Drake Backtracks On Comments He Made About DJ Drama & His Gangsta Grillz Mixtapes

Drake has clarified statements he made to XXL regarding DJ Drama and his highly successful Gangsta Grillz mixtape series.

Drizzy was asked if he would be interested in doing a Gangsta Grillz mixtape. His response was not what you would expect to hear and could be easily misinterpreted.

“I just find that boring, you know? People might want to hear it, but it's just not something that I really want to give you," Drake told the mag. "I'd rather just give you something that lasts a little longer than that 'cause those mixtapes never really last much longer than six months.”

After having some time to reflect on his comments, Drake reached out to AllHipHop to clarify them.

“In no way did I intend to discredit the Gangsta Grillz brand,” Drake told AHH. “I have listened to many of Drama’s mixtapes and will continue to do so for years to come.”

The Young Money rapper expressed a preference for using original beats rather that spit freestyles over another artist's tracks.

“I do prefer to listen to original content over freestyles because I like to hear how different artists put together an entire song from lyrics to hooks to beat selection.

“I just personally don’t feel I could carry an entire mixtape on other people’s beats and that was the only point I was attempting to get across.”

Drake's highly anticipated debut album, 'Thank Me Later' hits store shelves June 15.

Drake Says He's 'Trying To Become A Better Rapper'

Last year, Drake topped a slew of veteran MCs to earn the #3 slot on MTV News' Hottest MCs in the Game list.

But in an interview with XXL, the Toronto lyricist said that despite the accolades thrown his way he's still actually "trying to become a better rapper."

The So Far Gone star — known for his blend of singing and rapping — explained that his ultimate goal is to outdo his previous work more than to compare himself to his peers.

"As far as rappers? Um ... I'm really still trying to become a better rapper, you know? And I still have idols," Drake said. "I still have people I look up to. I definitely don't feel that I'm the best I can be nor am I the best rapper. Like I said, I just love making the music, and I'm less concerned about where I stand in the rankings and more about just where I stand with myself, like am I getting better? You know, am I the best I can be?

"I really don't care about like compared to Hov or compared to Wayne," he continued. "That's another man. I've never been really worried about what anybody else is doing. I just use it as reference points and as influence and inspiration, but I don't really bother myself with thinking who's the best. 'Cause that doesn't really matter. It's just who's got the songs that move people at the time. Like if you've got the title of being the best rapper but you don't have the hottest songs out? To me, that's what's important is just like putting out consistently good product."

Although Drake's recent single, "Find Your Love," is more R&B-tinged than hip-hop flavored, the rapper said he still wants to be considered one of the best MCs when his June 15 debut, Thank Me Later, drops.

"I definitely want to be great," he said. "You know, I'm not saying I don't care. I obviously care. I love being mentioned in a class of people that are incredible, but I mean, you can focus on that sh-- and drive yourself crazy. ... In different genres it's way different. I think rap is probably the most competitive genre."

Christina Aguilera Announces North American Tour Dates With Leona Lewis Opening

Christina Aguilera is gearing up for a powerhouse tour that will feature not one, but two of music’s biggest voices.

The pop superstar, who releases her new album Bionic on June 8, has announced dates for a 20-city North American trek, which kicks off July 15 in Uncasville, Conn., and winds down August 19 in Irvine, Calif.

Her labelmate Leona Lewis will also appear on all North American dates, for which tickets go on sale to the public beginning May 21. All fans who purchase tickets at LiveNation.com through June 4 will receive an email to download Aguilera’s new album on June 7, the day before it hits stores.

Sheek Louch Of The Lox Signs Solo Deal With Def Jam

In a way out of left field move, Sheek Louch of The Lox/D-Block has just inked a solo deal with Def Jam Records.

It's not surprising Def Jam would be interested in Louch though. Quiet as kept he's been dropping some nice freestyle tracks recently and has a solid track record with his four solo albums.

I think the move will catch a lot of hip hop heads off guard simply because rumors usually leak early about something like this, but that wasn't the case here.

Sheek made the announcement via his Twitter page.

