Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks are NBA champions, and they went through LeBron James for that long-awaited first title.

Jason Terry scored 27 points, Nowitzki added 21 and the Mavericks topped the Miami Heat 105-95 in Game 6 of the NBA finals on Sunday night. The Mavericks won four of the series' last five games, a turnabout that could not have been sweeter after seeing the Heat celebrate their first title in Dallas after Game 6 of the 2006 finals.

James scored 21 for Miami, though was largely quiet after the opening minutes. Chris Bosh had 19, Mario Chalmers 18 and Dwyane Wade 17 for the Heat.

When it was over, Mavs owner Mark Cuban ran onto the court to hug coach Rick Carlisle.

And James' wait for his first NBA title will extend into at least his ninth season.

Probably one of the most feared heavyweight fighters in boxing history was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame today (June 12).

Iron Mike Tyson, who became the youngest heavyweight champion in history when he won the belt at 20 years old, was at a loss for words when it came time to receive the honor.

"I've got to be goofy about this or I'll get emotional up here," Tyson said before giving a very short speech, then exiting the stage. "Hey guys, I can't even finish this stuff. Thank you. Thank you."

Sylvester Stallone was also inducted Sunday for writing and acting in the 'Rocky' movies

"There is special reverence for me," Stallone said. "They are the greatest athletes in the world. They are our connection to the past and our way to the future. They are the guys that go in there and take the blows and show that if you really put it out there on the line, you are a champion. You may not be the champion of the world, but you'll be the champion of your life."

Michael Vick knows a lot about second chances, so it was fitting he gave his first ever commencement speech at a high school for troubled teens.

The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback's message was clear to the 450 graduating students from Camelot Academy in Philadelphia. "I lost my freedom. I lost my money and I lost my family. All because of irrational decisions and using poor judgement. Think before you speak, think before you act and think before you make decisions in life," Vick told them.

Camelot’s schools are either for over-age students who have fallen at least two grades behind or have dropped out, or for students who have been expelled for behavioral issues from other schools.

Vick surprised two of the students by giving them $5000 scholarships.

"I was blessed and God gave me a second chance, the world gave me a second chance, the city of Philadelphia gave me a second chance," Vick said. "That's what this is all about. These kids had people around who believed in them and knew they could come out of their situations and make it a positive."

As we previously reported. Tracy Morgan got into some hot water over a homophobic rant he went on during a stand up comedy routine recently in Nashville.

Morgan quickly apologized after GLAAD. the Human Rights Campaign and others condemned his actions.

"I want to apologize to my fans and the gay and lesbian community for my choice of words at my recent stand-up act in Nashville," Morgan told Us Weekly. "I'm not a hateful person and don't condone any kind of violence against others."

That apology did little to quell some people's anger, including Morgan's 30 Rock co-star Cheyenne Jackson.

"I am disgusted and appalled by Tracy Morgan's homophobic rant," Jackson said. "The devastating repercussions of hate-filled language manifest in very real ways for today's LGBTQ youth. I've known Tracy for two years, spent many long hours with him on set, and I want to believe that this behavior is not at the core of who he is. I'm incredibly disappointed by his actions, and hope that his apology is sincere."

One person who appeared to have Morgan's back is now distancing himself from the situation. Chris Rock initially tweeted, "I dont know about you, but I dont want to live in world where Tracy Morgan cant say foul inappropriate sh*t"

But just a day later, Rock did a complete reversal.

"Tracy morgan is a tad off we all know that so when tracy says something i usually don't take it anymore serious than i would a statement from gary busey or flavor flav .when i first heard the statement i thought it was offensive but it also reminded me of my father saying ill kill you if you ever bring home a white girl but after reading everything tracy said . wow i get it that sh*t wasn't called for and i don't support it at all. now can i please go to the tony awards without getting my ass kicked."

Video After The Jump

The recently surfaced video showing Lebron James and Dwayne Wade of the Miami Heat supposedly making fun of Dallas Mavericks player Dirk Nowitski's recent illness drew a quick response from the Dallas player.

Nowitski criticized the two Heat players were not acting their age at the press conference following game 5

"Well I just thought it was a little childish, a little ignorant," Nowitski said. "I've been in this league 13 years and I've never faked an injury or an illness before."

It seems the two sides are playing mind games with each other, but all that matters right now is the final result. So far Dallas is winning 3 games to 2 in the best of 7 series. Which resumes Sunday (6/12/) at 7 P.M. eastern on ABC.

A former San Francisco Bay area transit officer convicted of fatally shooting an unarmed black man is getting released from jail after serving only 11 months of a two-year sentence.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Robert J. Perry ruled yesterday (June 10) that with good-conduct credits and time served, Johannes Mehserle has to be released Monday.

Mehserle shot 22-year old Oscar Grant once in the back as he lay face down on an Oakland train station platform New Years's 2009. Grant was initially pulled off the train for allegedly getting into a fight.

