HipHopWired Reports The Black Eyed Peas are riding high after breaking the Billboard record for longest act on the top 100 with their successful singles, “I Gotta Feeling” and “Boom Boom Pow.” Unfortunately for the chart topping group, someone's stepped up to shoot them down. A former employee on the Peas' concert tour is suing the band for an undisclosed amount of damages. Winter Sumpter claims that she was severely injured during band's 2007 “Black Blue & You” Tour. During the band's Burbank, California performance, Sumpter says she fell through a flight of stairs when “one of the treads became detached.” In her court claim she says she suffered “severe and permanent injuries” and was left with “mental, physical, nervous pain and suffering.” Of course she's pointing the finger at the Peas for her clumsiness but she's not stopping there. She is also asking for a handout from their tour manager, and other concert officials. You know what they say; more money, more problems. Despite the shady lawsuit, the Peas can crown themselves victorious overseas after a ban on one of their concerts was lifted. The band made headlines after Malaysian officials banned Muslim citizens from attending their upcoming concert in the country. Now however, that ban has been lifted and all citizens of Malaysia are free to attend at their will. The ban was put in place because the concert is sponsored by the Irish beer company, Guinness. Muslims are denounced from using alcohol as part of their Islamic law. Muslim officials have yet to provide a reason why the ban was lifted but they are imposing strict rules. Guinness will not be allowed to sell their product at the concert or use its logo for publicity. The concert is part of the beer company's 250th anniversary.

HipHopWired Reports From the beginning of the summer to the end, peace is nowhere in sight for one of the reigning monarchs of the Atlanta's music scene. Sharing the same mantle of power as T.I. and Ludacris is Young Jeezy, whom has found himself the target of several emotionally laced diss tracks as of late. The most recent comes from a former colleague and compatriot, Jody Breeze, whom has decided to take aim at the Snowman for reasons that are still clear only to himself. Employing the hard laced track found on “Uptown,” the underrated and often ignored rapper from the Georgia boondocks takes a myriad of personal, seemingly pain-induced emotional jabs at a man that once shared stages and rocked crowds with him. Breeze even called Mr.17.5's street affiliations and history into question, a minor jab before insulting his family. Four years ago, both men were members in P. Diddy's southern rap group, Boyz N' Da Hood, along with Duke and Big Gee. Issues arose between the two when Jeezy, who set the streets on fire with his legendary Trap or Die mixtape, parlayed his success into a tool for stronger negotiations in the boardroom which resulted in him being signed to a one album deal with Bad Boy Records and a very lucrative deal with Def Jam. Perhaps due to ignorance, the remaining members of the group were never able to imitate the breakout success Jeezy found, and faded into the annals of southern Hip-Hop history. Jody Breeze's biggest hit to date has been 2005's “Stay Fresh,” a duet with Jazze Pha. With a chart topping hit like that, it's no wonder Breeze feels that he made Jeezy's career, as he once humbly proclaimed. Gorilla Zoe was in Boyz N Da Hood too and you don't see Big Gee or Duke making dissin' him. I think I smell another “Stay Strapped” in the air, maybe followed up with a touch of “24,23.” You could say the Griffin, GA MC committed career suicide, but you have to have a career first in order to kill it. Check out the track below.

Darcel De Vlugt DailyMail UK Reports Her skin is so pale that she wears Factor 100 sun cream on even a dull summer day. Yet, incredibly, 23-year-old Darcel de Vlugt was born black. In a case of extreme rarity, the skin condition vitiligo has taken the pigment from her entire body. Experts say they have never come across such a striking change and she says: 'I have a hard job convincing people that I was actually born with dark skin.' Darcel's parents Peter and Charmaine, both from Trinidad, noticed white spots on her forearm and forehead when she was five. Doctors diagnosed vitiligo, the same condition said to have affected Michael Jackson. By the age of seven, white patches had appeared on her legs along with white spots on the rest of her body.

