Aaron Hernandez had advance stages of Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) at the time of his death, according to his lawyer Jose Baez.

The Associated Press reports that during a news conference in his office on Thursday, September 21, Baez said he had filed a federal lawsuit against the NFL and the team the former star tight end had played for, the New England Patriots on behalf of Hernandez's daughter.

CTE can only be diagnosed in an autopsy. Tests conducted on Hernandez's brain at Boston University's Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy Center, concluded he was at stage 3 (of 4).

According to ESPN, that amount of brain damage is normally seen in a man in his late 60's.

Hernandez was 27 when he committed suicide in his cell at the Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center in Lancaster, Massachusetts, on April 19, 2017.

At the time he was serving a life sentence without the possibility for parole for the 2013 murder of Odin Lloyd.

Five days before hanging himself, Hernandez was acquitted in the 2012 drive-by shootings of two men in Boston. 

CTE is found in people who have suffered repeated concussions. Symptoms include depression, impaired judgement, suicidal thoughts or behavior, emotional instability and impulsive behavior.

Former NFL players found to have CTE include Ken Stabler, Junior Seau. Bubba Smith, Rob Lytle, Mosi Totupu, Frank Gifford and 104 others.

Tyga just settled a lawsuit brought against him by his former management company for a whopping $1.5 million.

TMZ reports that C&J Management claims they made the 27-year old, born Michael Ray Stevenson, a worldwide star and he repaid them by giving them the boot with no cause.

C&J says they lost millions of dollars in commissions because of the firing.

Tyga will have to chip away at the debt in installments, beginning with a $250,000 payment that is due within 10 days of signing the settlement papers. Afterwards there will be 4 installments of $137,500 each. He'll then have to cough up $700,000 on June 1, 2019, to satisfy the remaining balance.

That's a lot of money, but things could have been worse for Tyga. C&J was initially seeking $4 million.

A Caddo Parish, Louisiana Grand Jury has indicted Mystikal on one count each of first-degree rape and second-degree kidnapping.

The indictment, which was handed down Tuesday, September 19, stems from an incident that allegedly took place at a Shreveport casino where the 46-year old rapper, born Michael Lawrence Tyler, performed in 2016.

KSLA reports that his bond has been set at $3 million.

The New Orleans native initially turned himself in on August 21. At the time a member of the Mystikal's camp told TMZ that the accusation was false, and he planned on pleading not guilty.

Two other people were also indicted in connection with the crime.

26-year old Darnell Holman on one count each of first-degree rape and second-degree kidnapping. His bond has been set at $3 million.

Tenichia Monieck Wafford, 42, on one count of obstruction of justice. Her bond is set at $500,000.

This is the second time Mystikal has been in trouble for a sexually-related crime.

In 2003 the "Danger (Been So Long)" hit maker pleaded guilty to sexual battery and extortion. He was sentenced to six years in prison.

It has been rumored that the NFL wants Justin Timberlake and JAY-Z to perform at Super Bowl 52 on February 4, 2018. But if reports that have surfaced today are true, the league will have to look for another partner for Timberlake because Hov has thrown up a stop sign.

The Metro quotes remarks made by an insider to The Sun newspaper regarding JAY's lack of interest in the event.

"Lots of people have been saying Jay will perform with Justin Timberlake, but it is simply not the case," the insider says. "He has enough songs to create an incredible performance but he really has no plans to do the half-time show."

On Friday, September 15, JAY showed support for out of work NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick, by dedicating the song "The Story of O.J." to him during a concert in New York City.

"I want to dedicate this song to anybody that was held back and you overcame whatever it was," Hov told the crowd.

Despite being more talented than a lot of QB's playing in the league, Kaepernick, has not been picked up by a team. Many believe he's being blackballed because he protested police brutality in America by kneeling during the National Anthem last season.

JAY's wife Beyonce received backlash following her halftime performance at Super Bowl 50 in 2016. The singer was criticized for being too political with her dedication to the Black Panther Party and for supporting Black Lives Matter.

Whether or not those are the reasons JAY-Z turned down the NFL's invite may never be known, but the league is certainly not used to being rejected by artists who have an opportunity to perform at the world's biggest sporting event.

Migos member Offset is honoring his late grandmother Sallie Ann Smith, who died of bladder cancer in 2012, by starting a $500,000 fundraiser via the American Cancer Society.

“It was really tough losing my grandma to cancer and one of the hardest things I have dealt with in my life. She motivated me to do my best and go for it; one of my biggest coaches," said Offset.

The 25-year old Lawrenceville, Georgia native hopes to inspire fellow colleagues, friends, business partners and fans to join in the fight with him.

“Losing a loved one to cancer is devastating, and we need to continue to help educate our communities about early detection and screening guidelines. I am incredibly proud of Offset’s desire to help save the lives of others, genuine heart, and talent as an artist," his mother, Latabia Woodward, said.
