MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - A Mobile County judge revoked the probation of Mobile rapper “HoneyKomb Brazy."
The rapper, whose real name is Nashon Jones, was on probation for a conviction on a charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
He only served 18 months of a 15-year sentence, but now the DA's office said he'll have to serve the rest of the time.
Prosecutors asked the judge to send him back to prison for violating the terms of that probation. Prosecutors presented 15 video clips showing Jones with guns or drugs.
The defense argued that those were stage props for music videos. Even if true, the judge wrote in his order, that does not explain a shootout that the defendant was present for in Montgomery. His associates traded gunfire with unknown assailants. Jones later posted an account of the incident on social media.
Prosecutors also accused Jones of failing to check in with his probation officer. The defendant implied that he ignored an order to report to the probation officer because he feared his life was in danger following the killing of his grandparents, Tony & Leila Lewis.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Yahoo News) A Franklin County man is accused of leaving his wife in a pickup truck for five days after she asked him to take her to the hospital — so long that when she arrived at the hospital, her skin was stuck to the seat & waste was leaking out of the vehicle, the sheriff’s office said.
She “has numerous sores & places where her skin is deteriorating,” a police citation stated.
When the woman arrived at Frankfort Regional Medical Center Saturday, the hospital called Frankfort EMS for a medical lift assist to help get her out of the truck. When EMS workers started to help her, they “noticed that she was sticking to the seat,” the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said in a uniform citation filed in Franklin District Court.
EMS responders said she was “covered in feces & urine,” which was also leaking out of the side of the truck.
The woman told the sheriff’s office that she relies on her husband, Michael Redmon, as her caregiver & had been in the truck since July 12, when she had asked him to take her to the hospital. She said she “asked for help from the truck several times,” but that Redmon did not help her out of the vehicle or take her to the hospital until July 17, according to the police citation.
Redmon, 51, is charged with first-degree criminal abuse. He remained in the Franklin County Regional Jail Tuesday night.
Maria Taylor and ESPN are divorcing – and she is expected to end up with NBC and at the Olympics, The Post has learned.
Taylor, 34, leaves ESPN just weeks after a year-old private tape of leaked comments in which fellow NBA host/reporter Rachel Nichols’ alleged ESPN gave Taylor the Finals hosting job to make up for what Nichols described as the network’s “crappy longtime record on diversity.”
For NBC, if a contract is completed, Taylor is expected to be part of its forthcoming Olympic coverage that begins in earnest on Friday.
While several sources said Taylor is headed to NBC, nothing is official yet.
After The Post broke the news of ESPN and Taylor’s failure to reach a new contract agreement, the network’s chairman Jimmy Pitaro & Taylor released a joint statement. Pitaro said, “there is no doubt we will miss Maria,” adding, “While she chose to purse a new opportunity, we are proud of the work we’ve done together.”
Taylor said she was “So thankful to Jimmy and all of my great teammates.” She did not address what is next for her.
If the NBC deal is finalized, she also could be waiting in the on-deck circle to become the host of “Football Night in America,” when Mike Tirico moves to the full-time “Sunday Night” Football play-by-play position in the fall of 2022. It is not fully set that Taylor will replace Tirico, but seems as if it could be a potential fit. Taylor could also have a role on Notre Dame football this season.

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Corrections officials in Alaska announced a Utah man who was serving a 30-year prison sentence for killing his wife on a cruise ship has died.
Kenneth Manzanares, 43, was found unresponsive in his cell on Wednesday and was pronounced dead shortly after, according to the Alaska Department of Corrections (DOC) .
“No foul play is suspected. This death is not COVID-19 related,” a statement from the DOC says.
The DOC adds that Manzanares’ death will be investigated by the Alaska State Troopers and the Medical Examiner’s Office.
Manzanares, of Santa Clara, killed his wife Kristy during an argument while the family was on an Alaskan cruise in July 2017, according to court records. He was sentenced to 30 years in prison last month after pleading guilty to murder earlier this year.
Prosecutors said Manzanares became upset with his wife when she told him she wanted a divorce. Affidavits filed in federal court said Manzanares became enraged with his wife because she would not stop laughing at him.
Witnesses told investigators that they had to grab Kristy Manzanares’ body to prevent Kenneth from throwing her overboard.
At the time of the murder, friends and neighbors of the Manzanares family told 2News that they had not seen any signs of violence in their relationship.