Darcel Age Seven These gradually grew bigger until, when she was 17, the transformation was complete. 'My father worked for the United Nations and we travelled the world a lot with his job,' said Darcel, now a fashion designer in London. 'My family believe the stress of moving at such a young age brought on the condition. None of my direct family have ever suffered with the condition, although several relatives by marriage have had it in a less serious form than me. ‘When I was first diagnosed at the age of five, we didn’t take it too seriously. The doctor gave me medication to try and stop it spreading, and we thought that it wouldn’t get any worse.' But by the age of seven, white patches had started to appear on Miss De Vlugt’s legs, and then by the time she was nine, it had spread up her arms too. A year later it had started to spread up her neck and up to her nose. She said: ‘We tried all the treatment we could to try and stop it spreading, but nothing seemed to work. The doctors told me to sunbathe for ten minutes each day which I did for a year, then I took medication for five years. 'At the age of 12 I tried UV laser treatment, but it didn't work and by then, 80 per cent of my body was white so I decided to leave it. There was nothing I could do.’ Vitiligo causes the immune system to attack the pigment cells which give skin its colour. It affects one person in 100 of any age, race or colour although it is normally more noticeable in those with naturally dark skin. Darcel has a brother Dion, 29, who is unaffected. Their father still works for the UN and is now based in Africa. Because it has no melanin, Darcel's skin is vulnerable to sunburn, and she has to constantly wear suncream with a sun protection factor of 100. She said: ‘I was very badly burnt at the age of nine, to the extent where my skin looked like it had been burnt in a fire. ‘I was covered in fluid filled blisters and it took weeks to heal. It was so painful.’

Darcel's Parents, Peter And Charmaine Miss De Vlugt was given the option of bleaching the remainder of her skin as her body started to change colour, but she decided against it. She said: ‘I believe that Michael Jackson had vitiligo and had patches of it on his body, then he bleached the rest so it had an even look. ‘But I didn’t want to bleach it as it would mean it was irreversible, and I had hoped that all the treatments I had been having would work instead. ‘But now my body is completely white all over, with not a patch of brown left, so I wouldn’t have needed to bleach any remaining skinanyway.’ Last month in the Mail, Luke Davis described how he had changed from black to white apart from a circular patch on his back. But a spokesman for the Vitiligo Society said it was 'extremely unusual' for the entire body to change colour.

