David Banner & Prod.Deezle sue “The Carter Documentary” maker, QD3.

The latest lawsuit filed in connection to Lil Wayne, comes from none other than David Banner. The Mississippi MC/producer is suing the maker of the infamous “The Carter” documentary, Quincy Jones III better known as QD3. According to Courthouse News, Banner, real name Lavell Crump, producer Darius “Deezle” Harrison and The Royalty Network Inc. filed a lawsuit in New York Southern District Court Thursday claiming copyright infringement against Jones. CN reports that in the lawsuit, QD3 used two of Banner’s songs in the documentary without his permission; “La La” from Tha Carter III and “Pussy Monster”, a track added to Tha Carter III after “Playing With Fire” was removed due to previous litgation. Courthouse News also reports that named in the lawsuit is Virgil Films and Entertainment, LLC, the distribution company for the documentary. As previously reported Wayne tried to block the release of the documentary claiming that it was “scandalous” for showing his rampant drug use. That request was denied however by an L.A. superior court judge and QD3 was allowed to release it.

Lil Wayne Scan & Quote From Ozone Magazine.

“Pistol on my neck, you don’t wanna hear that thing talk!”

Check out a new photo of Lil Wayne from the latest issue of Ozone Magazine, which is in stores now! You can also read what he tells Ozone in their sex issue about why he is a great Father to his kids:

“I’m not on child support with none of my kids cause I’m a great father. So it’s not determined by how much money you’re paying at all. That’s not what it’s about. It’s about being there and being that important person in their lives. It’s about being #1 or #2 in their life. That’s very important for your child, to make sure you’re that #1 or #2. Because if you’re not, you know what #1 or #2 could end up being. That’s the most important thing of all. I just try to make sure I’m of the highest importance in their lives, next to their moms.” Ozone

Lil Wayne & Producers get sued for Tha Carter III single, “Lollipop”again.

Young Money CEO, Lil Wayne has been slapped with yet another lawsuit surrounding his 2008 hit Hip Hop music single “Lollipop“. Philadelphia rapper Dirahn Gilliams filed a lawsuit in the United States District Court Eastern District of Pennsylvania on Friday April 30th for Work ID: 371875615 which is listed with ASCAP. Gilliams is claiming that the song “Lollipop” was based on his 2007 song “Grindin’ Like a Goon”. Lil Wayne, producer Darius “Deezle” Harrison, James “Jim Jonsin” Scheffer, Rex Zamor, Cash Money, Young Money and Universal have all been named in the lawsuit. In April 2007, Gilliams sent out a copy of his song to Flo Rida, Brisco, executive Kevon Glickmon, and producers Deezle and Jim Jonsin claiming Young Money received the copy from one of these entities though Flo Rida and Glickman were not mentioned in the lawsuit. Gilliams is accusing Wayne and Jim Jonsin for illegally using portions of his song for “Lollipop” in 2008. Jonsin and Deezle are both suing Lil Wayne as well, making the situation more complicated. Gilliams is seeking to prevent further sales of Tha Carter III and “Lollipop“, not counting monetary damages, lost profits, actual damages, restitution and compensatory and punitive damages that he is suing for.

Sometimes when an artist has begun to lose his/her way and his/her album releases aren't being received by the listeners as well as they used to be, it might be time to start from scratch and reestablish a foundation.

With Raekwon dropping Only Built 4 Cuban Linx Pt. 2 and Capone-N-Noreaga getting ready to deliver The War Report II, sequels are slowly beginning to become a trend as it sets the challenge to be better than the original.

In the process of rebuilding from the downfall after 2006s Rotten Apple, Lloyd Banks has begun to reintroduce himself and recently made the announcement that he will be dropping The Hunger For More 2.

Lloydbanks HFM2!!! Coming soon!!!

Still riding on the heels of “Beamer, Benz, or Bentley” and the building success from the smash single, Banks looks as though he will be stepping outside of 50 Cent's shadow and leading a new movement for himself and the G-Unit camp.

Unfortunately, the rumored album is still without a release date, but the rapper has assured the fans that his return will come over the summer.

