Senator Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao, boxing's only eight-division world champion, will end his two-year hiatus from a U.S. boxing ring when he returns to Las Vegas to defend his World Boxing Association welterweight world title against former four-division world champion and must-see attraction Adrien "The Problem" Broner. The Pacquiao vs. Broner world championship event will take place Saturday, Jan. 19 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Pacquiao vs. Broner and its co-main event fights will be produced and distributed live by SHOWTIME PPV and presented by Premier Boxing Champions beginning at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.

Pacquaio is coming off a vintage performance in July where he stopped Argentine slugger and world champion Lucas Matthysse inside seven rounds. Now, Pacquiao returns to the U.S. in his remarkable fourth reign as welterweight world champion. Broner, one of the most talented fighters in boxing, is aiming for his second stint as 147-pound champion. If victorious, Broner also will add a career-defining win against a future Hall of Famer to his already stellar resume.

Promoted by MP Promotions, Mayweather Promotions and TGB Promotions in association with About Billions Promotions, tickets to the Pacquiao vs. Broner welterweight world championship event go on sale Saturday, November 24. Tickets are priced at $1,500, $1,000, $750, $500, $300, $200, $100, not including applicable service charges, and can be purchased online through AXS.com, charge by phone at 866-740-7711 or in person at any MGM Resorts International box office.

Free-agent quarterback JaMarcus Russell told ESPN's Colleen Dominguez that he tested positive for codeine after the Raiders selected him with the No. 1 pick in the 2007 draft.

"I missed all of training camp, so I didn't get tested when all the other guys got tested," Russell told Dominguez during an "Outside The Lines" interview, the entirety of which can be seen at 9 a.m. ET Aug. 22. "I had a prescription from a doctor, but it wasn't the team doctor."

Russell also said he has used codeine without a prescription, but scoffed at reports that he had a drug problem.

Russell said the allegations of drug use stem from that positive test, and said he has not used codeine in three years.

When asked about Russell's positive test, NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said, "No comment."

The former LSU star -- who had missed the 2007 training camp because of a lengthy contract holdout that stretched to the start of the regular season -- said the Raiders came to him and asked him about his possible drug use early in his career.

"Around the time when I first got there or a year after I got there," Russell said, when asked when the Raiders confronted him. "[They] said they were gettin' word in the streets about me using drugs. Then, one of the doctors came to me."

The Raiders released Russell in May, and he was arrested in July for alleged possession of codeine.

Two days after his arrest, the Raiders released a statement saying they "did all they could to intervene and assist with a myriad of issues with JaMarcus Russell."

When Dominguez read the statement to Russell during the interview, he seemed startled and told Dominguez the Raiders' words caught him off-guard. Russell said he had never seen or heard the statement before.

Russell, who was just 7-18 in his three-year career with Oakland, also criticized Raiders coach Tom Cable for blaming him for the team's failure to make the playoffs.

"It kind of took a lot out of me for the respect of Tom Cable," Russell said. "I could have been the worst in the universe. To go on national television and say it was all my fault. ... He's the head coach. I don't think that was very head coach-like, or man-like."

On Wednesday, District Judge Charles McKnight questioned the credibility of the testimony given by Marcus Stevenson, a longtime Russell friend who said he made the codeine-laced drink found in a July 5 raid at Russell's home. Stevenson testified Wednesday that the drink belonged to him, but the judge sent the case to a grand jury.

Mobile County (Ala.) Sheriff's Deputy Johnny Thornton testified the orange-colored drink in Russell's bedroom appeared freshly poured. Investigators said Russell, who was in the bedroom, told them it was his Kool-Aid. Thornton said it later tested positive for codeine.

Thornton also said there were nine people in the house and a codeine bottle without a prescription was found in a cabinet.

Russell's attorney, Donald Briskman, said in an interview with The Associated Press after the hearing that the codeine bottle was in a cabinet at a distance from Russell's bedroom. He said Stevenson told an officer at the home that it belonged to him, not Russell, but authorities took no action against Stevenson.

"They didn't arrest him at the scene. They targeted JaMarcus. ... He should have been discharged today," Briskman said.

Stevenson testified at the hearing that he mixed the drink and didn't make it for Russell. After the hearing, Stevenson was handcuffed and charged with possession of a controlled substance. He was released on bond.

Stevenson's attorney, Greg Evans, raised objections to the questioning of his client, citing his rights against self-incrimination. He later said Stevenson "was sworn to tell the truth and that is what he did."

It could be months before the grand jury decides whether the evidence warrants an indictment.