MTVNEWS Reports The teens have once again spoken, and their favorites seem to be "Twilight," Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus and "Gossip Girl." There were 83 Million votes cast for the 2009 Teen Choice Awards, and as the results were unveiled Sunday night (August 9), it was a meeting of many big, beautiful, bizarrely matched superstars at the Gibson Amphitheatre. The evening was hosted by the Jonas Brothers, who began the festivities by "interrupting" a Barack Obama press conference, then took dares from fans (who gave them such challenges as speed-hugging a line of fans — Kim Kardashian cut in near the end) and also rocked out with a full brass backing band. Highlights of the evening included "Twilight" winning 11 awards and Britney receiving the Ultimate Choice Award. "This is an honor, you've got to love the teens. We're here because of them," beamed Chace Crawford, moments before heading inside to take home the Choice TV Actor: Drama award for "Gossip Girl." "I don't know what I would say to Britney Spears. Hopefully, I'll bump into her." "Wow, I would need to think about what I would say to her," laughed Taylor Lautner, finally revealing what he'd ask the superstar if stuck on an elevator with Britney: "So, what are you doing tonight?" Moments before the taping began, Britney and her entourage had the backstage swag shop emptied so she could pick up some goodies. Britney parked her kids in front of the "Band Hero" video game, where they banged away on the instruments while she snagged free sneakers, hats and other items. Once inside, the awards were presented fast and furious. Lautner, Ashley Greene, Kellan Lutz, Justin Chon, Robert Pattinson, Nikki Reed, Jackson Rathbone and Catherine Hardwicke took the stage and braved the shrieks to take home surfboard trophies for Best Drama, Romance, Actor (Pattinson), Actress (Stewart), Villain (Cam Gigandet), Fresh Face Female (Greene), Fresh Face Male (Lautner), Liplock (Stewart and Pattinson) and Rumble (Pattinson and Gigandet). Another highlight came when RPattz and Megan Fox came onstage together to accept their matching Hottie awards. "I'm doing something special with her tonight," Miley Cyrus told us before the show of the night's biggest moment, when she presented Britney with her Ultimate Choice Award. "She's a good friend of the family, so I'm just happy to finally show everyone that she's back, and she never went anywhere. She's had a successful career, I'm proud of her — and both of us being Southern girls, I love that." Hugh Jackman was presented with the award for Choice Movie: Action Adventure in a way we can safely assume no one ever has before: by getting his face tattooed on a Jonas Brother. "They had a little challenge to Kevin, one of the Jonas brothers, to tattoo the winner of the award on his arm. So, they announced it by showing the tattoo," Jackman grinned backstage, promising that the award for "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" only made him more resolved to return the character to the screen soon. "I thought that was pretty good work for one commercial break — that was probably the quickest tattoo in the history of the world! But it was a good way to get it. And particularly good for me for my street cred, because my kids like the Jonas Brothers — and just be being near them, that's all that matters." Other big winners included Zac Efron (Actor Comedy, "17 Again" and Actor Music/Dance, "HSM3"), "The Hills" (Choice TV: Reality, and Female Reality, Lauren Conrad) and Beyoncé (Choice Music R&B Artist and R& BTrack for "Single Ladies"). Sean Kingston stole the show with a memorable performance, as did Black Eyed Peas — who surfed above the crowd. "We just wanted to try something different," Taboo told us after the show. "Flying in the air over the crowd? I was scared. But it was exciting; we got the opportunity to do something different. It was great." "We had a fantastic night. We pulled in 11 — that was amazing," marveled Jackson Rathbone after the show, reflecting back on all the "Twilight" triumphs. "I got to sit next to my Ashley Greene, and she won 'Fresh Face,' along with Taylor. It was amazing to have everything go the way it did." "The universe didn't explode — like some people may have thought — if the two of them came in contact," laughed Miley's "Hannah Montana" co-star Jason Earles, remembering the moment when she and Britney were onstage together. "It was cool, it was almost like a passing of the torch." "I wish Britney Spears would've performed. I didn't get to meet her, but I was so excited she was there. She looks great — I'm so happy for her," said an excited Ashley Greene afterward. "She's had a rough couple of years, but she looked phenomenal. And Sean Kingston? His performance was cool, the dancers ... I just ran into him [backstage]. Now I'm going to go download his stuff." The Teen Choice Awards air Monday, August 10 at 10:00 p.m. ET on Fox.

Jay-Z may be the king of rap, but when it comes to hip-hop rivalries, Game claims he's the king of battles. Taking a break from his promotional tour in Amsterdam, the Game spoke with "The Boodah Brothers Show" on Norfolk, Virginia's 103 Jamz, responding to Jay's recent radio interview with the U.K.'s Tim Westwood. "I ain't lost a rap beef to date, and when I say rap beef, I mean rap beef," Game said. "I ain't talking about no guns or shoot-outs or fighting. I'm just saying, this is hip-hop. It's a competition. We men. It's like football or basketball. It's competitive." After countless verses name-dropping Mr. Carter, Game engaged Jay-Z in a full-on battle. The war of words was ignited when Jay mentioned Game's name, along with Jim Jones and Dame Dash, in a freestyle during the launch of his Blueprint 3 tour. Game immediately responded, going as far as dissing Beyoncé, questioning Jay's ability to father children and attacking the rapper's age. Speaking out for the first time, Jay said his verse wasn't a dis but couldn't care less how it's perceived. "If that's a dis, then wear that," Jay told Westwood. "Tell groupie to get over it." The Game, however, had a different perspective on Jay's bars: "What better way to talk about somebody than to not talk about 'em? Why you gotta say you're not talking about 'em? If you're not talking about them, then you just don't talk about 'em. He's slick, man. You gotta watch that cat, man. I'm probably the only rapper in this world besides Nas that's really not scared to go at this dude's neck. He knows if he goes to war with me, then it's going to be never-ending, man." As was the case in his previous disses, the Game continued throwing darts at Jay-Z and his age, suggesting he move aside and let the new guys eat. "Jay's problem is that some people just don't want to get old," Game said. "He got a problem like my dad got that problem. My dad, he just still trying to be young, like, rockin' fitted caps, and I'm like, 'Pops, you 60. You gotta chill.' Jay got that problem. He don't want to get old. It's cool to get old. But a lot of people have that problem, especially when they don't have children. But he don't got no children. I don't know what's up with that. Maybe he ain't fertile." Recently, Jay touched on the harsh criticism he's received over the years regarding his age and being at the forefront of hip-hop music. "I hear it all the time — 'Yo, he should let the young guys, the new generation of guys, come in,' " Jay told Reuters. "But you don't become the front-runner in music because someone lets you. You have to claim your shoes. ... If you grow up listening to hip-hop, you love hip-hop, and that's the end of it. But if you're a 30-year-old rapper still trying to make music like you're 15, then you're making it narrow. At my age, I can't relate to a 15-year-old. I deal with mature and relevant topics for my age group — it has to all be based on true emotions. The more diversity and the more mature we make hip-hop, the bigger the net you cast. ... Kanye is really the father to the next generation — he's from the school of Q-Tip, and now Drake and Kid Cudi are from the school of 'Ye. And, when you look at Kanye, you have to look at Lil Wayne. I think they're like Kobe Bryant and LeBron James." As for the Game, he says you can expect another dis record — but only if Jay responds on wax, which is unlikely. "If and when he does [respond], just be looking out for 400 bars," Game said. "It's not gonna be a joke. I'mma really put my pen down on a paper and really strike a match." Source : MTVNEWS

