PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. (7News) — Three suspects have been arrested & charged on Sunday after a pregnant Prince George's County 18-year-old was shot & killed last week.
Prince George's County police say they have identified & charged 3 people with Wednesday's deadly shooting of 18-year-old J'Lyn Quinones, and all 3 were taken into custody in D.C.
Quinones & another female were shot as they crossed Quinn Street toward Southern Avenue in unincorporated Capitol Heights & went into D.C. trying to find help, according to police.
Quinones' unborn baby was delivered during emergency surgery & Quinones died a short time after arriving at the hospital due to her injuries.
The baby is expected to live but is still in the hospital & the second female who was shot received injuries not considered to be life-threatening.
The suspects have been identified as 21-year-old Malik Johnson & his brother 22-year-old Michael Johnson, along with 23-year-old Bianca McDuffie, police say, & all 3 suspects' last known addresses were in Southwest D.C.
Police say the shooter has been identified as Malik Johnson & the brother, Michael Johnson, is believed to be the baby's father and had been involved with Quinones.
Investigators are still working to determine the motive of the shooting & Johnson has been charged with first and second-degree murder for the deadly shooting along with two counts of attempted first and second-degree murder for the shooting of the second female and the newborn baby.
Police say Michael Johnson & Bianca McDuffie have been charged with accessory after the fact, first-degree murder, for helping Malik get away after the shooting & all 3 suspects were found at McDuffie's house.
All 3 suspects will likely be extradited to Prince George's County
