Bun B spoke to VladTV about DJ Screw being a hero to people in Houston, and added that he sold so many cassettes at his house that he had to put up a gate to control the masses that would gather outside. The UGK legend also revealed how people felt differently about Lean after DJ Screw's death, but Bun B said that DJ Screw wouldn't have wanted people to stop sippin'.

During the conversation, Bun B also detailed recording "Sippin' on Some Sizzurp" after Atlanta had iced over and they had to travel up Pimp C's winding hillside driveway to record at his house.

Rapper Young Greatness, whose given name was Theodore Jones, was killed in a shooting early Monday morning (Oct. 29) on Elysian Fields Avenue, according to a report from TV station WDSU.

Jones' mother, Jeanine Rose, told WDSU her son was fatally shot in a Waffle House parking lot early Monday. He was in New Orleans for a funeral and was Facetiming with his manager when the shooting started, Rose told WDSU.

According to preliminary information from NOPD, the shooting was reported at 1:35 a.m. in the 2900 block of Elysian Fields Avenue (map). Police said a 34-year-old man died at the scene, but authorities have not released his name.

After the shooting, the Waffle House parking lot location was taped off, as well as a portion of the 2100 block of Abundance Street, which borders the lot. Evidence cones were scattered across the parking lot, and crime scene investigators could be seen measuring distances outside the restaurant.

Young Greatness is known for his 2015 song, “Moolah," which made it to the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The music video was set in New Orleans.

(New York Daily News) Gunfire erupted at rapper Tekashi69’s Upper East Side celebration after he beat jail time in a child sex case, cops said.

A group of men tried to push their way into the party at Philippe’s on Madison Ave and 59th St. but were turned away. That’s when the shooting started, police said.

Passers-by ducked for cover as bullets flew in one of the city’s most upscale areas.

“There were two gunshots about two seconds apart. A woman ran in with kids and everybody was under the tables," said a customer at Le Bilboquet, across the street.

One man was struck in the abdomen. He was in stable condition, but not cooperating with law enforcement, sources said.

There are unconfirmed reports that the victim is Tekashi69’s body guard.

Tekashi69, born Daniel Hernandez, was celebrating a judge’s decision to give him four years’ probation for use of a child in a sexual performance in a video.

(New York Post) - A soft Manhattan judge went easy on rainbow-haired rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine and sentenced him to four years of probation for posting a video online of a 13-year-old girl engaged in a sex act.

Justice Felicia Mennin also ordered the performer, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, to complete 1,000 hours of community service and granted him youthful offender status, which will seal his criminal record.

The slap on the wrist came over the objection of prosecutors, who asked for one to three years in prison.

Tekashi took a no-jail plea deal in 2015 but Assistant DA Sara Weiss said he had repeatedly violated the agreement by getting into trouble during the probationary period and it should be yanked.

Tekashi, 22, was busted in Texas last January for choking a teen fan and nabbed a few months later in Brooklyn for driving on a suspended license and assaulting a cop.

She said the face-tattooed rapper had also joined the gang 9 Trey Bloods, which he openly promotes in his music.

But the judge called the arrests “technical violations” of the plea agreement and said his accomplishments and charity work had outweighed the missteps.

The “Gummo” rhymer flashed a triumphant smile as he left Manhattan Supreme Court with his three retained attorneys.

After court, lawyer Dawn Florio said that Tekashi’s father had been murdered when he was 13, and he was suddenly forced to become the primary breadwinner for his family.

“The loss of his father really destroyed him,” she said.

His Brooklyn and Texas cases are still pending.
