16-Year Old Miami-Dade Carjacking Suspect Dies In Police Custody. Witnesses Say He Was Beaten, Investigation Launched (Video)

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. (Local10) – Cell phone video from several different angles captured the aftermath of a wild crash Sunday night.

Police radio transmissions revealed the 16-year-old driver who led police on a 20-mile chase from Broward to Miami-Dade in a stolen car was pulled out of the vehicle by officers.

But witnesses are telling Local 10 News the boy was also roughed up.

“You could see them just kicking him in the head, kicking him in the side, kicking him everywhere & it was just total shock,” said one witness.

The teenage suspect had been tied to a carjacking in Hollywood at a gas station on Sheridan Street.

He fled with Hollywood police on his tail & apparently lost control in Northwest Miami-Dade near 62nd Street & 27th Avenue.

Records show that paramedics responded within 5 minutes, checked out the teen & left shortly after.

“There needs to be a better way and that wasn’t the best way to handle that,” said witness Tatiana Lopez.

At some point while in the custody of Miami-Dade police, the 16-year-old became unconscious & died.

“The way they were carrying him, I don’t think they should’ve did it that way because he just came from a car wreck,” said witness Blas Barrios. “I just hope that the truth gets revealed, with what truly happened to that kid.”

Added Lopez: “No matter, that kid, his situation & what he’s going through and whatever he’s doing, he’s a human being at the end of the day.”

Pa. Cops Fatally Shoot 8-Year Old Fanta Bility, But The 2 Teenagers They Were Chasing Are Charged With Her Murder

It began, prosecutors say, when 2 teenage boys, carrying a grudge between them & the guns to settle it, exchanged gunfire outside a high school football stadium just as a game was winding down in the suburbs of Philadelphia.

It ended with the death of an 8-year-old girl named Fanta Bility — killed not by the 2 boys, but by a barrage of bullets unleashed by 3 police officers on the scene, who began firing toward a car they mistakenly believed was the source of the gunshots.

Now, more than 2 months after the fatal police shooting that shook the small town of Sharon Hill, criminal charges have been brought in the case — but not against the 3 officers. The 3 teenage boys have been charged with first-degree murder for setting in motion the events that led to the death of the girl, a daughter of West African immigrants who was attending the game to watch her sister, a cheerleader & her cousin, one of the football players.

The decision by prosecutors to charge the 2 teenagers, even though they did not fire the shot that killed the girl, while allowing the police officers involved to keep their jobs, has stirred outrage in the community & angered her family who worry that the police will ultimately evade accountability.

The charges rely on a legal theory known as “transferred intent,” which prosecutors believe applies in this case because they say the 2 teenagers had intended to kill each other & the result of their actions was Fanta’s death. But experts say prosecutors are stretching the definition of “transferred intent” & could have difficulty making the charges stand up in court.

Florida Teacher Charged With Molesting A 12-Year Old Girl He Was Tutoring Says The Devil Made Him Do It

A teacher accused of molesting a 12-year-old during a private tutoring session at a public library in Plantation told the girl's mother "it was the devil that made him do it," according to an arrest affidavit released Tuesday.

Leslie Wolfe, 63, was charged with lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim 12 to 16 years old and lewd and lascivious conduct, Plantation Police officials said Monday.

Police said Wolfe, a 6th grade teacher at Bethlehem Junior Academy in Tamarac, also gave private tutoring lessons in math and chemistry.

The allegations stem from a tutoring session with the 12-year-old in a private study room at the West Broward Regional Library on Nov. 10, police said.

According to the affidavit, the girl had been Wolfe's student at Bethlehem and her mother had hired him to be the girl's tutor.

Wolfe had had five previous one-hour tutoring sessions before incident where no inappropriate touching occurred, the affidavit said.

But during the session on Nov. 10, Wolfe repeatedly inappropriately touched the girl in her private area and upper leg area, the affidavit said.

After the girl repeatedly removed Wolfe's hand from her body or pulled away from him, Wolfe told her "sorry to make you nervous" then ended the tutoring session, the affidavit said.

Wolfe told the girl's mother she'd had an "emotional moment" during the tutoring, but the girl later told her mother what had really happened, the affidavit said.

The girl's mother said she called Wolfe and had a friend, a former federal agent with U.S. Postal Service, listen in on the conversation, the affidavit said.

During the call, Wolfe didn't deny the accusations and told the mother "it was the devil that made him do it," the affidavit said.

"Wolfe stated he contacted his church and was going to attempt to get help tomorrow in reference to the devil making him do these acts to [the victim]," the affidavit said.

Wolfe was booked into the Broward jail, where he was being held on $150,000 bond Tuesday, records showed. Attorney information wasn't available.

Judge Orders Vanessa Bryant To Turn Over Her Therapy Records To L.A. County In Her Lawsuit Claiming Emotional Distress Over Leaked Crash Site Photos Of Kobe & Gianna Bryant

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A judge has ruled that Kobe Bryant’s widow must turn over her therapy records to Los Angeles County in her lawsuit claiming she suffered emotional distress after first responders took & shared graphic photos from the site of the 2020 helicopter crash that killed the basketball star, his teenage daughter & 7 others.

U.S. District Court Magistrate Judge Charles Eick granted a request by county lawyers to review Vanessa Bryant’s records, the Los Angeles Times reported Monday. But the judge limited the documents to the years since 2017, not 2010 as the lawyers had sought.

