After years of heavy drug abuse, trouble with the law and a tumultuous marriage to Whitney Houston, Bobby Brown says he's finally cleaned up his act.
In an interview with The Boombox, Brown was very candid about where he's been and where he's headed.
"I'm definitely in a better place in my life," Brown told BoomBox. "Six years sober from drugs. I'm just really grateful that I can get off the heroin, the crack, the coke. I'm glad I just have a beautiful woman in my life who's always there for me. At times when it gets really hard, she's right there, you know, to hold me and let me know, you know, 'Look at where you come from and look at where you are right now.' I'm just grateful."
Brown's 18-year old daughter Bobbi Kristina, from his marriage to Whitney Houston has seen her name hit the entertainment blogs, with stories of her reported hard partying and druga abuse. Brown says his daughter is doing just fine.

Like any newcomer trying to break into a business, some young West Coast rappers have been met with resistance from a few of the OG's. Ice Cube and Jay Rock briefly went at it over Cube's sometimes less than tolerant stance on the New West.
Snoop has taken a different path with the younger rappers. He's gotten to know and embrace a lot of them.
"As far as the New West or the young MCs out here on the West Coast, I'm very familiar with them because they call me Uncle Snoop. So more than likely, they come get my blessings on a record, or through mutual friends we connect with each other," Snoop told MTV. "Because I always keep my ear to the streets and I always love being a part of what's new and fly representing the West Coast. I've always been one to try to put that on the forefront, so I keep my ear glued to the street when it comes to these new acts from the West. I try to be a part of their projects and a part of blowing them up."
Some of the names you can expect to hear a lot from over the next few years from the West are Glasses Malone, Slim The Mobster, Nipsey Hussle, Jay Rock, 2Eleven, Odd Future, Lil B and many more.
Snoop has already collaborated with Malone, Hussle and YG. And for those balling with a smaller budget, Snoop will work out deals with them.
"It may be a situation where a young artist may not have a budget or he may have a little budget," Snoop says. "For example, I may charge an established rapper $100,000 to rap on his song. But for an artist from the West who don't have a budget or have a little budget, I may charge him $1,500 or or say 'you know what I don't even wanna be paid, when you come up holla at me."
A free verse from a legend? I'm sure there is a line forming for young west coast rapper to get in the booth with Uncle Snoop.

With closed minded people like the ones in Mississippi it's no wonder why Republicans have a hard time attracting more African Americans.
In a survey conducted by phone, Public Policy Polling of Raleigh, N.C., found that 46% of of GOP respondents thought interracial marriage should be illegal.
Interracial marriages were in fact illegal until a 1967 Supreme Court ruling forced the state to change it's laws.
40% felt mixed marriages should remain legal while 14% weren't sure.
The Daily Mail reports that even with Mississippi's backwards view on race and relationships, the state led the nation in the growth of mixed marriages for most of the last decade. However, the multiracial population remains small, about 1.1 per cent.
Hard to believe this kind of stuff is still being debated in 2011.
