50 Cent warned rappers a long time ago "this is chess not checkers." The industry is about to witness the ultimate chess move by the G-Unit boss according to Tony Yayo.

While not spilling the beans completely on what 50 has planned, Yayo did tell XXL in a brand new interview that something big is coming.

We was gonna go the independent route, ’cause we put out ‘Beamer, Benz or Bentley,’ all that’s independently,” he added. “That’s with no machine.” But it seems like 50 has something else up his sleeve."

Tony also talked a little bit about how being dropped from Interscope turned out to be a blessing in disguise.

When I got dropped, I’m not gonna front. I was a little down about it,” he explained. “It’s not like it was because of the money, because Interscope, they advanced me for my second album. So I got money that I didn’t even deserve."

Everything happens for a reason, with his upcoming role in the movie 'S.W.A.T. :Firefight' and 50's big plans, things are coming back into focus for Tony Yayo and G-Unit.

God works in mysterious ways and good things is happening now,” he told the Mag “The new opportunities are coming. I don’t wanna talk too much about them either ’cause I don’t wanna ruffle any feathers or anything, but 50 is definitely bringing G-Unit back to where it needs to be. “

An upcoming concert featuring rapper PITBULL has prompted protests in the notoriously conservative country of Malaysia.

The hip-hop star is due to perform at a dance musicfestival in the country on Saturday (May 15), but Pitbull's inclusion on the bill has sparked outrage amongst Islamist groups there - who have cited his performance style and lyrics as a cause for concern.

Around 300 Muslim protesters gathered in the capital city, Kuala Lumpur, on Friday (May14) to express their outrage at Pitbull's planned performance, as well as a new government ruling which will allow a sports gambling company to be set up in Malaysia.

Pan Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) official Kamaruzaman Mohamad, says, "It's bad enough that he is named after a dog, but if you watch his video clip on YouTube, his performance and lyrics are against Malaysian cultural norms."

The protests were broken up by police, but no arrests were made, according to Reuters.

Strict Islamic groups in Malaysia frequently oppose pop concerts in the country - Beyonce scrapped a planned gig in Kuala Lumpur last year (09) after Muslim leaders slammed her sexy show, while other stars, including the Black Eyes Peas' Fergie have been forced to cover up and tone down their raunchy routines while performing in Malaysia.

New Orleans rapper Jay Electronica has started to build a nice buzz for himself. He started to get a lot of national recognition in 2009 when he released the Just Blaze produced banger "Exhibit C." Since then he's continued to dispel the myth that rappers from the South can't be lyricists.

To that end he recently caused a bit of a stir when he revealed that he once had beef with the Wu Tang Clan's Rza over remarks he made disparaging southern hip hop.

"I remember Rza said some ridiculously stupid things about the south," Jay said.

Peace on RZA, that’s my brother,” he continued. “RZA had a great effect on me via the Wu Tang Clan and the music he did, I wouldn’t be who I am today if it wasn’t for the RZA and the Wu. But also RZA you said some crazy wild shit, and if you would have seen me at that time we might have had a physical altercation.”

"So I put in in a record called 'I Feel Good' that I did a long, long time ago. But peace to Rza, he's a beautiful black man. He's done a lot for our culture, a lot for our people and a lot for humanity in general."

Jay's interview caught the attention of The Drama King DJ Kay Slay who took to his Twitter to speak his mind on the matter.

"This jay electronica dude gettin real disrespectful towards New York n***as these days.. if he hates us so f*kin much why does he rap like us?"

"His f*kin interview just made my blood boil."

Jay responded via an interview on Shade 45's Angela Yee Show.

"Hold on Mr Kay Slay. I'm not rhyming like nobody, we all got our influences. And no disrespect, I love Kay Slay, I been f***in with Kay Slay since Style Wars," Jay said. "I f***s with Kay Slay, I made it known that I fucks with New York. But I'm not 19 years old, I'm not 15 out here sucking d*** and kissing ass, Imma say how I feel."

When I say New York n***as was dissing us and talking crazy s**t about us; I’m not being hypothetical, I’m talking about what I experienced…I was real clear in the interview I have super respect for RZA. If it wasn’t for Wu, Nas, BIG, Jeru, Primo, by the way Primo’s from Texas, if it wasn’t for all these people I wouldn’t be the person I am today.”

Kay Slay responded on his Hot 97 show.

