A city councilman in Rhode Island was caught sleeping behind the wheel of his car with a crack pipe in his hand.
The arrest, all caught on video, shows the councilman asleep with a crack pipe before officers wake him.
A concerned passerby had seen Matthew Reilly and called police.
Police also found a bag of cocaine at the scene.
Even officers seemed to be shocked by what they found.
"You're a councilman in Cranston, smoking crack, with crack on you. What do you think the constituents would say?" An officer asked Reilly, bodycam footage shows.
Reilly told them he had smoked crack earlier at his home after being clean for 13 years.
He says he relapsed due to a bad divorce.
Reilly, who is an attorney, also resigned as chairman of the Cranston Republican Party.
The song, American Revival, was as most of the songs I write, first written for my church (I am a pastor). I do not shy away from end time discussions, nor do I shy away from Bible prophecy. Hence this song epitomizes today’s culture and the need for a revival in this country. Many of the signs of the times are included in the lyrics of the song and many would say these are “end time” signs. Therefore the last verse states that America needs a revival before the end begins. I strongly feel that the Holy Spirit has a significant impact on not only my life but also my song writing. This song is certainly no exception.
This song along with four others, soon to be released, was recorded at OmniSound Studios in Nashville TN. These songs were produced by Dean Miller. I feel that by taking this project to Nashville there was a certain country rock music flare infused into each of these songs. I know that only by Divine Intervention did Dean Miller, son of Roger Miller, and owner of Dean Miller Entertainment, notice me on the internet and extend an invitation to go down there and record. I in no way sought him out nor had any intention of going to Nashville to record music. I certainly am glad that I did.

MEXICO CITY (AP) — A Mexican woman who strangled a man to death while defending herself when he attacked & raped her in 2021 was sentenced to more than 6 years in prison.
The ruling against Roxana Ruiz spurred anger from experts & feminist groups who said it speaks to the depth of gender-based violence & Mexico’s poor record of bringing perpetrators of sexual violence to justice.
While the Mexico State court found Monday that Ruiz had been raped, it said the 23-year-old was guilty of homicide with “excessive use of legitimate defense,” adding that hitting the man in the head would have been enough to defend herself. Ruiz was also ordered to pay more than $16,000 in reparations to the family of the man who raped her.
In May 2021, Ruiz was working selling french fries in Nezahualcoyotl, one of the 11 municipalities in the Mexico State with an ongoing gender alert for femicides & another one for forced disappearances of women.
While having a beer with a friend, Ruiz, a Indigenous Mixteca woman & a single mother from the state of Oaxaca, met a man she had seen around the neighborhood. After hanging out, he offered to walk her home & later asked to stay the night because it was late & he was far from home.
Ruiz agreed to let him sleep on a mattress on the floor. But while she slept he climbed onto her bed, hit her, tore off her clothes & raped her, according to Ruiz’s legal defense. Ruiz fought back, hitting him in the nose.
He threatened to kill her & in the struggle that followed, Ruiz grabbed a T-shirt & used it to strangle her attacker.
In a panic, Ruiz put the man’s body in a bag & dragged it out to the street where passing police arrested her.

