Rappin 4 Tay and Drake have settled their differences over borrowed lyrics after Drizzy agreed to pay the Bay Area rapper $100,000, according to TMZ.
The situation came to light earlier this year when 4 Tay, real name Anthony Forté, accused the OVO boss of reusing his 1994 "Playaz Club" lyrics during his verse on YG's single "Who Do You Love," which was released in February 2014.
On "Playaz Club" 4 Tay raps:
"I got a ho named Reel-to-Reel/ She got a buddy named SP 12, now you know the deal/ We gets freaky in the studio late night/ That's why the beats that you hear are coming real tight/ Something to roll to, something to stroll to/ If you's a playa in the game this will hold you/ Mo money, mo money for the bank roll/ Stick to the script, don't slip in the '94/ A lot of fools put salt in the game/ Till these women get the notion that they running the game."
Drake's lyrics on "Who Do You Love" are nearly identical.
"I got a shorty name Texas Syn/ She got a buddy named Young/ JB and now you know the deal/ We turnt up in the studio late night/ That's why the songs that you hear are comin' real tight/ OVO crew, nigga, thought I told you/ If you a player in the game, this should hold you/ And man shout my nigga Game he just rolled through/ Eatin' crab out in Malibu at Nobu/ A lot of fools puttin' salt in the game/ Until these women get the notion that they runnin' the game"
4 Tay was offended that Drake, real name, Aubrey Drake Graham, didn't credit him for the lyrics. No lawsuit was filed, but the two reached an out of court financial agreement that puts the issue to rest.
