Video After The Jump

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (Associated Press) — Adrian Peterson is coming back to the Minnesota Vikings two days after he was charged with child abuse for using a wooden switch to spank his 4-year-old son, and the star running back said Monday he is not a child abuser and wants "everyone to understand how sorry I feel about the hurt I have brought to my child."

12351082060?profile=original

Peterson, considered one of the best running backs in the NFL, was benched for Sunday's 30-7 home loss to the New England and he had not commented publicly since news broke on Friday that he had lashed the boy with the switch earlier this summer, causing an unspecified injuries.

"I am not a perfect son. I am not a perfect husband. I am not a perfect parent, but I am, without a doubt, not a child abuser," Peterson said in a nearly 500-word statement issued through his agency. "I am someone that disciplined his child and did not intend to cause him any injury.

"No one can understand the hurt that I feel for my son and for the harm I caused him. My goal is always to teach my son right from wrong and that's what I tried to do that day."

Vikings owners Zygi and Mark Wilf said they had decided to bring back Peterson for practices and Sunday's game at New Orleans "after significant thought, discussion and consideration." The Wilfs said they want to let the legal process play out before making any more definitive decisions on Peterson's future with the only NFL team he has ever played for.

"To be clear, we take very seriously any matter that involves the welfare of a child," the Wilfs said. "At this time, however, we believe this is a matter of due process and we should allow the legal system to proceed so we can come to the most effective conclusions and then determine the appropriate course of action. This is a difficult path to navigate, and our focus is on doing the right thing."

Peterson faces an initial court appearance in Conroe, Texas, on Wednesday on a charge of reckless or negligent injury to a child, which carries penalties of up to two years in prison and a $10,000 fine. His attorney, Rusty Hardin, said he will try to delay the arraignment until next week after Hardin returns from a vacation out of the country.

12351087664?profile=original

Corporal punishment is legal in Texas and non-deadly force against a child by a parent or guardian is permissible. But the punishment is abusive if it causes injury. A blow that leaves a bruise, welt or swelling, or requires medical attention, could be judged abusive. The guidelines also say use of an instrument "is cause for concern."

Hardin said Peterson used a switch because that was the way he was brought up by his parents in Palestine, Texas, and the NFL star agreed.

"I have to live with the fact that when I disciplined my son the way I was disciplined as a child, I caused an injury that I never intended or thought would happen," Peterson said. "I know that many people disagree with the way I disciplined my child. I also understand after meeting with a psychologist that there are other alternative ways of disciplining a child that may be more appropriate."

Chris Long, Adrian Peterson

The Vikings decided not to play Peterson against the Patriots, moving swiftly after a week in which the NFL came under heavy scrutiny for its handling of a domestic violence case involving former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice.

The Vikings clearly see Peterson's case as different from the 2011 case involving former cornerback Chris Cook, who was accused of choking his girlfriend. Cook was initially suspended by the team before being reinstated with pay. But the Vikings barred him from all team activities, including games, while the legal process unfolded.

Cook wound up missing 10 games and was eventually acquitted. He never faced discipline from the NFL and played two more seasons with the Vikings before signing with the 49ers.

The NFL is looking into Peterson's case, and if convicted he could face a minimum six-game suspension under the league's new tougher domestic abuse policy that was implemented after Commissioner Roger Goodell admitted he botched Rice's initial punishment.

The Vikings' decision to reinstate Peterson comes on the same day the NFL announced that three experts in domestic violence will serve as senior advisers to the league. Goodell sent a memo to teams Monday announcing that Lisa Friel, Jane Randel and Rita Smith will "help lead and shape the NFL's policies and programs relating to domestic violence and sexual assault."

"I accept the fact that people feel very strongly about this issue and what they think about my conduct," Peterson said. "Regardless of what others think, however, I love my son very much and I will continue to try to become a better father and person."

Full Statement From Adrian Peterson

My attorney has asked me not to discuss the facts of my pending case. I hope you can respect that request and help me honor it. I very much want the public to hear from me but I understand that it is not appropriate to talk about the facts in detail at this time. Nevertheless, I want everyone to understand how sorry I feel about the hurt I have brought to my child. I never wanted to be a distraction to the Vikings organization, the Minnesota community or to my teammates. I never imagined being in a position where the world is judging my parenting skills or calling me a child abuser because of the discipline I administered to my son.

