When we previously reported that LL Cool J had lumped up a would-be burglar he caught in his home yesterday morning we had no idea of the amount of damage LL inflicted on the intruder.

CNN is reporting that 56-year old Jonathan Kirby suffered a broken jaw, nose and ribs after LL beat him down before holding him until police arrived.

It gets worse worse for Kirby. He was charged by the L.A. County District Attorney's Office with first degree burglary as a "third striker." Under California law he could face 38 years to life in convicted.

12349441473?profile=original

Prosecutors have asked the judge to set Kirby's bail at $1.1 million.

LAS VEGAS — The UFC canceled its Sept. 1 pay-per-view show Thursday after light-heavyweight contender Dan Henderson injured his knee and champion Jon Jones, a Union-Endicott High School graduate, declined a replacement fight with Chael Sonnen.

UFC President Dana White was left furious with Jones, who lives in Ithaca, and his trainer, Greg Jackson, after the UFC was forced to scrap a major card for the first time in his 11 years in charge of mixed martial arts’ dominant promotion.

This is probably one of my all-time lows,” White said. “The one thing that I never thought in a million years would ever happen — it happened.

White said Jones is the first UFC champion to turn down a match even on short notice, calling the decision “selfish” and “disgusting.”

12349446299?profile=original

Dana White

UFC 151 was scheduled for Sept. 1 at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

Jones agreed to defend his title against former champion Lyoto Machida at UFC 152 in Toronto on Sept. 22 in a rematch of their bout last December in the same city.

But that did nothing to curb White’s anger at one of his promotion’s biggest stars. Last-minute matchup changes occur frequently in MMA shows due to injuries, and White seldom has a problem getting his tough-guy fighters to take risks.

12349447278?profile=original

Chael Sonnen

We’ve never, ever had a fighter refuse to fight somebody, especially a fighter who is a world champion as well as one of the top pound-for-pound guys in the world,” White said. “It’s baffling to me, and I’ve never seen it before.

Jones and Jackson did not respond to requests for comment.

Henderson, 41, was forced to drop out of his title shot against Jones after partially tearing a ligament in his knee during training, according to White.

12349447864?profile=original

Dan Henderson

Sonnen agreed to take the assignment on eight days’ notice, moving up from 185 pounds to 205 to do it. The trash-talking, attention-loving Sonnen was stopped by middleweight champion Anderson Silva on July 7 in their entertaining rematch at UFC 148.

Chael Sonnen says, ‘I’ll fight him tonight,’” White said. “He’s that kind of a person. He puts his money where his mouth is. He goes out and delivers. He’s willing to step out and fight.”

But White said Jones and Jackson decided the champion could not be ready to fight the dangerous Sonnen. White was particularly enraged by Jackson, the respected Albuquerque-based trainer of several elite MMA fighters, calling him “a sport-killer” and “a weirdo” before saying: “Greg Jackson should never be interviewed by anybody ever again, except a psychiatrist.

Jones is among the sport’s top handful of pound-for-pound fighters after his meteoric rise to the title in March 2011 in just his eighth UFC fight, yet his previously squeaky-clean image has taken enormous hits this year after his arrest on a drunken-driving charge in Binghamton in May, followed by his decision to decline this fight.

Jones, 25, a former college wrestler and the brother of two NFL players, has been open about his financial motivations for fighting in recent months, saying he hopes to retire young to pursue other interests.

Jon Jones has been one of these guys who, as much as he’s won and all the things that he’s accomplished, he’s been a champion that hasn’t been very popular, and I don’t think this is going to do wonders for his popularity,” White said.

12349448080?profile=original

Jon "Bones" Jones

The UFC will give refunds on all tickets, costing the promotion an enormous amount of “money that’s already been spent,” according to White, on everything from Times Square billboards to extensive television advertising. But thousands of fans who converge on the UFC’s hometown for its big events already have booked plane tickets and hotel rooms.

White is also apoplectic about the cancellation or rescheduling of UFC 151’s 10 preliminary bouts, lamenting the wasted money and training time spent by the undercard fighters with a fraction of Jones’ wealth.

Charlie Brenneman, a journeyman welterweight scheduled to fight Australia’s Kyle Noke in a preliminary card bout to be aired on Facebook, tweeted at Jones: “U can send my check to PO box 198. EH NJ. Rent is due the first, so preferably by then. Thanks.

Everyone seems to have an opinion regarding Lil Wayne's recent comments about his dislike for New York. Busta Rhymes is the most recent person to step up and speak about it.

Bussa Buss told Angie Martinez that Wayne has a reason to feel the way he does given how he was treated when he caught his gun charge and subsequently spent eight months at Rikers Island. Busta compared the situation to one he had in El Paso, Texas years ago where he had to shell out $56,000 between bail for everyone in his crew over misdemeanor charges. Because of that incident he doesn't like El Paso and hasn't played a show there since.

