man Will was not nominated for Concussion, I get it. You get mad saying, 'It's not fair that Will was this good and didn't get nominated.' You're right. It's also not fair that Will was paid $20 million for Wild, Wild West."
Overall, he was quite effective and funny. Check out the monologue below.

(Reuters) Catholic Church abuse movie "Spotlight" was named best picture, the top award at Sunday's Oscars ceremony, after a night peppered with pointed punchlines from host Chris Rock about the #OscarsSoWhite controversy that has dominated the industry.
In a ceremony where no single movie commanded attention, Mexico's Alejandro Inarritu nabbed the best directing Oscar for "The Revenant", becoming the first filmmaker in more than 60 years to win back-to-back Academy Awards. Inarritu won in 2015 for "Birdman."
"The Revenant" went into Sunday's ceremony with a leading 12 nominations, and was among four movies believed to have the best chances for best picture after it won Golden Globe and BAFTA trophies.
The ambitious 20th Century Fox Pioneer-era tale, shot in sub-zero temperatures, also brought a first Oscar win for its star Leonardo DiCaprio, who got a standing ovation from the A-list Hollywood audience.
"I do not take tonight for granted," DiCaprio said, taking the opportunity in his acceptance speech to urge action on climate change.
Climate change "is the most urgent threat facing our entire species."

Yet voters in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences chose Open Road Films' "Spotlight," which traces the Boston Globe's 2003 Pulitzer Prize winning investigation of child sex abuse by Catholic priests, for best picture. The movie also won best original screenplay.
"This film gave a voice to survivors, and this Oscar amplifies that voice, which we hope can become a choir that will resonate all the way to the Vatican," said producer Michael Sugar.
Rising star Brie Larson, 26, took home the statuette for best actress for her role as an abducted young woman in indie movie "Room," adding to her armful of trophies from other award shows.

Mission Statement Entertainment's mission statement is to bring back the integrity and the grass roots of music as a whole. We want to also bring it back to appeal to the masses of common people that cannot afford or does not have the finances to buy such extravagant things as Jordans, Audemars Piguet's, Robin's Jeans and Bugatti's. While focused on youth, but even appealing to adults, we want people to be able to relate to the artist, the artist's music and know what adversities they are going through, have gone through in the past, and the struggles or situation they are dealing with now. In light of that, they want to be able to find a solution in the end to help them and the common person cope with everyday life from something they've heard in a song. No matter what ethnicity we are, one things for certain, we love some type of music as a whole, no matter what category. That's the responsibility and the power of music.
We believe that's what the hip hop hybrid group "That Nation" represents. They represent responsibility that comes with power, they represent the common person and most of all the void that's missing in music.
"That Nation" are from a small town in Opelousas, Louisiana that many people does not know exist on the map, let alone in Louisiana. They are proving that you don't have to be from a big city in order to have great talent. These 2 gentlemen known as Yung Dezzy-D and Lil Bill Swavey represent their true selves to fullest in their music by giving you their everyday life instead of a fictional dream that has never been lived by either. They speak on the struggles of growing from boys to manhood; ie, family, friendships, dating/relationships, work and their inner selves. They have a story to tell and their story should definitely be heard by the masses. These gentlemen's music will bridge the age generation gap and ethnic boundaries in hip hop, music and the world. The movement is already taking effect and happening. We are the world , we are one race, we are one nation, That Nation!

