50 Cent sat down Andrea Chang of the L.A. Times while at CES 2012 to talk about his new SMS Audio headphone line and to find out if 50 considered himself a direct competitor to Dr. Dre's Beats By Dre.
Check out their Q and A below.
There are ear buds and headphones that were already on the market. You weren't satisfied. If you were satisfied you wouldn't have made your own product is that right? So tell me about some of the problems that you had with the existing products.
My headsets were breaking for one, that's why I was conscious of durability. And I don't see myself in direct competition with Dre.
Why?
I see myself in competition with all of the audio companies because the category is so big why would I just pinpoint Dre? People are conscious of it because of how close we are in relation. I understand it--in hip hop culture there's always the competitive nature in how we compete for different things they think that's what's actually going on, but it's not really.
Have you talked to Dre after you decided to come out with your own headphones?
I did following it, but it wasn't about headsets because it wasn't really on his radar like that. He was so happy because they just sold Beats. You get a $300 million dollar check you're pretty happy (laughs).
So no bad blood then between you guys kind of competing in the same space?
Nah, I don't think so.

Things got very emotional for Amber Rose when she appeared on MTV's RapFix Live yesterday [January 11). Sway was asking if all the talk about her ex Kanye West bothered her current boyfriend Wiz Khalifa when she broke down.
"Wiz knows that I've never loved a man the way I love him. He knows that, he's very secure with that," Amber said. "He knows that know matter what I would never go back to that. and he also knows that I haven't talked in so long--so nobody really knows my side of the story. No-one knows what I've been through. The things that I've had to deal with when Kanye made his album. And he talked reckless about me on his album. And them I have people throwing things at me in the street because they're fans of Kanye's."
There was a long pause as Amber tried to compose herself. Sway tried to make her feel more at ease by telling her to take her time, but by that point the tears were starting to flow.
"I'm just crying because I don't deserve to bullied like that," she said. "I'm a nice girl, I don't bother anybody. And I keep my mouth shut because I don't want any trouble. But to be bullied through music and through stuff like that it's not fair to me. I don't deserve that."

The FBI has made public a 94-page file on late Wu Tang Clan member Ol' Dirty Bastard. The file claims that ODB and other Wu Tang Clan members were involved in various crimes ranging from drug dealing, murder, illegal guns, weapons possession and car jacking in the 80's and 90's.
In a post dated January 8, 2012, Rich Jones of the GUN.IO blog says he obtained the files from the FBI under the Freedom Of Information Act.
"One of my hobbies is liberating government documents using Freedom of Information Act requests," Jones writes. "The FBI's FOIA policy allows you to get the file of anybody who is deceased, so I filed a request to get all documents mentioning Russell Tyreese Jones, aka Ol' Dirty Bastard, aka ODB, aka Big Baby Jesus, member of the Wu-Tang Clan hip hop collective, who died in 2004 of an accidental drug overdose, a lethal mixture of cocaine and the prescription drug Tramadol, a synthetic opiate. The FBI responded with 94 pages of police reports, court proceedings and news clippings, which cover an assortment of crimes perpetrated by and against ODB."
The documents indicate that Bloods gang members were used in some instances as enforcers for the Clan.
Robert "Pooh" Johnson, a one time Wu Tang Clan affiliate was murdered on Staten, Island New York on December 30, 1997 with a gun that was allegedly illegally purchased in Stubenville, Ohio by someone associated with the Wu Tang Clan. According to the FBI file, Johnson's unsolved murder was ordered by someone within the Wu Tang Clan.
Affiliates that demonstrated loyalty and proved to be trustworthy were given recording contracts.
According to these papers, ODB was arrested more than 15 times on charges that ranged from resisting arrest to injuring a child, as well as assault, the attempted murder of a police officer, refusing to pay child support and being a felon in illegal possession of body armor.
ODB was himself the victim on violent crimes.
He was shot in the stomach in 1994 following an argument with another rapper. And in July 1998, ODB was shot in the back while being robbed of money and jewelry at an apartment in Brooklyn. The bullet entered his back and exited through an arm. He left the hospital nine hours later, before being cleared by doctors at St. John's Hospital in New York.
Several weeks after the 1998 shooting a man was shot to death in Ohio, and ODB was pulled over nearby. Police found guns in his car but he was never charged with the crime.
On January 15, 1999, OBD was involved in a shootout with New York City police.

