Adrien Broner hasn't fought in a year-and-a-half -- a streak that was supposed to come to an end this Saturday -- but the 4-weight class world champ just announced he's struggling with his mental health & is pulling out of the fight.

33-year-old Broner was scheduled to box 32-year-old Omar Figueroa Jr. on August 20 at the Hard Rock in Hollywood, FL. ... but early Monday morning, AB let the world know the fight's off.

"Man, I'm going thru a lot at this moment in my life but I ain't go give up I set some more goals & I ain't stopping until I finish what I started but sorry to say this but I'm not fighting #August20th," Broner wrote.

Just hours before AB made the announcement, he was still promoting his Showtime fight on Instagram. But, early Monday morning, he decided to announce he was pulling out because he wasn't feeling full-strength ... & the boxing ring isn't a place for play.

"Sorry to all my fans but #MentalHealth is real and I’m not about to play inside the ring I’ve watched a lot of people die playing with they boxing career & that is something I won’t do just pray for me I love the sport of boxing to much to not give my all & I feel Like I came up short before because my mind wasn’t 100%," Adrien wrote.

Broner says he needs to change some stuff in his life before he takes another boxing match.

"I need to make some changes for the better instead of worrying about other people feelings & pleasing them when In all reality I have nothing to prove to nobody," AB wrote, adding, "I have to step back & overcome this obstacle before I go put my life on the line inside the square circle again I know I’m far from being finished with the sport SEE YALL SOON #Respectfully"

This is the 2nd time AB & Figueroa -- a former lightweight champ with only 2 losses were supposed to fight before the bout was canceled. In 2018, Omar was forced to pull out with an injury.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Three years after his murder, rapper Nipsey Hussle is set to be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

While Hussle is being honored for his musical accomplishments, he is also remembered for a legacy of community building in Los Angeles that continues to this day in his name.

He worked with the Los Angeles City Council on projects like Destination Crenshaw - a public works effort dedicated to art and the local businesses now well under construction

Last week Los Angeles officials dedicated a new Metro station in Hyde Park in his name, not far from where his Marathon clothing store was located.

The ceremony for Hussle's star will be held 10 a.m. Monday on Hollywood Boulevard in front of Amoeba Music. It can be watched via streaming on the Hollywood Walk of Fame website.

Monday would have been his 37th birthday.

"This is a really good birthday gift," said LaTanya Ward, a community activist and friend of the rapper. "I wish he were actually here to receive it. He got people to understand that people who come from where we come from can accomplish great feats."

Hussle was fatally shot in front of his Marathon store on March 31, 2019.

Eric Ronald Holder was found guilty of his murder in July of this year.

NEWTON, Mass. (AP) — Officials in a Boston suburb are investigating a former city employee they say shut down the police website during a pay dispute.

Newton Mayor Ruthanne Fuller said the former employee, who was the police department information technology director, took down the department website in late June and July. The website instead directed visitors to a message that called on them to contact Fuller and ask the mayor to restore it, The Boston Globe reported on Friday.

Fuller said the employee controls access to the site and has not turned it over to the city. Newton has created a new police department website in its place. The old website was no longer active on Sunday.

Fuller told the Globe in a statement earlier this week that the employee shut down “a vital resource for the residents of the city of Newton.” The employee notified city officials in March that he was leaving the job, the Globe reported. The paper reported the employee felt he was owed $137,000 in compensatory time at the time he shut down the website, the paper reported.

The employee said in a statement that he was “disheartened by the city’s representation of the facts in this matter” and he would work with the city to resolve the problem.

RALEIGH. N.C. (AP) — Six teenagers were shot when a fight occurred at a night club in North Carolina’s capital city, authorities said.

The Raleigh Police Department said it didn’t have the conditions of each of the four girls and two boys who were injured when the fight broke out late Friday night, but the agency said they were all expected to survive.

One teenager was taken to the hospital for treatment after being shot in the arm and the bullet penetrated his lung, police Lt. Jason Borneo said. There appears to be only one shooter, he added.

“No arrests have been made ,” Borneo said in a email Saturday. “This case continues to be open and ongoing.”

Authorities said gunfire occurred inside Club Dreams, WRAL-TV reported, after which the fight spilled into the parking lot and more shots were fired.

A private party was being held at the club Friday night, according to the TV station.

