When it comes to finding what the New York sound is, many still debate, however, Brooklyn's own Maino admits that though the original sound ceases to exist, current music by New Yorkers have been influenced by different markets. In this interview, he gives his thoughts on the New York sound and why fellow Brooklynite, Desiigner's similar cadence to Future is allowed these days in Hip-Hop.

Drake is celebrating two big accomplishments this week.
His "Views" album moved an impressive 1.04 million equivalent album units for the week ending May 5. The number for traditional sales came in at 852,000, which will be good enough to overtake Beyonce's "Lemonade" disc for number one on the Billboard 200 chart.
Drizzy is probably even more proud of the fact that his song "One Dance" featuring WizKid and Kyla has pushed past Desiigner's "Panda" to claim the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100, giving the Toronto native his first number one single as a lead artist, according to Billboard.
Impressive...

Portland's own Sourmouth is back with his third video from his upcoming "A Million Little Pieces" album and this time, he tackles the subject of a "Basic Bitch". Not intended to offend the ladies, Sourmouth takes aim at that specific demographic and goes into great detail in the release. The instrumental has a ragtime feel to it as it features samples from that time era. The PDX rhymer refers to his clever wit to put a humorous twist on the subject, even taking a stab at Caitlyn Jenner mid-song. As with his two previous videos, Mr. Federal mans the camera lens as he continues honing his director / editor skills. "A Million Little Pieces" is slated to release on June 1st and is available for pre-order via iTunes.

Ja Rule is finding out the hard way that the internet has no mercy. The New York rapper is trending worldwide after tweeting that Michael Jordan gets paid every time his infamous crying meme gets posted.
"This why I love America while we all laughing at the Jordan crying face he gets a 1$ every time it gets post. Jokes on us!!!" Ja wrote on Monday, May 9th.
What's bananas is that he got the idea that you could get paid for getting photoshopped from a website called TMZComedy.
Ja quickly deleted the tweet, but it was too late. Check out a sample of the hilarious reactions below.

Dolo - Wake Em Up
Born Darius Kwmane Berry in the cold streets of Louisville Kentucky on May 13th, 1992, Dolo grew up in the west end of Louisville were its very drug and crime infested. He made his first recording in an actual studio at the age of ten years old on the end of one of his fathers, Kwmane Berry records. As a child Dolo looked up to his father who was heavily involved in the rap game as a local artist. Rap readily became an outlet for the young child to express his feelings and actions. Dolo was also the oldest child of his mother, Lynn Berry’s three children. On his matriculation through life many times he had to play as an authoritative figure for his younger siblings. With everything Dolo had to face in life, rapping became the outlet for him to express himself. Even as a student in school at each grade level his teachers noticed that he was exceptionally well in writing and poetry. His peers began to notice him in his high school days because he used to engage in many freestyle battles before and after school where he would have to uphold his reputation of being the nicest MC around. Rapping came very natural for the aspiring artist in High School he formed a rap group with two of his closest friends and they were called the “Blue Boyz”. The group came together and made a wide range of songs but never seemed to push themselves to become known to the world. This group of friends continued to make songs for about 4 years making a bunch of great songs to end up just making hits for their own ears to acknowledge.
After he graduated high school he moved to Raleigh, North Carolina to attend Shaw University on a Track and Field scholarship. Where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in political science in May of 2014. During his college years he focused on his schooling and placed his rapping career in the backseat. To only resurface his dreams of becoming a major rap artist and now once again he is a force to reckon with!

In 1988, the Beastie Boys parted ways with Def Jam after releasing their debut album, Licensed to Ill, and Russell Simmons revealed to VladTV that the parting was due to the Beastie Boys not getting along. He explained that they were young at the time, and he added that Rick Rubin thought the rappers were being placated and not being made to work properly.
During the conversation Russell also revealed that "(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party!)" wasn't the label's choice for the Beastie Boys' first single, as he explained that the radio took it and made it a huge hit.

It appears that a boxing match between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Conor McGregor could actually happen.
Last week there was a report published The Sun that said a fight between the two was imminent. It was generally dismissed as a rumor by most, but Floyd has confirmed the bout is a possibility.
"It's possible...it was a name that was shot at me," Floyd told Fighhype following the Amir Khan/ Canelo Alvarez fight in Vegas Saturday, May 7. "The rumors that y'all been hearing is the rumors that I started. It may not be a rumor. Keep y'all fingers crossed. It may be a boxer versus an MMA fighter."
Floyd added that it would take at least $100 million to get him to come out of retirement. A win would up his record to 50-0, breaking the record he shares with Rocky Marciano for the most victories without a loss.
On Sunday morning, May 8, McGregor shared what could be a poster for the match on his Twitter page.

Conor is under contract with the UFC. He can't fight outside of the organization without their blessing.
UFC President Dana White dismissed the Sun report as being "completely fiction, this is like bottom-feeder ... stuff."
"We're his promoter. We'd have to make the fight," White told the Los Angeles Times on Friday.
At the end of the day this will come down to how much money could be generated. The UFC could possibly work out a deal with Mayweather Promotions that would allow the bout to take place.
Mystic Mac is 19-3 as a professional mixed martial artist. The 27-year old reportedly has a boxing background dating back to when he was 12 and incorporates it into his mma training.
Most experts don't believe McGregor has a chance to beat Mayweather in a boxing match. Check out commentary from Max Kellerman and Adrien Broner below and let us know your thoughts on the potential fight.
