CINCINNATI (WXIX) - The family of the mother of six killed early Saturday in Over-the-Rhine wants justice for the death of their loved one.
Brandi Turner, 35, was shot and killed around 5:30 a.m. Saturday on East McMicken Avenue, according to the Cincinnati Police Department.
Brandi’s sister, N’Dia Turner, says the 35-year-old single mom was out trying to enjoy a rare night out but was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Brandi, who performed under the name NSanelyGorgeous, has just released her first music video hours earlier.
“She was just trying to celebrate. That’s all she was trying to do,” explained N’Dia.
While no one has been arrested in connection with Brandi’s death, her sister wants the shooter to be held accountable.
“I want the person who did this to be found, and I want justice for my sister, so do her kids and her family as well,” N’Dia said. “So, we’re just hoping for the best and that the person who is involved and did this is caught because they deserve to rot.”
It remains unclear what led up to the shooting.
Brandi was one of three people shot Saturday in OTR.
The other two people were taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Their conditions are unknown.

IRVING, Texas (AP) — A man has been charged with killing his girlfriend’s 2-year-old son in suburban Dallas after confessing to hitting the boy with his fists, police said.
Irving police said Friday that Arturo Santiago Pena-Almanza Jr., 23, was charged with capital murder in the death of Jeremiah Degrate Rios.
Police said officers and fire department personnel responding to an unconscious person call Tuesday morning found the child dead inside an apartment.
After investigators determined the death wasn’t an accident, Pena-Almanza was arrested Wednesday on a charge of abandoning or endangering a child, police said.
During an interview with investigators Thursday, Pena-Almanza confessed to hitting the child several times because the child wiped feces on him, police said. Pena-Almanza’s charge was then upgraded to capital murder.
An autopsy found multiple blunt force trauma injuries to the child’s body, including his head, according to an arrest warrant.
According to an arrest warrant, surveillance video showed Pena-Almanza leaving the apartment in the night with an alert and awake Jeremiah. When Pena-Almanza returned about 50 minutes later, Jeremiah appeared limp.
Pena-Almanza was being held Friday in Dallas County Jail. His bond was set at $500,000. Jail records did not list an attorney for him.

ATLANTA (AP) — A man already sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty to fatally shooting four people at a massage business outside Atlanta pleaded not guilty to shooting 4 others on the same day at 2 spas inside the city.
Robert Aaron Long, 22, appeared briefly Tuesday in Fulton County Superior Court, where he entered a not guilty plea on charges including murder, aggravated assault & domestic terrorism. District Attorney Fani Willis is seeking the death penalty.
In July, Long pleaded guilty in Cherokee County to charges including 4 counts of murder. He received 4 sentences of life without parole plus an additional 35 years.
Those killed in Cherokee County were: Paul Michels, 54; Xiaojie “Emily” Tan, 49; Daoyou Feng, 44; and Delaina Yaun, 33. The Atlanta victims were: Suncha Kim, 69; Soon Chung Park, 74; Hyun Jung Grant, 51; & Yong Ae Yue, 63.
Tuesday was the second time Long appeared before Fulton County Superior Court Judge Ural Glanville. The hearing lasted a few minutes. Glanville asked the defense if they wanted to waive indictment & plead not guilty, & defense attorney Jerilyn Bell said yes. Long did not address the judge. Glanville set the next hearing in the case for Nov. 23.
When the killings happened in March, Asian Americans were already experiencing an uptick in hostility related to the coronavirus pandemic. The fact that a majority of the slain victims were women of Asian descent exacerbated existing feelings of fear & anger. Many have been upset by Long’s assertions that he was motivated by the shame he felt from sexual urges, rather than by racial bias.
Cherokee County District Attorney Shannon Wallace said during the hearing in July that investigators found no evidence of racial bias motivating the killings. She said that had that case gone to trial, she was prepared to seek the death penalty & would have argued Long was motivated by gender bias.
Willis, the Fulton County district attorney, said last month that she believes race & gender played a role in Long’s motivation. Georgia’s hate crimes law does not provide for a stand-alone hate crime. After a person is convicted of an underlying crime, a jury must determine whether it was motivated by bias, which carries an additional penalty.
After shooting 5 people at Youngs Asian Massage in Cherokee County, Long drove about 30 miles south to Atlanta, where he shot 3 women at Gold Spa & 1 woman across the street at Aromatherapy Spa.
He then headed south on the interstate, and authorities have said he intended to carry out similar attacks in Florida.
But his parents had called police after recognizing their son in images from security video posted online by authorities in Cherokee County. His parents were already tracking his movements through an application on his phone, which allowed authorities to find him & take him into custody on a south Georgia interstate.