With both Jadakiss and now Sheek over at Def Jam, could Styles-P be next?

Report: Jay-Z Wants Rihanna To Be The Face Of New Burlesque Clubs

HANDS up who fancies a night on the tiles with Rihanna in her skimpy smalls?

That fantasy could become a reality when the Barbadian singer launches her own nightclub with a raunchy burlesque theme.

The 22-year-old singer, currently touring the country in skintight PVC catsuits, is in talks with BFF and mentor Jay Z, 40, who wants her to get behind a chain of clubs.

A source says: “Jay thinks she has the perfect image to get into the club scene.

“All the top bods reckon she’s smoking hot. They’re desperate to make her the face and body of a new burlesque chain. Jay sees it as a great business opportunity.

“He’s telling her it’s a great way for her to expand her brand.” Ri is no stranger to moneymaking. There’s a book deal in the pipeline and a new fragrance, Route 22, scheduled for launch this summer.

“She’s got a good brain for business,” said a pal.

“Most singers produce clothes ranges and launch products for extra dosh but she wants something sexy and fun.”

We wonder what baseball-playing boyfriend Matt Kemp, 25, thinks about her going out in burlesque clobber? Bet he can’t wait to get her home…

Solar's Twitter/Email Hacked, Private Documents Hit the Web [See Leaked Emails Inside]

(AllHipHop News) The email and Twitter accounts of Solar were hacked and a number of documents were leaked on the Internet today (May 9th).

Unknown individuals Twittered from Solar’s account (Solar_7Grand) account tonight, as well as from an account registered to late rapper Keith “Guru“ Elam (GuruGangStarr).

Throughout the evening, the intruder released a series of emails sent to or from Solar, including the controversial statement allegedly made by Guru, while he was dying of cancer.

“Remember that I am doing this for Guru. We all deserve the truth,” the hacker Twittered. “I’ve posted these e-mails for you, now let me know what you think of them. Should I post more? Should I stop? Am I smooth? Elaborate! I’ve got around 800 mails lol, so it will take a while…”

The unknown individual has been Tweeting from Solar’s account since May 7th. Tonight, the individual released a number of sensitive emails from Solar’s account.

The hacker released nude pictures of women addressed to Solar, royalty statements made out to 7 Grand Records, which Solar co-owned with Guru, in addition to a tour rider.

The individual(s) even held a Q&A session using Solar's account and joked:
"I would love to pay 500 bucks to see Solar pressing F5 every 5 seconds on his twitter right now."

Since "Guru’s death on April 19th, Solar, his partner in 7 Grand Records, has been under intense scrutiny for the dissemination of information, as well as his handling of the legendary rapper’s death as his health care proxy.

A number of supporters of Guru have publicly questioned his relationship with Solar, including Gang Starr member DJ Premier, the Elam family, trumpeter Nick “Brownman” Alian and Solar’s ex-girlfriend Tasha Denham.

A website dedicated to “exposing” Solar, www.f**ksolar.com also popped up last week and has been releasing information about Guru and Solar’s business and personal relationships.

Solar released a statement last week denying recent allegations by DJ Premier, who claimed that Guru was left unkempt in his final days on earth.

“My people and I would never tolerate any mistreatment of Guru in any way, shape, or form,” Solar said. “Did DJ Premier complain to the hospital authorities about what he claims he saw?! If so who were the hospital authority? [sic] What was their response?"

Penelope Cruz has beaten Claudia Schiffer and Kristin Scott Thomas to be named the world's most beautiful woman, in a list compiled by fashion expert Sally Allen.

The 36-year-old beauty beat supermodel Claudia Schiffer, 39, and 49-year-old actress Kristin Scott Thomas to top the chart, which was compiled by fashion expert Sally Allen.

Sally spent a year looking at press coverage to compile the list, which also included Dame Helen Mirren, 64, and 75-year-old Sophia Loren.

She said: "Our top ten women are often the subject of spontaneous and unexpected press exposure yet always manage, somehow, to look great. Sometimes they are caught without their make-up, on bad hair days, or in less than flattering poses, but their natural beauty always seems to shine through.

