Megan Thee Stallion says a simple request to renegotiate her contract turned into a stalemate that's keeping a lid on any new tunes.
The rapper took to IG Live Sunday to call her out her record label, 1501, claiming they're not allowing to drop any new music for the time being -- all because, as she claims, MTS asked them to tweak some fine print in the deal she's signed with them at a young age.
Megan says she signed with 1501 when she was about 20 years old, and there were a lot things in her contract with them she simply wasn't aware of -- that is, until she started getting managed by Jay-Z's Roc Nation, which pointed a lot of stuff out to her.
Long story short, Meg says everything was all good and dandy until one day she approached the label and asked to renegotiate ... at which point, she says things went "left."
Megan claims as a result of her asking ... the label has put her and any new tunes on ice. She likens the move to nothing more than greed in its purest form -- and it's clear, there's beef.
The bad news is for fans, of course -- 'cause if what she's saying is true, it can mean a whole year without some 'Hot Girl' seasons to bless us. Shame ...

Harlem, New York rapper Smoke Dza is back with a new project titled "A Closed Mouth Don't Get Fed." Features include Westside Gunn, Dave East, Nym Lo, T-Pain, Flipp Dinero, Tish Hyman, Phil Ade, Wale and more.
"A Closed Mouth Don't Get Fed" is available now on all streaming platforms:
Flav then presented a cease and desist letter (obtained by Spin), accusing the Sanders campaign of using the Public Enemy name and “likeness, image and trademarked clock in promotional materials” without his permission.
Chuck D has now responded to the claims, giving his bandmate an ultimatum. “Flavor chooses to dance for his money and not do benevolent work like this,” Chuck said in a statement to HipHopDX. “He has a year to get his act together and get himself straight or he’s out.”
Chuck’s lawyer added: “From a legal standpoint, Chuck could perform as Public Enemy if he ever wanted to; he is the sole owner of the Public Enemy trademark. He originally drew the logo himself in the mid-80’s, is also the creative visionary and the group’s primary songwriter, having written Flavor’s most memorable lines.”
In Flavor Flav’s cease and desist letter, he added that the Sanders campaign created “a false narrative” in stating that Public Enemy would be supporting the senator.
“Sanders has promised to ‘Fight the Power’ with hip hop icons Public Enemy – but this Rap Icon will not be performing at the Sanders Rally,” the letter reads. “To be clear Flav and, by extension, the Hall of Fame hip hop act Public Enemy with which his likeness and name have become synonymous has not endorsed any political candidate in this election cycle and any suggestion to the contrary is plainly untrue. The continued publicizing of this grossly misleading narrative is, at a minimum, careless and irresponsible if not intentionally misleading.”
Only six days after he was stopped by Tyson Fury in seven shockingly one-sided rounds in their WBC/lineal heavyweight title fight, Deontay Wilder has exercised his rematch clause.
He’ll face Fury for a third time later this year, Top Rank president Todd duBoef confirmed to Yahoo Sports. The news of the agreement, which was delivered by Wilder’s team to Top Rank on Friday, was first reported by BT Sport.
Wilder had first told Yahoo Sports on Monday, when he said the weight of his ring walk costume deadened his legs, that he planned to exercise the clause, but his attorney made it official on Friday.
There has been no date set for the bout, though duBoef said it will be held in the summer.
Fury and Wilder first fought on Dec. 1, 2018, in a bout which was scored a split draw. It was a competitive, dramatic fight which Wilder nearly won by knockout in the 12th. He crushed Fury with a right, but Fury managed to get up to continue.
Wilder went off as a -135 favorite in the rematch, but he was never in the fight. Fury knocked him down in the third and again in the fifth and won every round until Wilder trainer Mark Breland threw in the towel in the seventh.
Wilder said he wasn’t sure he’d keep Breland as part of his team because he was upset by the stoppage, but on Friday, he released a statement in which he said he would continue to work with Breland.
The loss was the first of Wilder’s career. He is 42-1-1 with 41 knockouts. Fury is now 30-0-1 with 21 knockouts.
The last decade or so, great R-N-B has become harder and harder to find. It's not that it isn't out there....but it's few. And alot of it has lost, well,...its soul. Gone are the days of The Delfonics, The Stylistics and The Chi-Lites. I haven't heard anything reminiscent to Jodeci, Dru Hill, Carl Thomas or Usher in like a decade. No more hard hip hop tracks with a smooth RnB performer on the chorus. Now they sing their own and auto tune it. While change can be good and should be expected, sometimes things that aren't broke don't need fixing.
Enter Nino Cortez, a rapper/singer/producer/ghostwriter/producer from Birmingham, Alabama, and he is bringing a strong vibe of rhythm, blues and soul back into a very dry industry. Mixing a blend of new sound and old school twist creates amazing music and very marketable material for this young entrepreneur. His presence, in both performance and production, glows with an aura that great songwriters in the past carried.
Nino's single "No One Else" recently came to our attention. Quickly gaining a buzz in the indie circuits, No One Else has a quality that I just don't see in music as much anymore....professionalism. A stunning presentation of cinematic art and a great fit for the visual aspect of the single. Check it out today and see a star on his rise!
North Carolina has been recently producing some of the greatest artists hiphop has scene in a while from the likes of J. Cole, DaBaby, Bali Baby, Stunna 4 Vegas & a lot more to name. But the underground scene in North Carolina is just as strong. Winston-Salem, NC artist Jody Lo proves it with a new album release; "DOPE!". Dope was a 15 track independent album laced with catchy beats, strong vibes and some extremely lyrical bars from Jody Lo with various underground artists making appearances. Track 2 begins with a mediocre hook but once the verse begins, Jody Lo quickly begins laying bars to make up for the typical hook and beat selection. Track 3; All about the Benjamin's is a stand out track by far on this album. Detroit native ChadRoto lays down a strong but simple hook while Jody Lo shoots bars on the verses over a trappy type beat creating a perfect chemistry. On Toxic Relationship the theme as self explanatory and something a lot of us can relate to as the first verse details traits of a toxic woman, the 2nd verse gives traits of a toxic man while the hook explains how they deal with one another, the song was awesome. Other notable tracks are; Break the bed, off the muscle, running man & Snakes. After a whole week on the streets, "DOPE!" by Jody Lo seems to be a successful project. Gathering thousands of streams as well as hundreds of Albums sold in the first week, the album continues to spread and will probably be played for a long time.