Will.I.Am responds with This Video

The rapper said that it started at an event after the MuchMusic Awards in Canada where Fergie of "The Peas" came up to the blogger and asked why he didn't like their music. Hilton explained it was just the record, but according to Wil.I.Am was "up in her face" and rude to her. Later, Wil.I.Am encountered Hilton at another club and requested that he not treat the group in such a rude way as he did on his website. But rather than apologize, Hilton said "I don't respect you" to Wil.I.Am, who said "OK. That's cool." But then Hilton, who's Gay, called Wil.I.Am a faggot but even then the lead lyricist for the Black Eyed Peas held his cool and backed off; but an unknown fan didn't and accordind to Wil.I.Am "got all up into him". So it was the fan that assaulted Hilton, not Wil.I.Am; if Wil.I.Am's story is accurate, Hilton lied about the incident. Hilton didn't stop tweeting. His last posts as of this writing said.. I won't be talking about this any further. It is in the hands of the authorities.22 minutes ago from web Thank u all from the bottom of my heart for ur concern. The police are investigating the assault now. I did the right thing by reporting it.22 minutes ago from web For his part Wil.I.Am said "It's all cool; it just got a little crazy." Source : SFGATE

The city cop who fatally shot an off-duty officer in East Harlem was identified Friday as a 30-year-old Long Islander who has been on the job 4 1/2 years, sources said. Officer Andrew Dunton is based at the 25th Precinct in Manhattan and - at the request of the district attorney's office - has not been questioned about the killing of rookie cop Omar Edwards. Mayor Bloomberg said detectives were reviewing security tapes and questioning the suspected thief Edwards was chasing - with gun drawn - when he was shot and killed. "The only thing that can come out of this is to improve procedures so perhaps it doesn't happen again," Bloomberg said. "We all know policing is a dangerous job and accidents happen when people have guns in their hands, even legal guns in this case which they are authorized and trained to use." The Rev. Al Sharpton called for a federal investigation "to sort out the facts" of the fatal shooting of Edwards, who was 25 and black. Dunton is white. "Can police investigate themselves fairly and impartially?" he asked. "It would seem very difficult at best and unlikely in fact." Both Edwards and Dunton were wearing civvies, but police rules put the burden on an off-duty officer to identify himself in any confrontation with other cops. "The challenging officer, however, also has a responsibility to use sound tactics and judgement in approaching the situation," the NYPD Patrol Guide says. It's unclear if Edwards ID'd himself as a cop when he turned - with the gun still in his hand - to face Dunton and the two other officers with him. Sources said Dunton had his shield out - on a lanyard around his neck - and was wearing the color of the day when he yelled drop it. "This is always a black cop's fear, that he'd be mistaken for a [suspect]," a source said. The tragedy began just before 10:30 p.m. Thursday when Edwards, who worked out of a Manhattan housing unit, noticed the driver's side window of his car was smashed and spotted Miguel Goitia rooting around inside, police said. Edwards raced to his car, which was parked on Second Ave. between E. 124th and E. 125th St., and grabbed Goitia. But the suspect managed to slip out of his sweater and escape - with the cop hot on his heels. At the same time, Dunton and two other officers in an unmarked car saw Edwards running down the street. They made a U-turn and got out. "Police! Stop! Drop it!" two of them yelled, sources said. Then Dunton fired six shots - hitting Edwards twice, once in the left arm and once in the chest, police said. Edwards did not fire his weapon. The cops didn't realize Edwards was one of them until rescue crews cut open his shirt to stop the bleeding and saw a police academy shirt. They then searched his pockets and found his shield, sources said. Investigators said the anti-crime cops later nabbed the car-theft suspect Goitia, whose rap sheet includes five arrests for assault, robbery, and drugs. Edwards' mother, Natalia Harding, said her son's dream was to be a cop "ever since he was a little kid." She said he had just married his girlfriend, Danielle Glen, and they have two kids - 1 1/2-year-old Xavier and 7-month-old Keanua. "I'm hurt that they took my son," the heartbroken mom said between sobs Friday morning at her Brooklyn apartment. "That's my baby they took from me. And all I got was his last hug and kiss when he went to work [tonight] and he said, 'Ma, I'll see you when I come home.'" Edwards' father couldn't fathom how such a fatal mistake could happen. "If a police officer sees someone with a gun, you don't just fire without asking questions or trying to apprehend the person," said Ricardo Edwards, 72. "If the person was firing at a police officer, I understand." Source : New York Daily News

