Nas Responds to Kelis’s Divorce Demands

XXL Reports The divorce case between Nas and Kelis continues to get super ugly. Nas claims Kelis over-reported his income by more than two times his actual earnings in their bitter breakup. According to tmz.com, the Queens rapper claimed in legal documents his album deal earned him $4 million, not the $11 million that Kelis suggests. “I did not receive even half that amount,” Nas’s papers read. Kelis says Nas hasn’t provided any child or spousal support since they couple split in April. Meanwhile, Nas claims he’s agreed to drop $350 for a stroller, $450 for a baby sling and $1,598 for two baby cribs. Kelis, who is pregnant with Nas’s child, unsuccessfully attempted to move the hearing date forward last month, as not to conflict with her impending delivery. The judge was on vacation, so the date remains set for July 21.

The Examiner Reports Tatiata Kozhevnikova has been training her private parts for some 15 years. The confident Kozhevnikova has even lifted about 14 kilograms worth of weights (just under 31 pounds) to prove it. The video validates her claim. Kozhevnikova has been exercising her intimate muscles on a daily basis, and she has been recognized by Guinness Book of Records where she holds the record as the woman with the world’s strongest vagina. Here's what she says is her secret for training, “After I had a child, my intimate muscles got unbelievably weak. I read books on Dao and learned that ancient women used to deal with this problem using wooden balls. I looked around, saw a Murano glass ball and inserted it in my vagina.” "You insert one of the balls in your vagina, and it has a string attached to it with a little hook at the very end. You fix a second ball onto this hook. Kozhevnikova also provides sex-enhancing tips for women "It’s enough to exercise your vagina five minutes a day, ladies, and in just one week you’ll be able to give yourself and your man unforgettable pleasure in bed.” Perhaps it's time to add a new Olympic sport. No doubt the male viewing audience would increase. May we all find and share our true gifts, and may we truly enjoy the talents of others.

A local teacher accidentally put pornography into a DVD that was meant to be filled with school memories from the past year, and nobody caught the error until after it was sent home, shocking parents and students alike. Parents of students who attend Isabelle Jackson Elementary said that the woman is a good teacher, but just made a mistake that may become the most embarrassing moment of their life. The offending DVD starts with a menu screen that displays various school trips and functions, and when you click on one of them, you see kids in a classroom sharing stories. They start clapping, then the video suddenly cuts to sex. "It goes from my son, straight to her on the couch," said 'Joe,' who saw the video along with his son and did not wish to be identified. "My son's reaction was, 'Dad, is that Ms. Defanti?'" "We were up till midnight doing the 'birds and the bees,'" he added. The person in the video turned out to be Isabelle Jackson Elementary fifth grade teacher Crystal Defanti. "All she could say was that it was a horrible mix up," Joe said. The teacher called his home the day after his child got the DVD, crying hysterically, profusely apologizing and asking the man and his wife to call every parent they knew to stop their kids from seeing the DVD too. The Elk Grove Unified School District says they are investigating, but legal experts say it's unlikely that the teacher will lose her job. "It's felony stupid, but it's not a crime," said defense expert Ken Rosenfeld. "Is it something that she should be disciplined for? Absolutely, but fired for? She didn't intend for this to happen." Joe doesn't care if the teacher keeps her job, he'd just like some help from the school. "Maybe offer some sort of counseling for my children, ask me how my children are doing," he said. "I want somebody to ask me the kind of questions my kids are asking me." School officials say a new DVD will be sent to students once it has been reviewed. Source : CBSNEWS