What happened in the past happened and the South is eating now and you got on. Why you keep bringing up old foolishness and keep throwing New York up?” Slay said. “I’m taking offense because when Ludacris came around before his first album dropped, he came to my crib to freestyle. T.I. when he first came out came to my crib to freestyle; he asked me to bring him on BET his first time around. Eightball’s first time when he came to New York, I took him through Harlem. You’re using these people like no one in New York supported the South and everybody was dogging them [and] that never was the case.”

Cooler heads have since prevailed.

Kay Slay feels like he has always shown the south love and doesn't want this situation to get out of hand. He tweeted this morning. "Dear bloggers! Me an Jay elec are grown men an we had our opinions about issues an thts that..No violence just opinions!yall can relax now!"

Now that's good look, no beef, just two grown men expressing their opinions

Meanwhile in more positive Jay Electronica news. He recently told Vibe that he will be touring with 50 Cent and G-Unit on their U.S. run.

"I'm touring with G-Unit at the end of the month. I think 50's gonna be down but right now I don't even know the dates. Aside from that, I’m working on the next phase of my music. I want to tour and travel the world. I’m definitely at some point going to make a point to go all over the continent especially after the experience I had shooting "Exhibit C" in Nepal."

T.I. the self proclaimed King Of The South gave his first interview since being released from prison on weapons charges.

T.I. tells Larry King he was in a state of depression and paranoia when he purchased three machine guns and two silencers from undercover officers.

"This most recent incident, it came from an attempt that was made on my life," he said. "My best friend [Philant Johnson] had died in my arms. It caused a state of depression and paranoia. My judgment was jaded, and I felt my life was in danger. ... At the time, when I felt the need to have these things, I never took into consideration the legalities; I only took into consideration the protection of my life and family."

Larry asked why did he feel the need to purchase that kind of firepower. He pointed out that not even law enforcement uses those kinds of weapons.

Tip explained that when he and his entourage were attacked in Cincinnati the night his best friend was killed the assailants pumped more than 50-100 rounds into the van they were riding in.

So he felt out gunned and didn't want that to happen again.

It's a great interview so check it out below.

The hacker that got into Superproducer Solar's email account and leaked documents stepped out of the shodows to grant Vibe.com an interview.

He calls himself "Renaldo" and speaks about why he's going after Solar.

"I'm angry because [of the] things popped off on the Internet about Solar," he said. There were rumors going on about Solar selling Guru’s house while Guru was in the hospital. So when people came forward like Solar’s baby mother, I was like, ‘Let’s expose this guy.’ So that’s why I did it."

Renaldo feels like Solar should be punished for the wrongs he did to late rapper Guru of Gang Starr. He was given Solar's email address and got busy.

"It was never my choice to do it. It was a random thing. It’s not like I feel like I’m the chosen one. But the opportunity was there," he explained. "When that person said ‘Here is Solar’s email account.’ I said ‘Okay, I’m going to hack that shit.’"

Renaldo says he's not done with Solar. He accuses him of stealing from Guru while he was on his death bed.

"I’ve got a shitload of pics of him cheating. I don’t think I leaked this completely…. When Guru was in the hospital fighting for his life, Solar sent an email from Guru’s email account to EMI and said, 'I want to transfer 1K from my bank account to another bank account.' And that bank account is Solar’s bank account. I've got several bank records indicating that he was stealing from Guru. And some documents indicating that all the royalties from EMI went to 7 Grand [his record label]. I've got an email showing that he didn't pay Doo Wop."

A source at Rikers Island confirmed reports that Lil Wayne was busted Monday for having headphones, a charger and a watch that doubles as an MP3 player in his jail cell.

The offense isn't extremely serious, but it could mean more prison time for Wayne. "You just get an infraction, a violation," the source told MTV News. "You lose some 'good time.'

"It depends on the severity of the infraction," the source added about what other type of trouble Weezy could get into. "Level one is the worst. Then you have [level] two or three. [This infraction] could be a level one. He has to go on trial, and based on evidence, they'll make their determination."

Our source also confirmed that Wayne has a job as a suicide-prevention aid, which entails staying up at night to keep an eye on at-risk inmates.

"He checks each cell or area to see if each guy is alive. There are three shifts," our source said. "I think his shift is at night, like 11 [p.m.] to 7 [a.m.] or 12 to 8."

