In this clip, Boosie shared his thoughts on FBG Duck being killed in broad daylight in a prestigious area of Chicago. When Vlad stated that the killers likely felt like they were going to get away with murder, Boosie said that people don't think about the aftermath when money is involved, especially if it's over $20,000.

LONDON (AP) — A woman who believes London’s air pollution contributed to her 9-year-old daughter’s death has won a court battle for a new inquest.

Ella Kissi-Debrah, who died after an asthma attack is thought to be the first person in the world to have air pollution listed as a cause of death in a landmark coroner's ruling.

Three High Court judges said Thursday that “the discovery of new evidence makes it necessary in the interests of justice that a fresh inquest be held” into the death of Ella.

Ella lived 25 meters (yards) from one of London’s busiest roads. She died in February 2013 following three years of seizures and 27 hospital visits for asthma attacks.

"Ella died of asthma contributed to by exposure to excessive air pollution," Philip Barlow, the coroner for Ella's south London neighborhood, said on Wednesday. He said that during Ella's life particulate matter levels in her neighborhood were above WHO guidelines and nitrogen dioxide emissions exceeded legal limits.

Her mother, Rosamund Kissi-Debrah, said she looked forward “to finally getting the truth.”

She said that “if it is proved that pollution killed Ella then the government will be forced to sit up and take notice that this hidden but deadly killer is cutting short our children’s lives.”

Video After The Jump

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A Black man who was sent to prison for life as a teenager took his first steps of freedom to the sound of ringing bells and cheering family members and supporters, hours after a pardons board commuted his sentence in a high-profile murder case.

Myon Burrell’s prosecution and harsh punishment raised questions about the integrity of the criminal justice system that put him away nearly two decades ago for the death of a young girl killed by a stray bullet. Earlier this year, The Associated Press and APM Reports uncovered new evidence and serious flaws in the police investigation, ultimately leading to the creation of an independent national legal panel to review the case.

Last week, the panel published its findings, saying there was a “failure to investigate that illustrates tunnel vision” and that evidence that could have helped exonerate Burrell was either ignored or minimized.

The panel said it saw no purpose served by keeping Burrell locked up, pointing to his age at the time of the crime and his good behavior behind bars.

Burrell’s request for a pardon was denied and he will have to spend the next two years under supervised release. But it was the first time in at least 22 years that Minnesota commuted a sentence in a murder case, according the the Department of Corrections.

The release was swift. Just hours after receiving the news, he walked out the front door of Stillwater prison into below-freezing temperatures. Dozens of bundled supporters, some holding signs and balloons, surrounded Burrell while cheering “Myon’s free! Myon’s free!”

After jumping into a waiting car, he was soon home. Friends and relatives filtered into the living room, greeting him with gifts and hugs.

“It’s just a blessing,” he said, while standing outside on the street searching the sky for the moon and stars, which he said he’s been longing to see.

Burrell has always maintained his innocence in the 2002 killing of 11-year-old Tyesha Edwards, struck in the heart while doing homework at the dining room table with her little sister. He told Minnesota’s Board of Pardons members Gov. Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison that his “heart goes out” to her family. The third board member, Supreme Court Chief Justice Lorie Skjerven Gildea, recused herself, citing prior involvement with the case.

A 2-year-old boy was abandoned outside a Goodwill in Southaven, Mississippi, with a plastic bag containing a change of clothes and a note, police said.

A person connected to the case was arrested in Memphis, Tennessee on Monday afternoon, according to the Southaven Police Department, which declined to provide additional details.

"At this time the investigation is still on going, no suspect information or charges are being released," the department said in a Facebook post.

The child was found outside the Goodwill drop-off just before 10 a.m. on Monday, police said. He was unable to give officers his name or the names of his parents or family members, the department said in its post.

But Antoinette Smith says she never had any intention of giving up her son, whose name is Sergio.

Speaking over the phone to Memphis activist Barbara Buress in a Facebook Live broadcast, she said she met up with a male acquaintance Sunday and went to Nashville. She said Sergio remained with the man’s sister in Memphis.

But she said that her acquaintance later revealed that it wasn’t his sister, but his girlfriend that the child was with.

“If I knew that I said I wouldn’t have left my baby like that. Ain’t no way I would have left my baby. That’s all I got with me,” said Smith.

Smith said the acquaintance then abandoned her at a Nashville store after she refused to work for him.

