We're very sad to report that former Death Row Records singer Jewell has passed away at the age of 54.
Born Jewell Caples, the singer was known as "The First Lady of Death Row." She appeared on many of the labels releases, including 2Pac's "All Eyez On Me," the "Above the Rim" soundtrack," Dr. Dre's "The Chronic," Snoop Dogg's "Murder Was the Case" soundtrack and his "Doggystyle" album.
Daz Dillinger, 1/2 of Tha Dogg Pound, revealed the news via his Instagram page.
"RIP REST N PEACE @iamjewellcaples," he wrote. "IM SAD THIS REALLY HURT BUT JEWELLZ PASSED THIS MORNING. WOW DEATHROW FOR LIFE. WE GONE MISS HER CLASSIC MUSIC. FAMILY OVER EVERYTHING."
No cause of death is known at this time.

DETROIT (ClickOnDetroit) – Officials said they found 18 guns at the home of a Detroit man who was making $2,000 per day by running a marijuana vending machine outside the house.
On Jan. 7, officials with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives received an anonymous tip that a person named Marcellus Cornwell was operating a vending machine on the side of his house & using it to sell marijuana & pills, according to a criminal complaint filed last week.
The tip also claimed Cornwell had numerous firearms & was selling drugs & firearms to minors.
Cornwell is either 42 or 43 years old & lives on Mettetal Street on Detroit’s west side.
He has a criminal history that includes convictions in 1997 for armed robbery & felony firearm, in 2008 for carrying a concealed weapon, in 2009 for felon in possession of a firearm & felony firearm & in 2011 for 3 counts of identity theft.
Officials said Cornwell was sentenced to more than 1 year in prison for each of those convictions.
Cornwell said he had lived at the home on Mettetal Street his entire life. He said he has owned & operated the marijuana vending machine for 4 years, making about $2,000 per day.
Cornwell told officials that there was about $7,000 cash in the safe in his bedroom. An unknown amount of cash was found on Cornwell’s nightstand & about $5,700 was found in a bag in the dining room.
Cornwell told officials multiple times that he makes the majority of his money from the marijuana vending machine.
He said he obtained or bought most of the firearms from people off the street.
The criminal complaint concludes that there’s probable cause to charge Cornwell with felon in possession of a firearm.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The man who tackled comedian Dave Chappelle during a performance at the Hollywood Bowl will not be charged with any felonies.
Lee, is facing 4 misdemeanor charges. Battery, possession of a weapon with intent to assault, unauthorized access to the stage area during a performance & commission of an act that delays the event or interferes with the performer.
Isaiah Lee, 23, was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, police said, after rushing the stage toward the end of Chappelle’s set in the last of a four-night stint at the outdoor amphitheater as part of the “Netflix Is a Joke” festival.
He was carrying a replica handgun with a large blade that folded out of it similar to a pocket knife.
“After reviewing the evidence, prosecutors determined that while criminal conduct occurred, the evidence as presented did not constitute felony conduct,” the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office said in a statement.
The case has been referred to the Los Angeles city attorney’s office, which prosecutes misdemeanors within the city.
Jail records showed Lee was still being held Thursday in lieu of $30,000 bail, Mendez said. The motive for the attack was unclear.
People standing in the wings of the stage, including actor Jamie Foxx and rapper Busta Rhymes, rushed on to the stage to try to help Chappelle.
Security guards chased & overpowered Lee, who was taken away in an ambulance for treatment of an unspecified injury.
Rock was also in the wings of Chappelle’s show, He grabbed the mic & jokingly asked, “Was that Will Smith?”

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Two little boys, Odin Ratliff & Hunter Jackson, both 3 years old, lost their lives police say due to a parolee with an extensive criminal history that the Board of Pardons & Parole continued to grant parole to.
The boys were playing with toy trucks in a small corral at the Cedar Valley Stables when Kent Cody Barlow, 25, a convicted felon on parole, high on meth was traveling up to 100 mph before crashing through several fences & hitting the boys.
Barlow has been in & out of prison & jail & on & off probation & parole in his young life. He was first granted parole on February 19, 2019. By that summer, Barlow began to have problems complying with the terms of his parole agreement.
Six months later, on August 23rd, he absconded from parole. He was seen by Cottonwood Heights Police driving a stolen motorcycle. Barlow then stole a Draper Police car & led police on a high-speed chase before he was eventually captured.
In January 2021, Barlow was convicted of theft, theft by receiving stolen property & counts of failing to stop for police after leading Draper Police on that high-speed chase. Court records show Barlow was sentenced to 1 to 15 years in prison for the incident. The Board of Pardons and Parole revoked his parole last September & turned around & granted Barlow another chance at parole & month later, in October. The question now is why?
Additionally, we obtained an original parole violation hearing recording from the Board of Pardons & Parole which took place on September 16, 2021. The hearing officer read aloud 18 parole violation allegations.
Barlow admitted to 14 of the parole violations during the hearing and denied four of the allegations. His parole was revoked on September 28, 2021. The parole hearing officer asked him what happened after he was paroled. He said, “I went back to the thing I did know which was using drugs & was on a downward spiral from there which led me to committing the crimes I committed on the 23rd,” referring to August 23, 2019. With all that, the Board again granted Barlow parole on October 26, 2021.

Magic Johnson has joined one of the groups bidding for the Denver Broncos, according to Sportico.com. He has partnered with 76ers co-owner Josh Harris.
The NFL has made a recent push to increase minority representation in ownership groups, issuing a league-wide statement in late March: “The NFL member clubs support the important goal of increasing diversity among ownership. Accordingly, when evaluating a prospective ownership group of a member club pursuant to League policies, the membership will regard it as a positive and meaningful factor if the group includes diverse individuals who would have a significant equity stake in and involvement with the club, including serving as the controlling owner of the club.”
Via Sportico.com, it’s expected that every group pursuing the Broncos will have minority representation.
Ultimately, however, it comes down to money. As in which group offers the most of it. No NFL owner will want to take less than the best price available for a franchise. As to the Broncos, the trustees operating the team have a fiduciary duty to maximize the revenue generated by the sale.

HARDIN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Otis Williams Jr., better known by his stage name OJ Da Juiceman, has been booked in the Hardin County Detention Center.
The 40-year-old Atlanta-based rapper is best known for his work with rapper Gucci Mane. Williams was charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Williams has a court date set for May 13.

Ray J is speaking his truth about his ex, Kim Kardashian & that would be ... the infamous sex tape "leak" that put her on the map wasn't an accident at all, but a planned event and the Kardashians were in on it.
The singer spilled the alleged beans to DailyMail.com -- telling the outlet he's furious the Kardashians have essentially accused him of holding an unreleased sex tape over their heads & that he was the one who leaked the OG tape in the first place.
He insists the truth is the exact opposite -- namely, that the "leak" wasn't that at all ... but a systematic deal brokered between himself, Kim & Kris Jenner & Vivid Entertainment.
Here's how it allegedly went down, according to Ray J ... he says that while he & Kim were dating, he jokingly floated the idea of putting out a sex tape of theirs in the wake of Paris Hilton's video leaking -- which elevated her status & celebrity.
While he claims he didn't really mean it, Ray alleges Kim jumped on the idea ... going to her mom, talking it out & then getting the wheels in motion on the whole thing, which he says he was not really privy to until it came to signing away the rights.
Ray says he and Kim both signed a contract, and the rest is history.
It'll be interesting to see how the Kardashians respond, especially since Kris/Kim have long denied being involved in the release of the tape ... despite most people not believing them.
