DMX was arrested this morning in Spartanburg, South Carolina after a routine traffic stop revealed he was driving without a license.
Fox Carolina reports that the 42-year old rapper, real name Earl Simmons, was booked into into the Spartanburg County jail around 2 a.m.
Dark Man appeared before a judge at 6 a.m., paid his fine and was released a short time later.
"[Police] watched me at the gas station get in the car. Then he followed me around the corner," X said after being released. "Pulled me over. First of all he could have pulled me over at the gas station as soon as I got in the car. He didn't do that. He followed me around the corner. Pulled me over, knew I didn't have a license, put the cuffs on me. Brought me here, I paid money, when I could have just paid the money right there on the spot. Basically it was just five hours wasted for nothing. I don't have a court date. I don't have a court appearance. And I had my 5-month old daughter in the car."

NEW YORK — SK Energy Shots, was recognized as #1 in Energy for 2013 by Product of the Year USA. Product of the Year is the world’s largest consumer-voted program that recognizes innovation in consumer packaged goods.
Clean energy is all the rage – and that goes for energy shots too. SK Energy Shots have challenged the status quo with a clean, and socially responsible product that has earned SK Energy Shots the coveted “#1 in Energy” title from Product of the Year USA, 2013.
In a category where customers seemed long resigned to the belief that “energy that works” equates to “energy that hurts,” SK Energy Shots saw an opportunity to offer consumers a “better for you,” tastier source of energy. SK Energy is made with premium ingredients like antioxidants, caffeine from coffee beans, 100% natural flavors, and vitamins A, B6, B8, B12, C and E – and it shuns controversial ingredients that have flooded recent headlines, like taurine, guarana and artificial caffeine. Striking the long-needed balance between potency and purity is a key reason SK Energy was awarded this year’s Energy Product of the Year.
SK Energy has brought new, health-conscious consumers into the energy category and converted existing users who are looking for that better source of energy. Athletes and performers, like five-time Pro Bowl and NFL superstar Wes Welker and wide receiver Miles Austin are among SK’s greatest advocates. Genevieve Boulanger, fitness trainer to the stars, gives SK to her clients so that they can power through two-a-day workouts that get them red carpet ready.
“We all need energy and we all love the way energy makes us feel, but the reality is there were no options for people like us – people who care about what they put into their bodies,” said SK Energy CEO Chris Clarke. “We were driven to create a product that gives consumers the energy boost they are looking for without the compromise and winning 2013 energy product of the year is confirmation of everything we’ve been doing and everything we believe in.”
The SK Energy team members are honored to win this award but their greatest victory is their success in their mission to fight world hunger. Every SK Energy shot sold provides a meal to a hungry child through the United Nations World Food Programme and millions of meals have been already been provided thanks to SK Energy and its consumers.
SK Energy was inspired by such do-good ventures as Tom’s Shoes and FEED, and the company hopes to inspire others to pay it forward.
“Social responsibility is in our DNA and we hope to see a surge in companies and brands giving back to noteworthy causes. The more we promote and motivate organizations to give back, the better the world we all create through business,” said Clarke. “SK’s 2013 Product of the Year Award confirms that consumers value what we value: being the best and being good. We are very proud to provide consumers with clean, world-class energy, and to help children in need while doing it.”
About SK Energy

Every energy shot sold provides a meal to a hungry child through the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP). SK Energy shots are available in 100% natural berry, orange and grape flavors.