R. Kelly has just been found guilty on all counts in his federal sex crimes trial ... and could be staring down life in prison.
The jury started deliberating on Friday afternoon, had the weekend off, and took about half the day on Monday to reach its verdict on 9 federal counts ... including racketeering, sex crimes, human trafficking, obstruction of justice and kidnapping.
The trial wrapped a little over a month after it began ... with the prosecution calling far more witnesses than the defense. Kelly's team only called 5 witnesses over a couple of days. Kelly himself never took the stand.
Sentencing is scheduled for May 4, and now that Kelly's been convicted on all counts, he could get 10 years to life. Mind you, he's still set to go on a second federal trial in Chicago, and state trials in Illinois and Minnesota.
Monday's verdict in federal court in Brooklyn comes just over 2 years after Kelly was arrested in Chicago for multiple federal sex crimes in 2 different states.
Kelly's legal team called a handful of ex-Kelly employees and associates to take the stand in an effort to discredit allegations the singer sexually abused women, girls and boys.
Some of Kelly's ardent defenders said, under oath, they never saw Kelly abuse anyone. What's more ... some of the defense witnesses went as far as saying that, if anything, Kelly was "chivalrous" to his GFs.
Prosecutors, however, called dozens of witnesses to the stand to refute defense testimony and poke holes throughout. Some of the prosecutors' witnesses straight-up said Kelly had a small team made up of managers, bodyguards and assistants who rounded up Kelly's potential victims before the singer groomed them for unwanted sex, among other things.
These witnesses also testified saying Kelly's entourage would recruit potential victims ... either at his concerts, malls and even fast-food joints.
You'll recall one of the 2 women interviewed by Gayle King back in 2019 also took the witness stand ... and claimed Kelly was controlling them right then and there during the interview.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Timbaland paved his own way as a hit-making producer for elite acts like Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z, but now he’s creating a lane for aspiring music creators to collaborate with the industry’s biggest performers.
While his uber-successful “Verzuz” series with Swizz Beatz remains popular, Timbaland steps into a new venture called Beatclub, an online beat-selling marketplace. It’s a digital platform for music makers to connect with musicians, producers, songwriters, music publishers & record labels.
Through Beatclub, Timbaland looks to become a liaison between the unknown & the very well-known.
“I know what it’s like being a kid sitting in a room, don’t know if you got talent. The way that this world is moving, how do these kids get their music heard,” said Timbaland, a Grammy-winning producer & songwriter who has worked with Beyoncé, Missy Elliott, Rihanna, Madonna, Drake & more.
“This platform is a place where creators can communicate,” he continues. “I’m the head of the ship. But guess what, if you own a ship, you can communicate with me & you get better. I can point you to a Lil Durk or Lil Baby & tell them to lookout for this guy or girl & give that person a shot. That could be their biggest dream.”
Beatclub expects to officially launch later this year, but several top-line musicians & producers like J. Cole, Mike WiLL Made-It, Mike Dean, Tainy & Scott Storch have joined.
On Monday, Justin Timberlake announced that he’s joining Beatclub as well. The singer said he’s currently working with Timbaland & Beatclub on his upcoming record.
“When Tim told me about Beatclub, the concept behind it, I thought what a great, brilliant idea,” said Timberlake, who has won three Grammys with Timbaland for “Sexy Back,” “LoveStoned/I Think She Knows” & “Pusher Lover Girl.”
Timberlake said in a video first released to the AP that the platform could be an avenue for creatives to connect, communicate & share music without being in the same room.
“For people to have access to this type of tech & platform where you can share stuff, I find it really inspiring,” he said. “It gets me excited to collaborate with people I’ve never even met. Even the stuff we’re working on right now with my record, it’s all Beatclub. It’s Tim bringing in people who he’s found through this platform & bringing them to me.”
Timbaland predicted Beatclub will be extremely rewarding & educational to members, who can keep all their music rights & revenue, set their own terms for pricing & retain their publishing royalties. The platform won’t take any additional income from subscribers.
“You’re learning financial literacy,” he said. “You’re learning about wealth & how to control money & the business. It’s your own business. It’s a place for their tools to get valued when they think they are not.”
Timbaland calls this time of his life a rebirth after struggling with substance abuse, a divorce, being overweight and unhealthy a few years ago. But now, he has a renewed focus in his next phase after losing more than 100 pounds with a fresh scope on his entrepreneurial endeavors.
“I was reevaluating everything that was put in my life,” he said. “But I’m always a hustler. I’m always a pivot guy. … It’s about working smarter, not harder. That’s how I pivot.”