MILTON, MASS. (WHDH) - A man accused of fatally shooting another man outside of his Milton home in a targeted attack over the weekend has been ordered held without bail.
Myles King, 21, of Milton, was arraigned Monday on a charge of murder in connection with the death of 25-year-old Marquis Simmons, who was driving a moped along Belvoir Road around 6 p.m. Saturday when he dismounted the vehicle and was shot a few yards away from the bike, according to the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office. A not guilty plea was entered on King’s behalf.
Simmons was taken to Boston Medical Center for emergency surgery, but he did not survive. King was later arrested at the Milton police station on a warrant for Simmons’ murder.
Two years ago, King was caught outside of Simmons’ home with a gun, prosecutor Adam Lally told the court.
Simmons, who was in and out of consciousness, managed to mutter to responding officers that he was shot by “Mizzie Cash,” Lally said.
Investigators say King has an Instagram account with the handle “@MizzieCash617.” He could be scene rapping in one video wearing a “Mizzie” necklace.
Friends of Simmons say he was also an aspiring rapper.
“He was pretty talented with his rap music. He was really good at it,” a friend said. “We would listen to his music. We would be right there encouraging him to keep going with it.”
A car seen by a witness to the shooting was later spotted at King’s home, prosecutors added.
Simmons’ heartbroken family members are now trying to come to grips with their loss and say they’re left wondering why King targeted him.
“They took my baby from me,” said Staci Atkins, Simmons’ mother. “We are all family and they just took that from us.”
Family members described Simmons as loyal and loving, who deeply cared for his family and his girlfriend, Auvonnie Dorsett.
“There’s nothing that will ever bring him back, nothing,” Dorsett said.
They added that Simmons was a contractor who liked to work on cars and scooters, including the one he was riding which he built from scratch.
A motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
Julianna Zobrist, the wife of former Chicago Cubs star Ben Zobrist, is seeking $4 million as she claimed her husband allegedly failed to “preserve marital assets” when he took a leave of absence from the Major League Baseball team in 2019.
In court documents obtained by the Chicago Tribune on Monday, Julianna Zobrist claimed the 2016 World Series MVP “intentionally and voluntarily stopped working” & went from “the top of his game” to “giving up” which affected the household income.
She is reportedly seeking an even split of marital assets & the large sums claiming the figure is the “amount of money he failed to preserve by abruptly & intentionally failing to satisfy his baseball contract.”
Zobrist is estimated to have made about $78.3 million during his 13-year baseball career.
The former MLB player’s attorney, Helen S. Rogers, called the claim “utterly absurd” in a filing to the judge who is set to handle the divorce proceedings. Rogers said that Julianna Zobrist’s alleged affair with former Tennessee pastor Byron Yawn caused the outfielder “extreme mental distress” & added that the singer “coaxed” her husband into returning to the Cubs.
“Rather than accepting blame for having torn her husband’s heart out by having an affair with their pastor, she expected him to be able to totally focus in an elite athletic job that required (100%) of his physical & mental energy,” Rogers wrote in the filing. “It is Mrs. Zobrist, by having the extramarital affair & confessing same to her husband & not disclosing the true extent of her affair, that caused him such extreme mental distress & difficulty that resulted in an inability to finish his long & very successful career in the way that he had hoped for & planned for.”
Divorce proceedings are set to take place on Aug. 9.
The three biggest U.S. drug distribution companies and the drugmaker Johnson & Johnson are on the verge of a $26 billion settlement covering thousands of lawsuits over the toll of opioids across the U.S.
As a precursor to the bigger deal, New York reached an agreement Tuesday with the distribution companies AmerisourceBergen, Cardinal Health and McKesson to settle an ongoing trial in the state. That deal alone would generate more than $1 billion to abate the damage done by opioids there. The trial is expected to continue, but the settlement leaves only three drug manufacturers as defendants.
“Today, we’re holding them accountable delivering more than $1 billion more into New York communities ravaged by opioids for treatment, recovery & prevention efforts,” New York Attorney General Letitia James said in a statement Tuesday.
The national settlement with the four companies is expected to be the biggest single settlement in the complicated universe of litigation over the opioid epidemic in the U.S. It won’t end the cases, but it will change them. With Johnson & Johnson settling in addition to deals being pursued by OxyContin maker Purdue Pharma & generic drugmaker Mallinckrodt, three key manufacturers will no longer be part of the cases, nor will the national drug distributors.
Other manufacturers, regional distribution companies and pharmacies will remain in the cases for now.
Cardinal Health declined to comment early Tuesday, and the other distribution companies did not respond to requests for comment. But Johnson & Johnson reiterated in a statement that it’s prepared to contribute up to $5 billion to the national settlement. The company settled with New York last month just before the trial there started.
“There continues to be progress toward finalizing this agreement and we remain committed to providing certainty for involved parties and critical assistance for families and communities in need,” the company said. “The settlement is not an admission of liability or wrongdoing & the Company will continue to defend against any litigation that the final agreement does not resolve.”

She tells us Joe was literally willing to open his own wallet to whatever Biz's family needed during his hospital stay -- one which was fairly isolated due to COVID-19 regulations that really only allowed Tara to be by her husband's side, day in & day out.
Even now, after his death, Tara says Joe has offered to cover memorial or funeral costs -- however, she's politely turned him down each time, saying they don't need the dough ... but that she appreciates the gesture.
Joe's admiration for & dedication to Biz & his family are a sign of how beloved and respected he was in NYC's hip-hop community & while he's one of the few who went above & beyond.