CLAYTON, Mo. -- A St. Louis police officer accused of accidentally killing a female colleague while playing a variation of Russian roulette pleaded guilty Friday and was sentenced to seven years in prison.
Nathaniel Hendren, 30, had been scheduled to go to trial March 23 on charges of first-degree involuntary manslaughter and armed criminal action. The seven-year sentence was the maximum for involuntary manslaughter.
He was accused of fatally shooting 24-year-old Katlyn Alix, also a St. Louis police officer, at his home in January 2019 while he was supposed to be on duty elsewhere. Hendren’s male partner, also on duty, was at the home, too. Alix, a married military veteran, was off-duty at the time.
“The reckless behavior that took place that early morning has left an unfillable void for her grieving husband, her parents, and a host of loving family and friends,” Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner said in a statement.
Hendren’s lawyer, Talmage Newton IV, has called Alix’s death a “tragic accident,” but a lawsuit filed by Alix’s family claimed Hendren forced other girlfriends to play similar games.
A probable cause statement from police, provided by Gardner's office, offered a chilling account of the game that led to Alix’s death.
"The defendant emptied the cylinder of the revolver and then put one cartridge back into the cylinder," the statement said. Hendren allegedly spun the cylinder, pointed the gun away and pulled the trigger.
The gun did not fire. The statement said Alix took the gun, pointed it at Hendren and pulled the trigger. Again, it didn't fire.
Hendren "took the gun back and pointed it at the victim (and) pulled the trigger causing the gun to discharge," the statement said. "The victim was struck in the chest."
The other male officer told investigators he warned Hendren and Alix not to play with guns and reminded them they were police officers. He was about to leave when he heard the fatal shot, the statement said.
The male officers drove Alix to a hospital where she died.
Alix was a patrol officer who graduated from the St. Louis Police Academy in January 2017.
The shooting was among several embarrassing recent incidents involving St. Louis police.
In November 2018, several officers were accused of attacking a black undercover colleague, Luther Hall, when he was mistaken for a protester during a 2017 demonstration. Hall claimed he was beaten “like Rodney King,” and his injuries required several surgeries. Two officers pleaded guilty and two others go to trial in September.
Also in 2018, Gardner placed several dozen city officers on an “exclusion list,” citing what she called credibility concerns, though declining to elaborate. Officers on the list are not permitted as primary witnesses in criminal cases.
Last year, the Philadelphia-based Plain View Project released a study that found thousands of racist and anti-Muslim social media comments from police in St. Louis and seven other jurisdictions. Forty-three of the 3,500 accounts viewed by the group were tied to current or former officers in St. Louis.
Some of the posts supported roughing up protesters or mocked foreign accents. Others displayed the Confederate flag and questioned whether Black History Month was racist.
Hendren left the police department soon after the shooting and his state peace officer license was suspended.