Don’t call Shaquille O’Neal a “celebrity.”
Although the Lakers legend has a stacked NBA resume and booming broadcast career (including countless commercials and brand deals), O’Neal wants to be remembered for his kindness before anything else.
“These celebrities are going freaking crazy and I don’t want to be one. I denounce my celebrity-ness today. I’m done with it,” O’Neal told The Post, while discussing his new campaign with Kellogg’s.
“I don’t want to be in that category. Celebrities are crazy, they really are. Don’t call me that anymore. These people are out of their freaking mind with how they treat people, what they do, what they say. That’s never been me. I never want to be looked at like that.”
The four-time champion has found a different way into the spotlight with his random acts of kindness, which he said he tries to do at least twice per week.
Since retiring from the NBA in 2011, he’s become known for helping others with grand gestures that have included paying for a stranger’s engagement ring — and more recently, funding one of his favorite Atlanta restaurants affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“All my life, everyone probably gets stereotyped, but us celebrities, we get stereotyped because most of these celebrities are out of their mind. I don’t do that. I’m a regular person that listened, followed his dreams and made it,” he said.
It’s easy to hone in on O’Neal’s life from the start of his NBA career to the present day, but things were much different before the 1992 NBA Draft — when the 7-foot-1 LSU product was selected first overall by the Orlando Magic.
O’Neal grew up poor in Newark, New Jersey, and has credited the Boys & Girls Club of America for helping to keep him off the streets and out of trouble.
“I came from nothing,” he said. “But, just because I made it doesn’t mean I’m bigger than you, smarter than you — just because I have more money doesn’t mean I’m better than you. I’ve never been that way and I never will be that way. So I don’t want to be in that category of people.
“When they talk about Shaq, what do you say? ‘He’s a nice guy.’ Because what else can you be? You’re either nice or you’re the A-word, and I definitely won’t be looked at as the A-word,” he said.
“I want people to say, ‘Bro, he’s nice. He didn’t have an entourage. His people didn’t take my phone because I took a picture and threw it.'”
Another good deed O’Neal is focused on, is helping kids play sports.

The late actor's widow, Lexis Jones Mason, tells TMZ ... Anthony's funeral has now been paid for, with nearly $70,000 in donations pouring in from famous folks and thousands of random donors.
We're told the Migos rapper chipped in $5,000 for the service, with Lil Rel Howery donating another $4k on the family's GoFundMe.
Lil Rel's rep tells us the comedian/actor felt compelled to help out because he sees comedy as a brotherhood.
Michael Blackson also helped raise $10,000, and in addition to donations, Anthony's widow tells us she received a flurry of calls this week from celebs like Fat Joe, D.L. Hughley, Faizon Love, Michael Colyar, Tommy Davidson, D.C. Young fly, Tyrin Turner and more.
We're told folks who called expressed their love, sent condolences and talked endlessly about how much they loved the "Friday" star.
TMZ broke the stories ... Anthony was found lifeless in a Los Angeles store earlier this month before being pronounced dead, and his family was scrambling to pay for his funeral.
With the services paid for, Anthony's widow says she's giving some of the extra money to his 4 children and she wants to use other funds to start a standup comedy school for underprivileged youth.
We're told Anthony didn't have life insurance, so Lexis wants to use some of the money to spread awareness and begin advocating for comedians and actors to get life insurance.
Bottom line ... Lexis says the family feels beyond blessed for the donations ... and will use the money to carry on AJ's legacy.