AllHipHop Reports Last night (July 16), President Barack Obama made an impassioned speech to the NAACP on the topics of education and personal responsibility. The speech marked another milestone in the young presidency of Barack Obama, whose address commemorated the NAACP’s 100th anniversary convention. President Obama acknowledged that those born in the inner-city face stronger adversity in the realms of economics and violent crimes. Still, he argued these elements were no excuses for students or parents to neglect their responsibilities. “Yes, if you’re African American, the odds of growing up amid crime and gangs are higher. Yes, if you live in a poor neighborhood, you will face challenges that someone in a wealthy suburb does not,’ President Obama stated. “But that’s not a reason to get bad grades, that’s not a reason to cut class, that’s not a reason to give up on your education and drop out of school. No one has written your destiny for you. Your destiny is in your hands – and don’t you forget that. To parents, we can’t tell our kids to do well in school and fail to support them when they get home. For our kids to excel, we must accept our own responsibilities. That means putting away the Xbox and putting our kids to bed at a reasonable hour. It means attending those parent-teacher conferences, reading to our kids, and helping them with their homework.” With the undeniable huge influence of Hip-Hop and sports on African-American youth culture, Obama noted that education should be utilized by parents to show children their potential extends beyond entertainment. “They might think they’ve got a pretty good jump shot or a pretty good flow, but our kids can’t all aspire to be the next LeBron or Lil Wayne. I want them aspiring to be scientists and engineers, doctors and teachers, not just ballers and rappers,” The President detailed. “I want them aspiring to be a Supreme Court Justice. I want them aspiring to be President of the United States. So, yes, government must be a force for opportunity. Yes, government must be a force for equality. But ultimately, if we are to be true to our past, then we also have to seize our own destiny, each and every day.” The NAACP was founded in 1909 by the nation’s most influential African-Americans, including scholar W.E.B. DuBois, activist Ida B. Wells, and attorney Archibald Grimke.

AllHipHop Reports A full-fledged lyrical feud has broken out between Inspectah Deck of the Wu Tang Clan and Joe Budden, who now represents for Slaughterhouse. While Budden has yet to respond in song, Deck has released a song called “House N***a,” where he proclaims “the war is on.” The lyrical beef is a result of Joe Budden expressing that he was a greater emcee than Method Man in a tourney of the best rappers alive by now-defunct Vibe magazine. "When I first heard the Inspectah Deck s**t I thought it was weak but I said, 'Aight I'm going to tear him up for fun," Budden said on BlogTV, a site he uses for live video blogging. "I just wish somebody else would've responded, not him... Me and Raekwon talked it out, me and Busta Rhymes already spoke. Now here you come...” Budden didn’t say that he would definitely respond, but he did sent some barbed words for Deck. “While Inspectah Deck may be considered a legend for the one great verse he had in his 30 year career, it's 2009...We'll see how it all plays out. We gotta see how it goes down when I get into the studio,” Budden continued. “He should be dissing RZA for not paying him. When Saigon dissed me, my next dis track was the fact that I got paid from his dis track. I don't think people really use their heads. He rapped on 'Pump It Up.' Me and Just [Blaze] got paid for it." On the song, Deck admits to defending Method Man, who refused to entertain a battle with Budden. On his blog, Budden suggested that he may use the feud to push his Slaughterhouse album with Crooked I, Royce Da 5’ 9” and Joell Ortiz. “Honestly, dude ain't worth responding to... But I DO have an album coming out.. Might be buzzworthy to cook dude.. We'll see,” Budden wrote. Listen to “House N***a” by Inspectah Deck of Wu Tang Download House Nigga Here

XXL Reports While the war of words between Slaughterhouse and D-Block defector J-Hood has recently cooled off, Royce da 5’9″ says the dispute is far from resolved. In a recent interview with XXLMag.com, Nickel-Nine denied that there’d be any more lyrical fire from his four-man super group, but insisted that the beef could leak off of the wax. “We’re not going to respond to him because he’s a bum… just like Ransom,” Royce said, who’s digital EP The Revival dropped yesterday (July 7). “He might want to shut his fucking mouth. Detroit niggas don’t play that shit.” Hood has been taking shots at the entire Slaughterhouse crew for the past few months, name-calling and levying threats on street DVDs. “I’m all for the battle rapping, but when you get to talking about what you’re going to do… I don’t want to fucking hear that,” Royce continued. “I move around New York how I feel. That nigga can’t step a fucking pinky toe in Detroit.” “He can say what he wanna say,” he added, “but if he brings that shit anywhere near my circumference, I’ma take his fucking head off.” The dispute began late last year, when J-Hood took exception to a Royce punchline. He told hiphopbeef.com the offending quip was, “I’m the one, really though/you just a J-Hood gun video.” The Yonkers MC clapped back with “Watch What You Say,” also dissing Jim Jones, 50 Cent and Jadakiss. In April, Royce responded with his rendition of Red Café’s “Hottest In The Hood” followed by partner-in-rhyme Crooked I’s “Slaughterhouse is a Big Deal.” Next for Royce is the debut disc from his group , Slaughterhouse scheduled for an August 11 release. His fifth solo LP, Street Hop, is set to drop in September. –John Kennedy