DENTON, Texas (AP) — A man on trial in Texas died Thursday after drinking from a large water bottle containing a cloudy liquid as a jury found him guilty of child sexual assault, officials said.

Edward Leclair, 57, was on trial in Denton, located about 40 miles northwest of Dallas, on five counts involving one victim. The Tarrant County medical examiner’s office doesn’t yet list his cause or manner of death. Leclair had been released on bond following his arrest.

Prosecutor Jamie Beck told the Denton Record-Chronicle that Leclair didn’t drink from the water bottle until the verdict was read, then he “just chugged it.”

After the verdict, Leclair was sent to a holding cell next to the courtroom as the timing of his punishment phase was discussed. Beck said that an investigator assigned to the courtroom had told the bailiff what Leclair had done and suggested he check on him.

Leclair’s attorney, Mike Howard, said sheriff’s deputies gave Leclair medical aid until EMS arrived.

“I saw him being taken out on the gurney,” Howard told the newspaper. “His color and pallor didn’t look good — gray — and then he was taken to the hospital. Beyond that, that’s all I can say.”

CONCORD, NH (Fox17) --A teen has been arrested and charged in the triple murder of a mother and her two young sons.

The Department of Justice division in New Hampshire reports 25-year-old Kassandra Sweeney and her sons Benjamin (age 4) and Mason (age 1) were found in a Northfield home on August 3 deceased.

Police arrived to the residence and were faced with the horrific scene in which each were shot and killed with single gunshot wounds.

A teen has been arrested in connection to the case, charged with three counts of first-degree murder and one count of falsifying physical evidence. Due to the teen's age, police are not releasing any further details about the alleged killer.

A Go Fund Me has been launched by the woman's cousin in an effort to pay for the husband's living expenses and for memorial services in what the cousin called an "unimaginable loss."

(CNN) Donald Trump has agreed the historic search warrant that authorized the seizure of federal records from the former president's home at Mar-a-Lago should be released.

The Justice Department had told the court it believes that unsealing the confidential investigative documents is in the public interest. The DOJ said it supports releasing 4 documents: The search warrant itself, 2 attachments that describe at least to some extent what was being searched & why & a receipt handed to Trump's legal team documenting what was seized from the property.

The Wall Street Journal reported earlier Friday that the FBI recovered 11 sets of classified documents from its search of Mar-a-Lago earlier this week, including some materials marked as "top secret/SCI." The newspaper reported that FBI agents removed about 20 boxes from Trump's resort & residence in Palm Beach, Florida -- including binders, sets of classified government materials, photographs & at least 1 handwritten note.

Federal agents reportedly seized one set of "top secret/SCI" documents, the highest level of classification. Agents took 4 sets of "top secret" documents, 3 sets of "secret" documents & 3 sets of "confidential" documents.

During the search, FBI agents also recovered a document about the "President of France."

The FBI search at the resort in Palm Beach, Florida, on Monday was followed by days of silence from the Justice Department, as is the department's normal practice for ongoing investigations.

Then on Thursday, Attorney General Merrick Garland announced that the department had moved to unseal the search warrant & 2 attachments, including an inventory list.

GULFPORT, Miss (AP) — A Mississippi chiropractor accused of selling fentanyl and being in possession of drug paraphernalia was taken into custody after an undercover investigation.

Joseph “Joey” Andrew Rogers, 53, of Long Beach, faces charges including possession of meth, tampering with evidence and sale of a controlled substance. The fentanyl charges came from “previous undercover operations,” Harrison County Sheriff Troy Peterson said in a news release.

Authorities executed search warrants Wednesday at the home and office of Rogers, the Sun Herald reported. When authorities arrived at Rogers’ house to serve the warrant, he fled and discarded a substance suspected to be fentanyl in the toilet.

Rogers was apprehended and arrested. Investigators found meth and paraphernalia used for ingesting heroin and fentanyl in his home, Peterson said. He is being held in county jail on a $200,000 bond set by Justice Court Judge Nick Patano.

Rogers owns and operates a chiropractic office on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, according to the news release. The office’s Facebook page advertises Rogers as the only local chiropractor who is “available on Saturday and after hours daily.”

An official with the Harrison County Justice Court said it is not clear whether Rogers has obtained an attorney yet. He could have his first court appearance Friday.