Busta also spoke about the Peter Rosenberg and Nicki Minaj beef. He said he wants Rosenberg to apologize to Nicki.

A new Alicia Keys album is always welcome news. The 31-year old beauty recently announced the title of her of her fifth studio album would be Girl On Fire. Today she relealed the official cover for it and a November 27th release date.

Keys also sat down with EW for their Fall Music Preview to talk about the album, her son Egypt, touring and more. Check out an excerpt from the interview below.

EW: Let’s start with your album title, Girl on Fire. I know that you wrote that you wanted to make a change in your life and represent a new journey and a fresh start, but is the title also influenced by The Hunger Games?

Alicia Keys: You know, the funny thing is that it’s actually not. It was such a shock when I heard about The Hunger Games — I wasn’t aware of the book at that point. And I didn’t realize that, I guess, that’s what they call the one girl. So we tried very hard to make it all work and put the song in — and to put parts of what I was developing in with the movie. Anyway, obviously it came out way too early, so the timing wasn’t right. But, no, it has nothing to do with The Hunger Games. That powerful feeling is what it’s all about.

You found success at a relatively young age, and you’re only 31 now. Why did you feel the need for a fresh start?

It came more from a personal place. And when I talk about changing, I think I mean maybe more evolution. There was just a moment in my life where I was just realizing all of these things, and they just became really clear. All of a sudden, I realized that things that I had dealt with before, or things that I thought that I wanted in my life before, or things that I thought were acceptable to me before just started to be different. I didn’t feel that same way anymore.

I think that was simply evolution and becoming more conscious and aware of who I am and what kind of life I want to have. You don’t just have to take the s— they dish out to you; you don’t have to take it. You can actually make a conscious choice to say, “You know, that’s cool, but I’m going to leave that one behind.” And there’s something very empowering about that — acknowledging how far you’ve come because of it and then being strong enough and brave enough to leave it behind. Which is not nearly as easy as I’m making it sound because it wasn’t that easy for me either.

Obviously, that takes a lot of time; that takes a courage that, I think, sometimes we doubt we have inside of ourselves. And so just all those discoveries made me realize that this overall claiming of what type of life I want to have is what made me change for the better.

Did any of this have to do with giving birth to your son, Egypt?

Definitely. It’s like you go through an immediate — you get an immediate perspective shift. There’s just nothing like it. And, all of a sudden, it’s like you’re a full-on f—ing grown up. It’s obviously because you’re a mom and you’re caring for another life. But it’s more than that: It’s like you have a sense of what feels right and what doesn’t feel right.

It’s so interesting how before I would literally debate and debate and debate, like, “Hmmm, should I or shouldn’t I?” Or If I had a particular choice to make, it would be like “Maybe I should…” And it’s like the debate is gone now. I know pretty instantly what it is. If I just listen to myself…you know, “Well this cuts in too much to that, and this takes away too much of that. And I just don’t feel comfortable with that, so I’m just going to let that go.” It’s just easier. There’s definitely that growing up and more consciousness of what important to me at this time and why I’ll do anything to make sure that that stay’s true.

So this will be your first grown-up record, would you say?

Yeah. It’s interesting, even as I think about it, my last record — which I’m so proud of and I loved the way we were able to do so many progressive musical things and kind of push the envelope forward for me as an artist. As an artist that’s part of what gives me excitement — pushing myself forward to a new place. So for The Element of Freedom to have done that for me, to have been able to do that with my last record, I’m so proud of it. But as I look back on it, I’m like, “Interesting, Alicia, that you chose to call this an element of freedom because, in actuality, at that point, there was only an element of it.” Now, there is far more to it. It’s kind of incredible; it’s great.

12349467056?profile=original

So were all these songs written after Egypt? Or were some of them from before?

I have to say pretty much all of them were written after Egypt. You know, I have a lot of songs, and many of them won’t make the record—but that’s just the nature of things. I do feel like the majority of them were written after, so that’s cool.

Where did you record the album? You said you traveled the world recording it…

The majority of where I recorded was in New York. That’s my hometown, so I love being here and there’s something really powerful about this city that resonates in me. I was definitely here for the majority of the time, and then there were a couple of other places as well. I recorded in London and in Jamaica, which was the first time I ever did that. And that was really cool because it was a gathering of these very interesting collaborators that would never be in one space together…ever! And it just created such an igniting, crazy creation of music and just like explosive situation.  That was really cool. I told myself, “I’m never doing an album without doing something like that.”

Video And Pics After The Jump

Rita Ora has taken her time getting her Roc Nation debut Ora ready for it's August 27th release date. It's been a lot of hard work, but Rita wouldn't change a thing.