Pop Smoke's murder is still a mystery, and police are making little progress in finding suspects due to a variety of issues ... but they're still pressing on.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... detectives have hit a road block in the rapper's murder investigation, specifically with regard to witness testimony. We've heard it before .. a lot of people are simply refusing to talk. But also ... a lot of the info they're getting is sketchy.
Our sources say among the potential witnesses cops have spoken with, stories have either changed or are provably untrue. Also, because nobody was outside or nearby Pop's house when the crime occurred ... they have no neutral witnesses.
To make matters worse ... we're told investigators have wasted time looking into videos posted online allegedly connected to the murder, but they've all ended up unrelated to the case.
Likewise, with the case being bi-coastal -- Smoke was killed in L.A. but lived in NYC -- cops have had to spend extra time and effort tracking down people.
Finally, even though the murder appears to be a targeted hit and not a robbery ... our law enforcement sources say they're still having trouble coming up with a motive.
Cops are working all leads and resources possible in the meantime, but it seems they're in desperate need of a break in the case.

Some L.A. County Sheriff's Deputies shared photos of the scene where Kobe Bryant, his daughter, Gigi, and 7 others lost their lives ... and the photos included remains from the gruesome aftermath ... TMZ has confirmed.
We're told the gruesome photos were also passed around by members of the L.A. County Fire Dept. and we're told that Dept. is now investigating.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ, multiple L.A. County Sheriff's deputies who responded to the crash scene took photos that included remains. We're told one of the deputies -- a trainee -- took photos and at some point went to a bar and, as one source put it, "He tried to impress a girl by showing her the photos." We're told the bartender overheard the conversation and filed an online complaint with the Sheriff's Dept.
We're also told the cell phone photos were passed around at the Lost Hills Sheriff's substation -- the first responders to the crash. Sources say deputies from other substations around L.A. County also took cell phone photos.

Houston Rockets guard James Harden defended his style of play during an interview with ESPN's Rachel Nichols on Friday.
At the 5:52 mark of the following video, Harden noted that he has to constantly work on his skill set since he doesn't have the same size and athleticism as some other players:
"I wish I could be 7-feet, run and just dunk. That takes no skill at all," Harden said. "I gotta actually learn how to play basketball and how to have skill. I'll take that any day."
While Harden didn't mention a player by name, his comment came after Nichols mentioned Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo's joke about taking Boston Celtics guard Kemba Walker over Harden in the All-Star Game draft since he wanted someone who would pass the ball.
While Giannis seemed to be kidding, Harden didn't find it funny considering he ranks ninth in the NBA in assists per game with 7.3, while Walker is tied for 36th with 5.0 per game.
Harden has been criticized at times for dominating the ball on the offensive end and not necessarily excelling defensively, but there is no denying the production he has provided the Rockets since they acquired him from the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2012.
The 30-year-old Harden has been named an All-Star in each of his eight seasons with the Rockets, and he is on pace to lead the NBA in scoring for the third consecutive year. So far this season, Harden is averaging 35.2 points, 7.3 assists and 6.4 rebounds per contest.
Harden also figures to be in the MVP conversation after winning the award during the 2017-18 campaign.
Last season, Giannis beat out Harden for MVP honors, as he averaged 27.7 points, 12.5 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game and led the Bucks to the NBA's best record.
The Bucks are the NBA's best team again this season, and Giannis has been even better individually with 29.7 points, 13.7 rebounds and 5.8 assists per contest.
At 6'11", Giannis does much of his damage inside the arc and in the paint, but he has improved as a shooter and is averaging a career-high 1.5 three-pointers per game, while shooting 31.4 percent from beyond the arc, which is up from 25.6 percent last season.
The MVP race this season could come down to Giannis and Harden again, with Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James and Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic sprinkled in as well.
Few star players are more different than Giannis and Harden, but they are both highly effective and there is no end in sight to their dominance over the league.
