Ballerstatus Reports Sizzurp is a mixture prescription-strength cough syrup containing codeine and soda. Although, the concoction originated in the south, rappers like Dipset and Lil Wayne have popularized it across the nation. The drink, or drank as it's also referred to, has gotten so big in the south that two different beverage companies are trying to capitalize on its popularity with newly released beverages -- one called "Drank" and the other labeled "Sippin' Syrup." Both drinks labels themselves as "anti-energy" drinks that provide "extreme relaxation." However, the ingredients are not harmful. They contain Melatonin, a natural substance that helps you sleep; and Valerian Root, which is used medicinally for insomnia and other disorders. On the official website for Drank (DrankBeverage.com), it says: "The first EXTREME RELAXATION drink to hit the market. DRANK, the new drink design to calm and relax you." According to local news station KBMT12, stores in Southeast Texas have started to stock their shelves with them, and local law enforcement and parents are concerned, calling both products a gateway to using other harmful and illegal substances. "It is such an obvious gateway product to one of the most dangerous drugs in our area," Major Jim Singletary who works in the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, told the new channel. "We got enough problems with kids experimenting with the real thing," he added, "now the younger kids will be able to buy something like this until they can buy the real thing." Parents seem to agree with Singletary. Johnny Davison, who has four kids, says he is making sure his children stay away from the drink. "You hear it all the time on the rap tapes," he said. "If kids see it they're going to think it's something good." They just may have a point too. 18-year-old Jackie Robinson told the news station that he just started drink "Sippin' Syrup" just because of its name. "I ain't gonna lie it really do," Robinson said, as he sipped his drink. "It probably attracts a lot of people from the name too. "To put sippin syrup they're going to make some money," he added.

Tell 50 to get off my D*CK already he was sick that my album is SO HOT that real music not that wack sh*t him and his clowns are making!! about 17 hours ago from TweetGenius

At this point Joey Crack needs to just concentrate on making good music and not worry about 50 because "J.O.S.E. 2" is his worst album to date in my opinion.

Lloyd Banks Readies Double-Disc V5 Mixtape

Lloyd Banks is back on the mixtape scene with a full two CDs at once — V5 is coming soon. "V5 — this is my second double-disc this year," Banks said at his squad's Forever Young Day in Queens, New York. "This one I been working on. It's already done. I've been doing a few things on the side. I just did the 'Bandana' record with Maino and a few other things. I've just been working. That's been put in the cut; I'm hoping to do a couple of videos. I've always wanted to do those [with each mixtape project], but I'll get a call like 6, 7 in the morning saying I gotta go to Africa. "But V5 on the way — it's gonna drop any day. Thirty songs. This one is the one, man," he added. "I been working so hard." Banks was pleased to be featured in the recent Hottest MCs fan poll and is looking to see if he'll make the official list. "I'm gonna show you why I was even brought up on the MTV list," Banks promised. "V5 is gonna speak for itself. Thirty records — it's going down." Also, the only feature on the new mixtape is Tony Yayo. "I kept it to me. They putting the pressure on me. They wanna see what I'mma do next, so I'm gonna knock them over the head and then gear up for my new album," Banks said. "After I heard his mixtape, I went back to the drawing board," Yayo offered. "The stuff I'm hearing from these dudes, we hungry. It's like we ain't got no money, no cars, no girls. I just keep doing me. Sometimes Banks give me the energy, 50 give me the energy. Young Buck is gone, Game is gone — they don't give me no energy. But the Unit, I believe Game said, 'Yo, we broke up the Beatles.' The Beatles is still here. This is the original format right here." This afternoon while in his Manhattan offices, employees say that 50 Cent was listening to Fat Joe's new album, "J.O.S.E. 2" when all the sudden, he collapsed! An ambulance was called, and by the time they arrived, 50 Cent regained consciousness and was complaining of blurred vision and a severe migraine. 50 Cent was rushed to Mt. Sinai hospital at 4:26 pm. Doctors say after performing a Cat Scan and EKG there seems to be some damage to his auditory cortex, which is the region of the brain that is responsible for processing sound.