In her September feature for GQ, the London singer talks about the three years it's taken to produce her new project.

The thing about Rita Ora is she can actually sing. No, like, really sing. At our photo shoot, she blew out brains with a cast-off couplet from "R.I.P."—her Drake-penned UK hit—while blithely examining her scorched platinum curls. Her first hit in the U.S., "How We Do (Party)," is very Rih-Gaga— all ear-wormy, clubby, and girl-power anthemic—but surely There Will Be Ballads. (Check her tender acoustic take on OutKast's "Hey Ya!") "It's fun to show off your abilities," she says, spearing a tiny Danish with a bejeweled talon and popping it in her mouth. "Your vocal range, your tone." Jay-Z signed the Kosovo-born Brit to his label, Roc Nation, in 2009. Then he did the unthinkable: He gave her three years to finish her new debut album, Ora. For most starlets, that's a lotta bankable time wasted; for Rita, it was three years to evolve into a singer who will have a—gasp!—career. "The public's not stupid," she says. "You can tell an honest artist from one who's just been given all their songs."

Lil Wayne angered a lot of people in the Big Apple when he told MTV that he flat out doesn't like the city. Weezy is still heated over his 2010 incarceration in Rikers Island on gun charges, but that didn't stop him from recently performing in the city.

Sen. Malcolm A. Smith, who represents Queens, New York thinks the rapper should apologize or stay out of the city.

"I come from Hollis Queens which is the home of hip hop. And quite frankly my response to Lil Wayne, which is on behalf of the 50 million tourists who come here and make New York City their home two weeks out of the year. The 8 million people that live here and work hard to raise their family here. If he doesn't like New York, perhaps he shouldn't come here," Smith told TMZ.

Smith also added that New York shouldn't support Wayne if that's the way he feels.

"Perhaps we in New York shouldn't support the products that he has," Smith continued. "I mean he's insulting people like Jay-Z who has done so many endearing songs about New York. Frank Sinatra just to get historical. And I would hope that Nicki Minaj who lives in Queens, the are I represent. I hope that she would whisper to Lil Wayne that perhaps maybe he should think a little more about what he says. And maybe he should be a little more thoughtful about what he says."

12349465098?profile=original

Sen. Malcolm A. Smith

The Senator said that if Wayne apologized he would be willing to listen.

"I'm calling on an apology," Smith said. "I'm hoping that he apologizes. I would be more than happy to sit down and listen to his apology. New Yorkers are people that have forgiving hearts. But quite frankly we're not gonna let someone come here and make a living off all the New Yorkers and tourists here and then basically say 'I don't like New York.'"

Hot 97 radio personality Peter Rosenberg also spoke out about Wayne's comments.

"Listen, this is a great lesson to the kids," Rosenberg said. "Do not get high and go skateboarding. Because you may fall off your skateboard and say something crazy. I would never publicly diss and entire city no matter how bad your personal experience was. Let alone the city that birthed hip hop."

12349465469?profile=original

Rosenberg went on to say that hip hop heads in New York feel disrespected by what Wayne said.

Video After The Jump

There was once a time when Jadakiss and Beanie Sigel couldn't have been in the same building together, much less sitting next to each other talking like gentlemen, but those days are long gone.

The two MC's put their beef to bed years ago. Yesterday they were able to talk about it on MTV's RapFix.

Beans said at the time he felt he had to step up to the plate because he felt there were subliminal shots being thrown at other artists on the Roc-A-Fella label, so he took the challenge even though he was fairly new to the game.

"I aint gonna lie I think that was one of the best things to happen to me and my career because it separated me from being just a Roc-A-Fella artist. It gave me my own name," Beans said.

Jadakiss said that when the beef started it came as a shock to him. He even recalled one line Beanie spit that made him get rid of one of his cars.

"My first car was a 430 AMG Benz and on his first single he said 'You got the 430, small wheels,'" 'Kiss remembered of the lyric from Beanie's "Mack Bitch," "He probably didn't mean it for me, but I was like, 'I gotta get rid of this little car, jump into something bigger.'"

They both agreed the beef probably ended in a draw,

"I think it was therapeutic for hip-hop," 'Kiss said.

Lupe Fiasco decides to keep it simple an goes with an all black theme for the cover art to his fourth studio album Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Part 1.

The cover is reminiscent of Prince's 1994 project titled The Black Album, which was released as a reaction to critics who said he had gone too-pop. It was his attempt to regain his African American audience.

Lupe's previous album, Lasers, received criticism in some corners that he too had gone pop. With the release of his new "Bitch Bad" music video, Lupe shows that he is still very much in touch with his roots.

Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Part 1 will be released on September 25th.