MYFOXDC Reports Videos After The Jump WASHINGTON, D.C. - An Ashburn, Virginia woman is in the fight of her life after suffering a very rare side effect to the seasonal flu shot. The vast majority of doctors say flu shots are safe. In this case, the FDA says they found nothing wrong with this particular batch, but sometimes there are complications. That's apparently what happened to Desiree Jennings, and now her life will never be the same. At 26 years old, Desiree Jennings was the picture of health. She's a Washington Redskins cheerleader and an avid runner. Her life changed forever on August 23 when she says she got a seasonal flu shot at a local grocery store. "I was training for a half marathon then," said Jennings, crying. "It just all went so fast." Ten days after receiving the shot, she came down with the flu. After that, her health spiraled downwards. She started passing out and had to be hospitalized twice. "We went to an urgent care place and they wouldn't even let her get out of my truck because she was seizing in the back so bad, so they called an ambulance immediately," says her husband, Brendan Jennings. Doctors at Fairfax Inova and Johns Hopkins diagnosed her with a rare neurological disorder called dystonia. They think it was caused by a severe reaction to the flu shot. Desiree now has difficulty speaking, walking, and even eating. During an interview with FOX 5, she had several seizures. The effects are irreversible. "The symptoms will get worse if I use my voice or walk when the brain signals are misfiring," says Jennings. Desiree reported her health problems to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) thinking there might have been something wrong with her vaccine. We also contacted the FDA and we were told they found no problems with the particular lot of flu vaccines that Desiree received, and the agency has not received any other reports of adverse effects from this lot. Health experts stress that overall, extreme side effects are rare. "The flu shot is safe for the majority of the public, and as I said before, your heart goes out to someone that experiences this sort of thing-- thinking that they are doing something great for their wellness and their general health, but it does happen in extremely rare cases," says Rachel Lynch with Fairfax Inove Health System. For Desiree, she just happened to be one of those rare cases. "I just don't want this to happen to anyone else," says Jennings. Desiree and her husband plan to visit the Mayo Clinic in Arizona in November. They're hoping to get more answers about this disease and how they live with it. Desiree has received flu shots before in 2007 and 2008.

HipHopWired Reports How'd that slug feel going in ya mouth u B***H A** N***A lol... Stop lying to these people like u tough P***Y!!! Whoever started this whole Internet thuggin' and the idea that a person can talk tough through text or even worse, Twitter, should be slapped across the face. What has the world come to when people are sending threats and flexing muscle through a keyboard? Rapper Fabolous has started an epidemic of trash talk as many are using this new outlet to air out opponents. For some reason, Ja Rule will not allow himself to let his past with 50 Cent go. Just accept the L and move on because there's no point in fueling a past in which you caught the mightiest of losses. Although stating that 50 is the last thing on his mind, such things as this makes the rapper come off as still being a little bitter and hot over what happened. “I want ppl to know that I'm not thinking about this clown boo boo but he's always mentioning my name tell this n***a to get off my D**K! Lol” The fire was lit under Ja when 50 referred to his old adversary as a “sucka” and he quickly reverted back to grade school to unleash a response when asked. RT @mafiosoglok GLOK ON THE SPOT: Q: @RuleYork What do you think about @50Cent calling you a sucka still live on Ustream? By ending his prolonged beef with DMX, it felt as though Ja was back to deliver the positivity that was part of his career when he was signing with Ashanti. Obviously, the rapper still has to pump up his chest every now and then to give a reminder that he still is a gangsta in the streets. Don't be so quick to forget that he made “Thug Lovin” with Bobby Brown and let's not leave out “Clap Back.” Look, all of this energy and aggression should be focused on something that can help, not hurt. If you like to sing songs, go do that, who cares what 50 said if it worked. Going back and forth is only wasting time and breath.

OregonLive.com Reports Kentucky Fried Chicken's latest menu innovation is a new take on the traditional bread-and-lunch meat sandwich that we all know and love. It's called the Double Down -- two pieces of bacon, two pieces of cheese and Colonel's Sauce nestled between two pieces of fried chicken. It's as if the people at KFC read the outrageous food blog "This is why you're fat," took the tagline ("Where dreams become heart attacks") and made it into their own Colonel's Sauce-infused reality. At California's famous burger drive-thru In-N-Out, you can get your burgers without buns, no problem. However, instead of substituting bread for fried chicken, In-N-Out goes for the more reasonable and certainly healthier option -- lettuce.

KFC's Double Down Sandwich Besides being mashed between two hefty pieces of fried chicken, the bacon and cheese, you'll notice, doesn't even come with lettuce, tomato or pickles anymore. It seems like KFC is taking all the health food concerns, obesity and vegetarianism of America and saying, "We don't care! We're Kentucky Fried Chicken!" Perhaps that's all a place with "fried" in its name can do -- embrace the fat, enjoy the bacon and suffer two to three heart attacks before turning 40.
