20-year old Brooklyn, New York rapper Bobby Shmurda appears to have arrived thanks to his "Shmoney Dance" and music video for "Hot Nigga."
Bobby borrowed the Jahlil Beats-produced instrumental from Lloyd Banks' "Jackpot" for "Hot Nigga." In just over three months the video has become a viral hit with over 1.8 million YouTube views.
"I heard that beat, and it spoke to me," Bobby told Complex. "That’s what music do to me. I been liked music, but I was always into other stuff. I got mad talent. But when I heard that beat I was like, I got to go on it. I had just came home from detention. So my friend was rapping and his music inspired me and I had bars from that little time, so he was like, “Just lay it down on a track.” I laid it down and that was “Hot Nigga.”
Raekwon brought the 20-year old out over the weekend during his set at the 2014 Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival. Meek Mill recently invited him onstage during a show at King of Diamonds.
Add to that a co-sign in June by NBA superstar Kevin Durant of his "Shmurda Dance" and things seem to falling in place.
Bobby told Complex that his early musical influences ranged from 50 Cent to Juvenile.
"I got mad energy. Sometimes, I don’t know what some people be saying on songs, so I be remixing old songs. [Laughs.] I used to make my own version of every song when I was young. I used to remix mad 50 Cent and Jay Z songs. Back in the days, I used to listen to 2Pac, Biggie, Lil Wayne, Juvenile, Trick Daddy."

DAKAR, Senegal (Associated Press) — Deep in the forests of southern Guinea, the first victims fell ill with high fevers. People assumed it was the perennial killer malaria and had no reason to fear touching the bodies, as is the custom in traditional funerals.
Some desperate relatives brought their loved ones to the distant capital in search of better medical care, unknowingly spreading what ultimately was discovered to be Ebola, one of the world's most deadly diseases.
Ebola, a hemorrhagic fever that can cause its victims to bleed from the ears and nose, had never before been seen in this part of West Africa where medical clinics are few and far between. The disease has turned up in at least two other countries — Liberia and Sierra Leone — and 539 deaths have been attributed to the outbreak that is now the largest on record.
The key to halting Ebola is isolating the sick, but fear and panic have sent some patients into hiding, complicating efforts to stop its spread. Ebola has reached the capitals of all three countries, and the World Health Organization reported 44 new cases including 21 deaths on Friday.
There has been "a gross misjudgment across the board in gauging the severity and scale of damage the current Ebola outbreak can unleash," the aid group Plan International warned earlier this month.
"There are no cases from outside Africa to date. The threat of it spreading though is very much there," said Dr. Unni Krishnan, head of disaster preparedness and response for the aid group.
Preachers are calling for divine intervention, and panicked residents in remote areas have on multiple occasions attacked the very health workers sent to help them. In one town in Sierra Leone, residents partially burned down a treatment center over fears that the drugs given to victims were actually causing the disease.
Activists are trying to spread awareness in the countryside where literacy is low, even through a song penned about Ebola.
"It has no cure, but it can be prevented; let us fight it together. Let's protect ourselves, our families and our nation," sings the chorus.
"Do not touch people with the signs of Ebola," sings musician and activist Juli Endee. "Don't eat bush meat. Don't play with monkey and baboons. Plums that bats have bitten or half-eaten, don't eat them."
Guinea first notified WHO about the emergence of Ebola in March and soon after cases were reported in neighboring Liberia. Two months later there were hopes that the outbreak was waning, but then people began falling ill in Sierra Leone.
Doctors Without Borders says it fears the number of patients now being treated in Sierra Leone could be "just the tip of the iceberg." Nearly 40 were reported in a single village in the country's east.
"We're under massive time pressure: The longer it takes to find and follow up with people who have come in contact with sick people, the more difficult it will be to control the outbreak," said Anja Wolz, emergency coordinator for the group, also referred to by its French name Medecins Sans Frontieres.
This Ebola virus is a new strain and did not spread to West Africa from previous outbreaks in Uganda and Congo, researchers say. Many believe it is linked to the human consumption of bats carrying the virus. Many of those who have fallen ill in the current outbreak are family members of victims and the health workers who treated them.
There is no cure and no vaccine for Ebola, and those who have survived managed to do so only by receiving rehydration and other supportive treatment. Ebola's high fatality rate means many of those brought to health clinics have been merely kept as comfortable as possible in quarantine as they await death. As a result, some families have been afraid to take sick loved ones to the clinics.
"Let this warning go out: Anyone found or reported to be holding suspected Ebola cases in homes or prayer houses can be prosecuted under the law of Liberia," President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf stated recently.