That job is now in jeopardy due to the infraction.

In 2007, Lil Wayne was arrested for attempted gun possession following his first headlining performance in Manhattan at the Beacon Theatre. New York is among the toughest states in the country when it comes to gun-possession laws. In other states, Lil Wayne could have gotten off with a misdemeanor rap and probation. However, in New York, only law-enforcement officials and those affiliated with authorities are permitted to carry firearms. The rapper was sentenced to a year in prison in March.

Fire Starter: Diggy Simmons

Daniel "Diggy" Simmons has his legendary pop's brash but lovable quality — and it's most apparent when Rev Run's son is rapping. "The son of a king, so why would I ever bow down?" he asks on his Internet-famous freestyle "Made You Look (Flow Stoopid)."

The young MC, who hasn't been 15 years old for even four months yet, now has a record deal under his belt and a following on the Net, thanks to freestyles like the aforementioned "Made You Look" and "Diggy What, Diggy Who?!" Not to mention, a much talked-about blog titled "Life of a Jet Setter: The Young Tastemakers Guide" and, of course, a starring role the Simmons family reality-TV series "Run's House" on MTV.

Young Simmons has obviously been around hip-hop all his life. His older brother JoJo raps, Dad is recognized as one of the greatest MCs ever, and his uncle Russell is universally hailed as one of hip-hop's godfathers. But Diggy doesn't flinch when he considers the weight of that legacy.

"I get a lot of people [asking me about that] in interviews as well," he said. "They're like, 'Do you feel the pressure to uphold the legacy?' I'm just like, 'At the end of the day, I know who they are. But I'm really doing me.' It's like, I'm not feeling too much pressure, and I like it better that way. And I'll make it for myself," added Simmons, who described his upbringing as "normal."

"[Music] was really something I picked up and did on my own," Diggy explained of getting on the mic for the first time. "I was writing for a while, doing my thing. I was doing joints off my MacBook on GarageBand. I sent it to my boys through iChat. They'd knock a verse out. It was done like that. I released my first track, got a cool buzz around it, and I released some tracks prior to the mixtape [First Flight]. That's when I started pushing the tape. Once I pushed the tape, a lot of people were aware that I was rapping. Since the 'Made You Look' freestyle, and a lot of people knowing I signed to Atlantic, now many people know."

Not long after Diggy dropped the "Made You Look" freestyle, he got kudos from Kanye West. And most recently, the guy whose beat he jacked for the freestyle, Nas, gave him props as well.

"I couldn't believe it," Nas told Vibe, discussing his impressions of the teen. "Run is the king of rap, and for him to have a son who's that nice? You don't even think sh-- like that happens. I don't think we've seen that in hip-hop yet — he's nice, and his father's the king? That's historic, bro. That sh-- is incredible. That little dude is nice."

And Diggy shouldn't be confused with some other rappers in his demographic. He's actually winning over fans with his rapid flow, as well as his wordplay.

"That's something I really focus on, because a lot of my inspiration in music, they vary, from Lupe [Fiasco] to A Tribe Called Quest," said Diggy, who also included Jay-Z and Nas among his favorites. "I love Mos Def. Real lyrical dudes in the game, that's what I focus on. A lot of the time when you listen to music, you have no focus on what you listen to.

"I'm just letting people hear my music now," Diggy said. "A lot of people are like, 'Diggy raps? Ah, OK.' Before they even hear it, they don't even wanna hear it. They think it's gonna be some bubblegum, kiddie-bop type of hip-hop. That's not even the case."

Simmons said he's working on new material that will show his elevation as a wordsmith, but he's not yet sure if another mixtape will come before his debut album.

She has since recovered and credits God for pulling her through, but to this day doctors have no idea how it happened.

(CNN) -- An 8-year-old boy who is a Dutch citizen is the sole survivor of a deadly plane crash in Libya, airline officials said Wednesday.

Afriqiyah Airways confirmed on its website late Wednesday that the other 92 passengers and 11 crew members were killed when the plane crashed while trying to land at the Tripoli International Airport.

The child, identified as Ruben van Assouw, suffered multiple fractures in his lower limbs and underwent an operation at Al Khadra Hospital in Tripoli, a doctor at the hospital said.

The boy has seen a Dutch Embassy representative and is sedated and asleep, she said.

The Dutch Foreign Ministry, which had a representative at the hospital waiting to identify the boy, declined to confirm the child's name.

