A transgender prisoner in New Jersey was transferred to another facility last month after impregnating two inmates at a women’s only prison earlier this year, according to a Saturday report.
Officials moved 27-year-old Demi Minor to Garden State Youth Correctional Facility, a prison for young adults in Burlington County, according to NJ.com. Minor, who is currently serving a 30-year sentence for manslaughter, was previously incarcerated at Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women, where the 27-year-old impregnated two fellow inmates after engaging in “consensual sexual relationships.”
Minor allegedly requested a female officer to conduct a strip search, according a July 15 blog post. The request was denied, and Minor recalls crying while complying with commands.
Minor claimed to have come “under attack by young inmates who are immature and just plain ignorant” towards transgender individuals and alleged to have been referred to by guards as “he” and “him” more than 30 times.
Following transfer, Minor was placed in a vulnerable unit in Garden State, New Jersey Department of Correction spokesperson Dan Sperazza told NJ.com. Sperrazza could not comment further on Minor’s housing decisions due to DOC privacy policies, but said that “the department is currently reviewing the policy for housing transgender incarcerated persons with the intention of implementing minor modifications.”
The incidents alleged on Minor’s website, Justice 4 Demi, are currently under investigation, according to NJ.com.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A man was detained early Saturday morning after police say he wanted to kill himself and those leaving a FedEx Forum concert, all because of a breakup.
At 2:48 a.m., Memphis police responded to an armed mental consumer call on S. Main St. There, officers met Elijah Hyman, 28, along with his girlfriend. The couple had just broken up, police say. Hyman’s right hand was bleeding from a cut glass window inside of his apartment, police say, but it is not clear how the injury occurred.
It was then that Hyman made the threats of violence against himself and those leaving Friday night’s Yo Gotti concert.
Officers were told that Hyman had several weapons inside his apartment. A search warrant was conducted and several weapons were confiscated. ATF agents were contacted in this investigation.
Hyman was detained, cuffed, and taken for medical treatment and evaluation.
He was charged with commission of the act of terrorism.
POMPANO BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) - A mon has been placed under arrest due to a toddler tragedy & the investigation is said to have been going on for years.
Gertrude Desir, 27, faced a judge Friday, charged for the death of her 2-year-old son Fransy Lamour Jr.
.
“Ma’am, you are charged in count 1 with aggravated manslaughter of a child,” said Judge Phoebee Francois, of the Broward County Circuit Court.
The toddler had overdosed on fentanyl, cocaine & morphine found in his system. It first unfolded in November of 2019 at their Pompano Beach apartment. The child was found unresponsive on the living room floor & not breathing.
“Count 2 is possession of fentanyl, that is a $2,500 bond. Count 3 is possession of cocaine, that is a $2,500 bond & count 4 is possession of…” said Francois.
“Cocaine where?!” said Desir.
“Listen, listen, count 4 is possession of drug paraphernalia,” said Francois.
Officers found heroin capsules & fentanyl inside the apartment.
Desir had already been under investigation by Child Protective Services for child neglect but stopped cooperating.
According to an arrest report from 2016, she had threatened to kill a police officer while holding a 1-year-old child. She was then arrested.
It took nearly 3 years for investigators to finally catch up to Desir. She was found inside of an abandoned home in Fort Lauderdale. Police found Desir there Thursday where she was then arrested son.
Desir is being held at the North Broward County Jail in Pompano Beach.

Black's Dodge Durango was searched after cops allegedly smelled weed. The search turned up 31 oxycodone pills and $74,960 in cash. His license and tags were also expired.

AKRON, Ohio (AP) — Jayland Walker, the 25-year-old Black man who died last month at the hands of police in Akron, Ohio, was shot dozens of times, with 26 bullets recovered from his body.
Dr. Lisa Kohler, the Summit County medical examiner, said it was impossible for her office to say which bullet killed Walker.
Walker “had several very devastating injuries that would cause death,” including injuries to his heart, lungs & arteries, Kohler said. She tallied 41 entry wounds & 5 wounds from bullets that grazed Walker.
Walker had 5 wounds in his back, but it’s impossible to say whether those came as he ran away or turned as he was being shot.
Kohler said that no illegal drugs or alcohol were detected in Walker.
The medical examiner’s findings confirm that Walker, unarmed & with no drugs or alcohol in his system, “came to a brutal, senseless death,” said Ken Abbarno, a lawyer representing Walker’s family.
The NAACP made a direct plea to Attorney General Merrick Garland for the Justice Department to open a federal civil rights investigation into the shooting.
Police said Walker fled an attempted traffic stop for minor equipment violations & fired a shot from his car during the vehicle chase, but he wasn’t armed when officers shot him.
Police body camera footage shows Walker wearing a ski mask, jumping out the front passenger door of his car & then running into a parking lot where police opened fire. That blurry footage does not clearly show what authorities say was a threatening gesture made by Walker before he was shot.
An unloaded handgun, an ammunition clip & what appeared to be a wedding band were found on the front driver’s seat of Walker’s car.
The officers involved are on paid leave while the state investigates the shooting.
KHIMKI, Russia (AP) — A lawyer for WNBA star Brittney Griner at her drug possession trial in Russia on Friday gave the court a U.S. doctor’s letter recommending she use medical cannabis to treat pain.
Griner, a 2-time Olympic gold medalist & standout for the Phoenix Mercury, was arrested at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport in February after customs officials said they found vape canisters containing cannabis oil in her luggage. She faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted on charges of transporting drugs.
In court last week, Griner pleaded guilty & acknowledged possessing the canisters but said she had no criminal intent & said they were in her luggage because she packed hastily in her return to Russia to play for the UMMC Ekaterinburg basketball team during the WNBA’s offseason.
In Russia’s judicial system, admitting guilt doesn’t automatically end a trial. Since that plea, her court sessions have focused on in-person & written testimony to her good character & athletic prowess.
“The attending physician gave Brittney recommendations for the use of medical cannabis,” said her lawyer, Maria Blagovolina. “The permission was issued on behalf of the Arizona Department of Health.”
Medical marijuana is not legal in Russia.
The defense on Friday also submitted tests she underwent as part of an anti-doping check, which didn’t detect any prohibited substances in her system.
The next hearing of Griner’s case was scheduled for July 26.