NY Daily News Reports WASHINGTON - The U.S. Secret Service is investigating an online survey that asked whether people thought President Barack Obama should be assassinated, officials said Monday. The poll, posted Saturday on Facebook, was taken off the popular social networking site quickly after company officials were alerted to its existence. But, like any threat against the president, Secret Service agents are taking no chances. "We are aware of it and we will take the appropriate investigative steps," said Darrin Blackford, a Secret Service spokesman. "We take of these things seriously." The poll asked respondents "Should Obama be killed?" The choices: No, Maybe, Yes, and Yes if he cuts my health care. The question was not created by Facebook, but by an independent person using an add-on application that has been suspended from the site. "The third-party application that enabled an individual user to create the offensive poll was brought to our attention this morning," said Barry Schnitt, Facebook's spokesman for policy. Because the application was disabled, the responses to the nonscientific polls are not available. "We're working with the U.S. Secret Service, but they'll need to provide any details of their investigation," Schnitt said.

Officer Ricky Ross has done some suspect things in the past that by now we are all well aware of. Recently though, I have found out the Ross fuckery goes far beyond his once hidden background as a correctional officer. Less than two years ago "The Bawse" heard a record titled "On My Trail" from an up and coming independent east coast artist by the name of L.A. which featured Akon on the hook. Ross loved the song, as a matter of fact he loved it so much he decided to jack it. At the time this was L.A.'s first official single and was starting to get play on east coast radio stations. The song was the "Pick Of The Week" two weeks in a row on Miss Jones Hot 97 radio show. L.A.'s manager, June lived in Miami at the time, so they decided to try to get the record some exposure there. It was played on Power 96.5 and things were looking good. At the same time several record labels (Universal Motown, Universal SRC and Jive) were starting to show interest. However during their meetings with those labels they kept hearing the same thing about their song "Isn't this a Rick Ross/Flo Rida joint?" They also started getting resistance from Core DJ's for the very same reason. None of this made sense to either of them until they heard Rick Ross's version of their song. He had taken the hook, switched up the beat and changed the name from "On My Trail" to "On The Run" featuring Brisco and Flo Rida. Now you have to understand that around this time Flo Rida was becoming a big name with his hit record "Low" and Rick Ross was also established in the industry. L.A. being an independent artist struggling to get his foot in the door has been fighting an uphill battle trying to get the truth out ever since. L.A.'s version was recorded in August 2007. The Ross version began to circulate somewhere around July 2008 Check out both songs below and you can still hear L.A.'s voice ad libbing on the hook of the Ross version. Also below listen to Miss Jones and DJ Envy introducing the original song on Hot 97 -- ChasinDatPaper Miss Jones & DJ Envy Introducing "On My Trail" by L.A. MTV UK Reports Nas has exclusively told MTV News UK he is scared of making a new solo album because his private life is in the limelight. Earlier this year he had a very public split from wife Kelis fuelling gossip on blogs and in newspapers. Kelis gave birth to his Nas’s son Knight in July with reports claiming he wasn’t allowed in the hospital. Speaking at the Orange Rock Corps event in London Nas revealed: “This is a record that right now I’m scared of making y’know cos, I don’t know what’s gonna happen as far as I don’t know what I’m gonna say. “I feel like I’ve put so much of my personal life out there. I feel like I’m one of the guys you don’t really hear about him on paparazzi/fan magazines all the time. “But (now) I just feel like my life is so much out there that it’s kinda like, man, I don’t even know how to put it in words how I feel about putting this record together. I’m a little nervous to tell you the truth, that’s all I can say.” Asked directly if he was nervous about his personal life being publicised the rapper said: “Yeah a little bit of that and a little bit of I wanna do so well, I don’t wanna let people down and I definitely want to put out something that is true to me. “Maybe people think I’m tripping out, but it’s not the case, I really have to be in the right head space so hopefully I’ll get it done and it’ll come out soon.” The last Nas album was his Untitled disc- originally called N****r- which was released in 2008. He also has a joint record with Damian Marley- called Distant Relatives- due out later in 2009.

