Nas grabs the cover for the November issue of XXL. The veteran MC gets interviewed by Odd Future's Tyler, The Creator.
Check out an excerpt from the interview below.
“You, Em, Jay, Snoop, like, you guys all started when you was exactly my age,” Tyler said. “The fact that you guys are still here makes me just always think, like, Fuck, could I?”
“Oh, you definitely can,” Nas replied. “Someone like you is, you’re interesting, for a lot of reasons. So someone like you, you can’t wait to see what’s next.”
And the topics continued to get deeper as the conversation went on.
“Are you, like—this question might catch you off guard, but I ask myself this—like, when you wake up, like, are you happy,” Tyler asked. “Like, are you satisfied how everything turned out?”
“Dawg, I was naming my album Life Is Good because of how happy I am about how happy things have turned out,” Nas answered. “Sometimes I may wake up and wish my kids were living with me. That’s the only thing, you know what I mean? Our loved ones that are not around no more, like my mom. That’s the only thing. But other than that, everything is great, even when I’m alone. Even when there’s no one around.”

Lil Mama has been telling everyone that will listen that Nicki Minaj stole her style. Now she's claiming that if the two of them ever did beef it could have had the same tragic ending as Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G.
"If we decided to go at each other and then somebody ended up dead, everybody in hip-hop would be like, 'Oh my God, it's so sad what happened to them.'" Lil Mama tells XXL. "It's just like what happened with Pac and Biggie. The same people that promote it and it's sad."
However, Lil Mama does admit there is no real animosity between her and Nicki.
"She came to my show... the greeting was beautiful. It was like, 'Hi beautiful, how are you?' you know what I mean. It wasn't like 'Hi,' and then the name calling or screwed up face or anything negative. If someone has something negative to say about you or they don't like you, they wouldn't greet you and say, 'Hello beautiful.'"
What's your opinion on the Biggie/Tupac comparison?

The song appears on Tyrese's upcoming album, 'Open Invitation,' due Nov. 1.

Nicki Minaj has a lot to be thankful for. She has a successful rap career ahead of her, but getting to this point was hard for the Harajuku Barbie.
In a new interview with Cosmopolitan magazine, Nicki reveals the frustration of trying to get her foot in the door of the music business caused her to contemplate suicide.
“I felt like nothing was working. I had moved out on my own, and here I was thinking I’d have to go home. It was one dead end after another," she said. “At one point, I was, like, ‘What would happen if I just didn’t wake up?’ That’s how I felt. Like maybe I should just take my life?”
Now that she's tasted success, Nicki has no plans to let it go. She told Cosmo about her big plans for the future.
“I will have put out five albums and will have an Oscar and Grammys,” she says of her future plans. "And I will be getting married and, a couple of years after that will have a bun in the oven. … My whole life is about being Nicki Minaj now. It’s a never-ending saga,”
