Video After The Jump
(CNN) -- U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has condemned the planned burning of Qurans on the anniversary of the 2001 attacks on the United States as criticism mounts from Muslims around the world.
Speaking Tuesday at an iftar meal in Washington to celebrate the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, Clinton said she welcomed the concerns.
"I am heartened by the clear, unequivocal condemnation of this disrespectful, disgraceful act that has come from American religious leaders of all faiths ... as well as secular U.S. leaders and opinion makers," she said.
On Wednesday the U.S. Embassy in Pakistan also condemned the Florida church's plan to burn the Quran, the Muslim holy book, as "disrespectful, intolerant and divisive," in a statement.
The statement comes days after the top U.S. military commander in Afghanistan, Gen. David Petraeus, warned that the plan could put U.S. troops' lives at risk.
The pastor of the church, Terry Jones, told CNN Tuesday his flock was taking the warning seriously but had not decided to cancel the event, planned for September 11.
Jones, pastor of Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville, Florida, told CNN's "American Morning:"We have firmly made up our mind, but at the same time, we are definitely praying about it."
Later Tuesday, Jones had a response to the statement from Petraeus.
"The general needs to point his finger to radical Islam and tell them to shut up, tell them to stop, tell them that we will not bow our knees to them," Jones said on CNN's "AC360."
"We are burning the book," Jones said. "We are not killing someone. We are not murdering people."
The planned action has drawn sharp criticism from Muslims around the world and from U.S. officials.
The U.S. Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan, on Tuesday issued a statement saying the U.S. government "in no way condones such acts of disrespect against the religion of Islam, and is deeply concerned about deliberate attempts to offend members of religious or ethnic groups."
It emphasized that it strongly condemned "the offensive messages, which are contrary to U.S. government policy and deeply offensive to Muslims especially during the month of Ramadan."
With about 120,000 U.S. and NATO-led troops still battling al Qaeda and its allies in the Islamic fundamentalist Taliban movement, Petraeus warned that burning Qurans "is precisely the kind of action the Taliban uses and could cause significant problems -- not just here, but everywhere in the world we are engaged with the Islamic community."
Petraeus said he was concerned about the political repercussions of the church's plan.
"Even the rumor that it might take place has sparked demonstrations such as the one that took place in Kabul yesterday," he said. "Were the actual burning to take place, the safety of our soldiers and civilians would be put in jeopardy and accomplishment of the mission would be made more difficult."
Thousands of Indonesians gathered outside the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia, on Sunday to protest the planned Quran burning.
"The burning is not only an insult to the holy Quran, but an insult to Islam and Muslims around the world," said Muhammad Ismail, a spokesman for the hard-line Indonesian Muslim group Hizb ut-Tahrir.
Jones said his congregation was aware that the action was offensive.
"We realize that this action would indeed offend people, offend the Muslims. I am offended when they burn the flag. I am offended when they burn the Bible. But we feel that the message that we are trying to send is much more important than people being offended."
Jones said Muslims are welcomed in the United States, if they observe the Constitution and don't try to impose Sharia law, or Muslim law. The message, he said, is directed toward the "radical element of Islam."
"Our message is very clear," he said. "It is not to the moderate Muslim. Our message is not a message of hate. Our message is a message of warning to the radical element of Islam, and I think what we see right now around the globe provides exactly what we're talking about," he said.
The center says it was founded in 1986 as a "total concept church for the rich, the poor, the young and the old." Its purpose is to "stand up for righteousness and for the truth of the Bible." It stresses that "Christians must return to the truth and stop hiding."
"We need to speak up against sin and call the people to repentance. Abortion is murder. Homosexuality is sin. We need to call these things what they are and bring the world the true message: that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life," it says on the church's website.
It also emphasizes its dislike of Islam, and on its website, it blog posts an item called "Ten Reasons to Burn a Koran.
"Any religion which would profess anything other than this truth is of the devil. This is why we also take a stand against Islam, which teaches that Jesus is not the Son of God, therefore taking away the saving power of Jesus Christ and leading people straight to Hell," the site says.

