NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Disturbing new details were released Tuesday in the death of Ayden Wolfe, a 10-year-old boy from Harlem.

His mother’s boyfriend, 34-year-old Ryan Cato, was arraigned on murder charges overnight.

According to the criminal complaint, Wolfe’s body was covered from head to toe with bruises and abrasions. He suffered multiple internal injuries, including broken ribs and liver and kidney lacerations.

A neighbor told investigators they heard a man yelling inside the apartment and banging against the wall the day Wolfe died and the day before.

Cato has three prior arrests, most recently for domestic violence last December.

Zoee8 Drops “Stomp” @trillestent

12353691474?profile=original

Zoee8‘s new single, “Stomp,” is a celebration – Of life. It is of a new commitment to his purpose in life and being given a chance to fulfill that purpose. It is also a middle finger to the doubters, shade throwers, and those that tried to kill him.

Recently left for dead after a shooting incident, Zoee8 is determined to both prove them wrong and make good use of the second chance he was given.

“I came up with the song Stomp because I didn’t die. Now, I see what I’m meant to be, and I’m gonna stomp on all the haters. ” He explains.

That’s not to say, though, that Zoee8’s newfound purpose is all founded in revenge. He is a hero to the kids in his 8th Ward neighborhood – routinely arranging clothing giveaways, events to help the homeless, or being that guy the kids hit up for allowance money.

“Stomp” is a testament to Zoee8’s resilience. To his refusal to lay down no matter what. The song is being released by UVF ENT/Bang Bang Music Group.

"GoodTime" featuring Che Noir and Stove God Cooks is my favorite song off of Ransom's "Crime Scenes" EP. The cinematic production from Nicholas Craven provides the perfect canvas for the three emcees to paint a vivid verbal portrait.

The song doesn't have an official visual, but fortunately On Q Visuals comes through with a dope lyric video for it.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — A central California woman charged with murder after delivering a stillborn baby who tested positive for methamphetamine will be released to a drug treatment center as her lawyers argue that the state’s homicide law does not apply to pregnant women, a position backed by California’s attorney general.

Chelsea Becker, 26, has been in a Kings County jail since her arrest in November 2019, unable to raise $2 million bail. Kings County Superior Court Judge Robert Shane Burns on Tuesday granted her attorneys’ request to release her to an out-of-county residential treatment center pending trial. She has pleaded not guilty.

Prosecutors say the case is about stopping a woman who has repeatedly abused narcotics while pregnant, resulting in two other babies who tested positive for meth at birth.

“Despite Ms. Becker’s lengthy and continual history of using illegal narcotics and failed attempts at recovery, we maintain hope in her recovery and her ability to stop choosing drugs over her children,” said Phil Esbenshade, the top assistant district attorney in Kings County, about her release.

The case has outraged advocates of pregnant women who say overzealous prosecutors are trying to punish a woman who needs treatment, and not prison time, and they hope the charges will soon be thrown out. There is no evidence that drug use results in stillbirths, they say, and allowing the charges would have a chilling effect: preventing women from seeking needed prenatal care.

“We are deeply saddened, horrified that this case has been continuing for 15 months, keeping someone incarcerated because she lost a pregnancy, which thousands of women do every year,” said Lynn Paltrow, executive director of National Advocates for Pregnant Women, which is providing legal support for Becker.

A New Jersey woman was sentenced to 50 years in a state prison Thursday after she was convicted of forcing a 17-year-old girl to engage in prostitution at hotels throughout Mercer County, New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal said.

Ashley Gardener, 32, from Trenton, was convicted of first-degree human trafficking, as well as charges of facilitating human trafficking, promoting prostitution of a minor, promoting organized street crime & child endangerment. Gardner will be required to register under Megan’s Law & be subject to parole supervision for life.

An investigation began when the 17-year-old victim escaped from a hotel where Gardener & her co-defendant, 28-year-old Breon Mickens, were forcing her to engage in sex work.

On Jan. 11, 2018 at 11 p.m., state troopers were dispatched to investigate after the woman was seen walking along I-295 in Lawrence Township. When they found her, she told them she was escaping from a hotel where she was forced to perform sex acts.