“He was like, ‘You better get out there and sell some a-s-s’ and all that type of stuff. I told him, ‘I’m not doing nothing,’” Smith said.

Surveillance video captured a man, woman and a red vehicle they were driving when the boy was abandoned. The man was seen dropping the child off before walking away, police said.

An employee at Goodwill told local station WREG that the man walked up to him and said that the child's mother could no longer care for him and then left, according to the outlet. A handwritten note on a paper towel read: "child abandoned... no phone number for mom."

WREG reports that Smith will be returning to the Memphis area after Buress arranged for her to be picked up in Nashville.

Sergio remains in CPS custody.

A pregnant woman and two men have been thrown from a moving vehicle after having their hands amputated by a Mexican drug cartel as punishment for alleged acts of robbery.

The grisly incident happened in the Central Mexican state of Guanajuato.

The victims, who remain in a critical condition, were rescued by witnesses near the town of Silao, Guanajuato. The Prosecutor General has opened an investigation into events. All three are believed to be between the age of 22 and 25.

Guanajuato finds itself at the centre of a brutal turf war between the Cartel Jalisco Nuevo Generación (CJNG) and the Santa Rosa de Lima/Sinaloa Cartel alliance. In the absence of effective law enforcement from Federal authorities, local groups often uphold their own interpretations of the law themselves, often with extreme violence.

The victims were accused by the CJNG of robbery. A note attached to one of the men read: “This happened to me for being a thief, and because I didn’t respect hard working people and continued to rob them. Anyone who does the same will suffer. Signed Elite Group.”. The Elite Group are a notoriously vicious enforcement arm of the CJNG.

Video footage posted on Twitter, late on Friday night, showed the woman, who has not been named, begging eyewitnesses for help. The victim’s hands, which were placed in a bag next to the victims, were recovered at the scene by paramedics.

Official statistics show that between January and August of 2020, Guanajuato was responsible for 13 per cent of murders nationwide. As hostilities escalated, September saw 3,438 murders, almost entirely between cartels vying for control of the region.

The state is the gateway between the cartel-dominated north of Mexico and Mexico City, a city of over 28 million people. Controlling the corridor between the capital and the cartel heartlands of Sonora, Chihuahua and Sinaloa assures cartels of the ability to transport drugs and supplies from their safe zones in the North to the rest of the country.

Keyontae Johnson is talking to his family and doctors, and he even FaceTimed his team on Tuesday in a sign of remarkable progress for the Florida star, according to a statement from his parents on Tuesday.

A day after the program said Johnson was "following simple commands" but remained in critical but stable condition, he appeared to take another step in his recovery.

"Keyontae is in stable condition today, breathing on his own and speaking with us and with his doctors here at UF Health. He even FaceTimed the team! We feel so much love and support from everyone, and we're beyond grateful for the care and attention that Keyontae has received throughout these past several days," Nika and Marrecus Johnson said in a statement.

During a matchup against rival Florida State on Saturday, Johnson was walking onto the court after a timeout when he collapsed and fell face-first onto the floor. Florida and Florida State players were clearly distraught and emotional following the incident.

Johnson received medical attention on the court before he was taken to a local hospital in Tallahassee, Tallahassee Memorial, and subsequently transported to UF Hospital in Gainesville two days later, according to the school. He had been listed in critical but stable condition prior to Tuesday's development.

Johnson, a first-round prospect in ESPN.com's latest NBA mock draft, had finished an alley-oop, ran down the court and celebrated with his teammates on the sideline prior to the incident. That day, his parents traveled from Virginia, where he's from, to be with him in Florida.

According to the Associated Press, Johnson and some of his teammates had tested positive for COVID-19 prior to the season. The virus can cause myocarditis, a heart condition, but the school and family have not revealed a diagnosis at this point.

School officials announced Tuesday that their Wednesday matchup against North Florida had been postponed.

Johnson is averaging 19.7 points per game this season.

A 29-year-old Fort Lauderdale man is in jail on accusations that he stabbed the mother of his child in the eyes leaving her blind, threw their 1-year-old child through a window and attacked his own mom.

According to his arrest report, Pierre Gabriel Francois’ mother told Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies that her son, who suffers from schizophrenia, had an episode and started beating her. She said she then saw Francois throw his daughter from a first-floor window. Evidence markers lined the broken windows with blood underneath them after the incident.

Deputies said the woman ran to a neighbor’s home for help and that neighbor immediately called police.