Singer Chris Brown may have scared off some women by beating up his ex, Rihanna, but Kanye West's on-and-off girlfriend, Amber Rose, apparently isn't one of them. Brown and Rose locked lips at the July 4 White Party thrown by Sean (Diddy) Combs and Ashton Kutcher in Beverly Hills, spies tell the Daily News. Brown, 20, arrived at the party with singer Teyana Taylor, an 18-year-old Rihanna look-alike, but is said to have hooked up quickly with Rose. "Diddy announced the deejay would do a tribute to Michael Jackson," said a guest. "Chris did an amazing impression of Michael's moonwalk. It wasn't long before he was dancing with Amber." Later, as the party wound down, the pair nestled on a couch in the backyard of the Beverly Hills mansion. "They were holding hands and making out in the shadows," said a witness. "She had her hand on his leg." Taylor is said to have been irked by the amount of time Brown spent with Rose, but still accompanied him to an after-party at the club Guys. There, Brown again got upclose and personal with Rose, who is 26. "They were kissing on the dance floor in front of Teyana," said a witness. "But he and Amber left separately." Some wondered whether the flagrant display was a defiant message both to Rihanna and West. Rihanna dumped Brown, who last month pleaded guilty to assaulting the Grammy winner. West, who has said he was "devastated" by Brown's attack on a woman who was like "my little sister," has run hot and cold on Rose lately. Although he reportedly broke up with her last month, they came together at last week's BET Awards show. A rep for Brown had no comment. Reps for Rose and West couldn't be reached. NYDAILYNEWS Reports His HBO character might have a taste for violence but a star of the crime show "The Wire" said he had nothing to do with gunplay that erupted outside his wife's baby shower. One man was killed and two others wounded in a gunfight outside the Brooklyn bash hosted by actor Jamie Hector - who played drug dealer Marlo Stanfield on the former hit show. Hector said in a statement released Monday that his " heartfelt prayers and condolences" went out to the victims' families. "I would like to make it clear that the shooting incident [Sunday] did not take place at my home, nor did it involve me, my wife, nor any of the invited guests," the actor said. Local residents, though said two of the young men injured in Sunday's 1:20 a.m. East Flatbush shootout had attended the baby shower. Linton Williams, 17, and Walter Parker, 22, had just left the party, neighbors said, when a car drove up and opened fire on the men. Williams died at the scene. If you weigh more than 350 pounds or are a critical care patient, prepare to pay an especially hefty price for a ride in an American Medical Response ambulance. The Shawnee County Commission on Monday agreed to allow AMR to raise ambulance costs for critical and bariatric, or overweight, patients from $629 to $1,172. The higher price for critical care patients will pay for an additional care technician and medical equipment, including vents, medical pumps, I.V. and cardiac monitors during their rides, said Ken Keller, AMR Topeka director. Critical care patients, Keller said, are the more unstable patients that AMR transports from more limited or “lower care” facilities to “higher care” hospitals. The technicians who transport them must complete a 240-hour course taught by doctors and nurses. “These are severely traumatized patients — cardiac, stroke or severe trauma — that may be on ventilators, heart monitors or drip medications,” Keller said. “The hospital takes six people to take care of these patients, and we’re trying to do it with one or two.” Keller said AMR needed to increase its charge for bariatric patients to pay for more manpower and transportation equipment. The bariatric equipment includes extra large and reinforced cots, as well as a winch to help technicians load the patients into the back of the ambulance. “These people have special needs during transport,” Keller said of the bariatric patients. “Many of these people don’t fit our standard cots. Our normal cots will hold over 500 pounds, but when you max out the ability of the cot, you put the patients at risk. Having these resources means a little less manpower and a much safer way to lift the patients.” Keller said as a general rule, AMR will begin charging patients the increased bariatric fee if they weigh more than 350 pounds. He said the technicians, however, would use their discretion and consider the overall size of the patient in determining if they are bariatric. “We look at the length and width,” Keller said. “A patient could be 325 or 275. We will look at the qualifiers of the patient and the special needs, and then we submit them to the insurance and see if we agree.” Keller said 60 percent of the bariatric patients AMR transports in Topeka wouldn’t need to pay the higher rate because they receive either Medicare or Medicaid coverage. Only the price for patients with private insurance will increase, he said. He also said the new rate that AMR will charge bariatric patients with private insurance is comparable to other emergency medical services with bariatric equipment. Kansas was ranked the 23rd-most obese state in the U.S., according to a 2008 report from the Trust for America’s Health and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Cindy Samuelson, Kansas Hospital Association vice president, said the level of obesity in Kansas has almost reached a third of the population. “Sixty-four percent of adult Kansans are overweight or obese,” Samuelson said. “It’s more than half of our population in Kansas.” Keller said the Topeka and Shawnee County area is no exception, even if people don’t always notice. “I don’t think a lot of people are aware about the number of bariatric patients we see,” Keller said. “We have a number of people in this town between 500 and 600 pounds that the general public never sees.” Source: CJONLINE

