MTV Reports'Despite my past and stuff like that, I appreciate all of y'all,' Brown tells fans at the New Jersey concert, which also featured Fabolous and The-Dream.EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey — Chris Brown is getting back to the music. After making headlines this year for his February assault of then-girlfriend Rihanna, Brown made serious movement in his musical comeback on Tuesday (October 27) with the premiere of his "I Can Transform Ya" video and a headlining performance at Power 105.1's Powerhouse '09 concert.Incidentally, the New York radio station hosted a comeback show for R. Kelly when he was facing legal woes back in 2003. Much like Kelly six years ago, the Powerhouse fans embraced Brown with cheers and singing of their own. After openers The-Dream, Fabolous, Day26, Trey Songz, Keri Hilson and Mario, Brown had his spotlight. Most of the opening acts were eager to see Chris get back to where he belongs: entertaining. Instead of taking off after their performances, you could see Hilson, Songz and Day26 by the side of the stage waiting to see what Brown would do."Chris is a performer. In spite of all that's been going on in his personal life, he's gonna get out there and perform," Songz said before Brown hit the stage. "I'm confident in that. As a friend, as a brother, I wanna see him go out there and shut it down. I believe everybody deserves a second chance. In God's eyes, none of us are perfect, and he forgives us every day. He deserves a second chance, and I commend Power 105 for giving it to him."There was an immediate roar in the crowd as Brown came out in a black-and-red jacket that looked like a futuristic version of what Michael Jackson wore in the "Thriller" video. Brown wasted no time in getting to his new material, starting with "I Can Transform Ya." Chris began at the back of the stage with his dancers, who were all dressed in black up to their face-covering motorcycle helmets. Brown started singing and walking to the front of the stage, where Swizz Beatz also emerged to rap the song's hook."Wall to Wall" followed, with more high-powered dancing. In the middle of the record, Brown's DJ played Jay-Z's "On to the Next" during a choreographed breakdown. Leg kicks, krumping, slides — Brown's arsenal seems to have expanded."Gimme That" was next, and Brown reminded the crowd that he's getting older on the opening lyric: "The young boy now is 20." Shortly after, Brown's DJ asked him how he felt. The singer let the music speak for him as the Clipse's "I'm Good" came on.Brown and two backup dancers walked from the back to the front of the stage with a bop and arms folded. They leaned to the left on the song's chorus, leaned to the right, then they all dropped down low. "Yo" came next, followed by "Take You Down." The latter was Brown in full heartthrob mode. Brown didn't last the entire record without ripping off of his black tank top. The ladies voiced their approval with screams.Juelz Santana came out as special guest to debut his new single with Brown, "Back to the Crib." Next, Brown slowed the tempo and had thousands of backup singers in the crowd on his hit "With You.""Are y'all glad Chris is back doing shows?" Brown's DJ asked the audience. The fans screamed with praise.Brown finally spent some time speaking to the audience after they sang Jordin Sparks' parts on "No Air." "Despite my past and stuff like that, I appreciate all of y'all," he said. His words were barely audible because of the cheering. The singer also promised to be a better man. "How long we gonna do this for? We gonna do this forever!" he also promised.Of course, "Forever" closed the show."It was dope. I loved it," Omarion said after the show. "It's amazing to be able to come out and support my peers. Chris came and did his thing, all the time. Yeah, CB, he's ready. He's right and he's ready. It's time.""Excuse my French, but that mutha----in' boy killed that sh--!" Polow Da Don exclaimed after watching Brown. "The energy was crazy. You could tell that's something that's missing in the game. He's the absolute truth. He's the future."Earlier in the night, Mario paraded out a host of surprises during his short set. Maino came out for "All the Above," then Red Cafe joined the party with "Hottest in the Hood." Jim Jones later came out for "We Fly High." Jones was joined by DJ Webstar for "Dancin' on Me." Finally, Sean Garrett came out for the smash "Break Up."Keri Hilson, the lone female on the bill, lit up the mic with "Turnin' Me On," "Knock You Down" and Timbaland's "The Way I Are." Trey Songz was combustible with his hits "Successful" and "I Invented Sex."