I voluntarily appeared before the grand jury several weeks ago to answer any and all questions they had. Before my grand jury appearance, I was interviewed by two different police agencies without an attorney. In each of these interviews I have said the same thing, and that is that I never ever intended to harm my son. I will say the same thing once I have my day in court. I have to live with the fact that when I disciplined my son the way I was disciplined as a child, I caused an injury that I never intended or thought would happen. I know that many people disagree with the way I disciplined my child. I also understand after meeting with a psychologist that there are other alternative ways of disciplining a child that may be more appropriate.

I have learned a lot and have had to reevaluate how I discipline my son going forward. But deep in my heart I have always believed I could have been one of those kids that was lost in the streets without the discipline instilled in me by my parents and other relatives. I have always believed that the way my parents disciplined me has a great deal to do with the success I have enjoyed as a man. I love my son and I will continue to become a better parent and learn from any mistakes I ever make.

I am not a perfect son. I am not a perfect husband. I am not a perfect parent, but I am, without a doubt, not a child abuser. I am someone that disciplined his child and did not intend to cause him any injury. No one can understand the hurt that I feel for my son and for the harm I caused him. My goal is always to teach my son right from wrong and that's what I tried to do that day. I accept the fact that people feel very strongly about this issue and what they think about my conduct. Regardless of what others think, however, I love my son very much and I will continue to try to become a better father and person.

Video And Poll After The Jump

As far fetched as it may sound, a rap battle between Murder Mook and Drake could actually happen. Several weeks ago Mook posted a photo of the two on Instagram with a caption that read: "So this is @champagnepapi telling me he wants to battle me. And he is actually serious! Who got the check?"

Mook says Drizzy challenged him recently face to face.

"He pulled me like, ‘Yo, if I battled a nigga, I’d probably have one of the best battles.’ I’m like, ‘Word?’ I tried to laugh it off and shit. He kept insisting he would do that, Mook told "No Edits" "Then he said he wanted to battle another rapper dude, because he didn’t like him — I’m not gonna say his name. Then he was like, ‘I didn’t really want to give a nigga that look. But you, I fuck with you.’”

Mook added that there's a strong possibility the epic showdown will happen.

“We’re getting it together. He’s probably the top artist on the music, rap tip in the world right now. He’s got a lot of influence. So he’s got to be real careful in the shit he say. That’s the reason why it really ain’t been too much going back-and-forth."

12351102661?profile=original

Cassidy, who is preparing to battle Dizaster in December, weighed in on Drake vs. Mook during a recent interview with VladTV.

"I'd side with Mook 'cause that's what he do. I never seen Drake do it," Cass said.

PRESS RELEASE

HI MONEY PREPS NEW "Hola Dinero" MIXTAPE RELEASE
 Sept 15th, Chicago, IL
Hailing from East Side of Chicago, Hi Money is a lyricist that makes you feel like you’re back in school studying the Anthology. His love for music and the streets are more than evident as he paints both vivid imagery and captures precise emotions through his lyrics. The art of storytelling is a skill that many artists possess to paint a picture of what’s being conveyed. Shannon Smith (Hi MONEY) has mastered just that. His calm, yet powerful voice and raw lyrics place you where he grew up and through the trials he experienced during his journey of becoming a man. The death of his brother in 2005 pushed him further than he had ever imagined and inspired him to tell his story and perhaps touch
and relate to others by doing so.