Her comments came just days after Sierra Leone issued a similar warning, saying some patients had discharged themselves from the hospital and had gone into hiding.
At the airport in Guinea's capital, departing passengers must undergo temperature screening, and those with a fever are pulled aside for further evaluation. Still, the stigma of Ebola follows Guineans well outside the region.
"The police treated us like we were aliens. They said they didn't want us in their country because of the disease affecting Guinea," says Tafsir Sow, a businessman who was briefly detained at the airport in Casablanca, Morocco before continuing on to Paris. "I had tears in my eyes."
Still, WHO health officials are hopeful they will be able to get the situation under control in the next several weeks. A recent conference in the capital of Ghana brought together health authorities from across the affected areas, and the countries agreed on a common approach to fight Ebola.
"When you have it spread, of course it's moving in the wrong direction," said Dr. Keiji Fukuda, WHO's assistant director-general for health security and environment. "You want to see the number of infections going down. So we really have to redouble our efforts. But saying that it's out of control makes it sound like there are no solutions. This is a virus for which there are very clear solutions."

Jovan "Pee Wee" Clayton has received a 4-month jail sentence for stealing, according to TMZ
As we previously reported, Clayton was arrested back in April and charged with grand larceny and two additional charges after taking items from a woman's purse while at the 10ak nightclub in West Hollywood, California.
He agreed to plead no contest to one count of receiving stolen property. In exchange prosecutors dropped the other 2 charges against him.
Clayon has until August 18 to surrender to authorities.
He's best known for being a member of the rap group The Rej3ctz. In 2011 they had a semi-hit entitled "Cat Daddy." Model Kate Upton helped to make it famous when she released a video dancing to it. The clip has racked up over 20 million YouTube views.

Lord Jamar sat down with VladTV once again and shared his take on Iggy Azalea's success, saying the industry is pushing Iggy, much more than they push the typical new artist, because she's pretty and white.
Jamar insists Iggy is being positioned to replace Nicki Minaj in Hip-Hop largely due to white privilege, but questions her authenticity as a rapper because she's from Australia yet raps with a Southern American accent, saying she's almost a caricature of a black MC.
Another femcee, Snow tha Product, was brought up in conversation, and Jamar says he knew three years ago that Iggy would be the one between the two to blow up first. When told that Snow is actually a good lyricist, Lord Jamar says he's not surprised she hasn't made it further because the game isn't about skill anymore, but popularity and presentation.

Before I recap Total Slaughter, I'd first like to congratulate Eminem on putting together a first class event. Everything was on point as Sway Calloway hosted, while Royce Da 5'9 and Ebro from Hot 97 provided commentary after each match, before the judges rendered their decisions.
Now let's take a look at the matches.
Hollow Da Don vs Joe Budden (Winner: Hollow)
This match was better than some might have expected. Budden performed very well. His punches and delivery were on point, but Hollow was simply that much better. Both had issues with the mic, but Hollow overcame that, did his thing all three rounds and came away with the victory.
I would like to see Joe back in the ring again. He has a lot of potential.
Murder Mook vs. Loaded Lux (Winner: Mook)
This was by far the best battle of the evening. The two legends picked right up from where their 2007 match left off.
Anybody who thought Mook had seen better days after a couple of recent sub-par performances were dead wrong. While Loaded was sharp as usual, Mook was as focused as I've ever seen him.
The judges didn't reveal the margin by which Mook won, but I would have to say he took this 3-0..When asked if he would battle Loaded again, Rex said he'd consider it for a lot more money than he paid last night.
Daylyt vs. T Rex (Winner T Rex)
This will go down as one of the most bizarre spectacles in the history of battle rap. Daylyt needed to be on his A game to beat T Rex. After watching him perform during "The Road to Total Slaughter" series I expected Day would be up to the task, but he chose theatrics over bars.
The West Coast emcee came out dressed like the character Spawn. The first two rounds belonged to Rex. In the final round Day didn't spit a single bar. Instead he held up an empty prescription bottle he said was for his schizophrenia. He then proceeded to rip off his costume and lay down on the stage.
"My man, get the f*ck up," Ebro told him. "I didn't come out here for this."
Of course T Rex got the victory. As talented as Daylyt is, he has to decide if he wants his legacy to be that of a great rapper or class clown.
Arsonal vs Big T (Winner: Arsonal)
This wasn't a close battle at all. Arsonal was in top form and Big T was not. The decision to award Arsonal the victory wasn't a hard one for the judges.
Overall it was a good show. Fans should be looking forward to the next Total Slaughter event.