Video After The JumpCINCINNATI - Police have made an arrest in a shooting involving a bow and arrow.
Police arrested 57-year-old Bo Spivey from Adams County Tuesday evening. Police say he fled to Georgia where he stopped at a farm house and turned himself in. Police responded to the farm house and took Spivey into custody Tuesday evening.
Spivey allegedly shot a man with a bow and arrow Tuesday morning.
Police identified the victim as 50-year-old Doug Stacey.
The shooting was reported to police around 7 a.m. in the 400 block of Beech Street in Elmwood Place, but officers say the victim may have been lying on his couch for hours before neighbors heard his calls for help.
"I live on the second floor and I could hear him from the window where his fan is. He said he's been shot three times and for somebody to call police," said neighbor Richard Sanders to a 911 dispatcher.
Police say Spivey was kicked out of a residence by Stacey who was letting him stay there.
"From what we can gather, he was allowing for him to stay and then last night he asked him to leave because he was disrespecting his 11-year-old daughter," said Chief William Peskin of Elmwood Place police.
Spivey allegedly came back to the residence and shot his friend three times with a bow and arrow.
Police say Stacey suffered two arrow wounds to the back and one to the hand.
"He was intending for the gentleman to die from what we can gather," said Chief Peskin.
Stacey's sister lives nearby and rushed over to find her brother being put into an ambulance.
"It was petrifying because you could see the tears in my brothers eyes and I raised my brother as my son so yeah he had me bawling. It scared me to death. I didn't know if he was going to live or not," said Sandra Charles, Doug Stacey's sister
The victim was transported to University Hospital in Cincinnati and his condition has not been released.
Police and relatives tell 9 News the victim has undergone surgery.
Neighbors also say Spivey might have been on medications.
Spivey will be extradited back to Cincinnati to face charges.

Video After The JumpRap's undisputed Punch Line King (PLK), Lloyd Banks recently sat down with TrueStoriesRadio.com.
Blue Hefner chopped it up about a wide variety of topics including his upcoming solo album 'HFM2', 50 Cent, Ashanti, Lloyd, Kat Stacks and Soulja Boy.
50 has taken the Twitter world by storm with his wild, funny and often times very blunt tweets. Banks feels like 50 is setting the new blueprint for the social network.
"It's definitely entertaining...he's being blunt and being just flat out. I think subliminals has what has been attractive until the point 50 came. 50 getting out there saying 'you n*gga'. The same approach we took to the hip hop game is what he's taking towards Twitter. And being downright honest," Banks said.
Over the last couple of years, Banks has dropped several classic mixtapes. But there have been haters scattered here and there that have had negative things to say. Banks says he sees everything and uses it as motivation.
"I wanna speak through my music. I wanna give n*ggas the gas face with the success of Hunger For More part 2. Because even the people that doubted me, it was like I needed them to. I use them for the energy, I watch the blogs, I look at the comments. And my whole goal was to make everybody who was a hater, turn into a supporter."
The Kat Stacks and Soulja Boy hotel video has been making the rounds. It's caused Soulja a lot of grief, Banks weighed in on that too.
"Kat Stacks is doing what she's doing and people are watching, she's crazy man," PLK says. "You see Soulja Boy out there, like what part of the game is that? This 2K hip hop sex sh*t is getting crazy. Back in the day, put it like this...It's girls I f*cked seven years ago that can't prove it to you. Now you got twitter and i-phones, it's taking away the intimacy."