AP — A grand jury has indicted a man who was already charged in the stabbing deaths of 4 University of Idaho students.
Bryan Kohberger was arrested late last year & charged with burglary & 4 counts of first-degree murder in connection with the Nov. 13, 2022, killings of Xana Kernodle, Ethan Chapin, Madison Mogen & Kaylee Goncalves at a rental home near the University of Idaho campus. At the time, Kohberger was a graduate student studying criminology at nearby Washington State University & the killings left the close-knit communities of Moscow, Idaho & Pullman, Washington, reeling.
Court documents have already detailed much of the investigation that prosecutors say ties Kohberger to the slayings. A white sedan allegedly matching 1 owned by Kohberger was caught on surveillance footage repeatedly cruising past the rental home on a dead-end street around the time of the killings. Police say traces of DNA found on a knife sheath inside the home where the students were killed matches that of the 28-year-old Kohberger. Investigators also contend that a cellphone belonging to Kohberger was near the victims’ home on a dozen occasions prior to the killings, though it was apparently turned off around the time of the early-morning attack.
Kohberger was arrested Dec. 30, 2022, at his parents’ home in eastern Pennsylvania & law enforcement officials seized dark clothing, medical gloves, a flashlight & other items from the home. In Pullman, investigators seized stained bedding, strands of what appeared to be hair & a single glove from his WSU campus apartment.
Still, the unsealed court documents do not appear to suggest a motive.
Kernodle, Chapin, Mogen & Goncalves were friends & members of the university’s Greek system. The 3 women lived together in the rental home. Chapin — Kernodle’s boyfriend — was there visiting on the night of the attack.
A successful rapper used earnings from his music career to promote gun violence in Brooklyn, prosecutors alleged Tuesday.
Michael Williams, known as Sheff G, is among 32 purported street gang members charged Tuesday in a series of shootings in Brooklyn that left one person dead & a dozen more injured.
The defendants are all members of 8 Trey Crips & its affiliate, the 9 Ways gang & allegedly committed shootings, possessed guns & used stolen cars to eliminate rivals that included members of Folk Nation Gangster Disciples & ICG Babiiez.
The indictment covers 27 alleged acts of violence, including 12 shootings.
"The senseless gun violence, allegedly committed by these defendants, terrorized our neighbors for years & left more than a dozen people with serious injuries. It is distressing to know that some of the violence was allegedly fueled by a young man who used money he made from a successful music career to allegedly pay for & encourage acts of violence," Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez said.
Williams offered money & expensive jewelry to those who carried out acts of violence, prosecutors said.'
The indictment also outlined 1 shooting in which Williams allegedly coordinated a group of 3 shooters, drove those shooters to the crime scene & then acted as the getaway driver.
One of the charges stems from a mass shooting on Oct. 21, 2020, where 1 defendant, Kamondre Dekattu, is allegedly captured on surveillance video emerging from the sunroof of a white Infiniti & opening fire while other individuals fired guns from the driver's side & rear driver's side windows.
An alleged Folk Nation rival, Theodore Senior, 23, was killed & 5 other alleged Folk Nation members were shot & injured.
Dekattu is charged with the murder and his co-conspirators, including Williams and his sister, Crystal Williams, are charged with being part of the conspiracy to commit murder, for this incident & others.
Two days after the homicide, Michael Williams allegedly hosted a lavish dinner with his fellow 8 Trey Crips & 9 Ways members, including Tegan Chambers, at a Manhattan steakhouse to celebrate the death of Theodore Senior & the injuries of the 5 other shooting victims.
"Sheff G became a prominent member of this gang & became central to our investigation," Gonzalez said during a news conference. "Sheff G used a lot of the money that he earned to facilitate further gang activity. He encouraged gang members to participate in violent crimes."

AP — When researchers at a nonprofit that studies social media wanted to understand the connection between YouTube videos & gun violence, they set up accounts on the platform that mimicked the behavior of typical boys living in the U.S.
They simulated 2 9-year-olds who both liked video games, especially 1st-person shooter games. The accounts were identical, except that 1 clicked on the videos recommended by YouTube & the other ignored the platform’s suggestions.
The account that clicked on YouTube’s suggestions was flooded with graphic videos about school shootings, tactical gun training videos & how-to instructions on making firearms fully automatic. 1 video featured an elementary school-age girl wielding a handgun; another showed a shooter using a .50 caliber gun to fire on a dummy head filled with lifelike blood & brains. Many of the videos violate YouTube’s own policies against violent or gory content.
Despite YouTube’s rules & content moderation, the platform is failing to stop the spread of frightening videos that could traumatize vulnerable children or send them down dark roads of extremism & violence.
1 of the videos recommended for the accounts was titled “How a Switch Works on a Glock,” was removed. An identical video popped up 2 weeks later with an altered name; it's still available.
Perpetrators behind many recent mass shootings used social media & streaming platforms to glorify violence or even livestream their attacks. In posts on YouTube, the shooter that killed 17 in the 2018 Parkland attack wrote “I wanna kill people,” “I’m going to be a professional school shooter” & “I have no problem shooting a girl in the chest.”
