Serial-Killer: “a person who attacks and kills victims one by one in a series of incidents.”  When B-Real, the front-man of the legendary hip hop group Cypress Hill conceptualized his next group effort, he envisioned putting together a team of emcees with the sole purpose of murdering every track and any competition.  The first member he reached out to was fellow West Coast legend Xzibit, known for his brash vocals and hard hitting lyrics.  At the time the two artists were sharing a studio in Los Angeles and were both working with an up and coming emcee by the name of Demrick. With all three members intact the trio went to work on what would be their first project, "Serial Killers Vol. 1".

Chris Brown may get help from a very unlikely source in his Washington, D.C. assault case.

TMZ reports that in official documents from the case a Secret Service Agent in charge of guarding President Obama, was on patrol near the White House when he heard the alleged assault victim tell a D.C. cop that Brown wasn't the person who hit him.

sslogo.gif

The cop later denied being told that information, but the Secret Service agent is sure of what he heard.

12350431298?profile=original

It's potentially a big break for Brown. The singer has maintained all along that the alleged victim was one of two men who tried to board his tour bus and his bodyguard took care of the situation.

If the misdemeanor charges in D.C. are dropped there wouldn't seem to be a reason for Los Angeles authorities to revoke the singer's probation and sentence him to jail time.

Brown has voluntarily checked into an anger management rehab facility in Malibu, California. He will remain there for the next three months.

Radio legend Troi Torain (STAR) always delivers hard-hitting objective truth. As a culture critic he is vicious, as a businessman he is relentless, as a luminary he is un-matched.

Considered a radio pioneer by many, STAR has set precedents on the urban landscape and was recently inducted into News One's "Top 20 Black Radio Jockeys Of All Time."

STAR & BUC WILD made the national stage on MTV (1999) but it was their radio show on New York's Hot 97 and Power 105 (2000 - 2006) that secured their place in Hip-Hop history.

Two of Marvin Gaye's children are suing Robin Thicke claiming his hit "Blurred Lines" is a rip-off of their father's song, "Got to Give It Up."

EMI April, the song's publisher has also been named in the lawsuit. reports Billboard.

According to the counterclaims, EMI has breached a contract and its fiduciary duty by failing to protect Gaye's songs, attempting to intimidate the family against filing any legal action, failing to remain neutral when faced with a conflict of interest and attempting to turn public opinion against the family. The penalty for those acts, says the Gaye family, should be that EMI loses all profits on "Blurred Lines" as well as rights to administer the song catalog of Gaye, known as the "Prince of Soul."

12350423074?profile=original

This legal war started in August when the song's producer, Pharrell Williams, and Thicke filed preemptive lawsuits against Gaye's family and Bridgeport Music.

Bridgeport had accused Thicke of illegally sampling Funkadelic's song "Funky Ways" off of their 1974 album, Standing on the Verge of Getting It On.

12350423858?profile=original

Gaye's family said Thicke and Pharrell had copied the "feel" and "sound" of "Got to Give It Up," which can be found on Marvin's 1977 album, Live at the London Palladium.

12350424454?profile=original

Nona Gaye and Frankie Christian Gaye filed their countersuit today. They point to interviews with GQ and Billboard where Thicke admitted that he told Pharrell he wanted to make a song similar to "Got to Give It Up."

"Pharrell and I were in the studio and I told him that one of my favorite songs of all time was Marvin Gaye's "Got to Give It Up." I was like, 'Damn, we should make something like that, something with that groove.' Then he started playing a little something and we literally wrote the song in about a half hour and recorded it. The whole thing was done in a couple hours—normally, those are the best ones. Him and I would go back and forth where I'd sing a line and he'd be like, 'Hey, hey, hey!' We started acting like we were two old men on a porch hollering at girls like, 'Hey, where you going, girl? Come over here!' That's why, in the video, we're doing all these old men dances. It was great," Thicke told GQ

In a later interview with TMZ, Robin completely changed his tune and said Gaye's song wasn't the inspiration for "Blurred Lines."

robin-thicke-million-uk1.jpeg

Nona and Frankie presented an expert report by musicologist, Judith Finell, who identified "at least eight substantially similar compositional features" with Gaye's song.