As many of you by know by now former Hot Boys rapper Turk spent nearly 9 years incarcerated for allegedly shooting 2 police officers during a 2004 raid on his Memphis, Tennessee apartment.
Since being released from prison in 2012, Turk has started his own record label, YNT Empire, gotten off of probation, and has been focused on putting out new music.
However, there are still legal fees associated with his case that he cannot afford to pay. Last week he started a GoFundMe page seeking $5 million in donations.
In response to people questioning his motives, Turk has released a video addressing the situation.
"I know everybody wondering 'Why the fuck Turk start a GoFundMe account?' As y'all know I did 9 years. I was locked up in the penitentiary for a crime I didn't do," Turk said. "When I was locked up the judge awarded the police officer that say that I shot him a $10 million default judgement. Now that I'm home ... now that I'm out, they trying to put me back in the system because the police officer feels like, 'He's out, he's a rapper, he's making money, he on social media. He doing this and doing that.' You know, just trying to put things together, thinking I'm stashing money from him.
So, they subpoenaed me to come and give a account of what's going on. And to be real, it's like $5 million I don't have to give no officer," Turk continued. "I don't have it. That's just real, I don't have it. I have told them that on several occasions, but they steady insisting on collecting money from something that's not there. If I was the person that really did this -- I'm off of probation. I did my time. To shoot a police that's some gangster shit, but I maintain my innocence. I'm telling y'all, I didn't shoot no police officer. I didn't try to kill no police officer. They was shot by friendly fire."
Turk's wife, Erika, posted the following message on the GoFundMe page.
"I Am Erica The Wife Of Tab Turk Virgil From Memphis, TN. After Being Away From Home For Almost A Decade Tab Find It Harder And Harder Everyday Trying To Maintain.Without Going In Details. For Those Who Know Tab Know That He's A Very Good Husband And A Caring Father To His Son And Twins.Today I Come To You For Help Because Tab Is In A 5 Million Dollar Debt And Its Hard Trying To Pay It Off On Top Of Everything Else.He Will Appreciate Any Donation You Can Give To Him And His Family.Your Donations Will Be Used To Help With Any Financial Burdens That Will Occur While He Goes Through His Situation..May God Bless You And Yours..We Thank You In Advance!!!"

Stephen Curry showed once again that he might be the best 3-point shooter in the history of the NBA Saturday, February 27, in a game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
When the point guard sank a long range jumper from about 40 feet from the basket with 0.6 seconds left in overtime, he sealed a 121-118 win for the Golden State Warriors.
"What was that, 40 feet?" teammate Draymond Green asked. "That's absurd."
In the process Curry tied the record for the most 3-pointers made in a game with 12. He finished with 46 points.
"Honestly, I don't know exactly where I am, so it's not like I'm calibrating in my head, all right, 38 feet, 37, 36," Curry said after the game via the Associated Press. "Just literally, you've got a sense of — I've shot the shot plenty of times, you're coming across halfcourt and timing up your dribbles, and you want to shoot before the defense goes in. And that was pretty much my only thought."
The 27-year old's shooting process has left fellow players beyond impressed.

— Earvin Magic Johnson (@MagicJohnson) February 28, 2016
He also raised the bar for the most shots made from beyond the arc in a season with 288, breaking his own NBA record.
"I never would have thought at this point in the season I would be closing in on 300 and all that kind of stuff," he said. "That doesn't make sense to me. I've always tried to push the envelope and keep getting better, but a lot has to go right to get to this point."
Do you think Curry is the best long range shooter to step onto an NBA court?