When deputies arrived at the family’s home on Northwest 27th Lane, they made two gruesome discoveries. First, authorities saw the toddler lying face-down in the front yard. Inside, they found the mother of Francois’ child with stab wounds to her face and eyes.

Both the baby's mother and the child are hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, and Francois is charged with two counts of attempted felony murder and one charge of aggravated assault.

The mother is not expected to be able to see again, Broward Assistant State Attorney Eric Linder said in first appearance court Monday. She also has a lacerated trachea and liver.

The baby suffered traumatic brain injuries and is non-responsive, prosecutors said.

Francois’ bail was set at $550,000 by Broward Circuit Judge Daniel Kanner.

A mental health evaluation will be ordered for Francois.

In this clip, Mike Tyson begins by speaking about firing his entire team in 2000 and being $60 million in debt. He explained that he has fought hard to get out of the debt, and he added that he's not had any tax issues for two years. Mike then went on to speak about an altercation he had with Don King in 2003, which he admits was "immature." He explained that his mind started going to a dark place when he was on his former private jet with Don, who Mike says he felt like was dissing him. Once they were in the car and headed down the highway in Miami, Mike pushed Don's seat, and Don left him on the highway with a shoe box full of drugs. To hear more, including how a cop took him back to his hotel.

TOKYO (AP) — A Japanese court on Tuesday sentenced a man to death for killing and dismembering nine people, most of whom had posted suicidal thoughts on social media, in a case that shocked the country.

The Tachikawa branch of the Tokyo District Court found Takahiro Shiraishi, known as the “Twitter killer,” guilty of killing, dismembering and storing the bodies of the victims in his apartment in Zama, near Tokyo.

Shiraishi, 30, pleaded guilty and said he would not appeal his death sentence.

Police arrested Shiraishi in 2017 after finding the bodies of eight females and one male in cold-storage cases in his apartment.

Investigators said Shiraishi approached the victims via Twitter, offering to assist them with their suicidal wishes. He killed the women, including teenagers, after raping them, and also killed a boyfriend of one of the women to silence him, investigators said.

On Twitter, Shiraishi used the name “Hangman,” promising to help his victims die and inviting them to his apartment.

Although his defense lawyers argued that he assisted the victims’ suicidal wishes, Shiraishi later said he killed them without their consent.

In the ruling, presiding Judge Naokuni Yano said none of the victims agreed to be killed and that Shiraishi was fully responsible for their deaths, according to media reports.

He said the crime was extremely heinous and had caused fear and concern in a society where social media have become an indispensable part of everyday life, NHK public television reported.

Japan’s suicide rate ranks among the world’s highest. Following a recent decline, the number has climbed back this year as people were hit by the effects of the pandemic.

Japan’s crime rate is relatively low, but it has experienced some recent high-profile killings. In July 2016, a former employee of a home for the disabled allegedly killed 19 residents and injured more than 20 others.

Johnny Wilkes filed a lawsuit against Basketball Hall of Famer Jerry West, saying he was instrumental in helping the Clippers sign Kawhi Leonard in 2019.

TMZ Sports obtained the $2.5 million lawsuit in which Wilkes claims he and West came to an agreement whereby Wilkes would provide the Clippers with information to lure Leonard to Los Angeles. Wilkes says he has a close relationship with Leonard and Kawhi's uncle, Dennis Robertson.

According to Wilkes, he was the person who told the Clippers they should pursue Paul George to pair with Leonard.

"This information was vital, because it was the exact information Kawhi Leonard wanted to hear at the time in order to effectuate his signing with the Clippers," the lawsuit says.

Wilkes claims West guaranteed him payment on several occasions, including at a dinner following Leonard's signing with the team.

If Wilkes' claims are found to be accurate, the Clippers could face significant ramifications under NBA league rules. Leonard's signing would be viewed as a violation of the league's collective bargaining agreement, and the Clippers would be subject to punishment for tampering.

It's possible the league could look to void Leonard's deal with the Clippers outright, similar to Joe Smith and the Minnesota Timberwolves—the most famous contractual circumvention of the league's CBA.

However, the burden of proof will be on Wilkes to prove his lawsuit has merit.

A rep for Jerry West told TMZ Sports he did nothing improper ... and didn't even know he was being sued.

“I am not aware of any lawsuit being filed against me and I deny engaging in any improper conduct in connection with the signing of Kawhi Leonard.”