I can't really say I have been a fan of Lamar Odom throughout his NBA career, but I have respected his game. It takes not only talent but a lot of intestinal fortitude to maintain a 10 year career in the best basketball league in the world. Unfortunately, Lamar's recent off the court shenanigans show he is as green as lettuce when it comes to women. After dating for only a month the L.A. Laker's star marries Khloe Kardashian of the notorious money hungry, attention starved, do whatever it takes to hold on to a rich man, Kardashian clan. I mean come on, we've all seen Khloe's sister Kim doing the humpty hump with Ray J and watched the antics of the three sisters on the ENetwork's calamity of a show 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians'. So my question to Lamar is, man what the hell were you thinking?

After signing a four year, 33 million dollar contract this is how you celebrate? I can only imagine the laughter and high fives going on in the Kardashian home as they pop champagne and throw darts at Lamar's picture with the word "sucker" emblazoned on his forehead. I'm not knocking Khloe's hustle, as a matter of fact I applaud her for taking this "clown" to school. I just feel bad for Lamar's 2 kids from a previous relationship. They're the ones that have to shoulder the burden of dealing with mean spirited friends in school and have the unenviable task of getting to know their new step-mom and her cackling sisters. Pat yourself on the back Lamar, you really have earned this "Clown Of The Week" award. -- ChasinDatPaper PaperChaserDotCom

HipHopWired Reports Legally Moses Michael Leviy, but known to the rap world as Shyne is coming closer and closer to being among the free world as his sentence is almost up and he will be able to walk again as a free man. On December 27, 1999, a shooting at a Manhattan Club left the then 21-year-old rapper in quite a bind as he was forced to do the time and landed himself behind bars facing charges of attempted murder, assault and reckless endangerment. As Diddy, then Daddy, was present some felt as though he left Shyne out on his ass when everything went down. There has been word reported that even the rapper feels that Puffy had some sort of responsibility to what had happened and seemed to harbor a grudge. Calling into Hot 97, Sean “Diddy” Combs spoke on the rapper as he awaits the day that he will no longer be behind that 8X11 cell. “It's a blessing that he's coming home. I spoke to him like a couple of weeks ago and he sounded like he was in good spirits. I know he can't wait to get home. I know he is definitely going to heat the whole scene up. He was definitely one of talented young artists that I had the pleasure to work with. I'm quite sure he's been using his time wisely and has some heat.” Shyne found his initial success along the ranks of the Bad Boy regime back in 1998 as his voice brought attention to the likes of producer Clark Kent. With a voice that resembled the late Notorious B.I.G., the rapper was brought to the house of Diddy and the magic after that is already known. On August 4, 2009, an order was signed by a Manhattan judge that would schedule Shyne for release on October 6, 2009. The rapper has served over eight years of a ten year sentence on which no terms for post-release supervision, a.k.a. parole, had originally been established. As a result and at the request of the Correction Department, the recent re-sentencing will call for a mandatory probation period of at least two and half years. Shyne and his attorney, Oscar Michelin had initially hoped to avoid this, with Shyne labeling it as being akin to "extra jail time". However Michelin did allow that the state was well within its rights. As he waits for his release, Shyne has been transferred back to the Woodbourne Correctional Facility, where he has spent the latter part of his incarceration, from Rikers Island where he was awaiting his parole hearing. In regards to his future in rap, it was already starting to be rumored in some publications that Shyne has committed to signing with rapper/producer Jay-Z's Roc Nation label upon his release. Forming from an alleged discussion the two had while Shyne was in prison, Jay shut down all possibilities saying that the meeting of the two never happened. While Shyne is plotting his post-prison career move, Diddy is making moves of his own as he announced that he is no longer signed to Warner Music Group/ Atlantic Records. Before his interview with Hot 97 about the status of his old pal, Diddy was in the headlines for confirming his official departure from the label. He confirmed to Billboard his move in a statement saying: "Now that the term of the Warner deal has ended, I have elected to accept an opportunity to move my recording career and future label venture to another company." He also added that Bad Boy and all it's subsidies would still be under the Warner/ Atlantic Record umbrella. Although he did not confirm where his new label home would be, there has been speculation that he'd join the ranks of Mr. Jimmy Iovine and sign with Interscope Records.