“Plaintiff has waived her psychotherapist-patient privilege by placing into controversy the reportedly extraordinary, continuing emotional distress allegedly resulting from Defendants’ photograph-related actions or inactions,” the judge wrote of the Jan. 26, 2020, crash near Los Angeles.

Vanessa Bryant testified in her deposition that because of the photos she has suffered constant fear & anxiety & has had trouble sleeping. She is suing for invasion of privacy, asking for damages for emotional distress. The case is scheduled for trial in February.

County lawyers led by outside counsel Skip Miller argue that the deaths themselves caused her distress, and they sought the therapy records to determine Bryant’s mental state.

The same judge rejected a previous effort by the county to require her to undergo a mental health evaluation.

Her lawyers argued that the effort to get her therapy records was a further invasion of her privacy.

“The County continues to have nothing but the deepest sympathy for the enormous grief Ms. Bryant suffered as a result of the tragic helicopter accident. We are gratified that the Court has granted our motion for access to her medical records, as it is a standard request in lawsuits where a plaintiff demands millions of dollars for claims of emotional distress,” Miller said in a statement.

Husband Of Slain Kenyan Olympic Runner Agnes Tirop Charged With Her Murder, Pleads Not Guilty

ELDORET, Kenya, Nov 16 (Reuters) - Ibrahim Rotich, the husband of slain Kenyan Olympic runner Agnes Tirop, was charged with her murder & pleaded not guilty in a Kenyan court on Tuesday.

Rotich, 41, had been ordered last week to undergo a mental health test before entering a plea. Tirop was found stabbed to death at her home in the Rift Valley town of Iten on Oct. 13, in a case that has shone a spotlight on violence against women in the east African country.

Rotich appeared in court in handcuffs, wearing a black jacket & a cap. He looked down at the floor for most of the proceedings.

Rotich's lawyer, Joseline Mitei, declined to discuss the details or results of his mental health evaluation.

"I intend to put formal application in court for my client to be released on bail," Mitei said.

The bail hearing is set for Dec. 1.

Police arrested Rotich in the coastal city of Mombasa the day after Tirop's body was discovered. They said he had been trying to flee the country.

In September, Tirop broke the women-only 10km world record in Germany. She won bronze medals at the 2017 & 2019 World Championships in the 10,000 meters.

Alec Baldwin Is A ‘Target’ For Blame In ‘Rust’ Shooting Because Of His Political Views, Brother Daniel Says

Alec Baldwin is being made a scapegoat in the fatal "Rust" shooting because of political views ... at least according to his brother.

Daniel Baldwin appeared Monday on "The Domenick Nati Show" ... and during the radio hit, he said his brother should NOT be taking the blame for the fatal incident on set.

The way Daniel sees it ... Alec is being scapegoated because he's the big star with outspoken political views, making for an easy target.

Daniel says ... "You know Alec's got the name though doesn't he, so let's go ahead & take Alec for his political views & the many, many wonderful things he's done for different charities & people & his wife & let's see if we can't sensationalize this & go after Alec."

While Daniel doesn't go into Alec's political views, it's no secret Alec did not like Donald Trump, often imitating the former President on 'SNL,' & endorsing Barack Obama back in the day.

Remember ... one of the first to publicly pile on Alec was Donald Trump Jr., who posted t-shirts reading, "Guns don't kill people, Alec Baldwin kills people."

While it seems Don Jr.'s actions support Daniel's scapegoating theory, it's worth noting the District Attorney investigating the case in New Mexico, Mary Carmack-Altwies, is a Democrat.

Instead, Daniel says the armorer, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, is responsible for the death of Halyna Hutchins ... along with assistant director Dave Halls.

In Daniel's eyes, Alec is exonerated by the fact folks on set told police Halls announced the gun he handed AB was "cold," meaning it did not have live ammunition.

No charges have been filed & no arrests have been made ... but Daniel believes when the dust settles AB won't be the one going to jail.

Charlotte Police Charge Singer DaniLeigh With 2 Counts Of Assault Following Incidents With Her Baby's Dad, Rapper DaBaby

CHARLOTTE (WSOC-TV 9) — Singer Danielle Curiel, also known as DaniLeigh, is facing 2 assault charges stemming from altercations late Sunday & Monday morning with rapper DaBaby.

DaBaby, whose legal name is Jonathan Kirk, told responding officers late Sunday that Curiel assaulted him & he was advised to pursue charges against her the following morning at the magistrate’s office. However, officers were called to the same uptown address Monday morning & Kirk stated that Curiel assaulted him a second time.

The rapper & Charlotte native posted to Instagram Live alerting fans that he was calling the police.

Sunday’s incident began with an argument between the 2 entertainers that was streamed on Instagram Live. In the clip, which was shared widely online on Monday, Kirk can be seen feeding the couple’s infant daughter, while Curiel claimed that he has been an absentee father & is now trying to force her out of his Charlotte apartment.

In an Instagram Stories post published a short while later, Kirk appealed for a rapid police response in the hopes it would defuse the situation.

“I don’t want no charges pressed or nothing. I just want her peacefully removed, which they need to hurry up [and] do as we speak. I ain’t even want that behavior on display but it’s OK, man this too shall pass, it’s all good,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, Curiel hurled insults & accusations at Kirk in a profanity-laden Instagram Stories post of her own.