The Afriqiyah Airways plane originated in Johannesburg, South Africa. Of those killed, 58 passengers were Dutch, six South African, two Libyan, two Austrian, one German, one French, one Zimbabwean and two British. Another 19 passengers' nationalities could not immediately be identified. The 11 crew members were all Libyan.

The plane, an Airbus A330-200, was at the end of its nearly nine-hour flight when it crashed at 6 a.m.

"We express our sincere regret and sadness on behalf of the airline. As well, we would like to express our condolences to the relatives and friends of those who had passengers on Flight 8U771 destined for Tripoli late last night, due to arrive around 6 o'clock this morning," said Nicky Knapp, a representative of the Airports Company South Africa. She was speaking on behalf of Afriqiyah Airways.

Jerzy Buzek, president of the European Parliament, said the child's survival, "given this tragic event, is truly a miracle."

At the crash site, workers with surgical masks combed through the smoldering wreckage, which spilled over a large area. A wheel lay atop a pile of bags. Two green airline seats sat upright and intact amid burned parts of the aircraft.

Officials recovered the plane's flight data recorder, which investigators use to piece together a flight's last minutes.

The Tripoli-based Afriqiyah (Arabic for "African") operates flights to four continents. The planes in the fleet carry the logo 9.9.99: the date when the African Union was formed.

The plane that crashed was one of three Airbus 330-200s that the airline owns.

Robert Pattinson the rapper?

That almost became a reality according to the star. The man who plays vampire Edward Cullen in the hugely successful 'Twilight' films told Oprah Winfrey he dreamed of becoming a rapper as a teen.

I grew up watching American movies and stuff. Also, I used to want to be a rapper when I was like 14,” he told her.

To which Oprah replied, “No you didn’t!” Her amazement isn't a big surprise since it is well known she isn't a fan of the art form.

But for Robert, hip hop has been a huge help for him in developing an American accent for movies even if his co-star and rumored girlfriend Kristen Stewart doesn't think so.

"Kristen thinks I do the most terrible American accent'" he joked.

A shocking beating by a teacher on a 13 year old student was caught on tape.

40 year old Sherri Davis, a special education teacher at Jamie's House Charter School in Houston attacked the boy after he mocked a couple of girls who were dancing.

She beat, kicked and slapped the boy for almost a minute while other students laughed.

The student who taped the video on her cell phone said at least 4 other teachers watched the beating but didn't intervene.

A spokesperson for the shool, Sue Davis watched the video and was appalled. "The video is absolutely horrifying," she said.

"Obviously when we saw the video there was no doubt that the teacher would be terminated,"

"It's unreal that a teacher would do that to a student," said the spokesperson. "That's just not something we are going to tolerate."

The boys mother, Alesah Johnson has filed a police report. She says her son suffered a black eye and several bruises.

Jamie's House is a charter school for students for disciplinary problems.

The spokesperson said it doesn't matter what the student did, he didn't deserve a beating like that.

The student who filmed it said the teacher is normally nice, but not that day.

"Ms Davis came in there and went crazy," said the student.

A Texas high school basketball player turned out instead to be a 22 year old imposter.

Guerdwich Montimere, a 2007 graduate of Dillard High School in Ft Lauderdale,Florida made his way to Odessa,Texas where he fooled everyone by telling them he was a 16 year old Haitian orphan named Jerry Joseph.

The coach of the Odessa Permian basketball team, Danny Wright even allowed Montimere to stay in his home.

Wright says he and the rest of the basketball team are in shock.

"I guess he fooled all of us," Wright said. "Hurt is the best way to describe how I feel. I gave him all the opportunities in the world to come clean. I don't know why he did this."

Meanwhile a criminal investigation is already underway. Montimere has been areested and charged with presenting false identification to a peace officer, but that could be just the tip of the iceberg.

"A 22 year old being in our schools is very much a concern that's why this has been an ongoing investigation, that's why we have not dropped it that's why we were not going to let go until we had found the truth," said ECISD Police Lt. Mark Rowden.

Louis Vives and Cedric Smith, coached Montimere on their AAU team when he lived in Florida. They confronted him at a tournament in Arkansas last month.

"I was hoping I was wrong because he was one of our kids," Vives said. "He grew up in our system. He played with us and you don't want any of your kids to go in the wrong direction in any way. But what's right is right. He can't go around impersonating a 16-year-old kid. He can't go living his youth all over again."