Iran test-fired three short-range missiles on Sunday as tension escalated over the revelation of its secret new nuclear enrichment facility. The missiles were fired two days after the United States, Britain and France disclosed that Iran was secretly constructing an underground uranium enrichment plant, and appeared to be a show of military power as the West intensified its pressure on Iran over its nuclear program.Iran is meeting with Germany, France, Britain, China, Russia and the United States in Geneva on Thursday, its first direct negotiations with the United States since President Obama took office.Gen. Hussein Salimi, head of the Revolutionary Guards Air force, warned that Iran was ready to respond to possible attacks.“We are going to respond to any military action in a crushing manner and it doesn’t make any difference which country or regime has launched the aggression,” he told Iranian state television on Sunday. While American officials have said that all options were on the table, they have played down the prospects for and usefulness of a military response. The West is demanding extensive Iranian cooperation with international inspections of its nuclear program and has threatened to apply tougher sanctions if it does not cooperate. The West has accused Iran of having a secret nuclear weapons program but Iran contends that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes.General Salimi said that the three missiles tested Sunday were Tondar-69, Fateh-110 and Zelzal types, state-run television reported. All three weapons, powered by solid fuel, have a range of between 90 and 125 miles. He also said that the Revolutionary Guards tested a “multiple missile launcher for the first time” on Sunday. The state-run Fars news agency reported that the launcher was capable of firing two missiles at the same time aimed at separate targets.Iran plans to fire two medium-range Shahab-1 and Shahab-2 missiles on Monday, the agency reported.Iran test-fired its longest-range solid-fuel missile, a Sajjil-2 with a range of 1,200 miles, in May.Iran continued to insist that its new nuclear facility, under construction near the holy city of Qum, 62 miles south of Tehran, was for peaceful purposes and that Iran had voluntarily disclosed its existence to the United Nations nuclear agency last week.“It is not clear whether we should make announcement or not,” Vice President Ali Akbar Salehi, head of Iran’s nuclear program, said in an interview with ISNA news agency on Sunday. “If we announce it, they get upset. If we don’t, they get upset.”He has denounced the West’s reaction to the disclosure as a “conspiracy” against Iran.He added that Iran had taken defensive measures against possible military threats against the facility into consideration. “We are always faced with threats,” he said. “We don’t think that those threats would necessarily take place but we have prepared ourselves for the worse.”He added that the facility was guarded with anti-aircraft weapons and was built underground to protect that staff and “sensitive equipment,” ISNA reported.Iran has said it would allow inspections of the site but has not said when.Israel considers Iran’s missile and nuclear program a direct threat and has hinted several times that it might stage a pre-emptive attack against Iran’s nuclear facilities. In 1981, Israel bombed Iraq’s Osirak nuclear facility and in 2007, it attacked a site in Syria that intelligence analysts said was a partly constructed nuclear reactor.Source:NYTIMES.

NY Daily News Reports A clip of students singing about President Obama - innocent entertainment or proof that liberal teachers are brainwashing America's youth? Apparently it's the latter, if you're a conservative pundit. The YouTube footage in question shows kindergartners and first- and second-graders at the B. Bernice Young School in Burlington Township, N.J., singing ditties that compliment Obama. The songs, performed for black history month in February, have lyrics like "Hooray, Mr. President" and "He said that all must lend a hand to make this country strong again." That was enough to draw criticism from Fox News commentators Glenn Beck and Michelle Malkin, who claim partisan politics are infiltrating the schools. It's a continuation of the accusations that cropped up earlier this month when Obama made a speech to America's schoolchildren that was viewed in classrooms. Officials at B. Bernice Young say the song is harmless. "The teacher's intention was to engage the children in an activity to recognize famous and accomplished African Americans," said school superintendent Christopher Manno. "There was no intention to indoctrinate children." Publicity about the video brought one protester to the school last week. Chris Concannon, 26, of nearby Magnolia, said the song was "just like the Hitler Youth all over again." "They should be learning history," he said, "but instead they're being taught to worship the President."
