Beyoncé Knowles has donned many guises in her entertainment career -- musical superstar, fashion icon, actress (yeah, we'll even count her "Pink Panther" turn).

Now she's looking to add a rather different notch: documentary director.

Knowles and her representatives at agency ICM have in recent weeks been shopping a nonfiction film to Hollywood studios about the celebrity's life and career.

According to a person familiar with the package who was not authorized to talk about it publicly, the movie is as a mix of music and personal study, blending concert footage with confessional interview. Knowles not only stars in the project but is directing it, and will also serve as a producer. About 20 minutes of footage has been shown to distributors.

A representative at Knowles’ agency did not immediately reply to a request for comment.

Knowles certainly would have a lot to discuss in the doc. In the last 18 months, she's released a top-selling album ("4"), split from her longtime manager (her father), and had a baby, Blue Ivy Carter, with husband Jay-Z, among other noteworthy events.

Although she's attached to star in a potential remake of "A Star Is Born," Knowles also has had a taste of the nonfiction film life. In June 2011, MTV aired "Beyoncé: Year of 4,” a "mini-documentary" that showed the artist taking time off and then returning to the recording studio.

Feature documentaries about musical superstars have come into vogue of late with movies from Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, the Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus. Though not always blockbusters (Perry’s “Part of Me” has grossed just $24 million since coming out last month), they continue to be appealing to the entertainment industry: The stars like the exposure in a new medium, while studios appreciate the movies' built-in appeal and comparatively low cost.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. will be released from jail as early as midnight tonight. The pound-for-pound best boxer in the world was originally sentenced to 90 days in jail, but is eligible for early release based on good behavior according to the L.A. Times.

50 Cent tweeted the good news earlier today.

12349417258?profile=original

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Dept. spokesman Bill Cassell said Mayweather's release date is Friday, but added, "historically, inmates can be processed out the night before."

While Floyd has been away, he's still been keeping his name relevant.

He and 50 have formed TMT Promotions and have signed several fighters already including Yuriorkis Gamboa, Billy Dib and Andre Dirrell. They are also rumored to be signing Zab Judah and Andre Berto.

Lil Wayne called into Hot 107.9 to talk about the upcoming fourth installment of his Dedication mixtape series. He also chopped it up with Drama about the Hot 107.9 Birthday Bash, the Young Money nominations for the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, hitting the stage in Miami with Nicki Minaj on her Pink Friday tour, his friendship with 2 Chainz, comparing the 2012 Olympic basketball team to the original Dream Team and more.

Wayne also responded to James "Jas" Prince's lawsuit alleging neither he or Drake have been paid royalties they are due.

"I just heard about that yesterday," Wayne said. "All I can say is it's not true, but I really have no response. It's funny... I'm just making a lot of money over here."

The Dedication 4 mixtape is scheduled to drop in the middle of this month.

One of hip hop's most memorable beefs has to be Jay-Z vs. Prodigy. In the end most hip hop heads would say that Jay won that battle.

In a new interview with AllHipHop, Havoc talks about the beef and what it meant to the group and whether it had a negative impact on Prodigy as an artist.

"I saw the difference, but at the time I didn't wanna believe it," Havoc said referring to the change in Prodigy after the Jay-Z beef died down. "From all angles everybody was coming down on P, but I was holding him down like, 'nah son still good.' I just felt like I had to step my game up."

Havoc says in his opinion the beef never should have happened in the first place.

"That should have been a beef that never shouldn't have took place," Hav continued. "Always in my eyes I always felt like that. But for the greater good I said, 'if that's what you wanna do go ahead and do it.' I'm more into forming alliances than trying to be out here starting beef with people."

Hav goes on to talk about still being close to members of the Infamous Mobb. He said they don't want to get into the middle of his beef with Prodigy.

Lebron James and Lauren Perdue

Miami Heat player may have just won a championship, but even he gets turned down by women every now and again. Information has leaked out that Lebron asked Olympic swimmer Lauren Perdue out to dinner. She politely declined and told the ball player that she had a curfew.

