Audio After The Jump

Charlamagne Tha God didn't appreciate Birdman going in on The Breakfast Club crew during what was supposed to be an interview on Friday, April 22.

As we previously reported, Baby demanded that DJ Envy, Angela Yee and Charlamagne give him the respect he feels he deserves when his name is brought up, before walking out after just a few minutes.

Shortly afterwards, Charlamagne, gave his opinion on what had transpired during a segment on Power 105.1.

12352120301?profile=original

"That was some sucker stuff," CTG said. "I have no problem with the confrontation. Confrontations ain't never scared me in no way, shape or form. Anything I said about you on the radio. I'ma say it to your face. But I always say you can never tell somebody how to react, so I can't say the way he reacted was wrong. I just don't respect it. 'Cause if you got a issue, lets talk about the issue. Don't come in here with seven dudes trying to intimidate people. 'Cause you ain't pull up on [Rick] Ross like that. You ain't pull up on Trick [Daddy] like that. Don't pull up on the radio guys acting tough."

Check out Charlamagne's full response below. https://youtu.be/XC9D1v0UAJ8.

Six days before his death on Thursday, April 21, Prince's private jet had to make an emergency medical landing in Moline, Illinois. TMZ reports that he'd overdosed on the pain relief drug Percocet and had to be administered a "save shot" by medical personnel at the airport.

The 57-year old music legend had been taking the medication to alleviate pain in his hips following 2010 corrective surgery on them.

He was hospitalized and advised by doctors to stay for at least 24 hours, but Prince and his team made the decision to leave after only three hours because there were no private rooms available, according to TMZ.

The "Purple Rain" hit maker flew home that night. His reps initially said he was suffering from the flu.

12352116272?profile=original

The Associated Press reports that an autopsy to determine Prince's cause of death is being conducted Friday, April 22. It could take days or even weeks before results are publicly released.

Video After The Jump

Birdman was in no mood to play when he stopped by The Breakfast Club to talk with Charlamagne Tha God, DJ Envy and Angela Yee.

The Cash Money Records co-owner went on the offensive right off the bat, telling the hosts to stop disparaging his name.

"Im gon' start this shit off straight, telling all three of y'all stop playing with my name," Baby began before even sitting down. "Stop playing with my fucking name. Stop playing with my name. I ain't gon' say it again. Nigga, when my name come up respect it."

"Get it off your chest Birdman," Charlamagne says. "'Cause I don't understand the angle"

"I said it already. I ain't gotta talk no more," the business mogul responded.

"So why come here?" Charlamagne asks.

"I did it already. I'm here so what's happening?" an increasingly agitated Birdman shot back.

Charlamagne continued to press the issue. "I'm all good, but why come here just to curse us out?"

"I wanted to see you. I wanted to talk to you as a man in your face," Baby responded. "I knew a few places you was at. I could have pulled up, but I don't think that was gangster. I wanted to come look you in your face like a man and tell you how I feel."

"So what's the issue?" Charlamagne quizzed.

"It ain't no issue," Birdman told him. "If it was a issue you'd feel me. I just come to let y'all know, put some respect on my name. You understand me? When y'all saying my name put some respect on it."

Charlamagne then got a little bolder "Did you pull up on Ross that way or Trick Daddy?"

"I'm pulling up on you, nigga," the leader of the Rich Gang told him.

"But I'm the radio guy," said Charlamagne. "Don't act tough with the radio guy."

"Hey, my nigga ... y'all finished or ya'll done? I ain't got no more talking,' Baby said before walking out on the interview.

Well double damn! Watch on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7VJDJjJHP0

**UPDATE**

And then there were two.

Baby apparently doesn't have an issue with DJ Envy. TMZ reports that the Cash Money boss reached out to the Power 105.1 radio personality to apologize for including him in this morning's beef with The Breakfast Club.

12352114493?profile=original

Count DJ Envy out of the Birdman beef

Do you think Angela Yee and Charlamagne Tha God will also get a conciliatory call from Birdman?

Video After The Jump

(AP) UFC fans, rejoice. Conor McGregor is not retired.

He's even willing to resume his spot in the main event at UFC 200.