The Gaye family also contends that Robin's song "Love After War" is a copy of the Marvin's hit, "After the Dance."

12350424078?profile=original

EMI is the co-publisher of Pharrell and co-owns "Blurred Lines." They also are administrators for Gaye's "Got to Give It Up" and "After the Dance." Marvin's family says they trusted EMI to protect those copyrights. They feel that EMI didn't do that due to a conflict of interest.

"Not only did EMI fail to bring this action, which is necessary to carry out EMI’s duties to protect the Gaye Family’s copyrights," says the countersuit, "EMI attempted to dissuade the Gaye Family from pursuing this action by repeated threats and tactics to intimidate the Gaye Family and its representatives."

Listen to "Blurred Lines" and "Got to Give It Up" below and let us know if you think Pharrell and Thicke ripped ripped Gaye off.

Bryan Sweatt

Video And Pics After The Jump

GREENWOOD, SC (FOX Carolina

The gunman in the horrific shooting at a Greenwood County home posted on Facebook that he was "about to lose it" just days before the incident.

In a posting on Oct. 9, Bryan Sweatt, 27, wrote "...i just want someone to talk to and be here with me so bad im just about to get in the truck and ram it in the biggest...pole i can find nobody gives a **** about me..."

He went on to say "ive ask for someone to be here for me to take my mind off doing something stupid to hurt myself..."

In a post dated Oct. 20, just nine days before the shooting, Sweatt wrote about his ongoing legal problems. "i hope tha best but i no im gone for a long time i just hope this judge dont slap me with a whole 45years..." Sweatt wrote.

Sweatt was most recently arrested for burglary in the early part of 2013 and he was facing a significant amount of time in prison, according to the sheriff.

911 Call

Deputies said Sweatt killed three adults and two children along with himself in a murder-suicide at a home off Callison Highway Tuesday. They said Sweatt called 911 to warn them he was planning on "hurting himself" moments before shots were fired.

Chandra Fields

While officers were on the way to the scene, according to Greenwood County sheriff's spokesperson John Long, they received notice from the 911 center that a neighbor called and said two children from the home arrived at the neighbor's doorstep saying someone had fired shots.

After several unsuccessful attempts to communicate with the caller, SWAT teams went into the home and discovered the six dead. Long said they believe the incident resulted from a domestic dispute.

Richard Fields

Deputies received a call from a man inside the home who said he intended to harm the individuals in the home. Initially, there were reports that the situation at the home at 2007 Callison Hwy. was a standoff, but the sheriff denied those reports.

12350434077?profile=original

Davis said at a press conference on Wednesday that the victims were Richard Allen Fields, 51; Melissa Maroney Fields, 49; Chandra Marie Fields, 26; Tariq Kenyon Robinson, 11; and William Asa Robinson, 9.

The sheriff said Sweatt and Chandra Fields had a 7-month-old baby. Sweatt had an issue with his lack of access to the child, according to the sheriff.

Richard Fields and Melissa Fields were the parents of Chandra Fields, the sheriff confirmed. He also said, William and Tariq were nephews of Chandra Fields.

Two other children were in the house at the time of the shooting, the sheriff said. He said they were let go and went to the neighbor's house.

The sheriff said Sweatt used a "large caliber handgun."

"I've been in law enforcement in Greenwood since 1975 and to my knowledge this is the first [situation] that I responded to with this many deceased," said Davis.

Bryan Sweatt's cousin issued a statement via Facebook early Wednesday evening about the incident. "We love him and miss him very much and we are sorry for what happened," part of the statement read.

SLED crime scene units were called to the scene to assist