Two of the most popular and promising dietary supplements — vitamin D and fish oil — will be tested in a large, government-sponsored study to see whether either nutrient can lower a healthy person's risk of getting cancer, heart disease or having a stroke. It will be one of the first big nutrition studies ever to target a specific racial group — blacks, who will comprise one quarter of the participants. People with dark skin are unable to make much vitamin D from sunlight, and researchers think this deficiency may help explain why blacks have higher rates of cancer, stroke and heart disease. "If something as simple as taking a vitamin D pill could help lower these risks and eliminate these health disparities, that would be extraordinarily exciting," said Dr. JoAnn Manson. She and Dr. Julie Buring, of Harvard-affiliated Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, will co-lead the study. "But we should be cautious before jumping on the bandwagon to take mega-doses of these supplements," Manson warned. "We know from history that many of these nutrients that looked promising in observational studies didn't pan out." Vitamins C, E, folic acid, beta carotene, selenium and even menopause hormone pills once seemed to lower the risk of cancer or heart disease — until they were tested in big studies that sometimes revealed risks instead of benefits. In October, the government stopped a big study of vitamin E and selenium pills for prostate cancer prevention after seeing no evidence of benefit and hints of harm. Vitamin D is one of the last major nutrients to be put to a rigorous test. For years, evidence has been building that many people are deficient in "the sunshine vitamin." It is tough to get enough from dietary sources like milk and oily fish. Cancer rates are higher in many northern regions where sunlight is weak in the winter, and some studies have found that people with lower blood levels of vitamin D are more likely to develop cancer. Fish oil, or omega-3 fatty acid, is widely recommended for heart health. However, studies of it so far have mostly involved people who already have heart problems or who eat a lot of fish, such as in Japan. Foods also increasingly are fortified with omega-3, so it is important to establish its safety and benefit. "Vitamin D and omega-3s have powerful anti-inflammatory effects that may be key factors in preventing many diseases. They may also work through other pathways that influence cancer and cardiovascular risk," Manson said. However, getting nutrients from a pill is different than getting them from foods, and correcting a deficiency is not the same as healthy people taking large doses from a supplement. The new study, which will start later this year, will enroll 20,000 people with no history of heart attacks, stroke or a major cancer — women 65 or older and men 60 or older. They will be randomly assigned to take vitamin D, fish oil, both nutrients or dummy pills for five years. The daily dose of vitamin D will be about 2,000 international units of D-3, also known as cholecalciferol, the most active form. For fish oil, the daily dose will be about one gram — five to 10 times what the average American gets. Participants' health will be monitored through questionnaires, medical records and in some cases, periodic in-person exams. "We're hoping to see a result during the trial, that we won't have to wait five years" to find out if supplements help, Manson said. Researchers also plan to study whether these nutrients help prevent memory loss, depression, diabetes, osteoporosis and other problems, Buring said. The $20 million study will be sponsored by the National Cancer Institute, with the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute and other federal agencies. Pharmavite LLC of Northridge, Calif., is providing the vitamin D pills, and Ocean Nutrition Canada Ltd. of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, is providing the omega-3 fish oil capsules. Source: BlackNews