Pitting himself against other big contenders like Jeezy and T.I., in regards to album releases, the Punchline King must have something up his sleeve when he finally steps back into the arena

(Bloomberg) -- Prosecutors have recommended that the Washington Wizards’ Gilbert Arenas receive a three-month prison sentence for a felony gun conviction.

Arenas, who is scheduled to be sentenced March 26, also would receive three years probation and 300 hours of community service if District of Columbia Superior Court Judge Robert E. Morin agrees with recommendations requested in the sentencing memo filed today by prosecutors.

The 28-year-old Arenas pleaded guilty Jan. 15 to carrying a handgun without a license. As part of a plea agreement, prosecutors said they would not ask for more than six months in jail. Morin is not bound by the accord.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Christopher Kavanaugh said in the memo that the government’s recommendation was based on evidence that contradicts Arenas’s claims about when and why he had the weapons in the team’s Verizon Center locker room, and that Arenas repeatedly minimized his culpability.

The defendant’s conduct since the time of the incident establishes that he has shown little genuine remorse for anything other than how this incident may affect his career,” the memo said.

The defense’s sentencing memo said attention to the high-profile case had “led to the development of a caricature that bears little resemblance” to Arenas.

He is a genuinely caring person, he has long devoted himself to serving the community and others, and despite a history of pranks and misguided practical jokes, he is a peaceful man who is not aggressive or confrontational in any way,” said the memo prepared by defense attorney Kenneth Wainstein.

Locker Room Confrontation

The case began with an argument over money that teammate Javaris Crittenton lost to Arenas in a card game on a Dec. 19 team flight from Phoenix and led to both players displaying weapons in the locker room. Both players were suspended for the rest of the National Basketball Association season on Jan. 27.

Sean Garrett Raises the Bar for Drake

Rap-UpNews

“I think he’s going to make his fans really happy,” Sean Garrett says about one of the most anticipated albums of the year. Thesinger-songwriter is of course speaking about Drake’s debut Thank MeLater.

Garrett reveals to Rap-Up.com that he has been in the studio with hip-hop’s breakout star. “I’m working on some stuff for his album,” heshares. “I heard some shit and it’s hot as fuck.”

With such great expectations for the spring release, how did “The Pen” approach the project? “When you’re dealing with somebody like him,you wanna come hard, you wanna come so ridiculous, you wanna come in adirection that no one, including him, had any idea that you would come,”he explains. “It makes it really difficult. There’s only so far youcan go with your résumé sometimes. It’s all about what you did today,so you’re always trying to outdo yourself.”

S. Dot is making sure the “Best I Ever Had” MC only gets his best. “At this point it’s just about coming up with that masterful record thatI will probably keep for myself but I’mma give it to him. It’s gottabe hot enough for me to say, ‘Damn, should I give this away?’”

Drizzy knows when to have fun, but when he’s in the lab, he’s all about his business. “He tends to like to have fun. He’s enjoying themoment. When he’s out, he’s always smiling and happy, and real giddyabout meeting the fans—just being a real people’s person. But when he’sin the studio, he seems to be very, very focused on what it is he’strying to accomplish.”

The first collaboration between the two will be an upcoming single from Garrett’s U.S. debut. “It’s a mid-tempo and it’s about love,” hesays of the track. “We both like to talk about love in our ownparticular way, and that’s the reason why I felt like he was perfect forthat record. I think a lot of ladies are gonna love this record.”

Bun B Leaves Asylum/Warner Bros for Universal

Looks like fans are going to have to wait a couple more months for Bun B’s new album Trill O.G. to hit stores. The Southern rap vet recently told XXLMag.com that he’s switching label homes.

We’re gonna be moving from the Warner Bros. system to the Universal system,” he told XXL.

The UGK rapper will now be going through Fontana, which is a subsidiary of the Universal Music Group. “[This new situation] works better for me,” Bun continued. “I work better in the small system. When you’re in the big system it’s really about breaking you and exposing you and I think I’ve been able to build a career as far as just associating myself. We’re pretty good with that in-house with Rap-A-Lot. But with Universal we are gonna use their distribution legs and promotional chain, because they do have access that we haven’t been able to have before.”

