“Stash Box” is the first single from 38 Spesh’s album Interstate 38. I-38 drops in October

38 Spesh has been so focused on producing for the last year, rappers finally got a chance to breathe. But that all ended in July when he dropped his first solo project of 2020, “6 Shots: Overkill.” The EP demonstrates how effortless emceeing is for the Rochester mastermind. However, what heads didn’t know is that the release was just warm-up for his upcoming full-length studio album titled “Interstate 38.”

To spark this campaign off right Spesh is giving fans what they’ve been demanding, a new single with his day-one Benny The Butcher! As soon you hear the sped up sample that starts “Stash Box,” you know you’re in for something special. It goes without saying that the bars here are ridiculous. Both emcees manage to document their come ups and eventual triumphs in 16 bars a piece.

(CNN) Less than a week after George Washington University announced Jessica Krug would not resume teaching this semester after the professor revealed she had been lying for years about being Black, the school announced she has resigned.

"Dr. Krug has resigned her position, effective immediately. Her classes for this semester will be taught by other faculty members, and students in those courses will receive additional information this week," the university said in a statement obtained by CNN on Wednesday.

It continued, "We hope that with this update our community can begin to heal and move forward."
Requests for comment from Krug, formerly a history professor specializing in Africa and Latin America, have not been returned.

The resignation comes after backlash from Krug's essay, published on September 3, in which Krug admitted to masquerading as North African, African American and "Caribbean rooted Bronx Blackness" throughout her adult life. She is, she said, actually White, Jewish and from Kansas City.
One student at GWU who had a class with Krug told CNN she fronted as an Afro-Latina woman from the Bronx.

Just one day after the essay published, GWU announced Krug would no longer be teaching for the semester while the university reviewed the situation.

Krug apologized for what she called her "continued appropriation of a Black Caribbean identity," saying she was wrong, unethical, immoral, anti-Black and colonial.

"I am not a culture vulture," she wrote. "I am a culture leech."

A South Carolina police chief was stabbed in the face by a man who told him that he was “going to die today” when he answered the door, authorities said.

Bonneau Police Chief Franco Fuda said he heard a knock at the door Monday and went out to meet the suspect, who was later identified as Forrest Bowman, news station WCIV reported.

Fuda said Bowman told him he was “going to die today” and stabbed him under his left eye with an ice pick, leaving him covered in blood, the outlet reported.

The assailant took off for his mobile home and refused to come out in a standoff with authorities, news station WCSC reported, citing authorities.

Berkeley County deputies sent a scout robot into his trailer before making entry to arrest Bowman, who was naked and screaming, authorities said.

A judge denied bond Tuesday night for Bowman, who faces charges that include attempted murder for an assault, the outlets reported.

Social media is outraged after finding out a high school in Texas still sports the mascot the “Cotton Pickers.”

The revelation was brought to light by KIll 3 Sports reporter Chris Thomasson, who tweeted a video on Friday (September 4) of the Robstown High School football team taking the field for their season opener against the London High School Pirates in suburban Corpus Christi.

“The Robstown Cotton Pickers come out before their season opener against London tonight,” Thomasson captioned the tweet.

The tweet subsequently spread all over the social media platform with many stunned that a team name like that could actually still exist. The mascot isn’t subtle either. It depicts a cotton plant.

Thomasson later apologized for the tweet, saying he didn’t mean to cause any controversy and added that he usually refers to the team as the “Pickers.” He also attempted to provide context, claiming “Cotton Pickers” derives from a Latino background, many of whom for generations have picked cotton for a living. He insists it doesn’t come from the slavery stereotype, even though Texas was a slave state prior to and during the Civil War.

The Robstown school board also recently vowed to keep the mascot after consulting the community.

Thomoasson did amit that it’s probably best to change given its connotation to slavery and the continued horrors that befell African Americans during Reconstruction.

No word yet on whether the Robstown school board will reconsider changing the mascot.

George Floyd's family has been informed that his confidential records at the Hennepin County Medical Center were breached multiple times after his death, an attorney for Floyd's family told CBS News. The attorney said Floyd's family received a letter from the medical center announcing the breaches.

"The Floyd family and attorneys were recently made aware of a data breach of George Floyd's confidential information at the Hennepin County Medical Center," attorney Antonio Romanucci said in a statement. "The letter said there were breaches of his data over multiple dates and that the employees involved are 'no longer with the organization.'"