A List Of The Best Rappers Over 30

A few Tuesday’s ago (May, 19th to be exact) we saw album releases from Busta Rhymes, Method Man & Redman, & of course, Eminem. This was so far the biggest release date of 2009. All three acts that I mentioned are veterans in the game and well respected by their peers. Another thing they have in common: They’re all over the age of 30. If you think about it, most of Hip-Hop’s elite are over the age of 30. I guess it’s no longer a young man’s game. So I was thinking, since you see a lot of lists with titles such as “25 Hottest Celebs Under 25” or “40 Richest Under 40”, why not The Best 30 Rappers Over 30? But for this list, we got set some ground rules. #1 of course is the most obvious; you gotta be over the age of 30 (That throws out people like Weezy, Lupe, Drake, & T.I.). #2, you have to be 30 as of this list (Both The Game & Joe Budden will be 30 this year, but aren’t as of yet). #3, you got to be active and releasing records with new material that relevant (Rakim & Big Daddy Kane are legends but they don’t make this list). Other than that, the only requirement is being 3-0 or older. So, here’s it: The Best 30 Rappers Over 30 (Ordered from oldest to youngest). 30 is the new 20! Did I forget anybody? Ice Cube (June 15, 1969) - 39 Jay-Z (December 4, 1969) - 39 Raekwon (January 12, 1970) – 39 Q-Tip (April 10, 1970) - 39 Redman (April 17, 1970) - 39 Ghostface Killah (May 9, 1970) - 39 Fat Joe (August 19, 1970) - 38 Scarface (November 9, 1970) - 38 DMX (December 18, 1970) - 38 Method Man (April 1, 1971) - 38 Snoop Dogg (October 20, 1971) – 37 Common (March 13, 1972) - 37 Busta Rhymes (May 20, 1972) - 37 Black Thought (October 3, 1972) - 36 Eminem (October 17, 1972) - 36 Bun B (March 19, 1973) - 36 Nas (September 14, 1973) - 35 Mos Def (December 11, 1973) - 35 Andre 3000 (May 27, 1974) - 35 Styles P (November 28, 1974) - 34 Big Boi (February 1, 1975) - 34 Jadakiss (May 27, 1975) - 34 50 Cent (July 6, 1975) - 33 Talib Kweli (October 3, 1975) - 33 Rick Ross (January 28, 1976) - 33 Cam’ron (February 4, 1976) - 33 Kanye West (June 8, 1977) - 31 Ludacris (September 11, 1977) - 31 Young Jeezy (October 12, 1977)- 31 Fabolous (November 18, 1977) - 31 Source:NappyAfro.com