(USA Today/MMA Junkie) LONDON – Nearly knocked out on two occasions, leaking blood from several cuts on his face, Michael Bisping survived a vintage Anderson Silva to take home a unanimous decision.
Anderson Silva loses controversial decision to Michael Bisping #UFCLondon https://t.co/H8z69Zwbqv
— ChasinDatPaper (@ChasinMoPaper) February 28, 2016
Bisping (28-7 MMA, 18-7 UFC), the No. 8 ranked fighter in the USA TODAY Sports/MMAjunkie MMA middleweight rankings, opened an early lead on Silva (33-7 MMA, 16-3 UFC) and cleared his head after a pair of devastating shots hurt him in later rounds.
The middleweight bout headlined today’s UFC Fight Night 84 card at The O2 in London. It streamed on UFC Fight Pass.
The final scorecards were unanimously 48-47 for Bisping, whose heated clash with Silva at the weigh-ins gave way to a post-fight bow with with the ex-middleweight champ.
It's all about #Respect https://t.co/fRobzjPoMM
— UFC (@ufc) February 27, 2016
“I wanted this fight my entire life,” he said afterward. “Because of you guys, you give me the power. I’m just a guy from a very normal background, and you guys have been in my corner every time. I don’t know what to say, I’m (expletive) crying.”
With his decision win, Bisping inched ahead of Silva as the winningest middleweight in UFC history, a stat more remarkable for the fact that he has never held or even fought for a UFC title, while Silva earlier in his career defended his belt a record-setting 10 times.
Bisping came close to fighting Silva on two occasions in while the Brazilian held the belt, but on both occasions came up short, losing a decision to Chael Sonnen in 2012 and getting knocked out by ex-champ Vitor Belfort one year later.
The outspoken Brit brought that history into the cage, while Silva hoped to earn his first win since October 2012 after a comeback fight and decision over Nick Diaz at UFC 183 led to positive drug tests and a no-contest. The second of a pair of losses to now ex-champ Chris Weidman led to a horrific leg break that sidelined him for more than a year. A suspension stemming from his positive tests left him inactive for most of 2015.
Throughout much of the fight, Silva appeared to be in vintage form as he beguiled Bisping with feints and fakes. The strategy backfired, however, when the Brit refused to remain stationary and fired off well-placed combinations. On the chase for a retort, Silva walked into a pair of counters at the end of the first and second rounds, the latter of which knocked him to the canvas.
In the third frame, Silva appeared more focused and played it straight against Bisping. Not surprisingly, the change produced the best results, with Bisping withering under a late-round attack. It was then that the bout nearly got derailed.
Staggered, Bisping lost his mouthpiece and signaled to referee Herb Dean in the final seconds of the middle frame. As he did, Silva pounced and landed a flying knee a second before the bell that knocked Bisping to the mat. Thinking he’d won, Silva celebrated for several moments atop the cage before officials got through with the message that Dean hadn’t called off the bout.
Can we go back to the end of round 3?! #WhatHadHappenedWas https://t.co/VqquhAt4Gn
— UFC (@ufc) February 27, 2016
It was a bizarre sequence, but Silva’s fights over the years have been filled with surprises.
Silva resumed his attack in the fourth, hoping to put Bisping away with well-placed punches. But Bisping managed to rally and continued putting together combinations, several times taking his opponent’s invitation to corner him at the cage and fire off punches, most of which were blocked. It was in the final moments of that frame, and the fifth, where Silva came alive.
As Bisping tried to put the ex-champ away in the final frame, Silva snuck in a front kick that had him dazed on his feet. But try as he might to put an end to the fight, Bisping survived.
HE FRONT KICKED HIM IN THE FACE!! #UFCLondon https://t.co/rAgYu8I1uo
— UFC (@ufc) February 27, 2016
The decision undoubtedly serves as the veteran Brit’s biggest victory to date, though it’s unclear whether his gutsy win will be rewarded with a title shot. In November 2014, he was badly beaten by current champ Luke Rockhold, who is set to rematch Weidman for the title at UFC 199.
Wherever it leads him, Bisping was overcome with tears when he spoke about what it meant to defeat an opponent who undoubtedly will go down as one of the greatest, if not the greatest, fighter of all time.
“That’s why I’m so emotional right now,” he said. “This has been a lifelong quest. Anderson, I know I said things. The respect I have for you, you cannot measure. You inspired me. When I started, I was a young, cocky kid, saying things I regret, and the whole time I was looking at this guy thinking, wow, I want to be like that guy. Anderson, thank you. If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t be here.”
After playfully cleaning off the post-fight mic left bloody by Bisping’s use, Silva also fought back emotion as he thanked the crowd. He then gave a message for his Brazilian fans.
“What can you do,” he said via his longtime translator and manager, Ed Soares. “You saw the fight. I thought it went differently. I want to thank all my coaches and my team. I thought the mission was completed, but I guess not.”
Brazilian MMA reporter Evy Rodrigues had a different translation of Silva's words, however.
AS also said: "If you can't win in one way, they find a way to take it from you. Sometimes things are like in Brazil: totally corrupted"
— Evy Rodrigues (@vevyrodrigues) February 27, 2016

Could Nicki Minaj be close to ending her relationship with Meek Mill?
According to TMZ, the couple isn't seeing eye to eye after a huge argument stemming from her rejection of his offer to move into his Philadelphia home with him while he's on house arrest.
As we previously reported, the MMG rapper was sentenced to a minimum of 90 days house by Common Pleas Judge Genece Brinkley on Friday, February 5, as a result of him violating his probation.

Nicki reportedly doesn't want to put her life on hold because of Meek's legal issues. The two have yet to resolve the dispute. She is currently in Los Angeles and her return to Philadelphia is up in the air.
TMZ reports that the couple argue often, but this was the worst one yet.