Ballerstatus Reports Sizzurp is a mixture prescription-strength cough syrup containing codeine and soda. Although, the concoction originated in the south, rappers like Dipset and Lil Wayne have popularized it across the nation. The drink, or drank as it's also referred to, has gotten so big in the south that two different beverage companies are trying to capitalize on its popularity with newly released beverages -- one called "Drank" and the other labeled "Sippin' Syrup." Both drinks labels themselves as "anti-energy" drinks that provide "extreme relaxation." However, the ingredients are not harmful. They contain Melatonin, a natural substance that helps you sleep; and Valerian Root, which is used medicinally for insomnia and other disorders. On the official website for Drank (DrankBeverage.com), it says: "The first EXTREME RELAXATION drink to hit the market. DRANK, the new drink design to calm and relax you." According to local news station KBMT12, stores in Southeast Texas have started to stock their shelves with them, and local law enforcement and parents are concerned, calling both products a gateway to using other harmful and illegal substances. "It is such an obvious gateway product to one of the most dangerous drugs in our area," Major Jim Singletary who works in the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, told the new channel. "We got enough problems with kids experimenting with the real thing," he added, "now the younger kids will be able to buy something like this until they can buy the real thing." Parents seem to agree with Singletary. Johnny Davison, who has four kids, says he is making sure his children stay away from the drink. "You hear it all the time on the rap tapes," he said. "If kids see it they're going to think it's something good." They just may have a point too. 18-year-old Jackie Robinson told the news station that he just started drink "Sippin' Syrup" just because of its name. "I ain't gonna lie it really do," Robinson said, as he sipped his drink. "It probably attracts a lot of people from the name too. "To put sippin syrup they're going to make some money," he added.

Officer Ricky Ross has done some suspect things in the past that by now we are all well aware of. Recently though, I have found out the Ross fuckery goes far beyond his once hidden background as a correctional officer. Less than two years ago "The Bawse" heard a record titled "On My Trail" from an up and coming independent east coast artist by the name of L.A. which featured Akon on the hook. Ross loved the song, as a matter of fact he loved it so much he decided to jack it. At the time this was L.A.'s first official single and was starting to get play on east coast radio stations. The song was the "Pick Of The Week" two weeks in a row on Miss Jones Hot 97 radio show. L.A.'s manager, June lived in Miami at the time, so they decided to try to get the record some exposure there. It was played on Power 96.5 and things were looking good. At the same time several record labels (Universal Motown, Universal SRC and Jive) were starting to show interest. However during their meetings with those labels they kept hearing the same thing about their song "Isn't this a Rick Ross/Flo Rida joint?" They also started getting resistance from Core DJ's for the very same reason. None of this made sense to either of them until they heard Rick Ross's version of their song. He had taken the hook, switched up the beat and changed the name from "On My Trail" to "On The Run" featuring Brisco and Flo Rida. Now you have to understand that around this time Flo Rida was becoming a big name with his hit record "Low" and Rick Ross was also established in the industry. L.A. being an independent artist struggling to get his foot in the door has been fighting an uphill battle trying to get the truth out ever since. L.A.'s version was recorded in August 2007. The Ross version began to circulate somewhere around July 2008 Check out both songs below and you can still hear L.A.'s voice ad libbing on the hook of the Ross version. Also below listen to Miss Jones and DJ Envy introducing the original song on Hot 97 -- ChasinDatPaper Miss Jones & DJ Envy Introducing "On My Trail" by L.A. HipHopWired Reports Watts finest Jay Rock has been on a roll this month with a 30-day assault of music to the Internet. While his Warner Bros. debut is still in the making, Jay Rock spoke to Hip-Hop Wired about the major flood of music and the hold up of his album after releasing the bang out single “All My Life (Ghetto)” with Weezy F. Baby over a year ago. “Basically what I'm doing, I don't want to be one of those dudes that put out an album just for the sake of saying I have an album out and it don't do nothing. I feel like when I got the right support, I feel like when I got everybody behind me, and basically I got the world on my shoulders and everybody supporting me, then I'll drop the album. But right now I'm just gone continue to feed the streets until I know I got everybody's attention. I just need that support. When I drop my album, I want it to do what it's supposed to do.” Not one to rest on just that, Jay Rock also announced that he will be dropping an official single with a “big surprise” on it at the end of the month. Speaking on what made him come up with the “30-Day Takeover,” he said, “My pops had passed away recently and I was going through a lot of stuff. So then I told myself I'm gone take over the game so I went in and just started knocking out songs. So I got back on my grind and was in the studio like four days straight, I didn't even go home. It's real music that people gone love. I gotta go hard with it. I see a lot of people killing that Internet game and that's where it's at. Killing that internet with some good material so I made up my mind I'm gone go in and show them Jay Rock's hustle. It's a lot of original material too so I'm just letting the streets tell me what they think about it. I got plenty of material so I just want that support so I'm getting everybody ready for the album. I might mess around and do another one. Just gearing up for the next single to continue to give that streets that good music with the mixtapes until that day come from the official album to drop.” Jay Rock is also bombarding the mixtape circuit with everyone from DJ Drama to DJ Kay Slay.