"There is no question in my mind that Penelope Cruz is a worthy winner. She was an undoubtedly pretty girl when she started her acting career at 16 but, 20 years later, she has matured into a particularly beautiful woman and a fine actress."

The youngest entrant was 34-year-old Charlize Theron and Sally believes the reason older females were included is because they get better with age.

The list was compiled for clothing firm Wizard Jeans, with spokesman Anthony Edwards saying: "Women like Beyonce Knowles and Cheryl Cole are sexy and pretty but real beauty is something that comes from within and usually requires maturity. Singer Bobby Brown Gets Engaged On Stage!

For concertgoers at Metro Park in Jacksonville, Fla., on Friday, the hottest ticket at the annual Funk Fest wasn't the performance by '90s girl group SWV or the line for fruity refreshments as temperatures climbed into the 90s. It was watching singer Bobby Brown propose to his girlfriend of nearly three years, manager Alicia Etheridge.

Holding their 11-month-old son Cassius, Etheridge joined Brown on stage as he got down on one knee and presented her with a ring. The crowd roared its approval as a beaming Etheridge kissed Brown, who remained kneeling.

Brown, who had a troubled 15-year marriage to Whitney Houston and most recently appeared on Celebrity Fit Club, seemed elated to have the audience in his corner.

"We shouted, we screamed," fan Carol Pearsall told the Florida Times-Union. "We supported him."

Added her husband, Paul, "Hopefully he'll get it right this time."

The Miss USA pageant is getting dressed down for what some consider to be overly sexy images of the 2010 contestants.

Pageant officials have been getting angry phone calls after posting "risqué" photos of this year's 51 contestants - from Miss Alabama all the way down to Miss Wyoming - TMZ.com reports.

The ladies, most of them in their early 20s, have traded in their traditional ball gowns and tiaras to lounge in bed in various stages of undress.

They offer the camera sultry looks as they show off their lingerie, or lack thereof.

Miss New York, Davina Reeves, holds shut her unbuttoned pin striped shirt but appears to be wearing nothing underneath.

Meanwhile, Miss New Jersey poses in nothing but a black lace bra, her nylon hose held up by garter belts.

A representative for Miss USA told TMZ that they consider the images "tasteful."

"You can have brains and be smart and still be sexy," the rep told the gossip Web site.

Miss USA 2010 takes place in Las Vegas next weekend. It will air May 16 at 7 pm on NBC.

Caught On Tape: Seattle Police Kicking Innocent Hispanic Man In The Head While Yelling "I'm Going To Beat The Mexican Sh*t Out Of You Homey"

SEATTLE -- A video showing Seattle police officers stomping on a man's head and body and using a racial epithet has prompted an internal investigation by authorities and disgust from the mayor.

One of the officers involved, a 15-year veteran, apologized at a Friday night news conference for his "hateful words."

The incident occurred as Seattle police were responding to an armed robbery call near a nightclub in Seattle's Westlake neighborhood on April 17. Patrons had called police and described the suspects as Hispanic.

The video -- shot by a freelance videographer and aired Thursday by KIRO -- shows a group of officers surrounding two men lying on the ground.

At one point, an officer approaches one of the men and can be heard saying: "You got me? I'm going to beat the (expletive) Mexican (expletive) out of you homey. You feel me?"

Soon after, officers kick the man in the head, hand and leg.

It turned out the man was not the robbery suspect, and the officers let him go.

A tearful Detective Shandy Cobane told reporters the words he used "were offensive and unprofessional."

"A day has not passed that I wished I could rewind the events of that night and take back those hateful words," he added.

Cobane apologized to the Latino community, saying, "I know that my words cut deep and were very hurtful."

"Please know that I am truly, truly sorry," the officer said.

He also apologized to Interim Police Chief John Diaz and his fellow officers.

Diaz said it was Cobane's decision to offer a public apology. The chief adds an internal investigation will continue.

"I watched the video and found it disturbing," Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn said earlier in a statement, adding he has spoken with Diaz.

Cobane and a female officer seen in the video are both on administrative leave.