Cop Trying To Halt Attack Kills Victim

Police say they got to 26-year-old Jill Ulmer's Fayetteville apartment Friday night as the suspect was stabbing her. Officers said they were trying to stop 41-year-old Ricky Anderson from killing his ex-girlfriend when they opened fire into the apartment. Monday, the Fayetteville Police Department said one of those gunshots fired by an officer actually hit Ulmer and is listed as her cause of death, along with multiple stab wounds. Police also confirmed that Ulmer was pregnant. Some are running out of words to describe the situation. "It's absolutely horrible. Fayetteville is a small town, and it's a friendly town, and I feel safe. I just feel bad for her family, and my prayers go out to her," said neighbor Anne Kearney. Neighbors still dealing with Friday night's killing got even more troubling news Monday when they learned a shot fired by police officers hit Ulmer while she was being stabbed. "That's awful, but I don't think they had another choice," Kearney said. Neighbors said police did everything they could to stop what was happening. New information also surfaced about the suspect. "We've had a few run-ins with him. He has been the subject of some investigations and some arrests," said Fayetteville police Sgt. Bill Phelan. Police said Anderson is a suspect in an alleged rape earlier this month. He also violated a protective order that Ulmer had against him and had previously broken into her apartment. Domestic violence experts said Ulmer's killing is an eye-opener. "It's kind of like a wakeup call to all of us in the community to keep our eyes open and be caring about anybody, particularly young pregnant women who might have had a violent person in their lives.," said Judi Selle of the Peace At Home Family Shelter. In a statement, the fayetteville Police Department said it is saddened by Ulmer's tragic death and that it was unfortunate that the officers' best efforts to save her life were unsuccessful. Anderson has been charged with second degree murder. His arraignment is scheduled for July 27. Source : 4029TV

Chris Brown, Usher, Ne-Yo, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z and Dream were all supposed to be an active part of the Michael Jackson Tribute at the 2009 BET Awards show, but ultimately, Chris Brown was denied the opportunity to participate. BET executives feared a backlash if they allowed Brown to perform, especially considering emotions are still running high about the Rihanna assault incident to which he pleaded guilty this month. Brown and his handlers were said to have literally begged BET to reconsider. Insiders said: "Michael is/was Chris' idol and this tribute means the world to him." Executives also feared that by allowing Chris to take the stage, his drama might overshadow the network's tribute to Michael Jackson. Jay-Z was also said to have played a major role in blocking Brown's participation. Hey, what do you expect when you plead guilty to assaulting your superstar girlfriend? Source: Cleveland Leader

In their latest effort to keep LeBron James in the fold, the Cavaliers have landed Shaquille O'Neal from the Suns in the revival of a deal they tried to make back in February. According to various reports, O'Neal is going to Cleveland in exchange for the same package proposed at last season's trading deadline. The Cavs are sending Ben Wallace, Sasha Pavlovic and a second-round pick in tonight's draft to the Suns. The deal was reached in principle late last night and is expected to be finalized today. By acquiring Shaq, the Cavs hope the 37-year-old O'Neal, who is entering the final season of his contract, has something left and can get James a title. But Shaq alone would not necessarily be enough to help the Cavs to even overtake the Magic in the East. While Shaq enjoyed a bit of a revival last season, the Suns missed the playoffs, and O'Neal is not the same player he was when he was winning three titles with the Lakers from 2000-02. "They didn't give up anything for him in terms of main rotation players," said one Eastern Conference president. "So that's good. But Shaq doesn't give them size in their backcourt to match up with the Magic. And as for being someone who can guard Dwight Howard, Shaq can't do that. The Magic are still better, depending on what happens in free agency." Still, it's a gamble the Cavs felt they had to take. The clock is running as James could be entering free agency in 2010. The Knicks, of course, would like nothing more than to see the Cavs again falter in their quest for a title, since it could give James a reason to leave Cleveland. James can extend his contract this summer. But he is expected to wait to see what the Cavs do to increase his chances of winning a title. Since joining Cleveland in 2003, he has made it to one Finals, in 2007, losing to the Spurs in four games. The Suns, meanwhile, are in a cost-cutting mode and decided that O'Neal's $21million salary was worth dumping. At last season's trading deadline, they decided to pull out of the deal and tried to make a run at the playoffs. Besides Cleveland, Dallas and New Orleans had limited interest in obtaining O'Neal, who has helped Kobe Bryant and Dwyane Wade win titles. The Knicks had limited interest in Shaq, only because of the money that could come off their books, but never made a serious offer. NEWYORKDAILYNEWS

The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation has asked Perez Hilton to apologize for slurs he hurled at Will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas. GLAAD was responding to a video posted by the celebrity blogger, whose legal name is Mario Lavandeira, in which Hilton gave his version of events after Will.i.am posted a video describing their recent confrontations at and after the MuchMusic Video Awards. Said Hilton in his video: "I made the split-second decision -- that I was gonna say what I thought was the worst possible thing that thug [Will.i.am] would ever want to hear" -- which was a handful of assorted F-bombs. Rashad Robinson, GLAAD's senior director of media programs, said: "These are vulgar anti-gay slurs that feed a climate of hatred and intolerance toward our community. For someone in our own community to use it to attack another person by saying that it is, quote, ‘The worst possible thing that thug would ever want to hear,’ is incredibly dangerous. It legitimizes use of a slur that is often linked to violence against our community. And it sends a message that it is OK to attempt to dehumanize people by exploiting anti-gay attitudes.” “We have reached out to Hilton and asked him to apologize for promoting this anti-gay slur, and we would ask media outlets to avoid repetition of the slur in their coverage of this story.” Source : LATIMES