New Delhi (CNN) A defendant standing trial for murder has been killed by two men, believed to be members of a rival gang, who shot him in a New Delhi courtroom.
Two gunmen dressed as lawyers opened fire on Friday afternoon while a jailed gang member was being presented in court, according to Delhi Police.
"Two gangsters killed in immediate counterfire by police as they opened fire in lawyers' attire at a gangster UTP (Under Trial Prisoner) in Rohini court premises this afternoon. All 3 gangsters dead. No other injury or death occurred," Delhi Police wrote in a tweet.
Police added that an inquiry into the incident will be opened.
According to CNN affiliate News 18, Jitender Gogi, who was jailed last year for involvement in numerous criminal cases, was shot while he appeared in Rohini Court, a large court complex, for a hearing. He was declared dead at the hospital.
Gogi was arrested in April for his alleged involvement in 19 murder and attempted murder cases.
The Hindustan Times reported that, for years, Gogi had run a sophisticated organized crime syndicate. The paper said that he continued to commit crimes from jail, having reportedly used secret cellphones to extort people of money from inside his high-security prison cell.
One of Gogi's suspected killers, Sunil Maan, was a childhood friend before the two became deadly rivals, The Hindustan Times said. The two had fought a bloody turf war for more than a decade, the paper said.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Alexander Volkanovski defended his featherweight title with a bloody, tumultuous unanimous decision over Brian Ortega, and Valentina Shevchenko defended her flyweight belt with a fourth-round stoppage of Lauren Murphy at UFC 266 on Saturday night.
Nick Diaz also lost his first mixed martial arts fight in nearly seven years, declining to go on after Robbie Lawler knocked him down with punches early in the third round on an entertaining show at T-Mobile Arena.
Volkanovski (23-1) dominated the scorecards — 49-46, 50-45 and 50-44 — in his 20th consecutive victory, but the Australian still had to survive an extraordinary challenge from Ortega (15-2), who was relentless despite a bloodied face and a clearly damaged nose. Volkanovski survived a spectacular third round in which both fighters appeared to be moments from finishing the other.
“I thought I was in his head, and then he came back even stronger,” Volkanovski said. “Credit to him. ... It’s just preparation. I’m a normal human being. Hard work got me to where I am. Everyone can do what I’ve done.”

Volkanovski largely controlled the first two rounds with his usual impressive work rate and striking, but a bloodied Ortega knocked him down dramatically with a left hand in the third round.
Ortega pounced and nearly finished the champ with a guillotine choke, but Volkanovski willed his way out of it and got back on top — only for Ortega to escape and to trap Volkanovski in a triangle choke that the champ also barely escaped.
“It was, ’I’m about to lose this ... belt’ deep,” Volkanovski said of the guillotine. “That was as deep as it can get. I remember I was making weird noises. Just opened a little bit of space.”
Ortega was allowed to continue after a visit from the ringside doctor despite his apparently broken nose. In the fourth, Ortega got another takedown and nearly landed another choke, but Volkanovski gave a thumbs-up to the referee before escaping and finishing the round raining blows down on a prone Ortega, whose face was bloodied again.
“That absolutely was the best (featherweight) fight I’ve ever seen,” UFC President Dana White said. “I thought (Ortega’s) corner should have stopped the fight after the fourth round, and then he came out and won the fifth round. Incredible. Unbelievable.”
Both fighters received multiple standing ovations after the final bell. Ortega was taken to a hospital after the fight.
“I thought he was done,” Ortega said. “I was trying to go for his head, but he’s tough as hell. I tried to finish him. I heard him gargling, but he slipped out. He’s the champ for a reason.”
Shevchenko (22-3) cemented her status as one of MMA’s most dominant champions with her eighth consecutive victory over the last four years, including six stoppages.
The champion from Kyrgyzstan steadily wore down Murphy (15-5) over the first three rounds before stunning Murphy with a right hook and then battering her across the cage and onto the canvas, where she finished with punches and elbows on the ground.

Shevchenko said she won’t set goals for consecutive victories or title defenses, instead only seeking to learn “how far I can go. To discover what is my limit as a human. What is my limit as a martial artist.”
The 38-year-old Murphy had won five straight bouts since July 2018 to earn the first UFC title shot of her late-blooming MMA career. Yet she was little more than a tough sparring match for Shevchenko, who hasn’t lost to anyone in the past 11 years except two-belt champion Amanda Nunes.
Despite her divisional dominance, Shevchenko said she probably won’t try to move up or down.
“I’m ready to fight anyone, and the flyweight division has so many strong fighters,” she said.
The raucous Vegas crowd cheered the loudest for Diaz (26-10), a wildly popular 38-year-old fighter who walked away from the sport in early 2015.
In his return, Diaz traded a high volume of strikes with Lawler (29-15) for two exciting rounds during his return at T-Mobile Arena. But Diaz then crumpled awkwardly to his knees after Lawler caught him with a check right hook early in the third.
Diaz rolled onto his back when Lawler hit him again with a left hand, but Lawler declined to go to the ground with Diaz, instead gesturing at him to get up. The referee then spoke to Diaz, who indicated he wouldn’t or couldn’t go on 44 seconds into the third round.