In a statement, police said the internal investigation of possible officer misconduct was being handled by the Office of Professional Accountability.

The video shows the unidentified man gingerly getting up after being on the ground. The man is approached by the videographer and asked why he was kicked.

"I don't know. They knocked me down and kicked me in the head," the man responds.

Young Heroes: 14 School Boys Chase Down & Citizen Arrest Sexual Offender After Classmate Tells Them He Assaulted Her [Video]

Schoolgirls have been complaining for months to Los Angeles County Deputies patrolling transit lines about a man who allegedly had fondled, groped and felt them up while they road buses to and from school.

Deputies have been searching for the man, and Thursday morning the manhunt ended when a female victim spotted the subject.

She told a few boys on the bus and 14 of her male classmates took matters into their own hands. They chased the suspected fondler off the bus and down the street

After a two-block chase, the boys caught the man and made a citizens' arrest.

The girls and boys all go to University High School in West Los Angeles and have not been identified in this story because they are minors.

Police identified the man accused of harassing the girls as 29-year-old Larry Mims. Mims is a registered sex offender who was convicted twice in the past decade in sex abuse cases.

The recent photo shoot Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant did for L.A. Times Magazine has gotten people talking.

Just what exactly are these pictures supposed to suggest? Kobe's skin appears to be much darker in the photos than in real life.

Picture number one (at the top of blog) has caused the most controversy. Some have called it racist, saying it brings to mind minstrel advertisements from the 19th Century. Where white men were pictured in black face, with red lipstick, wide white eyes, hats, bow ties, and all black clothing.

The stylist claims they were trying to make Kobe look like Tupac Shakur.

For his part Kobe says the pics look doctored and are a "little too artsy" for his tastes.

His teammate Derek Fisher saw them and immediately asked "are these real?" Which probably sums up the initial reaction of most people when they first view them.

Whatever the photo shoot was aiming for, I think it's safe to say it ended being up one big epic fail.

Who can forget that sick line from Jadakiss off of the remix to Nas' joint "Made You Look"?

With that line, a lot of pressure was placed on Jada's shoulders to live up to top 5 status. The Yonker's rapper has delivered three very good, but not classic albums so far.

With the release of his latest mixtape, 'The Champ Is Here 3' out of the way. Al Qaeda Jada is prepping the release of what he hopes will be his signature LP.

'Top 5 Dead Or Alive' is the name of the album. Jada spoke to MTV recently about the project.

"I got about three good ones not even recorded, probably two verses done off each song," he said. "Probably four good ones, (DJ) Drama sent me something. I'm doing real careful selection on production on this next project."

"I'm looking for fire, big songs, even my street joints or if every verse got 75 curses in there I just want the production to be big."

When asked if the album was still coming out on Roc-A-Fella, Jada joked:

“Its Def Jam, Roc-A-Fella, Ruff Ryders, D-Block, Aphilliates, Green Lantern, a couple of other white guys. You know how this game is. Everybody is in the pot. But it’s enough money for everybody.”

Make no mistake about it, if you ask a rapper who the best mc in the world is they will probably name themselves.

Sometimes though, as in the case of Fat Joe, you can start talking and get so gassed up you say something ridiculous.

Joey Crack was kicking it with Ricky Padilla and the 102 Jamz Crew. As he went through their rap Wall Of Fame and broke down some of the legends in the game, he actually had the nerve to say that after 2Pac he was the 2nd realest rapper in the game.

Whoa, that's a heavy statement right there. What about Ice Cube, Chuck D, Beanie Sigel, Scarface or 50 Cent? I would go so far as to say if you asked an average hip hop fan to name their top 10 realest rapper ever, Fat Joe's name would never come up.

Joe went on to call Lil Wayne the best rapper in the world today and took a shot at 50 Cent, saying he has only 1 classic album and tried to sign with Terror Squad back in the day.

Joe's one great contribution to the game is that he introduced the world to Big Pun. After that his career hasn't been much to talk about.

If Ed Lover would have been there, he would have hit Crack with a big, C'MON SON!