When asked why he left Asylum, Bun had this to say, “[Asylum] helped me immensely over the last four or five years in my career as far as taking, me, myself and UGK to another level. It’s just that the system in house changed. Todd [Moskowitz] got moved up to a higher position and it doesn’t give me as much of an opportunity to be hand on hand on a lot of stuff.”

The Port Arthur, Texas rep has already recorded a lot of material for the follow-up to 2008’s II Trill, including tracks with Drake, Jamie Foxx, Young Jeezy, Trey Songz and DJ Premier, among others. Yet, now as he awaits the paperwork to be finalized, he can work on more music for his upcoming disc.

It gives me time to work with people that I thought I was gonna miss, like Pharrell,” he shared. “Pharrell and I have been trying to get together for this album but we’ve been having scheduling conflicts, which actually just opened up a nice window for us to record. And it also gives me a chance to finish up recording with Premier. We was supposed to do two, but I only got one done. We were worried we weren’t gonna get the second one done but we got time to get that done. It’s also given me another chance to do another one with Drake and fine tune that whole situation.”

There was one collaboration that Bun remained tight lipped about but promised it would turn a lot of heads. “I got a song that’s just kinda crazy,” he said. “All I can tell you is that it’s a legendary song; literally it’s three legends on this song. Two of them is hip-hop and one of them is a cultural icon.”

As of press time Bun hopes to drop Trill O.G. in May.

Naomi Campbell is still the talk of New York's Fashion Week following her Fashion for Relief event that helped benefit earthquake-damaged Haiti. The gala featured fashion from the world's top designers and paid tribute to the late Alexander McQueen. PopEater had backstage access and met with Chris Brown, Victoria Beckham, Kelly Osbourne and Campbell to talk about their participation in the sold out event at Bryant Park.

All proceeds from the show go to help build up the health care system in Haiti for suffering mothers and children, Campbell tells PopEater. "I'm grateful to be able to continue raising awareness & funds to benefit the mothers and babies in Haiti... I encourage everyone to please log-on and continue donating towards this urgent cause."

Backstage stylist Rachel Zoe pulled together 92 looks for the evening's event. "When Naomi Campbell calls you and wants you to style a show for her, you do it. You don't think about it," Zoe tells PopEater.

Duchess Sarah Ferguson kicked off the evening and told the audience that "tonight we can save lives in Haiti because of you." As the fashion show kicked into high gear, both celebrities and models shared the catwalk. Brown, Osbourne, Malin Ackerman, Alan Cumming and Estelle put their best foot forward and avoided any runway disasters.

The show's highlight was the final tribute to fashion designer McQueen. As the lights dimmed, a very Lady Gaga inspired Daphne Guiness hit the runway wearing a shimmery body suit. Her face was covered in white gauze. Models started hitting the runway first in one of McQueen's Spring 2010 dresses and then to his memorable fashion from other seasons. All the models, including Naomi Campbell posed at the front of the catwalk before walking back hand-in-hand.

Sitting in the second row,'American's Next Top Model' stylist Jay Manuel had an emotional reaction to the tribute. "Coming through the back, it was really emotional when I passed the rack of McQueen clothing," he tells PopEater. "I've been wearing McQueen all week in memory of him. I didn't realize it was going to affect me... Coming here and seeing his clothes backstage, it saddened me."

The event also raised money for CARE, a charity focused on rebuilding Haiti's healthcare system for mothers and children. The show, which was made available to the public, sold out in less than four days with tickets ranging from $100 to $150.

All clothing modeled at the show, which included donations by major designers from Dolce&Gabbna to Zac Posen, will be sold on Net-a-porter.com starting March 15. According to the Wall Street Journal, the event raised more than $100,000 in ticket sales for Haiti. Want to help out? Send some love and money over to CARE.

