FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — A Kentucky judicial panel ordered that a judge accused of favoritism, dishonesty and other misconduct be removed from the bench, according to court documents released Monday.
The Kentucky Judicial Conduct Commission said it found Kenton County Family Court Judge Dawn Gentry, who was suspended from the bench in January, guilty on 10 of 12 charges against her. The ruling follows a weeklong misconduct hearing in August.
The commission found Gentry:
*Allowed alcohol to be stored and consumed in court offices
*Engaged in sexual acts with an attorney who continued to appear before her
*Had a romantic relationship with an employee of the court
*Was not candid or honest with the commission
*Coerced attorneys to donate and work on her campaign
*Utilized staff during work hours to work on her campaign
*Appointed attorneys to a panel in exchange for supporting her campaign
*Retaliated against attorneys by delaying their cases for not donating or working on her campaign
Another attorney, Katherine Schulz, resigned after she said Gentry retaliated against her. Schulz wrote in an affidavit never filed in court that she faced the judge's "wrath" when she rebuffed sexual propositions from the judge. Schulz also said she saw others punished for not sufficiently supporting the judge, either politically or by showing up for performances by the judge’s band, South of Cincy.
Gentry has 10 days to appeal the decision, the ruling said.
While none of the charges against Gentry involved criticism of her rulings, the panel said that it didn’t lessen the seriousness of her numerous instances of misconduct.
“This case does not involve one or two isolated occurrences, but instead involves a pattern of misconduct and repeated exercise of extremely poor judgment — on and off the Bench — by the Respondent that continued for over a year,” the commission wrote in its decision.
Gentry, 39, became a judge in 2016 when former Gov. Matt Bevin chose her to fill a vacancy. She was elected in 2018 to a four-year term.

President Trump says cops who use deadly force and shoot someone are exactly like nervous golfers who can't sink the last shot ... seriously, he compared the two.
DT sat down for an interview with FOX News' Laura Ingraham Monday night, and while discussing high-profile police incidents lately -- especially with Black men -- Trump brought up Jacob Blake ... saying the officer who fired 7 times might as well have been Tiger Woods on a bad day.
It was so outrageous and tone-deaf, even Ingraham tried to steer him away, but Trump stuck to his guns ... and said cops who use lethal force are like golfers who "choke."
Trump did question whether the Kenosha officer, Rusten Sheskey, could've done something else other than shoot -- like tackling him -- but the comparison he made is still shocking and utterly lacking in empathy. As you know, Blake is paralyzed from the waist down.
As if that's not bad enough ... Trump's going to Kenosha Tuesday, ignoring the advice of state and local officials who desperately want him to stay away.

Adult film actor Ron Jeremy was charged with 20 new counts of sexual assault involving 13 women, including a 15-year-old girl, in Los Angeles on Monday.
Jeremy, 67, whose legal name is Ronald Jeremy Hyatt, is accused of assaulting multiple women dating back as early as 2004 and as recently as January, according to an amended complaint filed by the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office. If convicted, Jeremy faces a maximum sentence of more than 250 years to life in state prison.
The new charges against Jeremy include six counts of battery by restraint, five counts of forcible rape, three counts of forcible oral copulation, and two counts of forcible penetration with a foreign object. Jeremy also faces a count each of sodomy, lewd conduct with a 15-year-old girl, assault with the intent to commit rape and penetration by a foreign object on an unconscious or sleeping victim.
The women allegedly assaulted by Jeremy range in age from 15 to 54.
Jeremy is accused of preying upon a then-15-year-old victim, identified only as Jane Doe No. 5, sometime during June 2004. One of the charges of forcible penetration by foreign object also stems from the 2004 incident, when the girl attended a party in Santa Clarita, according to the district attorney’s office.
The most recent of Jeremy’s alleged crimes took place on January 1 with a 21-year-old woman outside a business in Hollywood, the prosecutor’s office said Monday. Jeremy was charged with forcible rape and sodomy in this case, according to the amended complaint.
Jeremy is also accused in a May 2014 incident, when he allegedly raped a 25-year-old woman at a home in West Hollywood.
Six of the alleged assaults occurred in a West Hollywood bar Jeremy regularly frequented, with a seventh allegedly committed in the bar’s parking lot, the district attorney’s office said.
Jeremy was previously charged in June with three counts of forcible rape and forcible penetration with a foreign object, and one count each of forcible oral copulation and sexual battery.
He pleaded not guilty to all eight counts in June. An attorney for Jeremy did not immediately respond to a request for comment to NBC News on the new charges filed Monday.
Jeremy is expected to be arraigned on the new charges Monday. He remains in custody in the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles.