Hi%2BMoney%2BPhoto1.jpg
Hi Money is no stranger to hard work and dedication and has projects that he is extremely proud of. His first mix-tape titled Straight From the Block became successful with the help of rapper Bet Stax and Hi Money knew that he couldn’t stop there. He went on to complete two volumes of his next mix-tape, Thinking Out Loud in which he paired up with rapper Gem Stone who is a great musical mentor to Hi Money. Stones, who is signed to rapper Lupe Fiasco, encourages Hi Money to do what he feels and write what he wants instead of what everybody else wants. From the Bottom Line was an album of Hi Money’s that featured many talented Chicago artists and that helped promote and circuit the album as well. The music Hi Money creates has a street sound but also give the smoothest appeal which gives balance and shows diversity with a dash of hip hop street bounce to it. “Some songs may be aggressive but others are very soulful,” added Hi Money. The usage of samples coupled with storytelling gives a
sound that catches the attention of listeners and pulls them in..
While continuing to write and record, Hi Money has also traveled to several states and colleges performing for large venues and hopes to be featured on an underground tour this upcoming Fall. He encourages anybody that wants to pursue a career in music to do so. “Your business mind is everything because talent can only get you in the door,” he said. He wants to be remembered for the great stories that he told through his music and spiritual connection. Nothing can stop him now for he has come way too far.
Coming Soon Hi Money will be releasing a FREE downloadable mixtape titled ‘Hola Dinero' (Hosted By Stack Or Starve) , which will display an arsenal of dope concepts, rhymes & rhythm.
As Hi Money puts it, he wants to ensure the project is solid:
“I want to ensure "Hola Dinero" is perfect, alot of people run with hi money as soon as they hear it. the tape will be extremely lyrical but will give a southern vibe to you due to the production. Equally we are trying to cater to every listener with flow..... base ........wordplay,nasty beats and sick hooks".

Jay Z & Beyonce - Bang Bang, Pt 1 (Short Film)

12351098690?profile=original

Video After The Jump

Beyonce and Jay Z's On The Run tour special is coming to HBO Saturday, Sept. 20, at 9 p.m. ET. Director Dikayl Rimmasch has put together a series of short films shot during the trek.

Check out Bang Bang, Pt. 1, premiered by Nowness.com

Two American outlaws speed through the Californian desert in a dusty 1960s Pontiac GTO with a manifest poise and stylish swagger that could only be embodied by the world’s foremost musical couple: Beyoncé and Jay Z. Directed by the New York-based filmmaker and photographer Dikayl Rimmasch and soundtracked by an Ennio Morricone classic,Bang Bang is a trilogy of short films starring Mr and Mrs Carter that appeared throughout their two-and-a-half month long tour, On the Run, which celebrated its finale on Saturday at Stade de France in Paris. Rimmasch was introduced to Beyoncé and Jay Z via Mark Romanek, and with a creative cohort in the war photojournalist William Kaner put together a filmmaking approach and aesthetic inspired by French new wave cinema and the powerful intimacy of legendary independent director and mentor, Les Blank. Rimmasch’s stripped-back process paid dividends, allowing an incredibly fast, shoot-from-the-hip style using custom camera rigs that he had designed, 50-year-old Russian lenses and lighting effects by Archie Ciotti and Scott Spencer. Below, we’re in conversation with the steadfast director—also known for his black-and-white campaigns for RRL by Ralph Lauren—about Bang Bang’s conception and what it’s like to direct contemporary music’s most iconic performers.

Greg Hardy and Nicole Holder

The Carolina Panthers have deactivated star defensive end Greg "Da Kraken" Hardy for today's game against the Detroit Lions.

The Panthers were receiving considerable criticism for allowing Hardy to continue playing following his July conviction for assaulting a female and communicating threats against former girlfriend Nicole Holder.

12351096261?profile=original

Holder says the 6'4", 290 lb player attacked her because of a brief relationship she had with Nelly while she and Hardy were broken up.

12351096299?profile=original

"Hardy picked me up and threw me into the tile tub area in his bathroom," Holder stated in a complaint, regarding the May 13, 2014 attack. "I have bruises from head to toe, including my head, neck, back, shoulders, arms, legs, elbow and feet. Hardy pulled me from the tub by my hair, screaming at me that he was going to kill me, break my arms and other threats that I completely believe. He drug me across the bathroom and out into the bedroom. Hardy choked me with both hands around my throat while I was lying on the floor. Hardy picked me up over his head and threw me onto a couch covered in assault rifles and/or shotguns. I landed on those weapons."

12351097065?profile=original

In a 911 call placed by Hardy he asked for help in getting Holder out of his house. He said she was the aggressor and had hit him with her shoe. He also told the operator he believed Holder was high on cocaine.

“Like, yo, she’s out of it, my man,” Hardy said during the call. “And she will not stop coming at me, bro.”

After being found guilty by a Mecklenburg County district judge Becky Tin, Hardy's attorney asked for and was granted a trial by jury.

The trial will start on November 17th in appeals court.

Hardy's NFL career could be in jeopardy. Ray Rice has been suspended indefinitely for a domestic violence case. Hardy could be facing the same fate depending on the outcome of the trial.