The mixed martial arts superstar is simply fed up with the grueling promotional demands that come with being a pay-per-view star. The 27-year-old fighter known for his over the top personality says "I can not dance for you this time."

McGregor posted on Facebook Thursday that he needed to focus on himself and not the massive hype that accompanies his mega-fights.

"I have become lost in the game of promotion and forgot about the art of fighting," McGregor said in the nearly 650-word statement also posted to Twitter, instantly drawing thousands of shares, retweets and comments from fans.

"For USADA and for the UFC and my contract stipulations — I AM NOT RETIRED," McGregor said. McGregor, at times profane and critical of interviews he saw as pointless, said the "many distractions" led to errors in preparing for his last fight, specifically with cardio and weight.

McGregor has been training for a rematch against Nate Diaz at UFC 200 in July. He lost to Diaz in March, ending a 15-fight winning streak in which he surprised many fans by fighting 25 pounds above his usual weight of 145 pounds, where he holds a title belt. The rematch was set to be fought at 170 pounds.

12352110462?profile=original

McGregor stirred fans this week with a tweet saying he had decided to retire young. That prompted UFC President Dana White to respond by saying McGregor had been pulled from UFC 200 because of the dispute over promotional appearances. White said McGregor was refusing to travel to Las Vegas for promotions ahead of another UFC card this weekend.

McGregor says he's still ready to fight at UFC 200.

"I'm doing what I need for me now. It is time to be selfish with my training again. It is the only way," he said. "I feel the $400 million I have generated for the company in my last three events, all inside 8 months, is enough to get me this slight leeway."

12352110857?profile=original

McGregor said UFC denied a request for a decreased promotional push and he wrote he would still be willing to attend a scheduled press conference in New York.

"I did not shut down all media requests. I simply wanted a slight adjustment," he said.

UFC said President Dana White would not comment until a scheduled press conference Friday in Las Vegas.

McGregor's coach, John Kavanagh, tweeted Thursday his fighter "rose again."

"Ur call now. You are the customers. What do you want? Press conferences or fights? Make some noise because we're ready to do the damn thing!" he tweeted.

White said this week he was working on a new UFC 200 main event and could keep Diaz on the card. The stacked card already included an interim featherweight championship bout between Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar and Miesha Tate defends her bantamweight title against Amanda Nunes.

12352111067?profile=original

McGregor, who sits alongside Ronda Rousey as the UFC's biggest pay-per-view stars, is still the featherweight champion. Aldo and Edgar will meet for the interim belt and the winner was scheduled to get the first shot at a unification fight against McGregor.

12352111092?profile=original

McGregor added to his aura when he knocked out Aldo in 13 seconds at UFC 194 in December.

He now seems primed to return to the cage where he can talk trash to his rivals, not about the fight in front of scores of microphones.

"It is time for the other monkeys to dance," McGregor said. "I've danced us all the way here. Nate's little mush head looks good up on that stage these days. Stuff him in front of the camera for it."

UFC fighter Eddie Alvarez wrote on Twitter that McGregor had "good insight on how an empire rises and then falls."

Alvarez said McGregor's stand sets a precedent for future stars if UFC caves to his demands.

"Short term gain $$$ Long term disaster," Alvarez tweeted. "Let's see what happens."

Read Conor's Full Statement Below:

I am just trying to do my job and fight here.

I am paid to fight. I am not yet paid to promote.

I have become lost in the game of promotion and forgot about the art of fighting.
There comes a time when you need to stop handing out flyers and get back to the damn shop.

50 world tours, 200 press conferences, 1 million interviews, 2 million photo shoots, and at the end of it all I'm left looking down the barrel of a lens, staring defeat in the face, thinking of nothing but my incorrect fight preparation. And the many distractions that led to this.

Nothing else was going through my mind.

It is time to go back and live the life that got me this life.

Sitting in a car on the way to some dump in Conneticut or somewhere, to speak to Tim and Suzie on the nobody gives a fuck morning show did not get me this life.
Talking to some lady that deep down doesn't give a fuck about what I'm doing, but just wants some sound bites so she can maybe get her little tight ass a nice raise, and I'm cool with that too, I've been giving you all raises. But I need to focus on me now.

