Radio legend Troi Torain (STAR) always delivers hard-hitting objective truth. As a culture critic he is vicious, as a businessman he is relentless, as a luminary he is un-matched.

Considered radio pioneers by many, Star & Buc Wild have set precedents on the urban landscape and were recently inducted into News One's "Top 20 Black Radio Jockeys Of All Time."

Star & Buc Wild made the national stage on MTV (1999) but it was their radio show on New York's Hot 97 (2000 - 2003) that secured their place in Hip-Hop history.

Star & Buc Wild's resume includes The Source magazine, MTV Networks, Hot 97, Power 104.1, Power 105.1, Pulse 87, Hip-Hop Weekly magazine, Vladtv, Thisis50, 100.3 The Beat and shot97.com and VH1 (Reality Television).

This clip is from their LIVE show (12noon -- 2pm) on http://shot97.com.

In an overzealous attempt to be the first news station to report an arrest in the Boston Marathon bombings, CNN mistakenly reported on Wednesday that a "dark skinned male" had been taken into custody. The Associated Press and Fox News quickly followed suit. The only problem was there had not been an arrest at the time, and as of this morning authorities are still looking for the person or persons responsible for the unthinkable act.

CNN reported that the breakthrough came from surveillance footage from Lord & Taylor's department store near the site of the second blast and additional footage from a Boston television station.

I was told they have a breakthrough in the identification of the suspect, and I’m told — and I want to be very careful about this because people get very sensitive when you say these things — I was told by one of these sources who’s a law enforcement official that this was a dark-skinned male,” King reported. “The official used some other words, I’m going to repeat them until we get more information because of the sensitivities. There are some people who will take offense even in saying that.”

CNN's Fran Townsend backed up King's report.

What was perfectly clear to me, according to this official, an arrest has been made,” Townsend said.

45 minutes later, Townsend backtracked on her initial report.

There’s not somebody in custody or arrested,” she stuttered. “The situation is very fluid… There was a misunderstanding. That was said to me, not so much that we had misunderstood, but that there has been a misunderstanding and lots of cross communication.”

PBS anchor Gwen Ifill criticized the station on Twitter for their report.

CNN later gave a statement to The Huffington Post regarding their error.

"CNN had three credible sources on both local and federal levels," the spokesperson said. "Based on this information we reported our findings. As soon as our sources came to us with new information we adjusted our reporting."

Jay-Z is honored by Time magazine as he lands on the cover of their annual issue of The 100 Most Inlfuetial People In the World issue. The 42-year old rapper/business mogul continues to raise the bar by making one power move after the other.

Jay Z embodies so much of what makes New York New York. A kid from a tough neighborhood who grows up in public housing, overcomes lots of bad influences on the street, never lets go of his dream, makes it to the top — and then keeps going, pursuing new outlets for his creativity and ambition. When no one would sign him to a record contract, he created his own label and built a music empire — before going on to design clothing lines, open sports bars and, most recently, represent professional athletes. He’s an artist-entrepreneur who stands at the center of culture and commerce in 21st century America, and his influence stretches across races, religions and regions. He’s never forgotten his roots — “Empire State of Mind” was a love song to our city — and as a co-owner of the NBA Nets, he helped bring a major league sports team back to Brooklyn, not far from his old neighborhood. In nearly everything he’s tried, he’s found success. (He even put a ring on Beyoncé.) And in doing so, he’s proved that the American Dream is alive and well.

Rita Ora is living out her dreams. The Kosovo born, British raised singer is signed to Jay-Z's Roc Nation label and is getting ready to release her self-titled debut album in the U.S. soon.

She looks lovely on the cover of Elle Magazine's "Women In Music" issue. Check out an excerpt from her cover story as well as photos from her shoot with Thomas Whiteside.

On never allowing her record label to dictate her style: "That should never be allowed! It’s like somebody telling you what to sing."

On scoring that red Marchesa gown she wore to the 2012 MTV Europe Music Awards: "I went up to [Marchesa designer Georgina Chapman] and said, 'Hi, I'm Rita. Nice to meet you. I need to wear your dress.' She was like, 'What dress?' They've got 10 million dresses. I said, 'Look, I have your dress as the screen saver on my phone. This red dress needs to be on my body.'"

On her childhood idols, the Spice Girls: "I just remember watching them – not even meeting them – and I was completely mesmerized. It feels great to meet someone who is not human, but is."

On her 2009 "big break" with artist Jay-Z who signed her to his label: "I didn't think in a million years that I'd fly to New York to meet one of the biggest music moguls of our time."
