The wait won't be much longer for a new Slaughterhouse album according group member Roycs Da 5'9.

"We are about 70% of the way done," Royce told AllHipHop.com. "We’ve got a lot of great records. I think another 2 or 3 trips together….We’ve definitely got a record that I think we can go out with first. We are definitely close."

Anticipation for the album has been high since Royce, Joe Budden, Crooked I, and Joell Ortiz signed with Eminem's Shady Records earlier this year.

With releases from Yelawolf, and the not yet titled disc from Slaughterhouse on the way things are popping over at the house that Shady built.

Yela's 'Radioactive' cd drops October 25. No release date has been given for the Slaughterhouse project but it is due very soon.

Soulja Boy Apologizes For Anti-Troop Lyrics

402873737?profile=original

Soulja Boy has apologized for anti-troop lyrics in the song "Let's Get Real."

The rapper reached out to GlobalGrind today to issue an apology after coming under fire from war veterans for the lyrics "f*ck the army troops."

As an artist, I let my words get the best of me. Sometimes there are things that we feel, things that we want to express, and when we put them on paper and speak them out loud, they can come out wrong. When I expressed my frustration with the US Army, not only did my words come out wrong, I was wrong to even speak them. So, I write this to give my sincerest apology to all members of the United States military services, as well as their families that were offended by my most recent lyrics.

As a young man who grew up in the post-9/11 era, I have watched our country fight two wars that seem like they are never going to end. I have seen thousands and thousands of our brave men and women get killed in battle and often times, I think for what? A lot of people in this country are struggling to make ends meet and I think a lot about what if we had never gone to war. Where would our economy be? Our schools, our after-school and work programs, our streets? I mean, damn, 48 people got shot in New York City just this past weekend ... in 3 days ... I'm not saying that it is just because of a bad economy, but at a certain point we have to take care of our own people.

In no way would I ever want to offend those who are protecting our freedoms ... a lot of homeboys who I grew up with, a lot of people who come from the neighborhoods we live in ... In no way do I want to hurt any of our honorable soldiers who put their lives at risk, regardless of how they feel about the two wars we fight in. I am just frustrated that we haven't been able to bring you all home quick enough and my frustration got the best of me. I am deeply sorry.

~Soulja Boy

The-Dream To Give Away 2nd Free Album Online

12348984887?profile=original

Less than a week after dropping a free album via the web for his fans, The-Dream already has his eyes set on releasing a second one.

"I Have another free Album that's untitled I may drop it free in October. Or After Love IV," he wrote on twitter.

The singer had previously said that his label home Def Jam, isn't exactly thrilled about him giving away free material.

"The business of a label is to make money -- my business is to make music," he told Billboard last month. "I'm gonna get paid if I do it right. So I'm fine with [releasing a free album]. It's more like advertisement for me."

Video After The Jump

Want to get a million youtube views in a day? Post a video of you touching 1000 random women's breasts and not getting arrested for it.

Apparently this was some kind of stunt by Russian parody video makers My Duck's Vision. The mission seemed to be documenting all 1000 of the breast touches, then shaking the hand of Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin afterwards.

How that makes any sense, I have no idea, but the video is pretty funny. And the guy only got bitten once, lol.

The firestorm surrounding Soulja Boy's song "Let's Be Real" continues.

The 21-year old rapper angered many military veterans with the line "f*ck the army troops." One veteran initially called for an apology from Soulja. Now an online petition has been started to ban the artist's music and memorabilia from military bases.

"I am writing in reference to the rap artist Soulja Boy and his recent single "Let's Be Real." He has caused a great uproar in the military community with his lyrics from this song, which are listed above. Many Americans, civilians and military personnel, have requested that you please discontinue any and all of Soulja Boy's memorabilia," the petition reads. "In doing so, you would not only earn the respect of the American audience but you would also create a peace among all Americans today. Military personnel have become greatly offended with the previously mentioned song and removing said artist would ease a lot of the tension and violence that has been created. Please take careful consideration in the request of the American people as it can effect the future of the American people and generations to come. I send my greatest appreciation for your time in reading this letter and hope that our request could be fulfilled. Thank You and God Bless"

Former infantry sergeant Leo Dunson, told TMZ that Soulja's song is "the most ignorant thing I've heard in so long." Dunson released a diss track aimed at Soulja under the name Sgt. Dunson called "Change Your Name."