Diaz still impressed White.
“For a guy who hasn’t fought in that long and hasn’t really been training, he looked way better than I expected,” White said. “He’s tough, durable and just a natural fighter.”
Afterward, Diaz disclosed he might have injured his knee, but made no excuses or apologies for his performance in his return.
“I’m glad at least I put on a show,” Diaz said. “I knew I had it coming. There was a lot of stress coming into this one. ... I don’t have any excuses. It was a long time off.”
The 39-year-old Lawler ended his own four-fight losing streak by winning the rematch of these MMA pioneers’ famed 2004 meeting at UFC 47. Diaz stopped Lawler in that bout for one of his most memorable victories.
Lawler appeared to be much sharper in the rematch than Diaz, who finally found a striking rhythm late in the first round before tiring in the second.
“It was a fun fight, and that’s the stuff I like to do,” Lawler said.

LAKELAND, Fla. (AP) — Prosecutors will seek the death penalty for a 33-year-old former Marine accused of massacring a Florida family under the delusion that they were child sex traffickers.
In a news release sent Friday, the state attorney’s office said the killings of a Lakeland man, his girlfriend, their baby and the child’s grandmother were “committed on a cold, calculated and premeditated manner without any pretense of moral or legal justification.”
Bryan Riley is accused fatally shooting Justice Gleason, 40; his 33-year-old girlfriend, Theresa Lanham; their baby boy, Jody, who was born in May; and Catherine Delgado, 62, who was Lanham’s mother in their homes on Sept. 5. Gleason’s 11-year-old daughter survived despite several gunshot wounds, officials said.
A grand jury’s 22-count indictment was filed Tuesday in Polk County Circuit Court against Riley. Other charges included attempted murder of the 11-year-old girl, along with kidnapping, arson, burglary and animal cruelty for killing the family dog.
Riley is being held without bail and has not yet entered a plea to the charges.
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd previously said Riley falsely believed the family was involved in child sex trafficking and that he had been told by God to rescue a purported child victim named “Amber.” There was no child by that name at the home.
Riley chanced upon the family after seeing a man mowing his lawn with a young girl in the yard he thought might be the trafficking victim, Judd said.
Officials say Riley, wearing body armor, had three weapons with him and fired at least 100 shots in the main home and a smaller one in back where Catherine Delgado, 62, was the first to be killed.
Law enforcement officers fired about 60 shots in a gun battle that left Riley with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Riley surrendered after that.
Riley served as a Marine in Iraq and Afghanistan and was working as a security guard in the Lakeland area, including at a church. After that recent job, his girlfriend of four years told investigators Riley began talking about communication with God but not about violence.

Jeffrey Jordan, Michael Jordan's 32-year-old son, is accused of assaulting staff at a hospital in Arizona Friday night, where he was being treated for an injury he sustained in a bar, TMZ Sports has learned.
Here's the deal ... Jeffrey was at Casa Amigos bar in Scottsdale when he "fell and hit his head," according to police. They say Jordan then became combative with security who were attempting to escort him out of the bar to receive medical attention.
Scottsdale PD, who were in the area for an unrelated call, were summoned to assist. Cops interviewed bar staff, and eventually deemed the incident "medical in nature," not criminal. An ambulance was called to transport JJ to a hospital.
After arriving at a local hospital, that's when things allegedly took a turn.
Jeffrey is accused of assaulting hospital staff while being treated for the injury he sustained at the bar. A report for aggravated assault, a felony, was taken at the hospital.
As for Jeffrey's side, our sources tell us he was confused and disoriented following the fall.
Jordan was NOT arrested or charged with a crime. As of this morning, he still remains in the hospital.
Police tell us the relevant reports will be sent to the Maricopa County Prosecutors Office ... where they will review the case and determine if charges are warranted.
6'1" Jeffrey, MJ's oldest son, played college basketball at the University of Illinois, before transferring to the University of Central Florida in 2010. He played 107 college basketball games over his career, averaging about 2 points a game.
Jeffrey now works at Nike's Jordan Brand.
