XXL Magazine is bringing a special issue to newsstands on December 31st to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Hip Hop.
It couldn't have been easy selecting the five artists who will grace the covers. In the end XXL settled on Snoop Dogg, Outkast, LL Cool J, Jay Z and Lil Wayne.

Thanks to a Crime Stoppers tip police in Houma, Louisiana have arrested 2 teens for brutally attacking a disabled man.
26-year old Kenneth Matherne was walking home on November 11th when Drake Mobley, 17, and Tre Paul Britton, 19, attacked him from behind.
The pair brutally beat Matherne, repeatedly punched the victim in the face, used a stun gun on him and took his wallet..
Matherne was left with a broken nose, two black eyes and a busted lip. A nearby home with a surveillance system caught the beating on tape.

Police arrested Mobley and Britton on Monday (December 16) and took them to Terrebonne Parish jail They were charged with armed robbery and second-degree battery. Both of their bonds are set at $250,000.

Since the incident was first reported there has been an outpouring of generosity from the community. Funds were donated to increase the Crime Stoppers reward. Matherne was also given a $500 Walmart gift certificate, a new bike and other gifts.
"I'm happy because the guys got caught," Matherne said. "I don't know who turned them in, but I'm glad they did."
Troy Ave a.k.a. Harry Powder is preparing to release his DJ Drama-hosted mixtape White Christmas 2. Tonight he gives Hot 97's DJ Funkmaster Flex the green light to premiere a track off of the project entitled "Do It" featuring Styles P.
Freddie "Gangsta" Gibbs comes through with an official music video for "Deuces." Directed by Danny Manhattan. The ESGN CEO gets production from Young Chop.

Add another milestone to the career of Beyonce Knowles. Her new self tiled album will debut an No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The feat puts the Houston singer in the record books as the first woman to have her first five solo studio albums debut at the top of the charts.
BEYONCE, the album sold 617,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen Soundscan as an iTunes only release.
It will hit all retail outlets besides Target on Saturday, December 21.
New Orleans native August Alsina enlists the help of Memphis-bred MC Yo Gotti, for his latest radio single "Ghetto", produced by Knucklehead. Previously released with a guest verse from ATL's Rich Homie Quan on Alsina's debut EP, 'Downtown Life Under the Gun', the new Yo Gotti version is set to appear on Alsina's yet to be titled debut album, due out Spring 2014.
