DJ Premier made headlines last month when he said he prevented Justin Bieber from entering the 2011 BET Hip Hop cypher because he wanted Ludacris to write his rhyme for him.
Despite that, the legendary producer said he would be open to working with the teen pop star, but only if he can actually see Bieber writing the lyrics himself.
"I'd love to wok with him, just as long as he writes it," Premier told MTV. "He gotta sit there in front of me and write it. I'd love to work with him and it would be dope."
Premier went on to explain that it's important to protect the integrity of the cyphers by only allowing real lyricists to enter. He never had anything against Bieber personally.
"About the cyphers I said 'Yo I'm down for him to spit it, but if somebody writes your rhyme you can't do it.' And that was my only comment," he explained. "I was all for him being in the cypher. Just make sure you write your own verse because the cypher is the most purest, original form of our culture. That's coming with a dope verse, lay it down and walk away."