Videotape of the incident, which was caught on camera by train passengers outraged the Oakland community.

Mehserle would later claim at his trial that he mistook his handgun for his taser.

He received two year sentence for involuntary manslaughter after juros ruled that he didn't intend to kill bell, but was negligent in the way he handled the situation.

News of his pending release already has a lot of people upset and protests are already planned in Oakland and Los Angeles.

Oakland Mayor Jean Quan said city officials are ready in case things get out of hand.

Although we expect peaceful gatherings, we do not anticipate nor will we tolerate vandalism or violence. The Oakland Police Department is prepared to respond if personal safety or property are at risk," Quan said in a statement.

T.I. has been quietly serving time behind bars, but took a moment to reconnect with his fans online. The Atlanta rapper, who remains in an Arkansas facility on a probation violation, is expected to be released this fall. In his letter, he thanked his loyal supporters including his peers Lil Wayne, Nelly, Rick Ross, and B.o.B.

To show his appreciation for Team T.I., he plans to release a new song in the next couple weeks. He says that his latest experience has taught him valuable life lessons. “None of them is as strong as my determination to conquer my own imperfections and my will to WIN NO MATTER WHAT!!!” he wrote.

Read Tip’s full message below.

What up world? Been a minute. I’d like to thank you all for the thousands of letters, cards, books, pictures and words of encouragement. I’m truly grateful. I’m sure you already know I’m nearing the end of this chapter of my life, and looking forward to taking all of the things I’ve learned with me while leaving all the rest of the “BS” behind. I’ve been tuned in somewhat to what’s been happening out there. I can’t even begin to tell y’all how much being on the outside looking in, having to witness all that’s going on (and not going on) in the game affects me. Not being able to do what I love especially. It’s like a whole other sentence within itself. But I really do appreciate all the love, respect, shout outs and salutations during this very difficult period in my life. Everybody from da homies Weezy, Killa Mike, R. Rozay my lil bruh B.o.B, Terrence J (106 & Park) and my “durty” Nelly. Regardless of whether the gestures were the greatest or the smallest, they still meant the world to me. REAL TALK. The separation from my art has definitely sparked an inferno of inspiration that will soon be felt by all. As a matter of fact, to show my appreciation to those that have been in support of me and granted the requests of TEAM T.I. I’ll be releasing a record in the near future (couple of weeks tops) to hold y’all over til I get back in action. During this time of seclusion I have developed a mind full of thoughts, ideas, plans and strategies of change to incorporate into my professional endeavors, as well as my personal lifestyle. But none of them is as strong as my determination to conquer my own imperfections and my will to WIN NO MATTER WHAT!!!

I love, respect and appreciate all those who have stood beside me and I have accepted those you didn’t. But one things for sure and two for certain. As long as the Most High blesses me with the ability to live and breathe….My campaign will continue!!! Stronger, smarter, bigger and better than ever. For those that doubt that…See me when they free me.

Love King

Shawty Lo Signs To G-Unit

12348905667?profile=original

Some things are still hard to believe. After three months of speculation, Shawty Lo tells AHH that he’s has signed a deal with 50 Cent’s G-Unit Records.

This is like something before the album, my new situation with G-Unit was just solidified and I got off the phone with 50 yesterday, I just signed a really large deal.

Its like a new beginning and all I needed was someone behind me. 50 [Cent] is a marketing genius and I got my new thing D4L and G-Unit and we going to be working the south and the rest of the world if need be.

In the wake of his new deal, Lo is also released a new mixtape B.H.F. Bankhead Forever hosted by Greg Street.

Video After The Jump

Kim Kardashian has a stunning $2 million dollar engagement ring on her finger courtesy of NBA player Kris Humphries. But there's another gentleman who claims the reality star was getting freaky with him while she should have been spending quality time with Humphries.

Brett Lockett, a player for the NFL's New England Patriots organization maintains that over a five month period, he and Kim K shared an intimate relationship, but did not meet in person. Instead they engaged in sexting and phone sex according to Lockett.

"I've said before that it was a physical relationship, but when I mean physical, I say that meaning there was a physical aspect to the relationship," Lockett told Showbiz Tonight. "I don't really want to get into the details, but she did tell me she was touching herself over the phone in a physical way towards me. So when I say we had a physical relationship, that's what I mean. But was it a physical relationship where I saw her in person, no."

Kim flatly denies the allegations and has threatened to sue Lockett if he doesn't retract his statements.

Kim's lawyer, Michael Kump, told TMZ "To put it very plainly and clearly, and as Mr. Lockett knows, there is not now, and never has been such a relationship. Ms. Kardashian does not know and has never even met Mr. Lockett."

I guess It's a case of he said, she said. Kim is said to be preparing for her wedding so the story obviously didn't damage her relationship with Humphries.

Who do you think is telling the truth?