I'm coming for my revenge here.

I flew an entire team to Portugal and to Iceland to make my adjustments in preparation and fix my errors I made with the weight and the cardio prep.
With the right adjustments and the right focus, I will finish what I started in that last fight.

I will not do this if I am back on the road handing out flyers again.

I will always play the game and play it better than anybody, but just for this one, where I am coming off a loss, I asked for some leeway where I can just train and focus. I did not shut down all media requests. I simply wanted a slight adjustment.
But it was denied.

There had been 10 million dollars allocated for the promotion of this event is what they told me.

So as a gesture of good will, I went and not only saved that 10 million dollars in promotion money, I then went and tripled it for them.

And all with one tweet.

Keep that 10 mill to promote the other bums that need it. My shows are good.
I must isolate myself now.

I am facing a taller, longer and heavier man. I need to prepare correctly this time.
I can not dance for you this time.

It is time for the other monkeys to dance. I've danced us all the way here.
Nate's little mush head looks good up on that stage these days. Stuff him in front of the camera for it.

He came in with no shit to do that last one. I'd already done press conferences, interviews and shot the ads before RDA pulled out.

Maybe I'll hit Cabo this time and skull some shots pre-fight with no obligation.
I'm doing what I need for me now.

It is time to be selfish with my training again. It is the only way.

I feel the $400million I have generated for the company in my last three events, all inside 8 months, is enough to get me this slight leeway.

I am still ready to go for UFC 200.

I will offer, like I already did, to fly to New York for the big press conference that was scheduled, and then I will go back into training. With no distractions.

If this is not enough or they feel I have not deserved to sit this promotion run out this one time, well then I don't know what to say.

For the record also -
For USADA and for the UFC and my contract stipulations -
I AM NOT RETIRED.

Video After The Jump

MTV unearthed a 1992 interview they had with Tupac Shakur in which he talked about wealthy Americans like Donald Trump who give very little, if anything back to those in need, no matter their race.

"I feel like it's too much money here. Nobody should be hitting the lotto for $36 million and there's people starving in the streets. That is not idealistic, that's just real," 2Pac said. "There's no way Michael Jackson ... or whatever Jackson should have (massive wealth) and then there's people starving. There's no way that these people should have planes and these {other) people don't have houses, apartments, shacks, drawers, pants."

"What do you say to people that say, 'Well. they earned it ... now you go out and earn yours,'" the interviewer asks.

12352094475?profile=original

"If they earned it then I think that that's good and I think that they deserve it. Even if if you earned it you still owe," Shakur responds. "Look at me, I don't have that mega-money, but I feel guilty walking by somebody [in need]. I gotta give 'em some mail. And if I know I got $3000 in my pocket, I feel like it's wrong to give that person a quarter or a dollar. It's wrong. Only you know what you got in your pocket. No matter what they do. If they take it and drink it, they take it and drink it. But, I mean you got," he continued. "We all know how hard it is and it's not about if you're good or you're bad. Sense it's not about if you're good or you're bad. Just because he don't got doesn't mean he was bad. Or don't mean that he's a criminal. It don't mean he's crazy or a drug addict, or none of that. It just means he don't got. Can you imagine somebody having $32 million and this person has nothing. And you can sleep?"

Love him or hate him, Charles Barkley, has no filter and always says what's on his mind.

During Tuesday’s edition of “Inside the NBA,” Ernie Johnson started a conversation about changes in the NBA that will allow the logos of companies to be placed on jerseys next season.

Johnson remembered that someone suggested the men's hair growth product Rogaine as a sponsor, but wasn't sure who.

"That was me, Ernie," Barkley said while a picture of LeBron James was on the screen to illustrate where the logos would be on jerseys.

12352121082?profile=original

"So you're owning that? LeBron, that's him," Kenny Smith responded.

“You think he don’t know he’s going bald?” Barkley asked. “I’m trying to save him so he can stop wasting all his money on paint.”

12352121891?profile=original

I don't think James is going to appreciate Barkley's comments, but this was pretty damn funny.

Check out the pure comedy in the video below starting at the 26 second mark.