Investigators found out that Gardener & Mickens took the victim to hotels against her will to engage in sexual intercourse with anywhere from 4 to 15 men each day between Dec. 27 & Jan. 11, all the while being deprived of food, given marijuana to smoke & prohibited from contacting family. They also placed sexually suggestive ads featuring photos of the underage girl on Backpage.com that listed Gardener’s phone number.

Mickens served as the “muscle” for the operation, according to the state, as well as a driver who was paid by Gardener to take her & the victim to hotels. The victim never received any of the money.

Shortly after the victim was found, Gardener was arrested, with Mickens arrested on Jan. 14. Gardener & Mickens were charged following an investigation by state police, Mercer County prosecutors, local police, department of children & families for the state & U.S. Marshals. Mickens pleaded guilty to second-degree conspiracy & got five years in prison in November of 2019.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A federal judge in California has ruled that Kobe Bryant’s widow, Vanessa Bryant, can obtain the names of 4 Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies who allegedly shared graphic photos from the site of the helicopter crash that killed her husband, their daughter Gianna & seven others.

An effort by Los Angeles County lawyers to keep the deputies’ names under seal was rejected Monday by U.S. District Judge John F. Walter.

The ruling means the names & details from an internal affairs investigation of the deputies could be added to Vanessa Bryant’s lawsuit against the county & the Sheriff’s Department. The county, however, can appeal the decision.

Kobe Bryant & the others were killed Jan. 26, 2020, when the helicopter they were aboard crashed west of Los Angeles in the hills of Calabasas.

The Los Angeles Times later reported that an investigation found deputies shared photos of victims’ remains. Vanessa Bryant sued, seeking damages for negligence & invasion of privacy.

County lawyers argued that the deputies’ names should remain under seal because releasing them would make it easy for hackers to locate their personal information & addresses.

The judge wrote that Sheriff Alex Villanueva’s “promise to publicly release the (internal affairs bureau) report after the conclusion of the investigation undermines Defendants’ purported concern in the disclosure of the limited excerpts at issue here.”

The judge also wrote that the public has a vested interest in assessing the truthfulness of allegations of police misconduct.

The people who stole Lady Gaga's 2 French Bulldogs & shot her dogwalker may have been part of a gang initiation, & the woman who found the dogs hasn't received her $500,000 reward because cops have not yet cleared her ... sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ.

Our sources say ... cops told Gaga NOT to pay the reward she offered unless, & until, they determine the finder had no involvement in the crime. We're told cops don't believe the woman was part of the dognapping, but they're trying to figure out if she had any involvement after the fact.

Again, they don't know she's involved, but they're investigating. We're told Gaga is more than willing to pay the woman if she's cleared by cops.

What's more ... our sources say cops believe the dognapping & shooting of the dogwalker may have been a gang initiation. We're told there have been similar crimes in the L.A.-area recently & this may well have been the M.O. in the Gaga case.

It's interesting ... if you look at the surveillance video of the crime, Ryan Fischer, the dogwalker, was not even near the dogs when he was shot in the chest. The dogs were to the other side of the dognappers. They could easily have just put the dogs in the car & taken off, yet they chose to shoot Ryan. That lends credence to the gang initiation theory.

The good news ... the dogs were unharmed & safe, but the case is far from over.

PROSPECT LEFFERTS GARDENS, Brooklyn (WABC) -- The NYPD released new video of the gunman who opened fire & wounded 2 officers in Brooklyn.

The incident happened Sunday night in a stairwell of an apartment in Prospect Lefferts Gardens where a gunman first opened fired on his roommate & then on officers.

One officer was grazed in the leg & a second was struck in his bulletproof vest. They were both taken to Kings County Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The suspect who shot at officers was 44-year-old Ridhwaan Abdur Rashid. He was charged with attempted murder of a police officer, attempted murder & criminal possession of a weapon & unlawful imprisonment.

The officers, assigned to the 71st Precinct, responded to a 911 call of a man shot by his roommate at around 9:15 p.m.

The man made the 911 call from the closet of his second floor apartment on Hawthorne Street, where he was hiding from the armed suspect.

When police arrived, 44-year-old Ridhwaan Abdur Rashid exited the apartment with a blanket over his shoulders.