A Brooklyn man is accused of donning a wig, nail polish and dresses to impersonate his dead mom and collect $115,000 in Social Security and rent subsidies. For six years, Thomas Prusik-Parkin hoodwinked a stunning array of government agencies with his elaborate charade - using a cane, heavy makeup, fake ID and a phony "nephew," law enforcement sources said. The 49-year-old was busted late Monday and will be arraigned today on grand larceny, forgery and conspiracy charges linked to a deed and mortgage fraud scheme. "I held my mother when she was dying and breathed in her last breath, so I am my mother," Prusik-Parkin said when he was arrested, according to detectives.

The mother, Irene Prusik, died in 2003 at age 73. The flimflam, which the Daily News learned of during a mortgage fraud probe, began immediately. Her son allegedly gave the funeral director the wrong Social Security number and date of birth for his mother so that her death would not be registered in government databases. He began collecting $700 a month in Social Security in her name, in addition to his own disability checks, sources said. He's accused of posing as Irene to file for bankruptcy so "she" would be eligible for $39,000 in city subsidies to help pay rent on a Park Slope apartment. To help in the ruse, Prusik-Parkin allegedly enlisted a close friend, Mhilton Rimolo, 47, to pose as Irene's nephew, help the "ailing aunt" get around town, cash government checks and assist in property transactions. On April 29, for example, Rimolo was with "Irene" when she renewed a driver's license in Coney Island. Banks, courts and federal and city agencies were taken in again and again - but the Brooklyn district attorney's rackets squad wasn't fooled. When DA investigators showed up to interview Irene Prusik in May, they encountered an elderly "woman" in a red dress and dark sunglasses who answered all their questions, sources said. Rimolo, who is also being charged, was at "her" side and told investigators Irene's son couldn't speak to them because he wasn't home. The DA was tipped by the man who actually owns the home where Prusik-Parkin lives, a $2.2million brownstone building that appears to be at the center of a massive fraud. In 1996, Irene Prusik deeded the home at 492 Sixth Ave. to her son, according to city records. He took out a $200,000 mortgage to bankroll a real estate investment business that failed. He stopped making mortgage payments, the house went into foreclosure and it was bought by Samir Chopra in 2003. To hold onto the brownstone and avoid eviction, Prusik-Parkin posed as his mother to file a suit alleging that he had forged the 1996 deed transfer, investigators allege. He even filed an affidavit from a nonexistent son. In essence, investigators say, he sued himself to prove that he didn't have the title to the home and that Chopra - who also thought Irene Prusik was still alive - couldn't have legally bought it. Prusik-Parkin deeded the house back to his mother last year. Then he took out a mortgage for almost a million dollars in her name in April, collecting some $300,000 of the loan. That same month, Chopra convinced a Brooklyn judge the home really did belong to him, and the Prusik "family" was evicted in May. Source : New York Daily News

Former Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam artist Tru Life turned himself in to authorities last night (June 23) to face a charge of 1st degree murder, according to reports. The charge is possibly tied to a brutal stabbing incident last week that left one man seriously injured, and an 18-year old teen dead. As reported by AllHipHop.com, police were initially investigating Tru Life’s brother for a retaliation attack in the non-fatal shooting of Michael Slater. The individual, whom police suspect is a drug dealer, was shot in the stomach outside of club Pacha. Several hours after the crime, police claim five gang members ambushed 30 year old Jason Black and the teen at a Manhattan apartment complex. Both men were stabbed repeatedly in the chest and face. Black survived the assault, while the unidentified teen succumbed to his wounds. At the time, police theorized that the back and forth violence was the result of a feud between Jason Black and Tru Life’s brother. 1st degree murder carries a maximum sentence of life in prison under New York law. If an official or witness is not the victim, the distinction can also be decreed for murders involving multiple parties or tortuous killings. Tru Life’s last music effort, “Wet ‘em Up,” was heard as a selection on the soundtrack to Grand Theft Auto IV. At press time, Tru Life could not be reached for comment. Source : ALLHIPHOP