The Guardian Reports The father of a women's world champion athlete today angrily denied accusations that the teenager was secretly born a man, insisting: "She is my little girl." Caster Semenya, 18, is undergoing a gender test to prove she is female after beating her rivals by a huge margin to win the gold medal in the world championship 800 metres in Berlin. Family, friends and teachers at her home in South Africa recalled how Semenya played football with boys, wore trousers instead of skirts and endured teasing by her peers. But all asserted that she is definitely a woman. Jacob Semenya, her father, told the Sowetan newspaper: "She is my little girl. I raised her and I have never doubted her gender. She is a woman and I can repeat that a million times." He attacked his daughter's critics, saying: "For the first time South Africans have someone to be proud of and detractors are already shouting wolf. It is unfair. I wish they would leave my daughter alone." Semenya, who has a muscular build and deep voice, aroused suspicions recently with a dramatic improvement in performance. She went from a virtual unknown to the world's fastest woman over 800m this year when she clocked 1:56.72 at the African junior championships in Mauritius. She sliced more than a second off that with her winning time of 1:55.45 in Berlin on Wednesday.

Athletics' world governing body has asked South African officials to conduct a "gender verification test". The test, which takes weeks to complete, requires a physical medical evaluation, and includes reports from a gynaecologist, endocrinologist, psychologist, an internal medicine specialist and an expert on gender. There is bewilderment and indignation over the controversy in Fairlie, the impoverished village in Limpopo province where Semenya practised her running on dirt roads and poorly kept playing fields. She lived with her grandmother while at secondary school and grew up without electricity or running water. Her grandmother, Maphuthi Sekgala, said: "I know she's a woman – I raised her myself. She called me after [the heats] and told me that they think she's a man. What can I do when they call her a man, when she's really not a man? It is God who made her look that way." The 80-year-old added that Semenya had been teased when growing up because of her boyish looks. "If the teasing hurt her, she kept the hurt to herself and didn't show what she was feeling," she told South Africa's Times newspaper. The athlete's mother said doubts about her daughter's gender were motivated by jealousy. Dorcus Semenya told the Star: "If you go to my home village and ask any of my neighbours, they would tell you that Mokgadi [Caster] is a girl. They know because they helped raise her. People can say whatever they like but the truth will remain, which is that my child is a girl. I am not concerned about such things." A picture emerged of Semenya as a tomboy who transgressed the rigid gender roles of South Africa's traditional rural communities. Her mother said Caster's first love was football. "Often I would ask her why she kept playing soccer, and with boys. All she said was, 'It's because I like it.' With her, everything was about soccer, soccer." Semenya was the only girl in the football team in Fairlie. Her former teachers spoke with pride about her prowess but admitted they had not always been certain of her gender. Eric Modiba, head of the Nthema secondary school, where Semenya was a pupil from 2004 until last year, said: "She was a happy child – I never saw her angry. She had a lot of friends, both boys and girls. She excelled at sport, especially athletics and football, which she played very well. "I have never seen her in a skirt or dress, always trousers. Initially we doubted her gender but eventually we realised she's a girl. We've seen her birth certificate and her file from primary school. At about the age of 16 she started to associate with other girls and try different hairstyles. But she never developed breasts." Morris Gilbert, a spokesman for Pretoria University's sports department, where Semenya is now a sports science student, said the issue of her gender had not been raised. "We are all very proud of her and of what she's achieved," he said. "The university stands behind her all the way." The runner's coach, Michael Seme, laughed off the allegations, saying that Semenya fielded constant questions about whether she was a boy from younger athletes when training. "Then she has to explain that she can't help the fact that her voice is so gruff