The officers, who were all in a single-file line outside of the apartment in the stairwell, then engaged with him in conversation regarding the 911 call when authorities say the suspect pulled out a 38 caliber revolver from under the blanket & displayed it toward the officers.

Police say the officers then drew their weapons & stated multiple times for Abdur Rashid to drop his weapon, but he ignored the commands & opened fire on the officers.

The officers returned fire & the suspect retreated to the apartment. The gunman, who was uninjured, was taken into custody after hostage negotiators were called, police said.

Video After The Jump

SPRINGFIELD GARDENS, Queens (WABC) -- The NYPD released body camera footage Friday of a November 2020 shooting that shows the suspect in a domestic violence case entering a home in Queens and opening fire on two officers and his alleged victim.

Both officers -- Joseph Murphy and Christopher Wells -- were wounded but were able to return fire, killing the gunman, identified as 41-year-old Rondell Goppy.

The incident happened around 12:45 p.m. on November 24, at a home on 179th Street near 146th Road in Springfield Gardens.

Authorities say a 41-year-old woman had walked into the 105th Precinct to report the domestic violence case, and the officers then accompanied her back to the residence to collect her belongings.

The video shows them talking with the woman in her living room, when all of the sudden, Goppy appears at the front door and opens fire without saying a word.

He fired 11 shots in total, striking Officer Wells in the thigh and Officer Murphy in both of his hands. The officers fired 24 shots, striking Goppy several times.

Law enforcement officials say it's a miracle they survived.

"This video is chilling and difficult to watch, but it makes one thing clear: Police Officers Wells and Murphy saved lives," PBA President Patrick Lynch said. "They saved the lives of that domestic violence victim and her children, and they saved each other's lives - all because they had the training, skill and courage of New York City police officers. For anyone questioning whether we need police officers responding to these types of situations, this video is the answer."

Wells is a 14-year NYPD veteran, while Murphy has been with the force since 2015.

"They saved that woman's life," Mayor Bill de Blasio said after the shooting. "I want to be crystal clear. Because these officers were there, that woman is alive."

The female victim was not injured and can be seen on the video running for cover.

The officers were released from the hospital on Thanksgiving morning to bagpipes and the applause of fellow officers.

"There is no surprise here today what we have to be thankful for," Police Commissioner Dermot Shea said after the two officers left Jamaica Hospital.

Officials said Goppy had a history of domestic violence and that the home was the site of four prior domestic violence calls.

Florida music artist CJ The Visionary has released his first single titled “Fall Back”. The upbeat hook in “Fall Back” is catchy and fun. “Fall Back” is a song about enjoying life, having fun, and telling people to be themselves instead of trying to be like others. The single is available on all major streaming music platforms.

“Stop trying to be like everybody else. Fall back and be yourself”, says CJ The Visionary.”

CJ The Visionary is a Central Florida-based R&B music artist, host on the Reality Intercepted podcast, shoe designer, and CEO/co-creator of the On Repeat music video channel. The single trails right behind the launch of the On Repeat streaming channel that is on Roku and Amazon Fire TV.

CJ always had a passion for music and started singing in the church choir during his childhood years. He was inspired by artists such as Michael Jackson, Prince, James Brown, Marvin Gaye, and Teddy Pendergrass. He was drawn in by the passion and soul that was infused in their music. When he saw Michael Jackson perform at the Grammys, he knew that he wanted to pursue music.

CJ was a member of a few music groups throughout the years, but since the members weren’t on the same page, the plans fell through. Life hit him and he put his music on the back burner, but continued to write songs over the years because he knew he would eventually come back to his first love…music.

“Fall Back” is out now.

The stepfather of a 10-year-old boy who was found bludgeoned to death in the family’s Harlem apartment was charged with the youngster’s slaying Sunday, sources said.

Ryan Cato, 34, was charged with murder and endangering the welfare of a child in the death of the boy at Saint Nicholas Houses on Saturday afternoon, the sources said.

Police responding to the scene said they found the boy, identified by cops as Ayden Wolfe, with “severe trauma” throughout his body, with signs of both new and old injuries.

Ayden was unconscious and unresponsive in the living room when cops arrived, police said.

He was rushed to Harlem Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, police said.

Neighbors described the boy as a quiet “little angel” who rarely made “a peep.”