Floyd was brought to Hennepin County Medical Center on the night he died, according to CBS Minnesota. The letter was first reported by The Associated Press.

Romanucci said the letter did not reveal what information was accessed, nor did it specify if the employees involved were fired or if they resigned.

He said the family has not yet requested evidence or issued any subpoenas related to the letter, but added that attorneys are "exploring all of our remedies" to deal with the breaches.

"When George Floyd was desperate for a breath, the city of Minneapolis pushed on his neck further," he said. "And even after death, he was abused and mistreated by the system."

The Hennepin County Medical Center did not confirm that Floyd's data had been breached, citing patient confidentiality, but said in a statement that "Any breach of patient confidentiality is taken seriously and thoroughly investigated. If it is determined that a violation has occurred, disciplinary action up to and including termination can be used."

Floyd, a Black man, died on May 25 after a White police officer kneeled on his neck for more than seven minutes. Four officers have been fired and charged in connection with his death, which sparked months of nationwide protests.

Stack Bundles was on his way to becoming a rap superstar before his life was tragically cut short. The Far Rockaway emcee and Riot Squad boss, was prolific in terms of the amount of music he recorded and released via mixtapes.

Here's a classic called "Desert Storm," where he and the A-Team (Ransom and Hitchcock) spit bars over Nas' "Thief's Theme" instrumental. Fabolous' verse was recorded separately and later added to it.

You can find it on Stack Bundles' "Library of a Rockstar: Chapter 12 - Wolves." Available now: https://open.spotify.com/album/5tJ3OL0F7UBa4g5HBMtgI9

Video After The Jump

San Francisco looks like a city on Mars, or a post-apocalyptic Hollywood movie, but the very real orange glowing sky is the eerie byproduct of raging wildfires across California.

These images are from around midday Wednesday, and as you can see, there's a creepy haze created by plumes of smoke blanketing the city ... making the day seem almost like night. Locals are standing in awe in the streets recording the unique sight.

The smoke is billowing in from east of the city, but it's sitting atop San Francisco's trademark fog ... which is preventing the smoke from coming down to the ground.

Check out the gallery ... if you've ever been to San Fran, you've NEVER seen it like this. It's a pretty surreal sight.

Well, maybe not so surreal for 2020 ... which is a whole vibe now, for sure.

He's charged with one count of second-degree murder and is being held without bond.

Washington (CNN) President Donald Trump admitted he knew weeks before the first confirmed US coronavirus death that the virus was dangerous, airborne, highly contagious and "more deadly than even your strenuous flus," and that he repeatedly played it down publicly, according to legendary journalist Bob Woodward in his new book "Rage."

"This is deadly stuff," Trump told Woodward on February 7.

In a series of interviews with Woodward, Trump revealed that he had a surprising level of detail about the threat of the virus earlier than previously known. "Pretty amazing," Trump told Woodward, adding that the coronavirus was maybe five times "more deadly" than the flu.

Trump's admissions are in stark contrast to his frequent public comments at the time insisting that the virus was "going to disappear" and "all work out fine."

The book, using Trump's own words, depicts a President who has betrayed the public trust and the most fundamental responsibilities of his office. In "Rage," Trump says the job of a president is "to keep our country safe." But in early February, Trump told Woodward he knew how deadly the virus was, and in March, admitted he kept that knowledge hidden from the public.

"I wanted to always play it down," Trump told Woodward on March 19, even as he had declared a national emergency over the virus days earlier. "I still like playing it down, because I don't want to create a panic."

If instead of playing down what he knew, Trump had acted decisively in early February with a strict shutdown and a consistent message to wear masks, social distance and wash hands, experts believe that thousands of American lives could have been saved.

The startling revelations in "Rage," which CNN obtained ahead of its September 15 release, were made during 18 wide-ranging interviews Trump gave Woodward from December 5, 2019 to July 21, 2020. The interviews were recorded by Woodward with Trump's permission, and CNN has obtained copies of some of the audio tapes.

"Rage" also includes brutal assessments of Trump's presidency from many of his former top national security officials, including former Defense Secretary James Mattis, former Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats and former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson. Mattis is quoted as calling Trump "dangerous" and "unfit" to be commander in chief. Woodward writes that Coats "continued to harbor the secret belief, one that had grown rather than lessened, although unsupported by intelligence proof, that Putin had something on Trump." Woodward continues, writing that Coats felt, "How else to explain the president's behavior? Coats could see no other explanation."

