Beanie Sigel was once a key a key member of Jay-Z's Roc-A-Fella team. The Philadelphia rapper and his State Property family helped Hov build a dynasty. But when that dynasty crumbled so did his relationship Jay-Z.

Starting in October 2009, Beans began airing Hov out on a several diss tracks. He released "Kill A Jigga Man", "What You Talkin Bout (Average Cat)" and "I Go Off", but Jay never responded.

Today (May 31) Beanie issued an apology to the man he dissed so viciously.

What Mike Epps say? ‘Gangstas f*ck up too,’” Sigel told XXLMag.com. “Whatever I felt this dude Jay did wrong to me, it can’t outweigh the one thing he did do for me – he gave me an opportunity. Dude gave me an opportunity. A lot of people don’t get opportunities. He gave me that. That outweighs everything. I need that in black and white. I got caught in the moment and put my feelings out there. I should have never done that.”

Whether or not his relationship with Jay can be fixed is anybody's guess, but the Broad Street Bully says it could have gotten worse. He told XXL he has an album's worth of disses going at Hov's head, but he won't release them now.

I was explaining the whole Roc-A-Fella sh*t and a lot of feelings were going to get hurt,” he said. “I was airing sh*t out. Just the homies could listen to that when they come into the studio. I couldn’t put that out. It wouldn’t sit right with me.

Next up for Beans is a mixtape and album with DJ Green Lantern.

What do you make of Beanie's apology? Do you think Jay-Z will ever forgive him and work with him again?

Roc Nation rapper was a huge fan of singer/actress Aaliyah when he was younger.  He recalls being so devastated by her death that he wanted to make a beat in her honor.

"I had such a crush on Aaliyah... It was like a little boy crush but it was a true crush." he says.  "And when she died I remember I called my mentor up like, 'Yo you think it would be corny if I made a beat and I called it Aaliyah?'  That was my way of paying respect in my own little world."

Aaliyah died at age 22 in a plane crash August 25, 2001, but thanks to her great music and fans like J Cole she will never be forgotten.

The 25 Hottest Girls of 2010 So Far

It's the middle of the year, so Complex is looking back at The Best of 2010 (So Far) with a series of features that highlight our favorite stuff from the world of entertainment, fashion, art, and more.

#25. Ashley Dupre

#24. Zoe Saldana

#23. Rosie Huntington-Whitely

#22. Nicole Scherzinger

#21. Anna Paquin

#20. Stacey Dash

#19. Lana Kane

#18. Lady Gaga

#17. Kristin Cavallari.

#16. Scarlett Johansson

#15. Sandra Bullock

#14. M.I.A.

#13. Michelle Trachtenberg

#12. Jessica Biel.

#11. Rihanna

#10. Lindsay Lohan

#9. Kim Kardashian

#8. Katy Perry

#7. Rose Byrne

#6. Megan Fox.

#5. Alison Brie

Why we've loved her in 2010: We noticed Alison Brie on the hit series Mad Men and had to co-sign. We went with the Hot Complex spread for obvious reasons. Sometimes the resume ain’t about quantity so much as quality. Between Mad Men and Community, Alison has proven to have range. Now all we need is a nude scene and we'd be set for life

#4. Sofia Vergara

Why we've loved her in 2010: What’s not to love? The 37-year-old MILF is possibly the most perfect specimen of womanhood we’ve ever seen and put ABC's Modern Family on the map. Super twos? Check. What an ass? Check. The face of a Latina goddess? Az-check. Plus we’re down for any chick who can make us laugh every time we see her on TV. Maybe she’ll marry the whole Complex staff (we do go wayback). How much more of a modern family can you get? Oho! See what we did there?

#3. Brooklyn Decker

Why we've loved her in 2010: A year ago, we didn’t really know who she was besides “that hot blonde chick in a bikini” that Andy Roddick wifed up. In 2010, she was named the Sports Illustrated cover model and wonEsquire’s “Sexiest Women Alive” bracket. Well, add the third-hottest chick of 2010 (so far) to her credentials. There's still a half a year left—if Brooklyn plays her cards right, she might be number one. BK all day, fool.

#2. Lyndsy Fonseca

Why we've loved her in 2010: We’re not going to take credit for Lyndsy Fonseca getting big in 2010 (even though the Complex co-sign is kind of a big deal). Starting small on The Young and The Restless and How I Met Your Mother, Lyndsy began to broaden her horizons with Kick-Ass and playing the very hot (and VERY crazy) Jennie in The Hot Tub Time Machine. It might be a cliche, but sky’s the limit for any babe who can convince us that Women Are Complex Too.

#1. Nicki Minaj

Why we've loved her in 2010: When we heard the words "And I just signed a chick named Nicki Minaj" come out of Wayne's mouth, we had no idea what he was talking about. However, Weezy's draft pick was as good as gold. From bodying rappers whose tracks she's featured on (um...Drake) to her quirky sense of style to our Hot Complex spread, Nicki embodies what Complex looks for in a female. The sexy rapstress has already ruled half of 2010, so wait, wait, fixate, and watch what she has planned for the rest of 2010

What clown said hip hip was dead? You can't kill an art form that's driven from the energy and love that's put into it by both the artists and the fans,

No doubt there are going to be times fads pass through hip hop like mohawks and skinny jeans, but at the end of the day talented spittas and producers will bring back that real sh*t.

I typed all that just to publicly admit I've been sleeping on J.Cole. You know, he was Jay-Z's 1st on Roc Nation artist, blah blah. It kind of went in one ear and out of the other.

But I've recently realized the error of my ways. The man is the truth and a big part a rap's future.

On Friday (July 16) Cole came to Philadelphia as part of the Heineken Inspire tour. The show also featured legendary turntable King Jazzy Jeff and R&B songstress Marshia Ambrosius.

Cole did his thing and paid respect to Philly by bringing out Freeway for a couple songs.

It was very interesting hearing and see the old Roc-A-Fella on the same stage with Jay-Z's new Roc Nation MC.

We get to see J.Cole perform "Last Call" before he brings Freeway out to perform "Roc The Mic" and "Who We Are"

Sometimes, when I see Beyonce, hear Alicia Keys, or notice some new pop-soul singer on the radio, TV or the Web, I think of Aaliyah. Today, Jan. 16, would have been her 31st birthday. Born in Brooklyn, and raised in Detroit, Aaliyah Dana Haughton was one of the most innovative hip-hop soul singers of the last decade. She released her debut album, “Age Ain’t Nothing but a Number” (1994), at the age of 14. Her follow-ups, “One in a Million” (1996), and “Aaliyah” (2001), were both influential and best-selling, fracturing the sound of traditional R&B. While other soul stars belted out songs and looked to raise the roof, Aaliyah stayed in the groove, working with collaborators R. Kelly, Timbaland, and Missy Elliott, to create beat-driven music with unusual but gripping rhythms, subtle vocals, and dangerously glamorous videos. She cut a mysterious figure in an overexposed field, keeping her private life private, and sweeping her dark hair over one eye like Veronica Lake. Soon after the release of her third, self-titled album, however, and just as she was securing a side career as a movie actress, Aaliyah’s career was cut short in a plane crash in 2001. She was 22 years old. Please leave your thoughts about Aaliyah in the comments section. Below, a few of Aaliyah’s music videos. Here’s the video for “Are You That Somebody?Aaliyah "Are You That Somebody" Aaliyah "More Than A Woman" Aaliyah "One In A Million" Aaliyah Rare Interview
