Pharell Williams will release his next solo album on Columbia Records, it was announced today. The groundbreaking producer/rapper/singer is best known for his work as part of the production team The Neptunes and a member of the group N.E.R.D. He's also helped create hit records for N.O.R.E. Jay Z, the Clipse, Robin Thicke, Snoop Dogg, Daft Punk and Nelly to name a few.

The first single off of the forthcoming album is the feel good song "Happy," which was written for The Despicable Me 2 soundtrack. A video for the track has already been released. The full project will drop sometime in 2014.

"When we excitedly partnered with Pharrell in January of this year, we felt it was his time again," Columbia Records Chairman/CEO Rob Stringer, said in a press release. "Since then, 'Blurred Lines' and 'Get Lucky' have defined pop music in 2013, and now we are preparing to launch Pharrell as a global solo superstar in 2014. 'Happy' is just the beginning."

Mr. Vegas strikes once again. After the release of his 'Bruk it Down 2.0" album that included a collaboration with Soca Queen Allison Hinds, Vegas has teamed up with another musical legend, Wyclef Jean. With the introduction of their new single "Girl Don't Break It" these two music blends bless our ears with a dance track just in time for the carnival season. The song is full of a shake ya body type rhythm that hypnotizes you to automatically start moving that body!

Wyclef is venturing into new music territory with this collaboration. They might have shared the same stage before but this is the first time Mr. Vegas and Wyclef have been on the same track.

This song promises to be another hit following Mr. Vegas' dance mix "Party Tun Up" Remix and Wyclef "April Showers".

Mr. Vegas continues to spread his musical talents with other genres and this is a good collaboration for Wyclef as he has been recently added to Jamaica biggest running stage show, 'Sting' for their upcoming 30th anniversary "Bring Back the Sting" live this December in Jamaica.

Former Shady/Aftermath artist Stat Quo continues putting out quality music, both as a solo artist and as a member of FUPM with Bobby Creekwater. Check out Stat's Tone Mason-produced single "Trillion" featuring Dre.

This is off of Stat's forthcoming album, ATLA.

Chris Brown is skating on thin legal ice. The singer was just in an L.A. court for a probation progress hearing and the judge in the case revoked his probation. 

Chris' probation stems from his 2009 assault of Rihanna. However, in October he was charged with assault for allegedly punching a man in the face.

Given the fact that he has not obeyed all laws while on probation, the decision was made to revoke. The "Deuces" singer did catch a break because he was not sentenced to jail time. The judge is impressed with the progress he has been making in anger management rehab.

According to rehab documents obtained by TMZ, Chris has completed a 12-hour ropes course "to enhance team-building skills and trust." He's been taken off of medical marijuana and his new medication is working. His ability to "emotionally regulate himself" has markedly improved.




Chris remains on his own recognizance for now. He was ordered to not use weed, comply with all terms and conditions of probation, remain in anger management and take all medications deemed necessary by his doctors.

He will appear in front of the judge again in February to go over his case again. At that time he could be sentenced to jail depending on his progress.

Ho, Ho, Huh?

An African American student at a New Mexico high school was devastated when his teacher at Cleveland High School questioned why he was dressed up as Santa Claus. The teacher told freshman, Christopher Rougier, that he couldn't wear the outfit because Kris Kringle was white.

Christopher was so embarrassed he didn't even tell his family what happened. His father found out later from another parent.

Christopher's father was so upset he called the school's principal.

"The principal just hung up on me. And hasn't called back... hasn't said anything," Michael Rougier told CNN affiliate, KOAT. "[The Teacher] needs to be fired. For him to make a comment like that, there has to be at a minimum prejudice in him, and we don't have room for that."

Christopher's teacher did call the family and apologized to the mother.

Kim Vesely, the director of Rio Rancho Public Schools, released a statement to media about the incident.

This situation involves a teacher recently hired by Cleveland High who made -- and admits he made -- a stupid mistake. The remark was inappropriate and should not have been made. The teacher feels very badly about what occurred. He self-reported the incident to the principal and has apologized to the student and to the student's parent. Appropriate disciplinary action has been taken.

Roger said his son wants nothing to do with Christmas anymore. The family asked that he be transferred to another class and were granted permission by the school.

The undisputed Punch Line King King once again showed what a dynamic live performer he is as he shut down Stage 48 in New York City on Sunday (December 15). Fans who attended the show tweeted Lloyd Banks to show their appreciation.

Beyoncé's new surprise self titled album is set to blow away the competition. The project sold an incredible 550,000 copies in just two days, according to Billboard. It moved 430,000 units on Friday (December 13), the first day of it's release, and then another 120,000 on Saturday.

The album will be the singer's fifth consecutive disc to hit No. 1 in it's opening week. With sales expected to soar over 600,000, the new album will be the highest debut by a female artist on the Billboard 200 since Taylor Swift's Red, which sold 1.2 million copies in 2012.

**UPDATE**

Apple has released the numbers for BEYONCÉ the album, and they're insane.  The project sold 828,773 copies on iTunes in just its first three days. 

617,000 of those downloads came from the United States.

Those numbers shatter the previous record held by Taylor Swift's Red, which sold 465,000 on iTunes in the week ending Oct. 28, 2012.

Really impressive numbers, congrats B!