Things would have been OK had they ended there, but Perdue tweeted the information out to her followers. That tweet was then retweeted by her Alma mater, the University of Virginia.

12349407060?profile=original

Lauren then sent out a tweet with a pic of herself posing with Lebron (up top).

12349406682?profile=original

After that the information went viral.

To make matters worse Lebron is engaged to his high school sweetheart, Savannah Brinson. Brinson is also the mother of Lebron's two children.

Perdue gave an interview to Scott Fowler of the Charlotte Observer to try and clear up the situation.

I asked Perdue about it Wednesday. "The basketball players were nice enough to kind of come out and meet the swimmers and take pictures," Perdue said, speaking of a recent evening when the basketball players toured the Olympic Village (they aren't staying there -- the swimmers are).

LeBron did take a liking to Perdue, though, who is a star swimmer at the University of Virginia. So did he really ask her to dinner?

"He did," Perdue said. "He was kind of joking but he was basically like, 'Would you like to come eat with me at the dining hall?' And I said, 'Um, I'm sorry, I have a curfew. So I turned that one down, yeah."

One more note: Perdue said LeBron was "gracious" and certainly didn't imply that he was asking her to anything other than a meal at the Olympic Village dining hall.

It's no secret that Drake is a huge fan of late singer/actress Aaliyah. It appears he will now get the chance to work on music for her next album.

According to HipHopDX, Drizzy will produce her next album. In addition he will appear on her next single and will feature her vocals on his next release.

Last March while in London, Drake hinted to BBC Radio 1's Tim Westwood that he had something special related to the late singer in the works. “I have some great Aaliyah news coming soon,” he said. “Just some special things. Just gave you that, just a little. Because I said, I'm with Westwood, so I can't not. But great things, great things for music, period.

In what turned out to be one of the largest hauls of crystal meth and the biggest heroin bust in Australian history authorities smashed a Hong Kong-linked international drugs syndicate.

The bust was the culmination of a year-long operation following a tip-off from US authorities according to the Daily Mail.

"This was an 11 month investigation where we've had tight control over a number of people who we suspected of being involved in illicit narcotic importations," Australian deputy police commissioner Andrew Colvin said. "This has prevented half a billion dollars of drugs reaching Australian streets"

Seven people, four from Hong Kong and three from Australia, were detained. They ranged in age from between 29 and 61-years-old.

The drugs were hidden inside terracotta pots from Thailand.

50 Cent and Floyd Mayweather Jr. appear to be very close to adding another top notch fighter to their TMT Promotions team.

ESPN is reporting that former five-time world champion Zab Judah and 50 are in the advanced stages of negotiations.

"I just left 50," Judah told ESPN's Dan Rafael. "He's a very interesting person. I've spent a lot of time with him when he was in (Las) Vegas (where Judah lives). We've been friends. I've been knowing 50 for a long time. His brain for business is phenomenal. We met Monday and (Tuesday). When you're doing big things it takes time. Anything that comes fast is not worth it. We're planning on doing it big. I like what 50 brings to the table. It's a great game plan. I think it will be a very good situation that will play out in boxing. It'll be something new and fresh."

Judah is a free agent now after his contract with Kathy Duva's Main Events ran out. If things go according to plan his next bout will be a title fight. Either against IBF junior welterweight world champion, Lamont Peterson, who may be stripped of his title after a recent positive drug test. Or he could face undefeated Mike Alvarado (33-0, 23 KO) for the vacant IBF title.

Zudah sounded confident that either fight would take place under the TMT Promotions banner.

"It's gonna be a dream team to have Zab Judah, Floyd Mayweather, Dirrell, Gamboa, Dib all in one circle," Zudah said of the team TMT has already assembled. "[the deal] will be done. In the coming days. We're just waiting on 'Money May' to come home [from jail]."