Blue Ivy Carter is not even a week old and already she's made history by becoming the youngest person to appear on the Billboard charts.
Jay-Z featured Blue Ivy's first cries at the end of "Glory," a song he recorded and released just a couple of days after Beyonce gave birth.
Officially billed as "featuring B.I.C.," an abbreviation of Blue Ivy Carter -- "Glory" enters Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop Songs at No. 74.
According to Billboard the song is Jay's 107th entry on the charts. The number is significant because it mirrors Blue Ivy's birth date of 1/07.
Little Blue sure knows how to make a grand entrance.
Billboard also explains why Stevie Wonder's "Isn't She Lovely" didn't get the distinction first.
Taking a page out of Stevie Wonder's proverbial book on how to be a sentimental musical dad, Jay-Z recorded his precious girl's first seconds of life -- her breathing, cries and coos -- just as Wonder did on his iconic song "Isn't She Lovely," written for his then-newborn daughter Aisha.
Why does B.I.C. claim the mark for youngest charted artist and not Wonder's girl? Two reasons: young Aisha was never officially credited on "Lovely" and the song did not reach a Billboard chart until Jan. 29, 1977 (when it entered Adult Contemporary at its No. 23 peak), almost two years after she was born.

Kanye West might want to tighten up his security because he's got one super crazy fan on the loose.
A video recently surfaced of a woman who had tatted Yeezy's name across her butt. In the video she explained it's something she's always wanted to do.
"I put Kanye’s name on my a$$ because this is something I wanted to do a while back," she says in the clip. "I put him on my arm a year ago. And I did it because that's all I think about is Kanye. I wanted him on my a$$ because I already live my life where that's his a$$. So, I might as well put it there. Now I don't care if you don't sleep good at night...if you sing all of your tunes for him because you love him so much. He's mine OK."
Not satisfied with putting his name all over her body, this woman has taken it a step further by legally changing her name from Linda Resa (she wouldn't reveal her former last name) to Kanye Resa West.
DJ MoonDawg of Chicago radio station WGCI invited Ms. West up to the station to find out out just what the hell is going on in her head.

Last month Waka Flocka dissed Wiz Khalifa for having "no swag" and "hyping" his way to the top. Wiz has steered clear of starting a war of words with Waka, but yesterday Snoop Dogg came to his defense.
"I'mma holla at Waka Flocka. That's where big Uncle Snoop come in at, 'cause we ain't about that negativity and none of that beef. We too old for that," he said on Big Boy's Neighborhood radio show. "I'ma snatch him up by the collar and say, 'Look here, partna. You got somethin' to say to Wiz, get at him personally.' We peaceful. We on nothing but peace right now. We'll get it right."
Snoop and Wiz have become good friends since filming the movie Mac and Devin Go to High School and recording it's soundtrack together.
"This is my guy right here," Snoop added. "I love Wiz 'cause he got the right spirit that Hip Hop needs. Too much negativity in the industry that always overwhelms his kind of spirit, and I'm here to let people know that this is the right kind of spirit to be moving with because it's gonna be here for a long time"

Drake and producer producer Noah "40" Shebib work very well together. The two have carved out a sound that has obviously been very successful. That success has led to competition and comparisons to other rappers and producers.
Drake is involved in an all out battle with G.O.O.D. Music affiliate Common. Current G.O.O.D. Music artist Pusha T is perceived to be taking shots at Drake on his recent "Don't F*ck With Me" and "Sweet" freestyles and 40 told Vibe in their August/September 2010 issue that Kanye West once cursed him out for "borrowing" his sound.
"There are more similarities between me and Ye on 808s and So Far Gone than to Thank Me Later," 40 said at the time. "Ye cussed me out one day about jacking his sound. '40 I don't think you should be in the studio right now because you might just hear my new sh*t and subconsciously steal my new sh*t and it wouldn't even be your fault.' I can't even be mad at him because the last CD I listened to was 808s & Heartbreak before I started doing So Far Gone. I swear to God I haven't listened to a CD since other than Erykah Badu's new album which I love. That's it. I try not to listen to too much music because I don't want to be subconsciously influenced and he's 100% right about that."
In a new interview with MTV, 40 insists there is no problem or competition between himself and the Louis Vuitton Don despite any past issues.
"He's a huge influence to me. I look up to that guy like crazy. I always have and I always will. To ever suggest something like that I think is way out of line," 40 said. "That's someone who's carved out a sound for rap music a couple of times, who has really influenced and changed the game as an individual. It would be crazy to say there's competition. I'm grateful to any and everybody that's ever influenced me, including Mr. West."

Vinson Hardimon aka Young Vito, will remain in Atlanta's Fulton County Jail on murder and gun possession charges following a court appearance Tuesday (January 10).
Detective David Quinn told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that he's gotten witnesses to come forward in the case.
“I put up the testimony of two witnesses,” he said, referring to Tuesday's hearing. Quinn added that Young Vito left behind evidence at the scene of the crime.
“His laptop was left behind with his name on it,” Quinn said. “And his name was on the dry-erase board as next up to rap.”