Should Soulja apologize for his lyrics?

Video After The Jump

Soulja Boy's lyrics in a new video have angered a military veteran who is demanding the rapper apologize to "all armed forces."

"F*ck the FBI and the army troops/ fighting for what? Be your own man/I'll be flying through the clouds with green like I'm Peter Pan," Soulja raps on a new song titled "Let's Be Real."

Fred A. Flores, commissioner for the L.A. County Veteran’s Advisory Commission told TMZ the young rapper is "ungrateful."

"It's a very offensive statement. Especially with the 10th anniversary of 9/11 coming up," Flores, a retired Marine told TMZ. "He should apologize to ALL armed forces. [The rap] is very irresponsible... especially for a person who is an entertainer for the youth of our country."

Video And Pics After The Jump

It was a day for good old fashioned hip hop and one semi-reunion at the Rock The Bells tour stop in New York City over the weekend.

On Saturday [September 3] a huge gathering of rap acts invaded Governors Island. Slaughterhouse, Black Moon, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, GZA, Cypress Hill, Black star, Mobb Deep, Nas, and Immortal Technique all performed.

There was also a semi Fugees reunion when Lauryn Hill brought out Pras to perform "Ready or Not." Unfortunately Wyclef was nowhere to be found.

Mobb Deep performed their entire classic album "The Infamous."

"It's a big tour," Prodigy said. "The turnout has been incredible for all the Rock The Bells venues. It's all been going real good. Especially performing 'The Infamous' album. It's the first time we ever did a lot of these songs. So it feels real good to see how the crowd is repeating the words to the songs,"

The tour has one remaining date in Boston on September 10.

Now that a good majority of you have heard Lil Wayne's 'Tha Carter IV' and 'Watch The Throne' from Jay-Z and Kanye West, it's time we take a look at which one is the better album in your opinion.

The fact that Wayne and Hov are semi-beefing shouldn't factor into your decision. Nor should the fact that 'Tha Carter IV' is a solo disc while 'Watch The Throne' is a collaborative effort.

Instead, we want to know which album you think is better overall. Things like playback ability (how likely are you to play it repeatedly), beat selection, song content, and wordplay should decide your vote.

Cast your vote below and weigh in with your opinions.

Video After The Jump

It's rare to see a good one on one scrap. Usually we get mob fight footage these days, but a couple of weeks ago a security guard and suspect got into a fair one and it was caught on tape.

Morgan Andrew said the off duty guard accused him of harassing a woman, then challenged him to a fight.

The two go toe to toe for about 30 seconds. It was clear Andrew got mopped up, but he thought he won.

"Dude ran up on me... dude said let's fight. I said ' I aint have nothing to do with it' and I whooped his monkey ass," said Andrew while being handcuffed.

After talking with Andrew, police eventually let him go.

Guess it's kind of hard to charge someone with getting their asses beat.

Pics After The Jump

The construction work being done on his NYC 40/40 club has turned into a huge headache for Jay-Z.

The New York City District Council of Carpenters accuse the hip hop star of using a company, Conelle Construction, that has substandard wage and health care benefits for workers.

Several giant, inflatable Union rats have been set up outside the club by the DCOC in protest.

A spokesperson for the DCOC explained to Curbed what the disagreement is about in a statement.

A rat is a contractor that does not pay all of its employees the Area Standard Wages, including either providing or making payments for family health care and pension benefits. Shame on the 40/40 CLUB & Shawn Carter aka Jay Z for contributing to the erosion of area standards for New York City Carpenters. The New York City District Council of Carpenters has a labor dispute with A&V Drywall which is performing work at 6 West 25th Street in NYC. 40/40 CLUB & Shawn Carter aka Jay Z is responsible for hiring CONELLE CONSTRUCTION CORP. Conelle Construction does not meet area labor standards, including providing or fully paying for family healthcare and pension for all of its carpenter craft employees.

No word from Jay's camp on the situation yet.