NBA commissioner David Stern suspended Washington Wizards guards Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton for the remainder of the NBA season Wednesday, and ESPN.com learned that Arenas has agreed not to appeal the punishment. Stern's disciplinary actions were announced Wednesday afternoon after Arenas met face-to-face with Stern for the first time since the gun incident that put Arenas' future with the Wizards in doubt. The Washington Post first reported the length of the Arenas suspension, and a source with knowledge of the meeting told ESPN.com that Arenas told Stern that he expects and deserves to be suspended for the rest of the season, which was believed to be the punishment Stern favored. It was unclear whether Crittenton also would decline to file an appeal. "The NBA has conducted a thorough investigation of events relating to this matter," Stern said. "It is not disputed that, following an argument on the team's flight home from a game in Phoenix, both Mr. Arenas and Mr. Crittenton brought guns to the Verizon Center locker room and -- with other players and team personnel present or nearby -- displayed them to one another in a continuation of their dispute. The players engaged in this conduct despite a specific rule set forth in the collective bargaining agreement between the NBA and the Players Association prohibiting players from possessing a weapon at an NBA facility, and reminders of this prohibition given annually by the NBA to players both in writing and in person. "The issue here is not about the legal ownership and possession of guns, either in one's home or elsewhere. It is about possession of guns in the NBA workplace, which will not be tolerated," Stern said. "I have met separately with Mr. Arenas and with Mr. Crittenton. Both have expressed remorse for their actions and an understanding of the seriousness of their transgressions. Both have volunteered to engage in community service in order to turn the lessons they have learned into an educational message for others. I accept fully the sincerity of their expressions of regret and intent to create something positive from this incident. "Nevertheless, there is no justification for their conduct. Accordingly, I am today converting Mr. Arenas' indefinite suspension without pay to a suspension without pay for the remainder of the 2009-10 season, and am also suspending Mr. Crittenton without pay, effective immediately, for the remainder of the 2009-10 season." Arenas -- just as Crittenton did Tuesday -- met with Stern in what was regarded as the final step before the league announces a finite length to Arenas' indefinite suspension. ESPN.com reported Friday that suspension lengths for Arenas and Crittenton would be announced this week in the wake of a Dec. 21 confrontation in the Wizards' locker room in which both players have admitted to displaying unloaded handguns. Arenas entered a guilty plea Jan. 15 in District of Columbia Superior Court to a felony weapons possession charge after admitting to bringing four guns into the locker room following a heated argument with Crittenton during a card game on the team plane. Arenas missed his 12th consecutive game Tuesday night after Stern announced an indefinite suspension on Jan. 6, Arenas' 28th birthday. Arenas awaits criminal court sentencing on March 26. His sentence could range from probation and community service and a fine to a recommended prison term of up to six months. The sentence Arenas receives is expected to be the determining factor for the Wizards regarding their intent to void the remaining four seasons of Arenas' $111 million contract, which is valued at just over $80 million. Many league and legal experts contend that the Wizards could not successfully attempt to void Arenas' contract unless he is forced to serve jail time during the NBA season. Crittenton, who hasn't played a single minute for the Wizards this season, met with Stern on Tuesday after being sentenced to a year of unsupervised probation following his guilty plea to a misdemeanor gun charge. Prosecutors agreed to drop a second misdemeanor charge of attempted carrying a pistol without a license. "[Union director] Billy [Hunter] has been consistent with his message and his tone of really kind of waiting until the NBA comes out with what their position will be going forward and until then we can't respond," players association president Derek Fisher of the Los Angeles Lakers told ESPN.com last week. "It's never happened before, so there isn't anything you can match it to, per se," Fisher said. "If I was commissioner? Well, I'm not privy what he has to balance, what all is at stake in terms of what message he sends to fans, to sponsors, to team owners. So there's a lot more on his plate to contemplate before he makes a decision. "We respect that process, but from a union perspective we have to protect the short-term and long-term rights of our members, and when members do wrong things or make mistakes, they'll be rightfully punished, and we're just here to make sure that that doesn't go beyond what it should be under the circumstances." Wizards coach Flip Saunders told The Washington Post on Tuesday: "I think right now, the whole situation, we're all pretty much numb to the whole thing. We knew when it got to the point that it got to, nothing good was going to come out of it." ESPN Follow Me @Twitter.com/ChasinMoPaper
