Video After The Jump Saigon has been in the industry grinding for a minute now. A lot of mc's have come and gone, but Sai's still here doing his thing. He recently sat down with Hard Knock TV to talk about what the game is missing, young artists that he's feeling and the Joe Budden beef. The Yardfather says that there hasn't been an artist since 50 Cent that has made music speaking directly to the community. "There's a big void that's empty in hip hop. The last artist that was in that void, talking to the community was 50 Cent really. What he had to say wasn't the most positive stuff, but he reacted. 50 had every black neighborhood going crazy in 2003-2004. He's the last person, besides DMX to string a chord in people's hearts. For whatever reason, these heathens got into an argument that turned into a chickenhead free for all. Chairs, plates, food and anything else that wasn't bolted down went flying through the air as this Denny's restaurant gets torn to pieces. I didn't see any employees, but I don't blame them for not getting involved in this lunacy.

Now the 17-year old X-Factor contestant has caught the eye of Roc Nation CEO Jay-Z, who wants to make her a star according to OK! Cher has performed two of Hov's biggest hits on the show. Singing and rapping her way through "Hard Knock Life" and "Empire State Of Mind." Hov took notice, and came away very impressed. “I was very impressed with her version of ‘Hard Knock Life’ – it should be a track on her debut album and I would happily add my lyrics to it. I could get myself, Kanye West, Beyonce and Rihanna all working on her debut album and that would make it an automatic hit," Hov said. There could be one major hurdle for Jay to overcome if he plans on signing Cher. That would be X-Factor judge/producer Simon Cowell. Fellow X-Factor judge Louis Walsh says Cowell already has plans for Cher. “Simon believes that Cher will be the biggest success story of this year and he’s trying to butter her up. I’m sure he’s got something in the pipeline already, like a record deal. The plan will be to release a single next summer with a massive promotional campaign behind her," Louis said. "Simon’s already totally crazy about Cher and he’s already active in her future career. He feels she’ll sell millions and make some serious money. She’s had all the attention in the competition so far." Looks like the Cher Lloyd sweepstakes is about to begin.

Video After The Jump Most fights between old friends usually involve some cursing, maybe a few punches thrown. But in Kentucky, they're off that old school stuff. You got beef in Kentucky, you best be ready to eat your own beard if you lose a dispute. In one of the weirdest stories of the week, a Kentucky man had his beard shaved off, stuffed it in his mouth and was forced to to swallow it, following a fight with two former friends during a dispute over a lawnmower. Harvey Westmoreland told Lexington tv station WLEX-18 he never would have expected this from his former friends Troy Holt and James Hill. "They were pretty good guys," Westmoreland said. This all stemmed from the attempted sale of a lawnmower. "Troy offered to buy it from me for $250 dollars, I paid $20 bucks for it. One thing led to another and before I know'd it, there was knives, guns, everything just went haywire."

While Westmoreland's brother was held at knifepoint, Holt and Hill took his most prized possesion and shoved it down his throat. "They cut my beard, and forced me to eat it," he said. Eventually Holt and Hill left and were later arrested after the police were called, but Westmoreland is still mourning the loss of his beard. "It's not as long as it was."

Videos After The Jump Roc Nation just added another talented mc to it's roster. Jay-Z announced the signing of Jay Electronica at New York's The Box yesterday November 12. Hov has a long history of collaborating with artists from the south, most notably Scarface and UGK, so this signing should come as no surprise. For the New Orleans born Electronica, this is a well deserved shining moment. He's been grinding on the underground for a while. But it wasn't until his Just Blaze produced banger "Exhibit C" dropped in 2009, did he start to get national exposure. Congrats to both Jay's on the signing.

British producer Alex Da Kid, the man behind the boards on "Love The Way You Lie" says he and Slim are ready to do it again. "We should have something coming out pretty soon. I can't tell you what it is, but when it comes out it will probably be the biggest song in the last 10 years, it's pretty exciting," Alex said. He added that it will be coming out before Christmas. Could this be a 'Detox' joint?

The recent controversy surrounding George Bush, Matt Lauer and Kanye West has stirred up long simmering bad feelings about the former President. Bush said that Kanye's comments about him "not liking black people" was one of the "lowest moments of his presidency." Kanye tried to clarify his statements on The Today show this week, but that interview with Matt Lauer didn't go over well. West was so frustrated with how he felt he was treated by Lauer, he's pulled out of a post Thanksgiving Day performance on the Today Show. Fellow Chicago native and rapper Lupe Fiasco, came to Kanye's defense today via twitter. "Maaaaaaaaaan... f*ck bush! That n*gga was a tyrant and a menace! American Imperialist and terrorist! Supported financial chicanery and illegal wars...f*ck him! Till @kanyewest is responsible for the deaths of Hundreds Of Thousands of people he good in my book. The Tea Party Don't Like Black People!!"

It's not like Lupe's saying anything a lot of people aren't thinking already. The thing I find strange is what looks like NBC's attempt to soften people's perception of Bush through these recent interviews, with both Bush and Kanye. Maybe, I'm wrong, but there sure is a lot of attention being paid to a former President all of a sudden.