Rihanna already gave us her "Rockstar 101" best on last year's Rated R, so this time she's turning it up with a new CD whose title says it all. The singer revealed in a chat with fans over the weekend that her fifth studio effort will be called Loud. It's due out on November 2 and is preceded by the single "Only Girl (In the World)," which premiered on Ryan Seacrest's radio show early Tuesday (September 7)."I'm done recording the whole album," Rihanna revealed during the chat, which took place on the official fansite Rihanna Daily. "I made sure not to let you down with my music! You guys are always defending me, so now you've got some great songs to justify it. I didn't want to go backward and remake [2007's] Good Girl Gone Bad. I wanted the next step in the evolution of Rihanna, and it's perfect for us."The singer said she's never been this excited about any album she's done, urging the members of her RihannaNavy to "get LOUD everybody, get crazy, get excited, cuz I'm pumped. I'm just gonna be ME, cuz that's what u guys love the most, and that's what makes me feel best.Just being normal, normal for me is LOUD! Sassy, fun, flirty, energetic."While Rihanna said she'll miss the Rated R era, she promised that one year after that dark, emotional effort, "nothing compares to the album I just made." She also teased some "surprise" collaborations on the disc, though she didn't reveal any names during the chat."Girl" is produced by Stargate, who also collaborated with Rihanna on such early hits as "Don't Stop the Music," "Hate That I Love You" and the R banger "Rude Boy."Source:MTVRead more…

The lineup for this year's 2010 BET Hip Hop Awards Show cypher has leaked thanks to 2DopeBoys, and there's one major surprise.
One cypher will consist two living legends and their sons. Ice Cube, his sons OMG and Doughboy will be in the same circle as Rev Run and his sons Diggy and Jojo. That in itself should be pretty interesting.
The rest of the cyphers are listed below. According to Eazeest.com, two of the five will only be seen online.
Something is bugging me about this list though. Why the hell is Farnsworth Bentley even going to be near a mic? And why would they put one of the best young rappers in the game, Vado in a cypher with him?
The BET Hip Hop Awards airs Tuesday October 12 at 8pm Eastern, and will be hosted by Mike Epps.

Cypher 2: Vado x Farnsworth Bentley x Raychester
Cypher 3: Raekwon x Yelawolf x Wiz Khalifa x Bones Brigante
Cypher 4: Rev Run x (and sons) x Ice Cube (and sons)

Video After The JumpWhat are the odds?Wanda Rodriguez, a 41-year-old assistant head nurse at New York's Calvary Hospital, had not seen her father since she was a baby.
Raised by her mother in the Bronx after her parents broke up when she was less than a year old, Rodriguez didn't know much more of her father than his name, Victor Peraza, and her mother's recollection that Rodriguez looked a lot like him.
But as fate would have it, on Aug. 25 a new cancer patient was admitted to Calvary, a hospital that administers care to the terminally ill. When Rodriguez learned his name while discussing his case with a colleague, she froze up.
"I thought, if he's my complexion, if he has green eyes, he could be my dad," Rodriguez told ABC News.
Summoning her courage, Rodriguez decided she had to find out if the man in the hospital bed was indeed the father she had never known.
"I needed to go to his room," she told the New York Post. "I had to see him. My mom said I resembled my dad very much. I go into the room. He looks right at me and I realize: He looks like me and I look like him."
Shaking from the revelation, Rodriguez asked Peraza if he had any children. Yes he did, Peraza told her: two grown daughters, one named Gina and the other named Wanda.
After composing herself, Rodriguez decided to lay her cards bare. "Hi, I'm Wanda," she told him. "I'm your daughter."
In fact, Rodriguez says Peraza seemed to have already realized who his nurse was. "I know you're my daughter," she recalls him saying.
Later, Rodriguez's mother confirmed Peraza's identity and even visited his bedside. It was their first meeting since the couple, who had married when they were in high school, split up.
In his visits with his daughter, Peraza, 60, has expressed his guilt for being an absentee father. Rodriguez has remained more focused on the present.
"Then he asked for forgiveness," Rodriguez told ABC "He said, 'I know I wasn't a good father. I regret the mistakes I made.' I said, 'I forgive you. Let's not talk about that now. I want to enjoy this time.'"
In a tragic twist, Peraza may not have long to live, but since his unlikely reunion with his daughter, the two have been spending a lot of time catching up. Peraza has been able to meet his three grandchildren and Rodriguez's husband.
"He's at peace," Rodriguez told the Post. "He's had closure. He said, 'Wanda, I've met you. I'm OK. I'm ready to die'."