After fingerprints from his original immigration papers came in and were a match, Montimere confessed to the deception.

"I knew it was a matter of time. The truth was going to come out. I'm just glad it's over." Smith said.

The Permian team went 16-13 this season including a loss in the bi-district round of the playoffs.

(CNN) -- A Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, police officer who told authorities he was shot while on patrol last month has admitted he shot himself intentionally, the city's police commissioner said Tuesday.

Sgt. Robert Ralston, 46, confessed to police early Tuesday morning that he made up the story, possibly to a get attention or a transfer, Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey said in a news conference.

Ralston reported that on April 5 he saw two African-American males arguing on a train track in West Philadelphia. He told investigators that when he stopped the two men for questioning one of them pulled out a gun and shot him in the left shoulder.

His claim sparked a search for a phantom suspect.

Ramsey noted that there were many inconsistencies throughout the month-long investigation.

"The evidence never did match up. We have forensic evidence at the scene that did not match with the story," he said.

One example of inconsistent evidence was that the gunpowder residue found on Ralston's shirt matched the ammunition used by the police department, he said.

The commissioner said that Ralston, who is white, told police his attackers were black because the district where the shooting took place is predominately black.

"It's troubling in a lot of ways," Ramsey said. "It inflames racial tensions in our community, and that's certainly something we don't need."

Ralston, a 21-year veteran of the police force, will be made to pay the cost of the investigation that followed his report, and has been suspended with the intent to dismiss, Ramsey said.

He will not, however, face criminal charges because police granted him immunity to obtain his confession.

Well, it took a few years, but Cory Gunz has finally signed to Lil Wayne's Young Money Entertainment. We all thought years ago — in the wake of Gunz dropping lyrics for Weezy's Tha Carter III blockbuster "A Millie" (Gunz's bars never made the album as originally planned, but it did land on mixtapes) — that Cory was going to be down with the team. ... But there was the matter of the Bronx native's recording deal with Def Jam and then President Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter.

"[There were] miscommunication issues," Cory said recently in New York about why he's just now getting down with YM and CM. "Me and other ventures, a bunch of other paperwork. [Years ago] Wayne took time out of his schedule. He was promoting Tha Carter II and he took time out of his schedule to come from 'TRL' and '106 [and Park]' and come to Sony studio and lay the verse. I was about 17 and it was for my first album, a song called 'I Gotcha.' Shot out to Just Blaze. He took that and remixed it. Wayne did that for free back then. It was a situation that was supposed to go down before, but I was in paperwork with Hov at the time. One thing led to another. I was freed up and he reached out by the powers that be and now I'm here [on his label]. History is about to be made. He just kept it 100. I got nothing but respect for him. Free Wayne."

"Shout out to Wayne," he added. "Shout out to the whole Young Money family. Shout out to Mack Maine. Everybody. It's definitely official. Young Money/ Cash Money. Shout out to Wayne for giving me a shot. He kept it real. All I'mma say, that this is it. This is what it is. Everybody just better get ready."

Cory has been recording a bunch of material for an album that he had planned to title God Forgives, I Don't. That LP is now going to be an EP and will be preceded by a gaggle of mixtapes. Cory's Young Money debut LP still has no title, but Weezy will steer the ship once he gets home from prison later this year.

"Definitely. Wayne is gonna executive-produce the album," he explained. "I trust his insight. He's going to be overseeing everything. I'm gonna keep doing the things I been doing. I think that's what's gotten me noticed. I'mma just keep my grind moving. Whatever ventures I can do, I'm bringing my family through. My whole team is gonna eat. I'm just telling everybody to get ready."

Cory will have no problem getting acclimated into his new family. He has relationships with quite of few of his teammates already.

"I haven't met Nicki [Minaj] yet," Gunz said. "Me and Drizzy met a while back when they was doing the I Am Music Tour in Arizona. I went over there with Shaquille, and Drake shouted me out [onstage]. It was something he didn't have to do. The fact he did that way before [I was on Young Money], I was humbled by that. As far as Jae Millz, me and Millz — Pause — had a relationship before all of this. I went on my first road tour with Millz. I talk to Chuckee and Twist a lot. Mack, of course, I talk to. Gudda is family, Short [Dawg]. Shout out to T-Streets too."