and that she really is a girl. The remarkable thing is that Caster remains completely calm and never loses her dignity when she is questioned about her gender." Semenya had been "crudely humiliated" a few times and the closest Seme said he had seen her to anger was earlier this year when some people wanted her barred from using a women's toilet. "Then Caster said, 'Do you want me to pull down my pants that you can see?' Those same people came to her later and said they were extremely sorry." Semenya also received the backing of the governing African National Congress, which called on South Africans to rally around "our golden girl". The ANC said: "We condemn the motives of those who have made it their business to question her gender due to her physique and running style. Such comments can only serve to portray women as being weak." The ANC's youth league condemned the "racist agenda" of "imperialist countries", while the Young Communist League argued: "This smacks of racism of the highest order. It represents a mentality of conforming feminine outlook within the white race." Semenya herself is said to be bemused by the speculation. Phiwe Mlangeni-Tsholetsane, the South African team manager in Berlin, said: "She said to me she doesn't see what the big deal is all about. She believes it is a God-given talent and she will exercise it."

New York Daily News Reports Another gubernatorial sex scandal may be looming. Even as South Carolina's Mark Sanford waits to see whether his wife, Jenny, forgives his romp in the pampas, a New York call girl could plunge one of America's most prominent governors into a fresh hell. In March, we told you about a high-end escort who claimed that former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer had gotten overly aggressive during some kinky role-play (a charge Spitzer's lawyer called "outrageous and defamatory"). Now the elegant blond courtesan, whom we'll continue to call "Annie," is talking about three "dates" she allegedly had with another state's chief executive, who we'll call Gov. X. Though Annie's former boss, ex-madam Kristin Davis, corroborates that Gov. X was a client, his spokesman flatly denies that the married politician has ever hired hookers. Still, it's hard not to be intrigued by Annie's detailed story. She contends that, in the spring of 2006, Davis' agency booked her for an out-of-state date with a man identified as "Michael." "He picked me up in an Italian sports car," says Annie. "He was in his 30s, handsome enough to be an actor, an impeccable dresser. I wouldn't think he'd have a problem getting girls. "We went to a restaurant where the governor was dining at another table with two or three other men. Michael said the governor was a client of his. He introduced me to him. I thought it was odd that he'd introduce someone he'd hired, but the governor was very gracious. It was a brief meeting. Later, Michael and I went to an apartment our agency kept. We had sex. "A couple of days later, Michael booked another appointment. He was supposed to come to the same apartment. I buzzed him in. When I opened the door, it wasn't Michael. It was the governor. He was smiling. I knew what was happening. I was okay with it. "He was a very standard client. He didn't take the full hour. There was no exchange of money. Michael handled the payment. "I had two more dates with the governor. Never in public. Always for just an hour, around dinner time. He'd arrive at the apartment in a suit. I never had a problem with him, like I did with Spitzer. He was always nice. There wasn't a lot of conversation. It wasn't a girlfriend experience, but he was relaxed. He was very appreciative, like I was giving him a sort of affection he wasn't getting elsewhere. Later I found out he was married. His wife is quite prominent in her own right." (Annie and Davis say Gov. X is free to say he didn't pay for sex, since "Michael" took care of the bills.) P.S. Among Davis' other alleged clients: Bernie Madoff. An assistant to the jailed Ponzi scammer has already told of his fondess for noontime massages. ABC News has now found the number for Davis' closed New York Body Miracle, once located near Madoff's offices, in his leather-bound phone book. Davis, who writes in August's Penthouse about servicing the financial industry, also just found Madoff's unlisted number in her records. "He'd pay about $220 for a body rub," she'd tell us. "He wasn't an escort client." In other words, unlike his victims, Madoff didn't lay out a lot of money to get screwed.