Bullets fired from a passing vehicle struck and killed a 7-year-old girl who was attending another child’s birthday party over a violent weekend in the city of South Bend, Ind., according to police and reports.
At least 60 people were celebrating another child’s birthday on Donald Street in South Bend on Saturday night and had moved outside after gathering for birthday cake when the night took a turn for the worst, the South Bend Tribune reported.
“I would say about 20 seconds after we came outside, we hear gunshots, ‘Pow, pow, pow,’” SlyLavecchio Hines told the Tribune.
His niece, later identified by WSBT 22 as Chrisyah Stephens, was struck by a bullet shortly before 7:45 p.m.
“I ran and I was trying to grab her, to block her from the bullets,” Hines told the Tribune on Sunday. “But it was too late. As soon as I grabbed her, her body got heavy. I laid her down, I called her name, and then I seen the blood.”
A St. Joseph County Metro Homicide official said in a statement to WSBT that the girl was “in very serious condition” when police arrived.
“Initial information received was that multiple shots were fired from a vehicle driving past the home,” the statement reads, according to the report. “Although there were numerous people in front of the home when the shooting occurred, the child was the only person hit by the gunfire.”
Stephens was rushed to an area hospital but could not be saved. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday morning, WSBT reported.
By Sunday, four people had been shot in South Bend, Police Chief Scott Ruszkowski said, including Stephens, who Ruszkowski said was playing at the time.
“We’re almost at 100 people criminally shot this year,” he said, later adding: “Life doesn’t have to be and shouldn’t be like this, but in order for it to stop, our community has to say and do something. These shootings can be avoided well before becoming a police matter.”

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — The Jaguars moved another step closer to purging Tom Coughlin’s tumultuous tenure in Jacksonville.
The team waived running back Leonard Fournette on Monday, a stunning decision many outsiders view as the latest in a series of head scratchers that could help the franchise tank the season and get the No. 1 draft pick.
“If that’s the case, then the realization is if that happens, then I’m not going to be here,” coach Doug Marrone said. “At the end of the day, if I don’t win enough games or do enough with this team, I don’t foresee me still being employed. I’m doing everything I can to make sure we have the best team to make sure we win football games. That’s as simple as I can be on it.”
Coughlin wanted Fournette as the centerpiece of his old-school, run-first philosophy. It worked in 2017, although it became clear that Fournette needed to be a better pro. He was fined repeatedly for being late and skipping mandatory functions.
The Jaguars spent months trying to trade Fournette, the fourth overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft who’s coming off a career year. He was on the block during the NFL draft and again over the summer.
“We couldn’t get anything, a fifth, a sixth, anything,” Marrone said.
So they dumped the 25-year-old former LSU star one day after trading former Pro Bowl defensive end Yannick Ngakoue to Minnesota in exchange for a second-round draft pick in 2021 and a conditional fifth-rounder in 2020. Jacksonville also traded Jalen Ramsey, fellow cornerback A.J. Bouye and defensive end Calais Campbell in the last 10 months.
“It’s going to fall to me as to who those best players are,” Marrone said. “At the end of the day, I’ve got to be able to field a team that I believe gives us the best chance to win. That’s what my role is and that’s what I’m doing.”
Still, no one expected Jacksonville to part ways with Fournette less than two weeks before the opener.
He is due $4.17 million in guaranteed salary this season if someone claims him. If he clears waivers, he would become a free agent.
Jacksonville voided all the remaining guarantees in his rookie deal in December 2018, so Fournette would need to file a grievance to get any money from the Jags in 2020.
Fournette’s time in Jacksonville took a turn in 2018, which ended up being the worst season of his football life. He was injured, suspended and on the bench in crunch time. He was fined, criticized and admittedly not in ideal shape late in the year.
The Jaguars voided his guarantees following his one-game suspension for fighting with Buffalo linebacker Shaq Lawson, and Coughlin ripped him for being “disrespectful” and “selfish” for sitting on the bench — while injured and inactive — during the season finale. Adding to the chaos, Fournette was arrested in April 2019 for driving with a suspended license.
He bounced back last year with his best season. He topped 1,600 yards from scrimmage in 15 games, carrying 265 times for 1,152 yards and catching 76 passes for 522 yards. He scored only three touchdowns. He also fumbled just once in 341 touches.
Fournette has 2,631 yards rushing, 1,009 yards receiving and 19 touchdowns in three seasons since he was now-fired personnel chief Coughlin’s first draft pick since returning to Jacksonville. But with Coughlin gone, general manager Dave Caldwell put Fournette on the block and declined to pick up the fifth-year option in his rookie deal.
Marrone insisted Fournette did nothing to prompt his release, instead pointing to his fit in coordinator Jay Gruden’s new scheme.
“It strictly has to do with on the field,” Marrone said.

Dick Vitale joins Mike Greenberg on Get Up to reflect on the life and career of legendary Georgetown coach John Thompson Jr.

WASHINGTON (AP) — John Thompson, the imposing Hall of Famer who turned Georgetown into a “Hoya Paranoia” powerhouse and became the first Black coach to lead a team to the NCAA men’s basketball championship, has died. He was 78.
His death was announced in a family statement Monday. No details were disclosed.
“More than a legend, he was the voice in our ear everyday,” the statement said. “We will miss him but are grounded in the assurance that we carry his faith and determination in us.”
One of the most celebrated and polarizing figures in his sport, Thompson took over a moribund Georgetown program in the 1970s and molded it in his unique style into a perennial contender, culminating with a national championship team anchored by center Patrick Ewing in 1984.
At 6-foot-10, with an ever-present white towel slung over his shoulder, Thompson literally and figuratively towered over the Hoyas for decades, becoming a patriarch of sorts after he quit coaching in 1999.
One of his sons, John Thompson III, was hired as Georgetown’s coach in 2004. When the son was fired in 2017, the elder Thompson -- known affectionately as “Big John” or “Pops” to many -- was at the news conference announcing Ewing as the successor.