Versus will formally announce Tuesday that being outspoken or outrageous — or is it obnoxious? — can lead to getting your own national TV talk show.
Even while you're still an active NFL player.
Chad Ochocinco and Terrell Owens, new Cincinnati Bengals teammates whose respective VH1 reality shows recently wound down, will now move on to their own The T.Ocho Show, a taped talk show on Comcast-owned Versus that kicks off with a preview Tuesday night.
Ochocinco says the show will focus on football but might also touch on "baseball and hockey. With my love of soccer, I'll throw that in. And porn. I'm doing amateur porn, so I'll throw that in. … Do you understand how dangerous this is for us to have a stage like this?"
Says Owens: "There will be topics where Chad and I will get in trouble. We'll talk about issues that aren't talked about in the mainstream media. It's an opportunity for two of loudest mouths who've been in the league."
Well, yes, when you put like that. The show, billed as the first-ever weekly national talk show featuring active NFL players, will be previewed Tuesday night and run for the next five weeks on Tuesday nights with Owens and Ochocinco doing segments in Versus' The Daily Line show (11 ET). On Oct. 12, The T.OchoShow debuts as a stand-alone, to follow Versus' NHL games starting at 10:30 p.m. ET.
The idea for the show, says Versus programming vice president Andy Meyer, became obvious "the minute" that Owens signed with the Bengals and "their Batman and Robin relationship got going." That pairing, he suggests, will serve as a sort of booster rocket for two players who were already well off the media launch pad: "They'd already had significant accomplishments as personalities."
Meyer adds that "we'd love this to be the creation of a new genre of television" where athletes can speak "without layers of editors and beat writers filtering them out."
Owens sounds game. "Some guys get on TV shows and put on their media hats and turn their back on players," he says. "I'm not going to be a brown-noser for nobody. This is something probably a lot of people don't want to see. There'll be jealous people who'll criticize it, just like they criticized my reality show."
That reality show was so behind-the-scenes that viewers saw Owens in sessions with his therapist. The Versus show, he suggests, will also offer up subjects that usually stay behind closed doors. "I don't want to get into a race issue, but when you look at the media talking about (player) holdouts, it's usually about African-Americans," says Owens, noting heavy coverage of New York Jet Darrelle Revis' holdout before he signed a new contract Monday. "When do you see Caucasians shown just trying to get their money? Why is that never talked about? We'll stick out our chests and advocate for guys trying to get paid for what they deserve."
Owens says he's been told he's "a natural in front of cameras" but doesn't see himself going into sportscasting after retiring from the NFL. Ochocinco, who culled through 85 bachelorettes for his The Ultimate Catch VH1 reality show — "it's just what I do in offseasons, but with cameras following me" — figures he'll "go for the whole 9 yards" in post-football media. "Now, I'm setting myself up so I can do whatever I want."
But Ochocinco suggests for now, he and Owens have a unique angle: "What will be refreshing for everybody is we play the game. You'll live the game through us."
Or at least get a taste of its woofing.

