SEATTLE (AP) — Prosecutors in Washington state have charged former Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers star Richard Sherman after police said he drunkenly crashed his SUV in a construction zone & tried to break into his in-laws’ home.

Sherman, who was released from jail Thursday, was expected to appear in court Friday for arraignment on five criminal charges: driving under the influence of alcohol, reckless endangerment of road workers, criminal trespassing, resisting arrest & malicious mischief. They are all misdemeanors, punishable by up to 90 days in jail, or gross misdemeanors, punishable by up to one year.

Sherman was belligerent, had been drinking heavily & spoke of killing himself when he left his home in the Seattle suburb of Maple Valley late Tuesday. His wife, Ashley Sherman, called 911 to try to have police stop him.

He was arrested early Wednesday after police said he crashed his car in a construction zone along a busy highway east of Seattle & then tried to break into his in-laws’ home in the suburb of Redmond. Workers said the driver entered the closed construction zone at 60 to 70 mph & sped off after being confronted, shooting sparks from a wheel, then abandoned the disabled vehicle nearby.

Sherman’s father-in-law, Raymond Moss, told officers that he armed himself with a handgun & fired pepper-spray at the NFL cornerback to protect his family as Sherman tried to bust in the door of Moss’ home with his shoulder.

Another of Moss’ daughters pleaded with a 911 operator for officers to arrive quickly & told her children to hide in a bathroom behind a shower curtain.

Cops could not use a Taser because they worried about igniting whatever chemical Sherman’s father-in-law had sprayed him with & could not fire a bean-bag round because they were too close to him. Instead, they released a police dog, which bit his ankle & caused a minor cut, as other officers wrestled with him on the ground.

A video of a Kentucky school girl’s terrifying ordeal from 2015, in which she was dragged along by a school bus, has been released as a trial begins into the incident.

The girl, who was aged six at the time, was getting off the Jefferson County school bus six years ago when her backpack appeared to get stuck in its doors.

The doors closed and trapped the child. School bus driver Melinda Sanders is accused by the girl’s family of failing to notice the child getting off the bus.

The girl’s family alleged in court on Tuesday that the bus was driven 1,1,47 feet before coming to a stop. Both Ms Sanders and Jefferson County school district are named in the lawsuit.

Video footage, which was expected to feature in the trial, showed the six-year-old getting dragged along by the school bus while hanging from its doors by her backpack.

Ms Sanders failed to realize what was unfolding to her left, before hearing a passing vehicle beep her, the video shows. She can be heard saying; “Oh my God, Oh my God”.

The school district fired the driver after an investigation determined she did not watch the child get off the bus and ensure that all children were seated before driving, as required by her training.

Ms Sanders was found to have broken a total of 16 rules during the incident.

The child, who was identified as AR in court, suffered severe nerve damage and PTSD, and has since had multiple surgeries, the lawsuit reportedly said.

The family of the six-year-old is asking for damages, and the trial is ongoing.

Adult film star Dahlia Sky was found dead in a vehicle in Los Angeles two weeks ago, and authorities have since ruled her death a suicide.

Sky, 31, died June 30 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to her head, the Los Angeles County Medical-Examiner said.

A GoFundMe page set up by her family said she was living in her car in the Northridge section of the San Fernando Valley at the time.

She recently posted on Twitter that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Industry publication Adult Video News was first to report Sky’s death, calling her a veteran performer with hundreds of credits and a nomination as female performer of the year.

Fellow performer and director Axel Braun called Sky’s death “extremely heartbreaking.”

“She was a really sweet girl. I shot her dozens of times and not only did she always bring her A game as a performer, but she was also a very talented actress and a real trooper,” he told AVN.

“She was super funny and she had a big heart, but unfortunately her battle with breast cancer took a toll on her mental health and she struggled with depression, as most people would,” he said. “My heart goes out to her family and loved ones, we lost a beautiful soul.”

Lil Durk got a rude awakening, when some people busted into his home and exchanged gunfire with him and his girlfriend ... this according to law enforcement.

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation ... the rapper and his baby mama, India Cox, were the victims of a home invasion and aggravated assault this past Sunday a little after 5 AM.

Law enforcement tells us several unidentified individuals entered Durk's home in the Chateau Elan neighborhood of Braselton -- about an hour outside Atlanta -- and a shootout ensued.

The GBI says Durk and India discharged their firearms, but they were not injured during the incident.

It's unclear exactly how many people allegedly entered the home, but cops are asking for tips from the public in the case as part of the investigation.

A 911 caller says Richard Sherman drank two bottles of hard alcohol and was threatening to kill himself before he was arrested on Wednesday.

In the call, which was 4 minutes in length, a woman who ID'ed herself as Sherman's wife told dispatch the NFL star was "drunk and belligerent and threatening to kill himself."

The woman was frantic -- breathing heavily and speaking quickly -- and was pleading for dispatch to send officers to her home in Washington right away.

"I need officers here now!" the woman can be heard saying on the call. "He's trying to leave now. In the house, he was being aggressive. He was wrestling with my uncle. He's threatening to kill himself. He has sent text messages to people saying he's going to hang himself."

"And, he's saying that if the police show up -- please don't shoot is what I'm asking."

The woman continued, "He said if the police show up, he'll try to fight them."

The woman then can be heard saying she was worried that Sherman was going to leave the home ... telling dispatch, "It's Richard Sherman! Like, ma'am, this is, like, a f***ing emergency! I need officers here now!"

It should be noted the 911 dispatcher appeared annoyed and frustrated multiple times with the woman on the call ... telling her at one point, "Listen to me! I'm handling this! You need to stop telling me that!"

The caller eventually told the 911 dispatcher that Sherman had drank 1 bottle of vodka and 1 bottle of Hennessey ... and was concerned for everyone's safety.

As we previously reported, Sherman was arrested a short time following the call ... after cops say he tried to break into his in-laws' home in Redmond, Wash.

Sherman, who was booked on a domestic violence burglary charge, is still behind bars ... being held without bail.

At the very least, it appears that Steelers quarterback Dwayne Haskins has been unable to scramble out of another prickly situation this offseason.

Haskins, the much-maligned 2019 first-round pick whose off-field issues contributed to his ouster in Washington, was involved in a domestic dispute last weekend, according to multiple news stations in Las Vegas. But both KLAS and KTNV are reporting that it’s his wife, Kalabrya Gondrezick-Haskins, who was arrested and charged with domestic battery after punching Haskins and knocking out a tooth inside the Cosmopolitan hotel July 3.

Perhaps the strangest part of the story is that just three days ago, the single-season Ohio State touchdown pass leader posted on Instagram a clip of himself dropping to one knee and presenting Gondrezick-Haskins with a ring. But the arrest report obtained by both media outlets indicates that the two were married in March, which would’ve been about two months after Haskins signed a low-level one-year contract to rekindle his NFL career with the Steelers.

Gondrezick-Haskins was charged with battery and domestic violence resulting in bodily harm, a felony, while Haskins was treated for “substantial” facial injuries at a nearby hospital, police indicated. In his July 11 post that seemed to be an engagement announcement, Haskins wrote, “Couldn't make you wait forever, for forever … This is forever.”