The book also contains harsh evaluations of the President's leadership on the virus from current officials.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, the administration's top infectious disease expert, is quoted telling others Trump's leadership was "rudderless" and that his "attention span is like a minus number."

"His sole purpose is to get reelected," Fauci told an associate, according to Woodward.
'The virus has nothing to do with me'

Woodward reveals new details on the early warnings Trump received -- and often ignored.
In a January 28 top secret intelligence briefing, national security adviser Robert O'Brien gave Trump a "jarring" warning about the virus, telling the President it would be the "biggest national security threat" of his presidency. Trump's head "popped up," Woodward writes.

O'Brien's deputy, Matt Pottinger, concurred, telling Trump it could be as bad as the influenza pandemic of 1918, which killed an estimated 50 million people worldwide, including 675,000 Americans. Pottinger warned Trump that asymptomatic spread was occurring in China: He had been told 50% of those infected showed no symptoms.

At that time, there were fewer than a dozen reported coronavirus cases in the US.

Three days later, Trump announced restrictions on travel from China, a move suggested by his national security team -- despite Trump's later claims that he alone backed the travel limitations.

Nevertheless, Trump continued to publicly downplay the danger of the virus. February was a lost month. Woodward views this as a damning missed opportunity for Trump to reset "the leadership clock" after he was told this was a "once-in-a-lifetime health emergency."

SPOKANE, Wash.– A Spokane man has accused unmarked officers of targeting and arresting him for his socialist political views.

Jeremy Logan said he was on his way to a Black Lives Matter protest in downtown Sunday when those agents arrested him and put him in an unmarked van.

4 News Now has confirmed those were detectives from the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, and he was arrested for a 7-year-old warrant.

That warrant came from Douglas County in 2013 for failing to pay fines and appear in court for a drug charge.

We’ve seen federal unmarked agents arresting people in Portland and New York; this is not the same situation. But, the way he was arrested is now raising questions as the Spokane County Jail is already overcrowded and COVID-19 is still a concern.

“I was picked up by unidentified people and thrown into the back of a minivan,” Logan said.

Logan said one agent was wearing a Chicago Cubs shirt. Another, he said, was dressed in all black, and third man had a “militia” look with a vest on. Logan said there were other agents there, too.

Logan believes his political beliefs and active voice towards those beliefs on social media are what caused him to be targeted.

When they arrived to the Spokane County Jail, Logan was handed off to a city police officer.

4 News Now asked the Sheriff’s Office, which said it always prepares for bigger events like Sunday’s protest, and that’s when detectives recognized Logan and arrested him for that old warrant.

“This isn’t about a warrant,” Logan said. “This is because I have leftist politics, and I’ve helped organize Black Lives Matter protests.”

A spokesperson said those detectives were in plain clothes but had a badge visible. Logan disputed that claim and said he didn’t see any of them wearing one.

That spokesperson also said it’s routine for detectives to arrest people for active warrants, but Logan believes it was not done correctly.

He said he asked detectives several times why they were taking him away, and he was told not to worry about it.

When pressed about it, the Sheriff’s Office said Logan posed a threat with some social media posts, and they sent us copies of some of those Friday.

One stated, “I want to take these pigs heads off with a handsaw.”

The other cited lyrics from a song Logan wrote, which called cops “killers.”

The detectives did not use those posts as the basis of Logan’s arrest.

Logan admitted he did post those but said they were not threats.

“Not a threat at all,” Logan said. “It was a statement of my frustration at what happened to George Floyd.”

Logan is the co-chair of a group called Spokane Democratic Socialists, and he also helps lead an organization that assists people in finding apartment rentals.

Now, he and those organizations are asking for change in the Sheriff’s Office, because they believe his rights were violated.

“I would like Sheriff Ozzie to resign,” Logan said. “I would like him to be held accountable.”

Logan spent about 24 hours in the Spokane County Jail and was asked if he’d allow federal agents to question him, but declined.

He was later released after posting bail.

The Sheriff’s Office declined an on-camera interview with 4 News Now.

The Sheriff’s Office also does not have body cams, so this incident likely has no video evidence to back either claims.

Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich is expected to release more details regarding this incident next week, according to a department spokesperson.