He's a Grammy Award-winning, multiplatinum hip-hop star who's scored a host of top 10 hits, collaborated with heavy hitters from T.I. to Tim McGraw, owns a label and a successful clothing line and is celebrating his 10th anniversary in music.
But for rapper Nelly's teenage daughter, the biggest validation that her father is still "cool" came only last week-from Taylor Swift. "I'm so in love with that new Nelly song," the country phenom tweeted about Nelly's latest single, "Just a Dream," produced by Jim Jonsin and Rico Love.
"My daughter was like, 'OMG!' " the 36-year-old father of two says about his daughter's shock at Swift's recognition. "I'm only cool to her because I know Chris Brown and Bow Wow, and now Taylor tweeted about me."
Apparently, Swift isn't the only one enamored with the track. "Just a Dream"-one of two lead singles from Nelly's upcoming "5.0" album from Derrty/Universal Motown (Nov. 16)-debuted at No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 8 on Hot Digital Songs, marking his first top 10 hit since "Grillz" topped the Hot 100 in 2006. Released concurrently with club track "Tippin' in Da Club," the midtempo, guitar-driven "Dream" is No. 7 on Hot Digital Songs and No. 13 on the Hot 100.
"When I did the song, I knew I had something; I loved the strings in it," the St. Louis-raised rapper says. "As an artist, you get those feelings, like when I did 'Dilemma' [with Kelly Rowland] and 'Over and Over' [with McGraw]. Me, Jim and Rico . . . we just felt it."
Jonsin points to the "super contagious melodies" and Nelly's strong fan base as key reasons behind the breakout success of "Dream." And Love agrees. "It just shows that people are still in love with great songs minus the bells and whistles," he says.
But Nelly's fan base hasn't always been as impressed with his work. His 2008 album, "Brass Knuckles," has only sold 223,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. In fact, "Dream"-about missing a former love-has already outpaced sales of "Brass," moving 252,000 downloads, according to SoundScan.
While Nelly was disappointed by the "Brass" outcome, he used it as motivation for his upcoming sixth album. "Like the 5.0 Mustang, it's going to be a classic," the rapper says. "This album is a lot more melodic than most of my previous albums. It has the power, energy and diversity that my fans have allowed me to [draw from] over the years, including pop, rhythmic, urban and even country."
In addition to "Dream" and "Club," the album includes "She So Fly." Featuring T.I., who also produced, the song is about having a second opportunity to impress someone you desire. "1000 Stacks" is another club track featuring Sean "Diddy" Combs and the late Notorious B.I.G. Other guests include Rowland, Baby, Plies, Chris Brown and Nelly's own St. Lunatics crew. The Runners, Polow Da Don, Dutch and Juke Box are among the set's producers.
Aside from "5.0," Nelly hopes to release a St. Lunatics project on the same date and plans to issue the accompanying video to "Dream" in the coming weeks. In between, he's been staging stateside in-stores in support of his Apple Bottoms fashion brand and recently acquired the rights to the Troop clothing line. He also continues to work on his nonprofit organizations, 4Sho4Kids and Jes Us 4 Jackie-the latter inspired by the loss of his sister Jackie to leukemia.
As the countdown to "5.0" begins, Nelly is savoring his return. "I was always told good artists are only one hit away from re-establishing themselves or becoming bigger than they were," he says. "I love the comeback. I love the triumph in it."

Video After The JumpLil Cease been around for a minute, holding it down ever since he was Notorious B,I.G's right hand man.
Cease chopped it up with Major Moves DVD about what he's been up to and put a rumor to bed.
Cease said he's dropping a new mixtape next month hosted by DJ Kay Slay "Everything Is Hardbody" with features from Styles-P, Peedi Crakk, Sheek Louch, Raekwon, Papoose, Jay Rock, Fabolous, Bustah Rhymes, Young Chris, Shawty Lo and Mr Fab
Rumors that Cease is a snitch have been bouncing around since he testified at Lil Kim's trial a few years back. He says nothing can be further from the truth.
"I don't like talking about no more...it's like this. My paperwork is public record, my name is James Lloyd. Go the building, get my case number and you'll have your own judgment," Cease said. "If a n*gga got a problem with me and wanna address, I'm out on my block, I aint hard to find. I caught plenty cases and never talked, ner ratted on a n*gga"
Cease also sais that he has no more beef with Maino and dismissed Bunk S.A (the dude that recently offered to fight Maino for 10G's, who also called Cease a snitch). Cease says Bunky is one of those disloyal dudes that bounces from crew to crew.
